RFC issue in Triggering workflow

Hi,
I am trying to trigger a custom workflow from EP in Newly set up ECC 6.0 system.
Problem here is, Business object Event is getting triggered in R/3 with custom workflow as reciever, but the workflow is not going to the first stepThe event trace (SWEL) gives following information,
Action Receiver started correctly
RFC Status Logon not possible (error in license check)
I have checked the configuration in SWU3, all where fine, also the RFC WORKFLOW_LOCAL_100 tested successfully. The ECC6.0 has the full license.
Please let me know why this has happened? How can it be solved? Please reply ASAP.

Hi,
WF-BATCH has validity till 12/31/9999 and also the workflow initiator has SAP_ALL authorization,
Still the issue has not been solved. New thing i noticed this this problem happens intermittently !
For some time it is working fine, some other time its giving the same RFC error.

Event not triggering workflow always

Hi,
I have a parallel approval workflow which I trigger everytime I receive a decision from a UWL.it works fine but in some cases all the decisions are not received by the workflow.
Steps: I receive the decision from UWL via a RFC
I trigger the workflow with the decision using SAP_WAPI_EVENT_CREATE.
However sometimes out of 5 decisions only 4 reaches and the workflow never completes since I wait till all the decisions are received.
After triggering the event I also update a table which shows correct values meaning the data is correctly passed from UWL.
Not sure what can be the cause. Anyone any ideas.

Hello,
Either the event isn't being created, or the event is being created ad the workflow isn't triggering.
Check tx SWEL (event trace, turn on with SWELS) to see if SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT is creating the events.
It will also show you if a workflow is triggered, and what the workitem id is. It will also show any errors.

Thanks for responding. Yes, all the backend config are in place since I am able to successfully run an equivalent RFC (BBP_PD_SC_GETLIST) and another RFC named BBP_PD_SC_GETDETAIL from SE37. The problem seems to be something very specific to the ES. May I request you to run this ES at your end (if possible) and let me know the result possibly with the input and output message similar to the one I pasted in the origincal question.

How to update agent list after triggering workflow?

Hi Guys,
Is there any function module to update the agent list after triggering the workflow? i mean after triggering workflow, the user is maintaining some approving officers in their table and they are expecting the workflow should route the workitem to those newly maintained approving officers. So can any one help me to solve this issue.

those agent with existing available agent list.
It sounds like updating the existing workitem container with the new updated values. right? You mean to say initially workflow is triggered and the agent list is populated in the workflow container. But after the workflow is triggered if the table is updated with some new entries, then these new entries must alos be included in the agent list container element in the workflow container.
If this is the case the you have to modify the multiline container element of the workitem container. You can make use of the standard function module SAP_WAPI_WRITE_CONTAINER but this function module needs to be called each time when evenr a new entry is created and you have to check what are all the workitems that you want to update ,
I think its a bit difficult to update all the workitems which are with reagrd to this scenario.. so you have to check out some other simple way. But on a whole what I can say is you can update an existing workitem container by using the FM mentioned above...

Issue Transporting Business workflow from one System to Another

Hi All,
As there are many limitations in Import/Export of Workflow I'm going for a Transport of Workflow from one sytem to another.
There are some query's reagrding transporting of the Business Workflow through Transport Request.
1)   How can get the Transport Request no. of the Workflow to be transported? (As there are no direct versions displayed from menu).
2)   If there are any dependent objects first how to find the dependent objects lof workflow like if any data element, Domain, Table, Structure (if these objects are used in your WF definition or may be BOR method), Function module, function group BOR, Rule, WF template, task and Task assignment ?
3) How to get Transport Request no. of such dependent objects specifically The Task,Rule , WF template etc.?
4) I have object Type ZBUS2081 related to it how can i get its TR ?
Please describe as I'm new to workflow.
Please identify if there can be some issues after transporting workflow .

Hi Ujjwal,
Please find the below hint's.
1. Regarding the objects included in the Transport request check the Tables - E070*.
2. For dependent objects, you should check the workflow template. You have to check all the Task's and in the task go to
   utilities ---> Object directory entry --> Lock overview . Here you can see the request. It will show you the current request for    the Task.
3. To get the TR for Business object, Go to basic data ---> Transport data --> Here you can see the Request ID for the business object.

Urgent: Issue in Automatic workflow Customizing.

Can someone please help me with this issue in Automatic workflow customizing ( SWU3)
When I try to execute the step
Maintain Runtime Environment > Schedule Background Jobs with missed deadlines
I get the error message saying
"Output Device "" not known"
Can someone help me how to resolve this? This is very urgent for me.

The guidelines tell you not use the word urgent in your message title, so please don't. Personally I try to not answer such questions until at least one day has passed, giving you some time to cool off and perhaps solve the problem on your own.
I can't recall seing this message myself, but my guess is that either your user or the user WF-BATCH (if the job is being scheduled with that user) has a default printer (output device) that is not defined in the system.

Error during loading of transaction data: An RFC call-up triggered the ...

Dear Sirs,
during loading of master data from a 4.6C SAP system to BI 7.0 SP9 I get the following error during processing (data packet).
<i>"An RFC call-up triggered the exception (ID: RSAR NO: 503) "</i>
The strange thing with this error is that it emerged today, after successfully loading master data and a subset of transaction data yesterday from same source system.
Has anyone else come across this error, and can tell us where we should look for a possible solution? (or a better error explaination).
The RFC connections works fine when testing in SM59, and was functioning yesterday. No relevant dumps in either system.

