RFC, TIME OUT

  • Ping time out, server connection is lost in visual administrator after java

    Dear all,
    Recently I have done system copy for XI system. I have imported the java import after importing  the abap stack into the target system as java add in abap.The import phase finished successfully and java engine is also working well.
    I have confirmed this by moving to the browser page  " http://hostname:50000/ and XI system  http://hostname:50000/rep ". Everything is working fine and in MMC console as well.
    But while trying to log in to visual administrator i am getting the error message as " ping time out,connection to server is lost "

    When I login to SMICM of that system , I can find the error content in most areas and no clue about it..

    And when checked in trace file of dev_server0 , i can see some error messages relating to rfc logon load(SMLG) , but I have checked in SMLG and load balancing is defined over there and the status is also green.
    Now one small doubt is , any way this error is relating to the existing problem ..

  • SOAP synchronous channel specific call time out configuration

    Hi,
    This is regarding channel specific timeout configuration in SOAP sender and receiver channel.
    We are having SOAP to Proxy synchronous web services. One of the web service is taking longer to execute the RFC's in ECC and getting the results back to PI.
    The error we are getting is Message Expired in soap ui and PI logs.
    When I checked the execution time it says 301165 ms from soap ui.
    The default setting of XI is 180000 ms i.e 3 mins.
    I configured channel specific time out in both sender and receiver channels. Now the configuration has timeout of 600000 ms. Below is the screen shot.
    SENDER:
    RECEIVER:
    But still the message is getting timed out and below is the error:
    Unable to contact target server XXXXXXXX:8000 after 1 tries.
    Below is the error log from PI :
    Please suggest the solution. I am not sure whether its actually  taking the specific configured time.
    Thanks,
    Vertika

    Hi Vertika,
    Please check
    SAP Note 1660913 - SOAP/XI Adapter - XI.Timeout parameter support in 7.30+
    For soap sender channel
    SAP Note 1644846 - Parameter syncTimeout doesn't work under SOAP sender channel

  • Time out settings in a proxy

    Hi ,
    I am calling a Proxy from a Function module... now the requirement is: if proxy exceeds the set  execution time, we need to kill the process and send a message to the user.
    Can we set a time out in Proxy? If so, Please let me know the configuration settings for that?
    Can we set the time out programatically or dynamically to kill the proxy?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pavan.

    Check this out ..This might solve ur issue

  • Dialog process time out !!!

    Hi experts,
    I am trying to execute a function Module(with RFC) that triggers a dialog process. Now the system time out limit for a dialog process is 10 mins and my process is taking longer than that, hence its giving a "Time Out" dump.  Is there a way to that can avoid this system time limit for a dialog process?
    Please suggest!!!
    Thanks.

    Hello Ankit,
    Can you elaborate what do you mean by "running in background"?  Did you use IN BACKGROUND TASK / IN BACKGROUND UNIT
    addition while calling the RFC?

  • Relation between RFC time and Roll wait time

    Hello
    What is the relation between RFC time and Roll wait time?
    In a diagram from E2E100 training I took recently the relationship is made out to be:
    RFC+CPIC = some processing time + Roll wait time
    Something like this
    Processing----
    Roll wait-------
    Roll in
    RFC+CPIC----
    In the diagram I saw it shows that roll out occurs during processing.
    Assumming that the user context rolls out and then rolls in again, wouldn't "Wait" time occur when the request comes back and the dispatcher has to assign the request to a work process?
    Is this wait time calculated as "Wait" time or is it calculated as "Roll wait" time?
    I was forced to think about this because of a STAD record I have with high Roll wait time, but with low RFC time as well as zero GUI time. If "Wait" time when the request comes back from RFC is included in "Roll wait" then it might explain what i'm seeing.
    Kind regards,
    Peter

