RFC sap- as400
Hi everybody's,
I've a problem regarding definition of an RFC destination. Using a RFC function I've to call a non sap abap program; particularly the program resides on as400 server. I've defined a TCP/IP rfc destination in which I've specified the ip of as400 and the name of the program that I need to call. I'm sure that ip is correct because of two systems ping each others, but if I test the connection system responses with the error: "CM_RESOURCE_FAILURE_RETRY". I've searched some oss notes and finally I suppose that some parametrization misses on as400; for example some oss notes ask if a remote shell is enabled onto as400. Someone of you as an idea to verify if a remote shell is present on as400?
A second idea should be that a gateway R/3 misses onto as400; how is possible to install a R/3 gateway on as400?
Thank you in advance
Mike

SOAP service /sap/bc/soap/rfc/sap does not exist
Hi!
I implement ABAP-Proxy to SOAP scenario.
For the receiver communication channel (SOAP Adapter) I need to put target-URL
http://<server>:8000/sap/bc/soap/rfc/sap/BAPI_MATERIAL_EXISTENCECHECK?sap-client=200.
Unfortunately the URL cannot be displayed in brwoser.
I also could not detect the appropriate SICF service sap/bc/soap/rfc/sap under tcode SICF.
Can some one help me to solve this problem?
Thank you very much!

HolgerHi!
What is the difference between the both URL's?
http://<server>:8000/sap/bc/soap/wsdl11?services=BAPI_NAME&sap-client=200
http://<server>:8000/sap/bc/soap/rfc/sap/BAPI_MATERIAL_EXISTENCECHECK?sap-client=200.

Scenario XI - HTTP - Webservice - XI - RFC - SAP R/3
Hi,
i have the scenario:
Sending request to an Webservice per HTTPS and catch the response. This is working fine. In transaction sxmb_moni i can see the answer as XML.
I have implemented the scenario response from webservice mapped into RFC-Function and send into SAP R/3. But i have to run this manuell! How can i run this automatically after getting the response from the Webservice.
Thanks for any answere,
MaxHi Max,

BPM: Multiple synchronous receivers
Synchronous - Synchronous BPM
Synchronous BPM start
Regards,
Laurent.
Reward points if helpfull. -
Hi all,
I have the requirement to work on SAP R/3 ( with client 100 by using outbound Proxy)-->XI--->RFC(R/3 Client 222).
i have done IR & ID Part. Now i am going to create Report in R/3 side (100 client). But, it is synchronous, i am getting so much confusion. Please help me how to write the code for it.
The RFC is BAPI_EXCHANGERATE_GETDETAIL.
I created Request message, Response message for sender.
The message mappings are as follows:
For Request:
Sender Request------> BAPI Request
For Response:
BAPI Response---->Sender Response.
Interface mapping
Sender Interface---->BAPI.
Request message contains the fields:
Rate Type,
SourceCurrency,
TargetCurrency,
Response Message contains:
Exchange rate,
FactorFromRatio
FactorToRatio.
Please try to understand this requiement and help me to write code for this.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Nagarjuna.Hi Nagarjun,
If you look at the exporting and importing paramters of your Method EXECUTE_SYNC...
You would find the abap equivalent of your Message Type. Hence you know all the fields.
No it depends on the business Logic, or ratheer what the RFC is suppose to be requested for is filled in an an Input paramter to the Method.
This can be an IDOC To, in that case your MT should be similar. Fill in the transmiaaion IDOC values.
OR you can Actually harcode the values, make your Itab, and send it across ( as this is just for test purposes )
Hope this helps.

RFC( SAP R/3) to XI to 3rd party Application
Hi All,
we have an 3rd party application to which we want to send some data from R/3. We are using XI as the middleware. The process has to be triggered from R/3 side. We are not using Idoc's here. We are planing to use the RFC through which the data transfer has to be done.
We are creating a BAPI with import, export and tables parameters.Basically the RFC is in SAP R/3 System. We need to send the data in the table to XI.
In this case how the RFC destination has to be created and how the RFC to be called in the R/3 system to export the Data to XI system.
Answers are highly appreciated.
Thanx and Regards,
Durga.Hi,
<i>>>>In this case how the RFC destination has to be created</i>
Check this blog by Michal it shows you step by step
/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/29/configuring-the-sender-rfc-adapter--step-by-step
<i>>>>how the RFC to be called in the R/3 system to export the Data to XI system.</i>
Hope you are aware of normal way of calling function
CALL Function "FM Name"
Export
Tables
in this case the RFC should be called as follows
CALL Function "FM Name" destination <SM59 Destination>
Export
Tables
The above is for Sync call and if you want to make a Async call that is you are not expecting any reponse from the target then
CALL Function "FM Name" IN BACKGROUND TASK destination <SM59 Destination>
Export
Tables