2) Should I maintain the details of SAP PI in the RFC receiver channel ?
3) Can I use this RFC for RFC Lookups like any other RFC (ECC)?

No, this is not required, in your UDF, you just need to build the same structure as the RFC expects so to make it easier, you can import the RFC and see how its structure looks like but the real RFC is not used in RFC Lookup.

In general,you need to maintain the details of the SAP system where the RFC is stored, it could be PI/ECC or any other system.
Since you specify Alert information in this RFC lookup, the details will be of PI system.

This RFC is used only to build the structure in UDF, it is not used in anything else.
Note: Since you have mentioned writing UDF, i am assuming you are using PI 7.0. If you are on PI 7.1, you don't need to write UDF for it. There is already a standard function for RFC Lookup.

my requirement is to differentiate or make condition of triggering workflow based on trip activity type,
but I can't find any attribute about trip activity type.
how to add activity type to be available for create condition?

Hi,
If am not wrong you are trying to raise event when ever there is a new travel request raised, so the BOR would be availbel in the workflow container to be more preciese it would be available in the event container, so you need to find out the right attribute in the BOR where the trip type is assigned and validate this in the start conditions i mean in the basic data of the workflow where you activate the event linkage.

Which RFC can read the Workflow Inbox about JCo

Hello,
I search the correct RFC to read the Workflow Inbox. I would like to develop a JAVA Class to connect the Inbox and then to show the workitems on a web screen. I use the SAP JCo to connect the SAP System. But until now, i don't found the correct RFC to connect the Workflow Inbox in the Workplace.
Can anybody help me or know anybody the correct RFC?

Check the business object all the attributes in the log. If you get its fine if not create an attribute write your logic in that for changed material.

Call function module SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT (with COMMIT_WORK = space) to create an event, and use the event to start your workflow (triggering event). Alternatively, you can start the workflow directly using the corresponding SAP_WAPI function module for that purpose. My recommendation is that you normally don't start workflows directly as it is a less flexible solution (or you have to build that flexibility yourself instead of using what you get for free with triggering events).
However, why are you asking this question? I started wondering after seeing you ask an almost identical question in [another thread|Triggering Workflow Using BADI; here.

Issue in PO Workflow

I have a issue in PO release workflow .
When ever PO is created with release strategy , in SWEL   the below Object types and events are visible .

This is the currect entry which was comming in SWEL and my workflow ( WS9300080 ) was running fine based on the event " RELEASE STEP CREATED " .
Now the below entry comes and workflow is not gettng triggered .

The entry for event " RELEASE STEP CREATED" is missing now .
Can any body please tell me where i am doing the mistake so that the entry is missing in SWEL .

Hi,
unless there's a new release strategy found and unless a release code is set, which is a prerequesite to another release code, there will be no further events for BUS2012.ReleaseStepCreated.
From another point of view:
For each release code that is open, there is exactly once an event .ReleaseStepCreated.
Depending on the customizing, changes to the object may reset all given release codes. The common understanding is a "within 2% value change" doesn't reset the release.
If you need to have your workflow triggered on changes, as well, you'd be off with linking it to the .Changed event. To keep compatibility with the standard's event, I won't recommend to create a .ReleaseStepCreated by another linkage (such as the .Changed-event).

GRC 10 HR Triggers Workflow

Hello Experts,
I have cconfigured HR Triggers for change of position using Procedural call method. Created BRF+ Rule that identifies the condition and returns ACTION-ID. I can see that condition is satisfied when change of Position occurs, but it not following any workflow.
Where do we link the ACTION-ID to a workflow? Do we need to create new initiator with BRF+ Function ID ?
Already followed note 1591291 but did not help.

check the transavtion SLG1 run it backend system mention the following
Object: GRAC
Subobject:HRTRIGGER
External ID: *
then mention the dates and make * in remaning fileds for log class select All Logs and Log Creation ANy
Log Source Formatting select the first option then run the report
select the date which Hire actiivity taken place and Double click on it
you will get the log report and the exact error issue
Normally you define the workflow in SPRO as i nthe following the path
SPRO ->GRC -> Access Control -> Maintain mAC Application anf BRF+Fucntion mapping
maintain the workflow name
then you need to map the workflow in the MSMP GOto GRC->AC->workflow for access control -> Maintain MSMP workflow - select the standerd workflow you mentioned then go to the stage Maintain Path and maintain the path mentioned then go to stage Maintain Route Mapping and RUle ID for HR Trigger and PAth ID

File to RFC Issue in QA

Hi Grus,
I have developed File FCC to RFC in DEV and its good.
After Moving this to QA, We tested but no data found in RFC System.
Then I monitored and found that, File triggered from source directory and created a message with Outbound Interface and seen in Message Monitoring.
But I did not see any message in RWB with ZFunction Module as Inbound Interface.
What may be the issue?

Have you found any error message in PI?
May be the message has failed in mapping step, in that case you will not be able to see any message with ZFunction Module as Inbound Interface.
Please check in PI and see if the message is failed or not?
