  • DS 3.2 ADD NEW RFC INTERFACE ERROR

    Hi,
When I Add a new RFC connection Interface the follow message is returned : Error adding new RFC Server Interface: An error occurred while adding a client: DI_SOURCE@/H/10.0.0.10/S/3302:null (BODI-3017270)
There is some KIT Integration SAP for DataServices? Because if I install the Crystal Reports in the Server with BO Data Services, the RFC connection Interface works.
So, I think that need of some KIT of Integration SAP or some files necessary for that.
    tks for any help,
    Rodrigo Silveira

RFC Client Configuration dependents on following
<tomcat>\webapps\DataServices\WEB-INF\lib\sapjco3.jar - this jar file is shipped along with DataServices war file and is available to mangement console
%LINK_DIR%\bin\jco3\lib32\sapjco3.dll - the above jar file needs this DLL, this is also shipped with DS installation
there is no requirement for installing any other SAP component for this, the problem that you encountered could happen for following reasons
there are 2 copies of sapjco3.dll of different version, and dll which is not compatible with the jco3.jar is getting loaded resulting in error
some of the dependent dll required by sapjco3.dll is missing from the system, and after installing Crystal Report got installed
if you are having similar issue on other system you can check for following
search for sapjco3.dll, how many copies are there ?
use depends utility to find the dependent dll for sapjco3.dll located in %LINK_DIR%\bin\lib32, do you see anything listed as missing ?

  • DS XI3.2 SP1 - Problem when starting RFC server from management console

    Hi,
We're using DataServices XI 3.2 SP1 FP1 on a windows 2008 server 64bits to load SAP BW. We have set up an external system in SAP BW called "DI_SOURCE" and then successfully created a RFC server interface (DI_SOURCE) within the management console.
When we try to start this RFC server from the management console, we immediately get the following error message : "An internal error occurred in: server.start()::rfc_bad_connection".
On the other hand, when we follow the "old method" (pre SP2) and start the RFC server from a command window, it works : we have "CONNECTION DI_SOURCE OK" in SAP BW.
Any ideas how to solve this ?
    Thanks,
    Olivier

    Hi,
We have tried your suggestions above.
Instead of just crashing we now get an error from designer (before closing down). Seems as if our librfc32.dll has a problem.
We have verified that the librfc32.dll from the Data Services package is the only one on the server.

  • Broadcasting Workbook Error | An active RFC server could not be found

    Hi All,
I am facing an issue while trying to broadcast(distribute) a workbook. The broadcasting of a query from the query designer works fine. But when I try to distribute a workbook, it throws up the following error. We have used the SMTP method(<i>Using SMTP plug-in</i>) for broadcasting and we know that we can use RFC(<i>Using RFC connection</i>) too. But my question is whether RFC method is a must for workbook distribution.Kindly help me.
    Thanking you,

    Hi,
Are you using BI 7 ?
Have you configured a Precalculation server in transaction RSPRECADMIN ?
Precalculation servers are basically PC, that are used for their Excel capabilities, in order to produce up-to-date workbooks.

  • Error in Broadcaster - An Active RFC Server could not be found

    Hi all,
I am trying to broadcast a workbook to my mailbox through Information Broadcasting, i am trying this in BI 7.0 system.  In the Broadcasting wizard, I gave my mailid & the other required credentials.  But when i click on Schedule, i am getting a Error message "An Active RFC Server could not be found.  Error occured during processing of framework class CL_RSRD_PRODUCER_EXCEL, type PROD".
I checked in SU01 & my mailid is already added there.  So, where am i missing or is there any settings need to be done for the Broadcaster to work?
    Thanks,
    Murali

The precalc server is not needed if you are generating html output, but certainly is mandatory  for the Broiacaster to run/distribute BEx Excel Workbooks.
The BW needs access to a Windows computer that has Excel on it.  The BW connects to the Precacl and sends it a request it run a BEx wkbk, which the BW then can email to users.
The precalc server is a Windows Service.  You can install it locally on your desktop, or it can be installed on a windows server.  There is a little config that needs to be done.  The How To Troubleshoot Information Broadcasting link in the other resposne will provide all the steps.  You should obtain the most current version of the software from SAP.
You'll need a precalc server for each BW system in your landscape that you want to broadcast BEx wkbks from, so if you have Dev and QA systems, you'll need precalcs for them as well.

  • Error Happened at RFC Server Cannot Open the Job Batch File.

