RFC Sender EOIO, is it possible?

Hi !
We have a RFC-XI-FTP scenario. We need to build files in the FTP server using the contents received by the RFC sender from R/3.
The problem is that we need to ensure that the files are rebuilt exactly on the FTP server side.
We are NOT allowed to use FTP from the sender side (FTP-XI-FTP).
Is it possible to receive the RFC calls in order in XI and then create the destination file (append mode) using the messages in the exact same sent order ?? how ?
Thanks,
Matias.

Hi Matias,
for sender RFC adapter the quality of service EOIO is not supported.
This is in some way available for the receiver RFC adapter: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/33/c6e63b60c25767e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
BTW, why don't you use a proxy to file or idoc to file scenario? with that you could set the quality of service to EOIO directly from the sender system (for idoc on WAS >6.40).
Hope it helps,
Kind Regards,
Sergio

  • RFC Sender Adapter in XI..Possible??

    Hi All,
I am trying to send data from XI using RFC Sender Adapter.
Have done all the configuration, ie created a tcp/ip destination in SM59 and then in the RFC adapter mentioned the program name.
In Adapter monitoring i can see the adapter working fine.
When i execute the Function Mouldule i get the following error in SM58.
    parameter JCO.Request was <null> (server: RfcServer[CC_RFC_TX1_OUT]1)
Can anyone please lemme know if we can send data from XI box using RFC sender adapter.
    Regards,
    Sumit

    Sumit,
Technically specking this should be possible.. I Havent tried it though..
So, you are using a Sender RFC to send data from XI to XI itself uh?
I have tried configuring a Receievr RFC adapter pointing to XI and it has worked fine.
Also, take a look at these blogs if your config is correct,

  • Call rfc sender adapter from non-sap systems

    Hi,
is ist possible to connect to an rfc sender adapter from non-sap systems? I want to use the the RFC-Connector from http://rfcconnector.com, but in the client connect options there is no way to specify the program id.
    Best regards,
    Daniel

    hi,
you don't need to use RFC type T (with program ID) - you can use whole connection string - just like in the example:
    http://www.rfcconnector.com/documentation/examples/client/#functioncall
so just specify: host system number etc.
it should work like that - but let me know as I don't know this RFC connector

  • Rfc sender to soap recever (sync comunication in sender and recever side)

this scenario is from RFC sender(synchronous) to SOAP receiver adapter(synchronous)
RFC sender adapter (synchronous):  r3 will send some details as request and it will get back 3 new fields as response.
SOAP receiver adapter(synchronous): webservice receve the details and it will send newly created 3 new fields in SQL database.
    1) i am sending product details from R3 to xi using RFC sender adapter.
    2) Details will be send From XI to webservice using receiver SOAP  adapter.
    3) The purpose of providing webservice by SQL database team : they want to receive the details from webservice to SQL database, once data base receves details through webservice, it will create the 3 new fields , then these fields will be returned to webservice . IS IT POSSIBLE?
    4) Response(3 newly created fields by SQL database) will be send back to SOAP adapter by webservice
5)Xi sends these 3 new fields to the RFC sender adapter(responce), with the help of RFC adapter 3 new fields will be posted into R3
    Thanks,
    siva

    Siva,
I think it is depending on approach...both approach sounds good.
But if databse team providing you webservice..i think you can go with this.
Anyway future would be  webservice for all communication..:)

  • Polling with RFC Sender Adapter

    Hi,
i am facing a general problem with the rfc sender adapter.
I have to design a scenario where periodically pi has to call a rfc fuba/bapi in R3 and insert the response into a database or create a file.
I looked for some possibilities to impelement this scenario and desided to use ABAP Proxies to transfer the data from R3 to pi.
The problem is that the wish of the department for R3 is not to plan a job to send the files. They want that pi itself call periodically the fuba in R3. I found out that the rfc sender adapter is not able to poll like jdbc oder file adapter.
I thought i could write a litte abap program in pi to be planned in a job or to create a dummy file and poll with the file adapter. But i mean that these solutions are not good. They feel like workarounds and not like a real good solution.
Beside this there is also the problem that we could use the inubit integration system. inubit is able to poll periodically the rfc adapter and is it hard to argument against this.
Are there any good solutions known for the problem?
Does anyone know what the official SAP meaning is for a process like the described above?
    many thanks

    hi,
    1st: your R3 department is stupid (!).
As your flow is ECC -> PI -> Database. you could easily create a litle extraction program with a selection screen (and a variant which could be easily updated !!) (1) to send data to PI (by using a proxy or an idoc), with a log (at end of your program) and to create easily (!!) a sap job (ecc) based  on a country calendar (2).
2nd: If you really need to have "PI -> ECC (proxy)-> PI -> JDBC", you have to use the standard PI scheduler tool, called "Availibility time planning" (ATP). see this option in CC monitoring (RWB). you could trigger your sender CC (proxy)
And if you want, another possibility could be to trigger your sender CC by an external tools (to buy), or by creating an abap program....
    (1) how you will pass the value to extract data with your solution (my 2nd point).
    (2) in ATP of PI, the scheduling will be NOT based on a country calendar (holiday, religious/bank holiday), but just daily, weekly, inside a range, etc...

