RFC Response Error in XI
Dear team,
In my SOAP to RFC scenario, Im facing the error. The is two message mappings in my scenario.
One is between SOAP Req MT and RFC Import str . Second one is b/w RFC.Response and SOAP RESP MT. While Im testing with XMLSPY the request mapping is executed successfully. the RFC executes its functionality successfully in SAP[updating data in atransaction]. The RFC response should be "SUCCESS" or "FAILURE".*Even if we check RFc individually its working fine and giving response as SUCCESS / FAILURE* .
BUT
In my case I got the below error in MONI in Response message .The INBOUNDMESSAGE(CENTRAL)->Payload contains the below response. So obviously the response mapping failed in XI . Why im getting this error. BUT RFC functionlity working in SAP , but response getting error .
Failure case:
- <rfc:ZRFC_USAGE_DEC.Exception xmlns:rfc="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions">
<Name>JCO_ERROR_XML_PARSER</Name>
<Text>Expecting a tag to begin with '<' instead of '#', in "#F#A#I#L#U"</Text>
</rfc:ZRFC_USAGE_DEC.Exception>
SUCCESS case:
- <rfc:ZRFC_USAGE_DEC.Exception xmlns:rfc="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions">
<Name>JCO_ERROR_XML_PARSER</Name>
<Text>Expecting a tag to begin with '<' instead of '#', in "#S#U#C#C#E"</Text>
</rfc:ZRFC_USAGE_DEC.Exception>
Thanks.
-Drumi
I have done cache refresh, cross checked MT strucures.
SOAP Response MT structure is
--->MT
>REsponse
RFC.REpsonse Structureis...
--->RFC.RESPONSE
>Response

Hi All,
JDBC(Sender)-XI-RFC (Request)
RFC (Response)-XI-JDBC(Receiver).
Need some solution for sending email for successfully completion of scenario after updating SQL DB Table.
Let me explain the scenario:
We are pooling the SQL DB table to pull the records and map the records to RFC request parameters, after successful Posting the entries in R3 HR, RFC response contain the same with E (Error) S (Success) records status, we are updating the same in SQL DB table, I implemented the complete scenario without BPM with the help of module processor in Sending JDBC Adapter, scenario is working fine but now we have to send the successful mail to our support team with status contain Number of success, Error and total records as email.
I need the solution how to implement the same requirement in current scenario.
Is their way to do something with the RFC receiver adapter module addition to send the successful mail or generating Alert with all the description?
I am at PI 7.0 SP12 with HP unix box.
Thanks in Advance for creative idea
With Regards
SunilHi Bhavesh,
Thanks for your help and your blog is really helpful. I implemented the UDF for generating Email Alert but this alert is generating before Updating the SQL Database, is their any way to generate alert after updating the SQL.
Actually in my scenario we are sending the data from SQL to R3 by RFC and again updating the SQL status whatever the RFC return, after successfully updating SQL we need to send success email to support people but if we are sending the email before updating the DB then their will be problem.
JDBC receiver after updating the SQL DB returns the response with No. of row updated but how to capture this response, if we can capture this response then we can send email through email adapter even their is one more problem, In my scenario I am counting the number of rows with status S and E and sending the same in alert email but if are sending email after updating the SQL DB where can hold the row count value and use it while sending the email.
Implemented the scenario without using BPM..i am using sender JDBC module processor for Syn-Asyn bridge.
Even I do not find the link to reward point. Please let me know how to do it.
With Regards

no need for any header mapping in that case
just configure the routing correctly - via directory wizard
and everything will work

Error : 500 ->Internal Server Errors
Generally this is due to Server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
Possible Tips: Have a look into SAP Notes u2013 804124, 807000
Check your SAP details again on the Receiver CC, check for your authorizations ( go to R/3 and try to execute the RFC with the logon details you gave in the CC )
Check the logon details you gave in the RFC
Check if the adapter engine is up and running, to isolate this send other scenario which was working..
Also, check the following.
File->XI->RFC (Error: Received HTTP response code 500..)
Re: HTTP response code 500 : Error during parsing of SOAP header
HTTP response contains status code 500 with the description Internal Server

Hi,
I have RFC XI BPM Jdbc scenario, in which, I am raising an exception when database connection fails, and sending a message back to the RFC like "failed". But I am not getting any mapping error in the repository, but couldnot map at runtime....when I see in the Technical Workflow, I see "Mapping NOt found".
Could you please help on this issue.
Thanks,
Raj.hi Raj,
>>>>and sending a message back to the RFC like "failed".
you need to map jdbc request to RFC.response
in the <b>exception branch</b> to do the mapping correctly
(this is the only way)
remember to refresh the cache (SXI_CACHE)

RFC DeliveryException: error
Hi,
I am working on <b>DB2(Asyn)-SAP(Sync)-DB2(Asyc)</b> using BPM. I do understand based on the SAP notes 730870 that the either the XML-RPC format or the parameters to the funcation module might be incorrect.
In my message mapping from JDBC to RFC under the <u>message tab </u>of the mapping screen I have 1 for JDBC occurances and 0..unbounded for the RFC as I will be selecting multiple rows from db. Currently in the MI mapping I have source and target as 1 occurances each, when I change the occurances in the target side to "0...unbounded" I do not see the response when I read the interfaces.
In this case do I need to change any thing in my BPM and is this causing this error ?
Bye the way my BPM is : Receive- Synch Send - Send.
<b>Error from SXMB_MONI:</b>
<SAP:AdditionalText>com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: error while processing message to remote system:com.sap.aii.af.rfc.core.client.RfcClientException: functiontemplate from repository was <null></SAP:AdditionalText>
Appreciate your help in resolving this error.
Thanks
Steve.
Message was edited by: Steve HollandKrishna,
When I changed the occurances to 1 and 1:1 mapping and tested MM using the payload from MONI, I am not getting any output at all.
Test result says <b>cannot produce the target element(first element)</b>.
My source structure based on the db is
SOURCE_DT
<Rows> --- 1..unbounded.
<field1>
</Row>
When I tried the rows of multi-occurance with 1:N mapping and I had the RFC execution error, but mapping was working.
Thanks