We have BW 7.0  and Data services 12.1. We are scheduling a Infopackage in BW that triggers a job in Dataservices server.
We had checked the connection between Dataservices source system in BW and RFC server on Dataservices side and these connections are good. on the 3rd party sellections tab in infopackage we specify the batch file name that we exported in Dataservices server. When we execute the infopackage we get the following error.
Error Happened at RFC Server Cannot Open the Job Batch File.
This error started occuring from yesterday and prior to that it was working fine. We are not understanding what changed in the system to cause this error.
Can anyone suggest any solutions for the above issue.
    Thanks,
    Naveen.

I'm not sure what the root cause would be here. Is the file still available ? Did file permissions change ? ...
But I wanted to point your attention to the fact that in Data Services/Data Integrator XI 3.2 (=12.2) we significantly enhanced the integration with BW. In XI 3.2, the RFC server is now integrated into the Data Services Management Console (so no need to start as a seperate executable) and you can start jobs from BW by just specifting the job's name in the repo (no need anymore to export execution commands to .bat files). So if upgrading to XI 3.2 is an option, things should go much smoother.

    Hi huydaibang,
The older version SQL Server 2005 could be installed with SQL Server 2008 R2 side-by-side.  It could not be the problem.
The reason that we get this error message is the client stack could not receive SSRP response UDP packet from SQL Browser.
    Here are the steps:
    1) Make sure your server name is correct, e.g., no typo on the name.
    2) Make sure your instance name is correct and there is actually such an instance on your target machine.
    3) Make sure the server machine is reachable, e.g, DNS can be resolve correctly, you are able to ping the server (not always true).
    4) Make sure SQL Browser service is running on the server.
    5) If firewall is enabled on the server, you need to put sqlbrowser.exe and/or UDP port 1434 into exception.

  • Intermitten error - SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified

Problem: I have a 2 WFE & 1 App server in my SharePoint 2013 Enterprise Edition SharePoint farm.  My WFE 2 and App servers connect all the time to the SQL Server using a SQL alias.  My WFE1 server work 80% of the
time.  It is setup exactly like WFE2 except periodically 1 web app/site collection will stop working and throw the following error:
    "A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a
connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify
that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow
remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error
    Locating Server/Instance Specified)"
When I log into WFE1 I can connect to SQL using the alias using a udl file and telnet to verify the SQL alias is connected.
Hypothesis/guess:  It appears like WFE1 periodically looses networking but only for 1 specific site collection.
    Any ideas are most welcome?

    Hi Aries,
I can rule out SQL Server (AOAG) Always-on as the farm doesn't use it.
"max worker threads" is set to 512 with 4CPU's.  Rule out.
From the log and looking at the breakdown of the SharePoint request, the request is hitting the WFE2 server which in turn is trying to connect to the content database.  The connection string/instance is not available.  In summary, I believe the
issue is WFE2 periodically cannot connect to the SQL instance.  At the same time WFE1 is working so we know it isn't the SQL server.  WFE1 & WFE 2 are on the same VLAN and both appear connected and can see the SQL database using a udl file.
WFE2 has other web applications that are working while the erring web site fails.  An IIS reset fixes the issue and restarting the "App pool" for the offending IIS website also fixes the problem.  This tells me the issue
is the IIS process.  When it tries to connect to SQL /the content database it fails.
I already raised the ticket with MS , the engineer has been looking at it with me, we have tried to identify the issue and also looked at TCP Chimney offload being a possible issue.  As my servers is Windows Server 2012, all the servers have the default
"TCP Chimney Offload" setting set to "disabled".  WFE1, WFE2, APP1 and SQL have the same setting so this is not the issue.  At least this has been ruled out.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951037
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/psssql/archive/2008/10/01/windows-scalable-networking-pack-possible-performance-and-concurrency-impacts-to-sql-server-workloads.aspx
I will keep posting about the problem, hopefully MS support can escalate and the root cause can be determined.
"The bottleneck is on the WFE2 server process trying to communicate with SQL.  SQL is up and listening.  Only 1 of the website/WebApplication on WFE fail for 15-20 minutes while the other websites are fine."

    Hi,
Would you please elaborate your Lync server environment?
Did the FE server and BE server on different subnets? If so, please try to relocate the SQL server in the same subnet as FE server and then check again.
Please also double check if the step of “Prepare first Standard Edition Server” ran succeed, if not please run again.

I can't think of any more obvious things that could be wrong. The best thing to try next is to set up a trace between the portal and the AWS using a tool like TCPTrace to see what the exact error coming back from the AWS is.
You should also probably open a ticket with support.
