RFC Receiver - Logon information

Hi
When we are configuring RFC Receiver, we provide the Logon details ( User Name).
What type of user type it should be.
Presently in the development server, i have configured with Dialog user and the same is working fine.
Will the same work, if i configure to "Communication user" or "Service User"
Pls let me know your thoughts
Regards
Madhan D

Hi,
Will the same work, if i configure to "Communication user" or "Service User" - Yes
The only thing is that the RFC comm user should have RFC execution rights..........so just ask your basis guys to attach the RFC execution role to your user........the type of user does not matter.........but it is better to have a service user in your RFC communication.

  • Dynamic Logon Data in RFC receiver adapter?

Does someone know if and how the logon data (userid) defined in the communication channel for a RFC receiver adapter can be dynamic overwritten? For example using  information from the payload?
Scenario: A request for getting HR data is send from a legacy system to XI, mapped to a RFC and routed to R3.
The audit people want to see a real user login into the R3 system to execute the function module and not the technical user defined in the communication channel.

That's exactly what principal propagation is.
You just have to make some (quite a lot, actually) configurations to enable it.
    Check these links:

  • RFC Receiver Adapter and RFC Destination -- Help

    Hi,
I would like to configure the RFC Receiver Adapter for the invokation of a RFC on SAP System (Name: ALPHA) using a RFC destination provided by another system named BETA.
I have set External Server as server type.
My first question is: I have to quote an application server gateway and a gateway service. Is this information related to a service on ALPHA or BETA?
    My second question is:
It is also necessary to provide a Programm-ID. The destination on BETA is a R/3 connection and doesn't have a programm id. Where do I get this from?
    And my last question is:
Is at all possible to use the RFC destination on BETA?
    Any help is really appreciated...
    Kind regards,
    Heiko

    Hi Heiko,
I don't fully understand your need but:)
since both of your systems are SAP systems
why are you trying to use external server?
can't you just call RFC on BETA
and inside this RFC on beta call RFC on ALPHA?
in a sync or async way?
can you tell a little more about your requirement ?

    Hi,
I think the logon details what you are giving in Receiver CC may be wrong. Check all those details like Application Server,System Number,User,Password and client.
    Thanks.

  • Which user type to user for RFC receiver channel

    Hi Forum,
I m developing XI scenarios which include RFC receiver chhanel (in IB: Integration Directory), to call a function moule in a R/3,
which kind of user should i use for this purpose, i mean to say,
    which user type:
                    SYSTEM
                    Dialog
                    Communication
                    System
                    Reference
and what should be the roles of that user,
which type of the user doesnt gets locked, on wrong attempts

    Hi,
Generally S_RFC and S_SERVICE authorizations  are nedded while calling RFC module from R3. Also check for role S_RFC_ADM
The backend should have the authorization to execute the RFC on the backend.
You can test the module in R3 and create a role using PFCG assign the tcode - SU53 (authorization check) and also assign the S_RFC and S_SERVICE to role.
    Refer
    RFC Logon user authorizations
Question on service userid - for RFC call
    End User Authorizations and Roles
    Calling R3 RFC via http
For RFC different authorization object is requried. You can ask your basis team to add the relevant authorization object in a new role and then add the new role to any existing service user or better create a new system user and add the role.
    Thanks

  • RFC receiver config withload balancing ?

    Hi Guys,
I have configured the RFC receiver with load balancing. I have given the sap receiver system details and the name of the message server as sapms+SID.
I am getting the following error in PI, which says message server is unknown and i tested in the receiver system and the message server with this name exists.
what could be the problem,  any helkp would be appreciated
    Thanks,
    srini

    Hi Srini,
I dont have access to system now.
<i>You dont need to create the logon group.</i>
For logon group ask your BASIS team. Alternatively if you have access to SLD then go to technical system details for the SAP system.
You will find all the logon groups mentioned there.
If you dont see there, then check in the SAP logon pad. Check detail entry for the SAP system. You will find the logon group mentioned there.
For paramter details see SAP help for RFC adapter.

  • Excel requests to enter the logon information when I try to open a report

    Hi everybody,
I have the following problem: I run a web report and I exported this report in excel. The report contain a gif image - the symbol of hierarchy. When I saved the xls file, the source of xls file makes reference at SAP server by the following link:
    <img src="http://<sapserver>/SAP/BW/Mime/BEx/Analyzer/hieric1.gif"> </img>.
So, when I try to open this xls, the sistem requests me to enter logon information, and I don't want to require this information (I send this xls file to another persons who don't have users in SAP system).
So, the question is: is there possible that when I export to xls, the saved file doesn't make reference at SAP Server in order to sent this xls files to another person ?
    Thanks in advance
    Florina M.

    Hi Florina,
I am not sure which version of BW you are using, but have you looked at trying to email the .xls from BW? Or another option is to use the SAP BW OLE DB provider for excel and create a workbook for them to consume.
It seems to me that since the URL is going to log on the BW system, the person who access it will need a sap log on.
    Cheers! Bill

We have checked the database configuration in CMC for this report. BI system hostname and the other necessary credentials are fine.

  • The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or inco

getting below error while opening a report from infoview
The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect.
    Unable to retrieve Object.
The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect.
They can open the same report from crystal designer. We have checked the database and it is pointing to correct one in process->database of CMC.
They have created the report with windows NT credentials.
Can any one help in this regard.
    Thanks,
    Gokul.

How did you set up NT auth on the report? With CR Designer I'd assume you are using a trusted connection? Which option did you choose in the CMC for DB credentials? Prompt, same login, or SSO (I don't have the CMC screen in front of me right now so I'm abbreviating the options)?

    Marwan,
Better check with the DBA. It looks like some setup issue. Apache log will provide more details.

  • RFC Receiver Adapter Problem- Sending Blank XML Node

    Hi,
I'm using the RFC receiver adapter to call a RFC in R/3 from XI 3.0
In the payload XML one node is blank as I want to pass a blank parameter to the RFC. But in R/3 the blank node is getting converted to #
Can anyone suggest how can I pass a blank node while calling the RFC using RFC receiver adapter in XI 3.0?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dipankar

    Hey
Please check the outbound payload in sxmb_moni and RWB,if the field is blank there, then it means that PI is passing correct value to ECC.its possible that RFC has been coded in such a way that it converts blank spaces to #.Please look at RFC documentation in that case and see if it helps more.
If the outbound payload itself in PI is showing as # instead of blank, then check the message mapping in PI.
    Thanx
    Aamir

  • The database logon information for this report is either incomplete

    Hello All
I have installed a full licensed version of crystal reports server 2008 onto a windows server 2003 virtual server.
I am getting the following error message when trying to run some reports when i am logged in as the adminstrator
'The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect.'
Some reports work and some dont, I use the same login information for all reports, same username and same password, same machine datasource and all the reports  run fine in crystal designer 2008
The only difference i can see is that the error mainly occurs with reports that use stored procedures, the ones that dont work fine.
I not sure how to resolve this problem as i have tested the login and the datasoure and it works fine, just not through crystal reports server

Further to this i've realized that this only happens with reports which have been updated to use a stored procedure from a query file. And the reports dont use any repository objects