  • R3 (rfc-sender) - XI - Webservice ( soap-receiver)

    Hi,
I am getting below error whenever webservice(target system) is unavailable.
    HTTP 404 Not Found
Then RFC got failed in R3, due to this error in XI
    R3 (rfc-sender) <-> XI <-> Webservice ( soap-receiver) Synch
User will enter the request data in R3 and waiting for the response, but webservice is down(i.e not available)
Request is reached to XI box and XI is trying to send data when webservice is down( i,e not available), RFC is waiting for the response from XI box.
how we will handle this kind of situation, how should i give response back to RFC( because RFC sent the request and waiting for the response, XI could not send any response back as Webservce is down, Please advice me how should XI inform to the end user r R3 abt webservice.
I am getting this error to my mail box as i have configured ALERTS. i do not want to change existing RFC.
is there any chance to send response to R3 even webservice is down, please can any one suggest.

    Hi siva,
check this blog on HTTP errors.
    /people/krishna.moorthyp/blog/2006/07/23/http-errors-in-xi
May be the URL you have given in SOAP at receiver adapter is wrong.Check that once.
    Error: 404 Not Found
Description: The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address. This status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable.
    Possible Tips:- for HTTP_RESP_STATUS_CODE_NOT_OK 404
u2022 404 is an HTTP response code that indicates that the resource in question couldn't be found. Usually this is due to an incorrect URL, so it is better to cross check all URLs. Check pipeline URL in the SLD in the business system of the Integration Server For this go to SLD->Business System-><yourIntegrtaion Server>->Pipeline URL: It should be like this http://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry Where host is the host name of the Integration Server and port is the HTTP(8xxx) port. To verify this in Integration Server you can do like this. Go to SXMB_ADM->Integration Engine Configuration->Choose Edit from Menu -> Change Global Configuration Data to switch to change mode. Then select System Landscape - Load Configuration. (This is not required always)
u2022 Check that the port really is the ICM HTTP Port and not the J2EE port i.e SMICM then menu GOTO --> SERVICES and check the port number for HTTP. It should be HTTP port
u2022 If the error is Page cannot be displayed, cannot find server in https configurations Check and correct the SSL configuration for the ABAP and the J2EE side of the system
u2022 If the error is because of integration server when using Proxy communications then check these. i.e SXMB_ADM->Integration Engine Configuration->Corresponding Integration Server enrty should be dest://<Http Integration server-Destination> Where < Http Integration server -Destination > is the RFC destination (SM59) of type HTTP connection (type H) to the Integration Server. In this case, host name, port, and path prefix are saved in the RFC destination.
    Thanks,
    Vijaya.

  • RFC Sender Channel

    Hi Experts,
I am dealing with RFC channel(sender). How can we incorporate Qos in RFC??
It's taking BE by default. But how to make it EO and EOIO?
    Please suggest
    T& R
    Sushama

    For EO, see this
    /people/swaroopa.vishwanath/blog/2006/12/28/send-rfc-to-sap-xi-150-asynchronous
EOIO is not supported for standard RFC sender. An adapter module may help. It would be better to achieve EOIO behavior using ABAP Proxy.

  • Verify Sender System - Communication channel RFC sender

    Dear all,
We would like to select the option "Verify sender system" in our communication channel, RFC sender.
Do you know the correct parameters that we need to set? SYS-ID, CLIENT?
It would be nice to have an example.
    Our PI version: PI7.11
Thanks you very much in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Olivier Vanderperre

For non-SAP systems we do not set these parameters.....we do not check this option Verify Sender System
Is it to trust other non SAP systems
actually we do not set this option for non-SAP system becuase it is not possible to set the SID and Client details in the sender application....whereas when it is an SAP system we are able to set the details and hence verify them in XI/ PI.

