RFGuns slowing down several times a day

Hello,
RFGuns in our warehouse really slow down several times a day and start taking time. I am wondering if this is a network problem. Any ideas where to look? Thanks

Try to determin when the issue started and whether or not any changes went in when the problem started, updated security measures? new access points, switches and such? any thing related to RF connectivity has changed?
After checking with network team, they should monitor, look for network issues, check sygnal strength
1. check with network security team, ask if they run scans durring the times you see slowness
2. check for batch jobs that might suck system resources (financial batch jobs can slow entire sytems)
3. check for firmware updates for the devices, some devices have known issues w/newer secure networks
4. do server analysis to make sure enough resources are devoted to the boxes that handle the transactions
good luck

  • IMac Retina has started shutting down several times a day, generating a "Panic Report".

Although I have had a new iMac Retina since October, it is only within the past few weeks that I have started trying to use it for most purposes. Initially, it seemed to be working OK.  But during the past week, it has started to do peculiar things, such as:
    1. Now, several times a day, it shuts down unexpectedly.  When I boot it back up, it displays a message saying that it was shut down because of a problem.  Then, when I click on the window for a report of the problem, it generates a long “Panic Report”.
    2.  When it boots back up, it automatically opens several windows that I did not have open when it shut down — Safari, Firefox, Excel, Word, etc.
    3. I have 2 external 1gb drives connected for data, and 2 external 4gb drives connected for Time Machine backups.  All of the drives have been formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled).  However, although Finder originally showed all 4 of those drives, Finder now always omits a particular one of the 1gb drives. Yet,  iDrive and Time Machine continue to recognize all 4 drives.
    4. Several times over the past week, it suddenly popped up a “Jabber" window containing a long transcript of a series of iPhone texts that I exchanged in January.  However, I never installed Jabber (to my knowledge), and it doesn’t show as currently installed on any of my devices.
I just ran EtreCheck, and this is the report:
    Problem description:
New iMac with Yosemite has started to shut down itself several times a day, generating a Panic Report.

  • After installing HP software for new printer laptop shuts down several times a day

I had an older HP Photosmart printer and it lost it's wireless connection often.  I decided to get a new printer and purchase an HP Officemax 8600 printer and immediately my laptop started shutting down without notice.  It would leave me a notice that my computer had shut down and another screen showing all of the code and asking me if I wanted to send the error to Apple.  I am sure they have now received dozens or hundreds of these notices and of course I still have not responded.   I have not seen a fix.  Really poor response from a company that I thought had a committment to their customers.  Though wrong.

Some of the HP software creates a lot of network traffic.  It can overwhelm some routers.  What kind of router and ISP do you use?
Download 13 from here but do not subscribe to the Customer Participation Program (it creates a lot of traffic).

  • IMac crashes several times per day. What is causing the issue?

    Here is the error report.
I am always prompted to "report this issue to Apple" but never hear back as to what the issue actually is.
Can someone decipher the "crash report"?
    Thank you!

Thanks for the update on this, Linc. I did try this out and it was helpful, however, I'm back in the same boat again!
Thanks for any help and insight you can offer.
The iMac has resorted to shutting down several times per day again.    Here is the latest error report.

  • I've asked before and got the answer to do a power down by holding both buttons. My phone is crashing several times a day. Any ideas what to do to fix it.

I've rebooted it by holding both buttons and now I have to do that several times a day to get my phone to perform. Wondering what glitch is causing this? Is there an upgrade coming or is my almost new phone a dud?

    One of these should help:
Right-click on iPhone name and select "Restore from backup", which does not erase any data other than re-load your last backup, or
Select Restore, which will erase your iPhone and re-load the OS.  At the end you can re-load your last backup to save you from having to re-do all the settings and preferences, and you don't lose app data, texts, camera roll, etc.
As above, Restore but don't load your last backup.  This will erase everything and you'll set it up as a new iPhone, which means re-doing all your settings and preferences, and losing app data, contacts*, etc.
*Contacts can be restored if you're using Exchange, or if your computer contacts are up to date, or if you use a 3rd party app to extract your contacts from your iPhonebefore you Restore.
Only do the last one if the others don't help.