Java JCo SAP XI RFC SAP R/3 6.C ... Unicode issue
Hello,
My scenario is very simple. I'd like to connect a Java program to a SAP R/3 (MDMP) for RFC calls (in both direction), using SAP XI (some of the RFC calls will redirected to some other systems). I use SAP JCo v2.1.8 and tried with Java 1.4.2_09 and Java 6.0.
It works well when the Java program is calling a function module, but when SAP R/3 is doing it, the returned texts looks like: S#A#P# #J#C#o# #v#2#.#1#.#8# #(#2#0#0#6#-#1#2#-#1#1#)# (the text should be SAP JCo v2.1.8).
It looks like an issue with Unicode. Although I didn't check the Unicode checkbox in the RFC sender adapter (the RFC receiver one doesn't offer the possibility to specify unicode or not).
Do anyone have a solution ? Is it a code in the Java program or something to set in SAP XI / SAP R/3 ?
Thanks in advance for your help. This is a workaround solution. In the case of this prototype it is ok, but the final plan is to migrate a web based application. It was directly connected to one SAP R/3, but now we would like to connect it to SAP XI because a few RFC calls will be re-directed to some other systems, but the majority of them will we'll still be sent to the SAP R/3. We don't want to make development on this part for cost reason (and time). Plus on some text there are the "#" character that is legitimate.

RFC- SAP XI- PLAINHTTP SYNC causing Problem
Hi,
I am trying to set up a Scenario that sends a synchronous
Request from SAP via RFC to a selfwritten HTTP Receiver,
using the Plain HTTP Adapter. I want to receive my request
by my server (that part works allready)and send my response through the same connection back.
Everytime I send something back I get an

My response looks like this (and references the request message ID)

1. Is that scenario working that way?
2. If not, what do I have to response(message format)?
Please help, I am new to that HTTP Stuff...
Kind regards
DanielHi Robin and all,
maybe I need to make that more clear,
I build a complete synchronous scenario in ID,
RFC -> XI -> PLAINHTTP everythings works fine until my
Java program catches the response message,
when I try to use the still open connection (through
that Xi has allready sended my the request) to put the
XML-Message (Response message type referenced at the
response tab of my synchronous interface)back, I get a
time out in XI.
1. Question: Can I use the socket object in my Java
progtam to send my response directly back
2. If yes what besides the XML message payload is needed
3. Will I have to reference the incoming Message ID to
make clear my message is the synchronous response?
Thanks for helping me with that.. (answer will be rewarded)
Daniel
with a synchronous Interface on inbound (HTTP) side and
I catch
the sendes request message from HTTP Plain Adapter in my
Java Program (socket server object),
I keep the connection open and I through the same
connection the Response Payload (which is
the XML representation from my Response - Message Type
as defined in XI), looks like this: -
Visual Basic RFC SAP no-unicode. Latin2 Caracteres are converted in '#'
Hi,
I are inserting data in Z SAP tables from a Visual Basic Script.
I are doing a RFC call.
The problem is that the data type text aren´t iserting correct when its are Latin2 caracteres.
Example:
Text in Visual Basic: "Prevozni strou0161ki-železniu0161ki"
But when theRFC function inserts the data in SAP, SAP shows "Prevozni stro#ki-#elezni#ki".
Could somebody help me??
thanks in adavanced,
JaviThanks for your answer.
But i din´t solve the problem.
I changed the encoding to UTF-16 and ISO-8859-5 but the caracteres are inserting bad yet :(.
I'm debugging the visual basic code and I can see that the text is correct in Visual Basic, but after it is incorrect in SAP.
Too, I'm inserting the value directly in visual basic sourcecode:
T_BAPI_P.Value(index, "TXZ01") = "Prevozni strou0161ki-železniu0161ki NOVO"
But the result is the same.
SAP shows "Prevozni stro#ki-#elezni#ki NOVO".
I have seen that in the transaction SM59 you can specify if the RFC conexion will be UNICODE.
The SAP system that i am working isn´t unicode, then it can not the tag to especificate this in SM59.
Could it be the problem that the SAP system isn´t unicode??
sorry, for my English's low level.
Thanks in advanaced for all yousr answer!

How Configurate RFC SAP Bussines ONE / ECC 5.0
Dear Parther.
Please you help with following.
Excume, I not have answers fot it.
I find notes and technical information, how configurate SAP BUSSSINES ONE integration
with ECC 5.0. I need Integrate SAP BUSSINES ONE Via RFC with ECC 5.0
I find notes of internet and SAP, not found.
Alexander Tapiero RodriguezAlexander,
The typical way to integrate ECC 5 and SAP Business One is using the SAP Business One Integration for SAP NetWeaver or B1i. Even using B1i, the integration point between SAP Business One and B1i is via the Java Conector or JCO for SAP Business One ... not RFC. The RFC conncetion is from B1i to ECC.
If you are trying to connect SAP Business One to ECC 5 without B1i ... I am not aware of notes on how to do this. You may want to post this question in the ECC forum as they may have some insights for you.