RFC response is IT_RETURN instead of RETURN
Hi All,
I am working with Custom RFC when I am sending the request not getting any thing showing the error as "com.sap.aii.adapter.rfc.util.bapi.BapiException: Parameter with name RETURN not found".
When executed in function builder SE37 working fine returning values table in IT_RETURN. Is it mandatory to maintain a RFC response as RETURN otherwise RFC Adapter won't understand?
Could you please help me on this.

Regards,
Mahesh.Hi,
Please follow this steps:
Creating RFC Destinations in the ABAP and Java Environment
You need to create the following RFC destinations in transaction SM59 (ABAP) and the Visual Administrator (Java):
u2022 AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER
u2022 AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER
u2022 LCRSAPRFC
u2022 SAPSLDAPI
Depending on your client settings, it may be necessary to be logged on your SAP Exchange Infrastructure host as SAP system user with the authorization to maintain customizing tables and to release transport orders. Note, that user "SAP*" or "DDIC" does not have these authorizations.
Maintaining the RFC Connections (Transaction SM59)
1. Log on to your SAP Exchange Infrastructure central instance host.
2. Call transaction SM59.
3. Choose Create.
4. Enter at least the following:
RFC destination: AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER
Connection type: T
Description: <your description>
5. Choose ENTER
6. Choose the tab Technical settings and do the following:
a. Select Registered Server Program
b. In the Program ID field, enter: AI_RUNTIME_<SID> where <SID> is the SAP system ID of your Integration Server host. Use uppercase letters only.
c. Enter Gateway host and Gateway service of your Integration Server host. To find out the required parameters:
a. On the Integration Server host, call transaction SMGW
b. Choose Goto u2192 Parameters u2192 Display (see entries for gateway hostname and gateway service)
7. Choose tab Special Options and select the flag Unicode in the box Character Width in Target System.
8. Save your settings.
9. Repeat the steps 3 u2013 8 for the remaining destinations:
Destination
Values
AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER
Program ID: AI_DIRECTORY_<SID>, where <SID> is the SAP system ID of your SAP XI host
LCRSAPRFC
Program ID: LCRSAPRFC_<SID>, where <SID> is the SAP system ID of your SAP XI host.
SAPSLDAPI
Program ID: SAPSLDAPI_<SID>, where <SID> is the SAP system ID of your SAP XI host.
10. Leave the transaction SM59 open for later tests.
J2EE Configuration for the Destinations (Visual Administrator)
1. On your SAP Exchange Infrastructure central instance host, start the J2EE Engine administration tool.
2. Choose Cluster u2192 Server u2192 Services u2192 JCo RFC Provider
3. In the section RFC destination, enter exactly the same program ID and gateway options for AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER that you used in the step Maintaining the RFC connection above. Additionally, set the number of processes to 10.
4. In the section Repository, do the following:
a. Enter the parameter for the SAP XI host: Application Server, System Number, Client and Language.
b. For User and Password maintain the login parameters for the user SAPJSF.
c. Select the flag Unicode.
6. Choose Set.
7. Repeat the steps 3 u2013 6 for the remaining destinations:
Destination
Values
AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER
u2022 Corresponding values from SM59
u2022 Number of processes: 10
LCRSAPRFC
u2022 Corresponding values from SM59
u2022 Number of processes: 3
SAPSLDAPI
u2022 Corresponding values from SM59
u2022 Number of processes: 3
Testing the RFC Destination
After you have maintained all RFC destinations in both the ABAP and Java environment, you can check all the connections above as follows:
1. Call transaction SM59 again.
2. Open your RFC destination.
3. Choose Test Connection. No error should be displayed.
This will solve your problem.
Thanks

Also I am not able to register this program id in Visual Admin -> Services -> JCo RFC Provider. Here it is giving me an error. Can anyone guide me in this?
Points to be rewarded for any kind of small help. Thanks Ramesh.
I followed the blog. Here are the steps that I did.
RFC destination:
1. To create the RFC go to TCODE: SM59 <b>-> Done</b>2. Create new destination of type T (TCP/IP) <b>-> Done</b>
3. Make sure you select Registered Server Program option before writing your program ID <b>-> Done</b>
4. Write you program ID (remember it's case-sensitive) <b>-> gave the SID name</b>
5. In the gateway host and gateway service write the values of your "Application system" - business system (not the XI server) <b>-> Typed the gateway hostname and gateway service "sapgw<instance no>", that I got from SMGW.</b>
But still I face the same problem. It get the following error:

I tried the following fixes spread across different threads in this Expert Forums:
1. Someone said network problem. I rebooted, restarted the install and even redo it.
2. Another suggestion was to use caps on the password. Didnt work.
3. One suggestion was to update the keydb.xml file. However, I could find such property name:
search for the table t_SAPComponent_SAPSystemLogon_SHARED
then look for <fld name="pPW">, <properties>,
<property name ="GUIENG_USER_INPUT" and set the value
"GUINEG_TRUE" to "GUIENG_FALSE".
4. I even used the ddic password 19920706 which is supposed to be the default.
5. Restarted the instance and applied all the fixes above.
Does anyone know what is going on base on the logs above? Thanks.try moving all your install disk onto local file system then rerun the install. That might work....