  • Shut down, No LED light at all, happens several times  a day

Only a week old, after a few days from a firmware update. I noticed, I lose connections. I check the airport extremee 802.11n gigbyte, no light on. Look Dead and cold. Unplug power cord and plug back in, everything okay. Happens several times a day now. It always felt warm, when on, from day one, sit openly on a corner of desk. Not sure if it firmware doing it or I got a bad unit. Anyone else experiencing similiar problem. Otherwise it works fine in between dead states. I use it at 5gig range wide band only. Is there an auto overload circuit, that reset after unpluging. Any ideas. Currently only the new macbook is on with lexmark e120n printer plugged into ethernet port. Hard to judge, as I don't have long history with this unit. Should I send it back, get another one or is this a lemon. Should I get another brand, as I hate unreliable equipment. I give apple a chance to resolve it.
    Alex ([email protected])
don't use [email protected], not active.

I seem to be having a similar problem. My first unit decided to switch off after being on for more than a few hours (no lights, etc) and wouldn't come back to life for a few minutes. As time went on it got worse so I got a replacement.
Unfortunately, 2 days after getting the replacement unit its doing the same thing!!!!!
I can't be that unlucky can I? Or is it the power brick (which wasn't replaced) that's the problem?

  • HP ENVY m6 Notebook PC overheats several times per day

My laptop overheats and crashes CONSTANTLY—several times per day!  I have vacuumed all of the vents in back, I took it to the Geek Squad, who sold me a chill pad that helps minimally, I have started putting ice packs on the lower left corner, I don't take it outside, anymore.  There is nothing that keeps this laptop cool enough for me to use like a laptop and take it where I need it.  It started doing this about 6 months ago.
It's sitting on the chill pad right now, getting hotter and hotter (everywhere to the left of the letter i).  Also, the adapter gets so hot, it makes me think it might be a fire hazard.  It seems to overheat slower when it runs off the battery, which seems to be the only thing that doesn't get hot.
What do I do about this?  I don't want to get another laptop; this one is only a year and a half old.

It likely needs to be opened up and cleaned out around the processor/heatsink and new thermal compound applied. I am understanding that the battery does not heat up? What if you let it run down and then recharge it with the laptop on? Does the battery get hot during that process? It does not heat up as much on battery power because the processor has been "throttled back" to save battery life so that tells us the heat is likely coming from the processor. You can set the processor to run at 97 or 98% power even when plugged in and this helps a lot but should not be seen as a permanent fix. Go into power options in Control Panel and get to advanced.
Set maximum processor state plugged in to 98% and see if that does not help.

  • Airport Extreeme 5th generation, firmware 7.6.4 crashing several times a day (no interference)

Call me unlucky, but I'm here just for solving AirPort Extreeme... issue. Here is my setup:
    - My IPhone mic stopped working recently, so I decide to use it as wireless survellance cam connected with Airport on 2.4Ghz
    - I also own Retina laptop mid 2012 (with ghosting screen connected to 27" Thunderbold with wierd spots on matrix which appeared 6 month after purchase) and laptop by the way connected on 5Ghz
    - I have some generic 3Tb usb drive connected to AirPort Extreeme...
    - And some generic laptop connected on 2.4Ghz which does pretty much nothing
    - (The only device I never had issue with is IPad 2 but it's not connected)
So, an app on laptop takes a snapshot from camera every 15 seconds and it's 500kb tops, so it goes from IPhone to Extreeme... to Laptop and then from Laptop to Extreeme... connected harddrive. What happens is Extreeme... reboots several times a day and sometimes it hangs after reboot which makes me climb to manualy unplug from power... any suggestions?
P.S. Support is my last bet choosing Apple products in a future, I never asked for it before this is the very first time, Im busy person, but hey for $6000 I spend on Apple products should I expect some quality, reasonable question isn't it?
    Thanks,
    Max.

Unfortunately there are some products that have issues.. but you have had a really bad trot. I think if it was me I would be screaming my head off. Have you rung Apple and got some progress in getting these things looked at. The Thunderbolt display to begin with.. take it to the genius and let them check it.. I am not sure if the phone is out of warranty but apple can be generous at times.. especially if you have $6000 of faulty products.
For your particular problem with the Extreme, I would simply downgrade to 7.6.1 firmware.. the latest firmware does not always work the greatest. And do a factory reset after that. Setup again with all names, short, 2-20 characters, no spaces and pure alphanumeric. I would also lock down as much of the stuff that is on auto as possible. So use a different name for 5ghz.. lock the channels manually. You can try several, 11, 6, 1 at least for 2.4ghz.. and around 40 and around 150 for 5ghz.
Sometimes locking the mode to slower speed, just to see if that helps is worth it.