  • RFC sender. Quality Service

    Hello,
Where indicated in an RFC sender quality of service? Default it's Best Effort and I want to change it because the interface is asynchronous to EO or EOIO..
what is the difference between the exact EO / EOIO?
    thanks very much

what is the difference between the exact EO / EOIO?
Exactly once and exactly once in order
first on uses transaction RFC and second one uses Queued RFC (Not supportde by RFC adapter).
Exactly once will not follow the order whle exactly once in oreder will follow the order.

    Hi ,
    Go thru this data...
<b>Configuring the Sender RFC Adapter </b>
    <b>Use</b>
You configure the sender RFC adapter so that you can use it to convert RFC calls from a sender to XML messages and send these messages to the Integration Server.
    <b>Integration</b>
You configure the adapter on the Parameters tab page during the definition of a communication channel. In addition to the adapter configuration, on the Module tab page in the module processor, you can specify generic modules, which give the adapter additional functions.
    <b>Prerequisites</b>
           1.      You have created a new communication channel or have opened an existing one.
           2.      On the Parameter tab page you have selected the adapter type RFC.
           3.      You have selected the Sender radio button to define the adapter as a sender adapter.
           4.      The communication channel in which the RFC adapter is defined must be defined for a service of type Business System in the area Service Without Party.
           5.      The specifications in the communication channel must match the specifications for the adapter-specific identifiers for the business system. For more information on adapter-specific identifiers, see:  Service
    <b>Activities</b>
    <b>Transport Protocol</b>
    The transport protocol is RFC.
    <b>Message Protocol</b>
The message protocol is RFC (RFC XML).
    <b>Adapter Engine</b>
Select the Adapter Engine on the Integration Server, or select a non-centrally installed Adapter Engine.
    <b>Adapter Status</b>
Set the adapter to Active to enable messages to be exchanged.
    RFC Server Parameters
The RFC server parameters identify the sender system.
    <b>Specify the following parameters:</b>
    Parameter     Entry
Application server (Gateway)     Gateway host of the sender system
Application server service (Gateway)     Gateway service of the sender system
Program ID     Program ID of the registered server program
Unicode     Select this check box if the sender system is a Unicode system
Initial connections     Number of initial connections required between sender system and adapter
Maximum connections     Maximum possible number of initial connections required between sender system and adapter
Advanced mode     Select this check box if you want to specify additional parameters of the class JCO.Server for the adapter configuration
Enter the name and values of the parameters in the table displayed
    <b>RFC Metadata Repository Parameters</b>
The RFC metadata repository parameters identify the SAP system containing the repository for the RFC metadata. This does not necessarily have to be the sender system.
    <b>Specify the following parameters:</b>
    <b>Parameter     Entry</b>
Load balancing     Select this check box if your SAP system works with load balancing
Application server     Host name of the SAP system (without load balancing)
System number     System number of the SAP system (without load balancing)
Message server     Host name of the message server (with load balancing)
Message server service     Operating system service of the message server or message server port (with load balancing)
System ID     System ID of the SAP system (with load balancing)
Logon group     Logon group for the dynamic logon load (with load balancing)
Authentication Type     Logon data for the SAP system
    User Name     SAP user name
    User Password     SAP user password
    Logon language     SAP logon language
    Client     SAP client
Advanced mode     Select this check box if you want to specify additional parameters of the class JCO.Client for the adapter configuration
Enter the name and values of the parameters in the table displayed
Depending on the SAP system version, the following authorizations are required to read the metadata (authorization object: S_RFC, ACTVT: 16, FUGR):
    Function Groups by R/3 Release
    R/3 Release     Function Groups (FUGRs)
As of 3.1H     RFC1, SG00, SRFC, SUNI, SYST
As of 4.0A     RFC1, SDIF, SG00, SRFC, SYST, SYSU, SUNI
As of 4.6A     RFC1, SDIF, SG00, SRFC, SYST, SYSU
As of 4.6D     RFC1, SDIFRUNTIME, SG00, SRFC, SYST, SYSU
As of SAP Web Application Server 6.20, the role SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO is available, which is used for the user SAPJSF and contains all the required authorizations.