    Hello Santosh,
    Thank you for your reply.
    I would like to know how time spend in the dispatcher by a request coming back from an RFC is calculated.
    When the RFC is made the user context is rolled out of the work process so the work process becomes free. When the RFC comes back it has to be assigned to a new work process. This means that a bit of time would need to be spent in the dispatcher. Would this time be measured as "wait" time or is it part of "Roll wait time?
    From the definition you gave of "Roll wait time", "it is the time dedicated by the R/3 system to waiting for the return value of an RFC call plus the CPIC time required to create the connection for that RFC to an outside system", one would think that the time spent in the dispatcher by a returning RFC would be measured as "wait time" the same as when the dialog request first comes in from the front end. I've never seen a diagram that explained this satisfactorily.
    Kind regards,
    Peter

    Hi.
    Try to connect to sapserv2 instead, with IP address 194.39.131.34, port 99.
    You can change these settings in t-code OSS1 -> Parameter -> Techincal settings.
    Also, are you sure that the necessary ports are open in your firewall:
    <Customer SAProuter> -> 194.39.131.34:3299/tcp
    194.39.131.34 -> <Customer SAProuter>:3299/tcp
    <Customer SAProuter> -> 194.39.131.34:icmp (echo-reply, type 0)
    194.39.131.34 -> <Customer SAProuter>:icmp (echo-request, type 8)
    See SAP Note 48243 for details.

    Thomas

  • Connection Times Out in QA

    I have WDA component with 5 tabstrips. And all the fields in these tab strips get populated on the click of "Search" button on the header part. Now this functionality is working good in the DEV system, but times out when i click the "Search" button QA.
    I thought may be since the data in QA is large compared to DEV may thats the reason it is timing out since all the RFC are called at the same time to populate the data in all the tab strips. So i pointed the RFC to DEV system and still the problem remains and that concludes it is not the data. Please suggest what this issue can be and would appreciate if could also provide solution.
    Thanks.

  • Program Time-out

    Hi,
    Our SRM system runs BBP_VENDOR_SYNC program and connects to SAP system through RFC for data sync. It forks DIA process in SAP and query the database. This takes more time than set for DIA process,and in turn time-out.
    Do you have any solution for this issue?
    Thanks,
    Sam

    Hello,
    SAP does not recommend to increase the parameter in systems PRD, Have you looked  the statistics?
    Can you check the query, launch the process--sm50 (PID)st04details analisysOracle session--search-- desplay execution plan
    Check stat? Check full scan?

  • SSO Partner Application and Session Time out

    Hi ,
    We have an application on forums.oracle.com which is implementing the Authentication scheme as SSO, that is working well, now we want to implement Session Time out if the user is idle for some time and ask him to login again after the session fails, I have tried to implement this feature as given by Scott in the thread session timeout , well the problem is since we dont have a login page here how do we set the cookies owa_cookie.send(
    name => 'HTMLDB_IDLE_SESSION',
    value => to_char(sysdate+(20/1440),'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS'),
    expires => null,
    path => '/',
    domain => null
    and where is the current point to implement it.
    Any help on this is greatly welcome.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Naveen,
    I don't remember how the solution works. But if you don't have a login page you can usually put code in the post-authentication process of your authentication scheme to do whatever the login page process would have done.

  • CRM WEB UI - Time out Pop-up

    Dear All,
    We have a business requirement to monitor and optimize the CRM WEB UI timeout and other related issues.
    I would like to have time-out pop-up for the call center agents  and hence they could better manage the sessions .
    This will avoid loosing the valuable customer data for the session and so on.
    We are now working on the following threads with CRM Technical folks.
    Please share your experience or the detailed steps if you had implemented already.
    SAP  note 1877120 - CRM-IC: session timeout issue with CRM 7 EHP1 and higher
    Also , have a look http://scn.sap.com/community/crm/webclient-ui-framework/blog/2012/05/17/session-time-out-warning-message-on-ui
    2092893 - Session Time Out Notification
    Regards
    Venkat

    Hello Venkat,
    For business roles of type IC Webclient, you have to implement SAP Note 1877120. Don't forget to update your view layout in your custom enhancement if you have enhanced CRMCMP_IC_FRAME/HiddenView.
    After implementation of 1887120, also implement 1977631 and 1955366.
    Best Regards,
    Sigrid
