RFC Test Connection
Hi !
Is there any function module to test whether the RFC call from one system to other system is successful.
Regards,
Priti
Hi,
You can use the below FM to check whether the RFC connection is successfull or nor.
CALL FUNCTION 'RFC_PING'
DESTINATION XXXX(lv_DESTINATION) " Your destination number
EXCEPTIONS
COMMUNICATION_FAILURE = 1
SYSTEM_FAILURE = 2.
You can get the destination using below code.
select single ZR3IDEXIST from ZRFCDESTINATION
into lv_DESTINATION
where SYSID = sy-sysid
and ZCLTID = sy-mandt.
Please do not forget to reward if it is helpful for you.
Thanks,
GSK

Hello Friends
I am running a program which is using a RFC destination (PS_ACCESS_2).
The program runs well when I run it in the foreground but in the background it gave error.
To over come the error I made some changes to the RFC destination.
The changes are as below.
1)If you check the Rfc dest PS_ACCESS_2 in sm59 it is pointing to a exe file. I kept this file in application server and checked the radio button "start on application server".
2) I clicked the radiobutton "specify timeout" and increased the timeout value.
Inspite of these changes when I try to test the connection it gives error.
the error says " logon Error".
Kindly help me resolve this error
Thanks in Advance
SudheendraHi kishore
There is no option to enter User name and password though there is a tab "logon & Security".
In the tab "Logon & Security" I can see the below things
Send SAP logon ticket -> This is checked in my case.
Status of secure protocol -> This is set to inactive in my case.
Any help will be greatly appreciated -

Hi all
We need to test some data loads for RFC and connection settings . How do we go about it ?
Thanks allHi,
Actually choosing 'Check' option on source sytem is sufficient to check the conection seetings. If you do not satisfied with this, Do full load of any master data or full/initial upload of selective Transaction data(by filling setup tables).

Test Connection in SLD fails.
Hello,
When I test connection for SLD in content administrator (web dynpro), I get
Connection to SLD could not be opened successfully.
And when I open a web dynpro that uses RFC I get an exception.
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to resolve JCO destination name 'WD_WATCH_RFC_METADATA_DEST' in the SLD. No such JCO destination is defined in the SLD.
what could be the issue.
Thanks
TonyHi Tony,
Configure your SLD and then create the JCO Destinations.
Check the following document which clearly explains the process of System Landscape Directory and JCo Configuration

SAP B2B server - test connection problem
Hi Team,
We have business connector 4.6 sap BC server. We have created adapter connection in sapbc server to establish a connection to SAP ECC system but when we perform test connection in sapbc server it is throwing out error as" Name or password is incorrect (repeat logon)" though we mentioned the right password and logon credentials.
Created listener for sap adapter in BC server and maintained program id and other configuration details. Created TCP/IP RFC connection from SAP using register program id "SAPBC and it is working fine.
communication from SAP to BC is working fine however we could receive error when we tried to test the connection from BC to SAP ECC.
Below are the BC Error trace for reference.

You can clearly see that the system object 'sapdev' is not configured correctly/at all - you are trying to launch transaction iView
(WEBGUI) and in order to do so you should configure the 'internet transaction server' category of the system object
with the hostname of the ITS server.
Generally the template is
<System.Access.ITS.protocol>://<System.Access.ITS.hostname>/sap<ESID>/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?\....
So that's why you got

Trying to modify a script to use test-connections in multiple domains?
Hey Scripting Guy!
I've created the script (below) to use test-connection against a list of hosts and write the results of the machines that respond to a .txt file. The only issue is that one of my sites utilizes two separate domains, does anyone have any advice as far as
when a test connection fails, retrying the command using another domain name? (server.domain.com)
I'll take any advice at this point... Thanks!
New-PSDrive -Name S -PSProvider FileSystem -Root \\server\share -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
Get-ChildItem "S:\Folder1\Folder2\backup\backup Audits\Host Audits" -Filter *.txt | `
Foreach-Object{
$content = Get-Content $_.FullName
#$SiteName = Get-ChildItem "S:\Folder1\Folder2\backup\backup Audits\Host Audits"
#Find alive machines, and write their hostnames to output file for auditing
Test-Connection -count 5 -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue $Content | Select-object -unique | Out-File "S:\Folder1\Folder2\backup\backup Audits\Audit results by Site\$_"what i would like to do is when my test-connection fails with an error, append another domain suffix to the hostname so that if:
test-connection computerxyz fails
then test-connection computerxyz.domain.corp.com
$server="$computer.domain1.com"
if(Test-Connection $server -count 1 -quiet){
$server="$computer.domain2.com"
... other code

I've had an iWeb site running for 4 months and I publish a monthly newsletter. Since August I've been unable to republish. The test connection under FTP settings works but I get an error message when I try to upload newsletter. Am I missing something?
Where are you hosting the site a what are you using to upload the site files to the server?