  • Asynch RFC Sender to File Receiver Szenario (table content)

    Hi,
I have the following szenario: RFC(R/3) => XI => File
At the moment I implemented the following:
    1. Z-Report in R/3 calls a function module:
         CALL FUNCTION 'Z_RFC_TO_XML'
            IN BACKGROUND TASK
            DESTINATION xi_dest
            EXPORTING
              it_table = it_table.
          COMMIT WORK.
    2. The RFC Sender Adapter on XI takes the RFC data and convert it to RFC-XML
    3. There is a message mapping from RFC-XML to XML-Structure
    4. The File Receiver Adapter write the XML document to the file system
The scenario is working without error and the file is created. But on R/3 side the it_table is filled with 20 rows before the function module Z_RFC_TO_XML is called. But on xi side I only receive one row (the header line).
Is it possible to transmit the whole table content to xi and not only one row? And if yes, how can I do this?
    Thanks,
    manuku

    Hi Tobias,
Currently am doing this scenarioa RFC to file
    CALL FUNCTION 'Z_RFC_TO_XML'
    >         IN BACKGROUND TASK
    >         DESTINATION xi_dest
    >         EXPORTING
                p_werks = 'Plant no'
               TABLES
    >           it_table = it_table.
    >       COMMIT WORK.
But here am using Exporting and Tables parameter.. When i debug this FM, the debugger is not going to the FM.
Can you help me in solving this issue....

  • R/3 to PI using RFC Sender Adaptor as Asynchronous scenario

    Hello Folks,

I am new to PI and doing a scenario mention above. we are using RFC sender adaptor to send the data to XI in asynchronous process.
I have config the Sender comm. channel as below.
Appl.  Server(Gateway):  My Ecc Server host name
Appl. Server Service (Gateway) : My Ecc server
    Program Id : XYZ.
Note : while creating the the Service interface and Message mapping and Operation mapping I am using the RFCname.respone message type is that ok in asynchronous process?
And then I went to ECC in Tcode SM59 and created a RFC destination of type TCP/IP
and put the same information as given above and test the connection which is working fine.
I have created a FM at ECC end make it remote enabled. and calling the FM in back ground task using destination in a Work flow code.
When I run the Work flow code It ran successfully but i went to XI side there is no msg in the SXMB_MONI.
Then i went to the component monitoring->Adatptor engine>Comm. channnel Monitoring and found that under my RFC sender comm. channel there is an error msg saying
Error in processing caused by: com.sap.aii.adapter.rfc.afcommunication.RfcAFWException: senderAgreement not found: lookup of binding via CPA-cache failed for AdapterType RFC, AdapterNS http://sap.com/xi/XI/System, direction INBOUND, fromParty '', fromService 'BS_ECC', toParty '', toService '', interface 'YFPS_MM_I_0242_PO_APPROVAL_OUT', NS 'urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions' for channel 'CC_0242_PO_Approval_RFC_Sender' (channelId 19585252a58335ee871e4c3a771b027f)
Where as i have checked that in the sxi_cache t-code there is a sender agreement for my scenario under the sender agreement tab.
Please Help me in this to resolve the above error. I am totally stuck at this point.I would really appreciate a quick answer.

Please help me how to solve this problem

    Hi,
    SAP Note 730870 FAQ: XI 3.0 RfcAdapter Q.no 15
<i>Q 15: Whats wrong when the error message "lookup of alternativeServiceIdentifier via CPA-cache failed" shows up while sending a RFC call to the RfcAdapter?
A: A RFC sender channel is located beneath a service within the Integration Directory. Within this service choose "Service" -> "Adapter-Specific Identifiers". The values in the fields "R/3 System ID" and "Client" has to be maintained with the correct values of the system, that sends the RFC call to the RfcAdapter. It normaly only makes sense to have these values filled for services of type "Business System". If maintained in SLD, this fields will be filled automaticaly for services of type "Business System" and can be updated with the button "Compare with System Landscape Directory".</i>
    - Give correct appserver and gateway service details in XI.
    - Open the service holding the RFC adapter you are trying to use. On the top menu, goto Service -> Adapter Specific Identifiers..

    hi
For rfc sender adapter we hv to do some settings .Please chk whether this settings are well configured or not.
    a) RFC destination
    b) RFC channel in the XI directory
This weblog is a response to a few question about the basic configuration of the RFC sender adapter
that were posted on the XI forum (and also on my e-mail)
So here we go, basically we have to configure 2 things:
    a) RFC destination
    b) RFC channel in the XI directory
    RFC destination:
    1. To create the RFC go to TCODE: SM59
    2. Create new destination of type T (TCP/IP)
    3. Make sure you select Registered Server Program option before writing your program ID
    4. Write you program ID (remember it's case-sensitive)
    5. In the gateway host and gateway service write the values of your "Application system" - business system (not the XI server)
    7. No configuration in the J2EE administrator nessecary
Now we can proceed to RFC channel configuration:
    1. Enter your Application Server
    2. Your Application Server Service
    3. Enter your Program ID from the RFC destination
    And we're done:)
Now you can test the RFC destination in SM59 to see if it works.