Hi,
We have a situation where Web Portal makes an RFC call. We are thinking about limiting the number of users that can log onto the portal simultaneously.
What are the performance issues related to maximum number of simultaneous calls to this RFC? If say 100 log into the site simultaneously, 100 RFC calls would be generated. Will there be any performance related issues?
ThanksHello,
Generally if data is structured properly,it should not create problems.
What causes problem for such RFC calls is amount of time SAP takes to respond .If you have RFC which is not wirtten in good way (for optimised performance) then SAP takes lots of execution time to return data back to calling application & that sometimes is an issue for users who would not like to wait for 30-40 seconds just to get some data based on which they will go ahead & decide further actions.
Hope this helps.
Thanks. -

Scenario SAP R/3 --(RFC)-- XI--(RFC)-- JCo.Server
Hello,
I am wondering if anyone can send me some feeback for such scenario. SAP R/3 version is 4.6c, SAP XI is 3.0 and JCo are 2.0.12.
I am having some trouble which I think are link to the fact that the SAP XI is Unicode and not the JCo.Server ... However I was thinking SAP XI will adapt, since it works well for scenario SAP R/3 (RFC)> XI (RFC)> SAP R/3.
Thanks for your feeback.Hi Grégory,
I guess I faced a similar problem, the problem was that in the receiver RFC adapter you have to specify both an RFC target system and a system to lookup the metadata.
The target RFC system hat to have the same unicodeness of the metadata lookup system that means in your case that if jco server is non unicode also you R3 has to be non unicode otherwhise it will not (never) work, because this is a mandatory requirement of the RFC adapter.
In my case this was not possible so I was redirecting the RFC call to the ABAP stack of XI (where I had exposed the same function module which was simply recalling the same function module to the target system) and it worked/works.

Reset or Clear SAP user context by external RFC caller program
Hello,
I have a SAP system with performance problems due to a SAP user context starts using a lot of memory.
This user context comes from an External RFC caller program written in Delphi and which uses the SAP RFC SDK provided by SAPGUI 6.40: SAP Automation library, SAPFuntionsOCX, I mean, using methods in the object "SAPFunctions" in SAPFunctionsOCX in file "wdtfuncU.ocx", in SAPGUI directory.
Everytime we have performance problems, this RFC SAP user context is using near 1400 Mb of extended memory, although there is a lot of free physical RAM memory available, there are free dialog processes and CPU load is low (no more than 30%).
This performance problem is solved by closing the external program (written in Delphi) which connects to SAP via RFC.
This external program works for the warehouse management and connects to SAP several times per minute. Due to connection performance and the high frequency with which this external program must connect to SAP, the connection to SAP is not closed after each call to RFC SAP function modules.
The extended memory used by this SAP RFC user is growing along time. I detected, using ST03 transaction, that these user sessions have always the same transaction code hash, I mean, although the external programs call the same SAP RFC funcion modules several times (¡¡¡ always clearing the variables at the beginning and at the end of de ABAP code, with ABAP commands like REFRESH and FREE ¡¡¡¡) the technical transaction code is the same and I suppose the user context (in extended memory) is not deleted.
I think it is better than the external program close the context memory (similar to "/n" okcode in SAPGUI).
But we don't want to close the connection, because the external program connects to SAP with a high frequency, and the logon process is expensive.
Is there any way to send something similar to "/n" (end of transaction) from the external program? Is there any command in the SAP RFC SDK library (SAPFuntionsOCX or something similar?
I cannot find any method to do that in the object "SAPFunctions" in SAPFunctionsOCX in file "wdtfuncU.ocx", in SAPGUI directory.
Old information for Object Classes "SAPFunctions" in SAPFunctionsOCX in file "wdtfuncU.ocx", in SAPGUI directory, is described in the following URL:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_45b/helpdata/en/39/7e00d1ac6011d189c60000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
But I cannot find anything related to something similar to a "/n" in SAPGUI.
As I have the SAPGUI installed on my desktop, I can see all SAP RFC classes and methods from Excel, by opening the Visual Basic editor.
I am only asking a way to send to SAP a command to free the user context used for an open RFC session in order to avoid the memory used to be continuously growing, without having to close the RFC session.
The external program only calls a certain SAP function module periodically and we want to free the user context between calls without logging off. This is the same, very similar, as if we called that function from SAPGUI and we used "/n" in SAPGUI between calls.
Anyone can help me?
Thanks and best regards.Hello,
I don't know if this will solve your problem, but you may be using MF 'RFC_CONNECTION_CLOSE' between each call of you RFC function.
Regards
Brice