  • Razr turns self off several times a day.

I have a Droid Razr. It has been fine for about a year, but just recently it began shutting itself off several times a day. Girl at Verizon says I have to leave it with them for them to see it happen. My profession demands I have a phone on me throughout day. Any thoughts on what causes this? It seems to have started after last major update.

Have you tried a system cache clear?
    Power down phone
Hold volume up/down & power simultaneously until you see the Boot Mode Selection Menu
Use volume down to navigate to 'Recovery', use volume up to select
Should see screen with triangle and exclamation point next to an Android
Press volume up/down simultaneously to go into system recovery *
Use volume rocker to navigate to 'wipe cache' and use power button to select
Once finished, use volume rocker to navigate to 'reboot system now' and use power button to select
    * if doesn't work:
press and hold the volume down and wait for a second or two, then press and hold the volume up and the volume down buttons for 5-6 seconds and then release

  • My macbook pro is crashing several times a day

my macbook pro is crashing several times a day. i took it to be repaired and the logic board has been replaced. if anything it is now worse. it has crashed when previewing video, in keynote, linking to an external monitor, in photoshop, scrolling down a web page, etc etc . the log records kernel panics. i wondered if upgrading the operating system would help so am now running lion but it just crashed so that hasn't solved it. has anyone else had this and if so how did you resolve it?

Your problem is likely one of these. In particular, I've seen several instances where virtualbox doesn't play well with Mavericks. I'm not sure what the other ones are.

  • Several times each day my Mac locks up.  Seems to be Safari.  Using Maverick

Can someone explain what to do when several times each day my Mac locks up.  Seems to be Safari.  Using Maverick.

Phil, Why do you think that it is Safari?
Are you running any #3rd party applications as well?
If a proprietary (Apple) application "locks up"... it should not bring down the whole system; rather, one should be able to force quit the application that only appears to be hanging the entire system (press option, command & esc keys for the "Force Quit" application menu).
After a force quit of a proprietary application, it then should open right back up without a reboot. The system should not hang. For example, if Safari does "hang" w/a spinning beachball & you force quit that & then fire it up again -- as opposed to a machine that completely "locks up" as you say... that term is usually reserved for when absolutely everything is frozen which calls for the radical power-button force shutdown.

  • My ipadmini kicks me of my wifi several times a day

My iPad mini kicks me of my wifi several times a day , and none of my other non apple devices do this please help

    Try #5.
    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • I get "Trial Expired" notice several times a day, even though I sign in and Licence the software

I have an annual Acrobat subscription, yet for some reason the subscription doesn't "stick". I have to "licence" the software several times a day to continue to use the tool. I see others have this problem with CC products. What is the permanent fix??

    Hi Anubha.
    -        There is nothing wrong with my internet connection.
    -        If I connect to the internet and sign in from the “trial expired” scheme it all works fine. Until I close the software. When I start it up again it has “forgotten” that Annual subscription again.
    -        A screen shot is attached showing the Help menu after I start up – you can see that the Adobe software doesn’t recognise that it is licenced software (the Deactivate option is missing).
    -        However after 2 minutes it tries to connect to your server.
o   If I am connected to the internet then everything is fine, and the second screen shot shows the change in the Help menu.
o   But if I am not connected to the internet when it tries to connect, I get the “trial expired” message. Then I cannot use the software at all unless I immediately connect to the internet to log in.
I want to be able to use the software anytime, whether I am connected to the internet or not. At the moment, if I am not connected to the internet I cannot use the software for more than a couple of minutes before it shuts down. This is unacceptable, and the is the problem I want you to fix.
    Can you understand?
    Regards
    Shayne.

  • Force restarting several times a day - continuation of threa

FBHolt, since you are having force restart several times a day according to your post in the previous thread let's try first to isolate the most common symptom generated by a force restart, and that's a correct directory. Have you tried yet, to follow these instructions to repair the directory?
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214

ATTENTION! I feel like its my duty to inform you of what has occured to me. Right now I am using a lender because my just one year old powerbook died on me. Yes it crashed. After the last update that I had made (like three weeks ago), my computer experienced all the problems previously mentioned in the other thread. My PB suddenly became incredibly slow and the beach ball appered all the time and for the simplest of things. Then when I would restart I would restart the restart. It would stay in the grey page forever. I even went shopping and when I came back it was still there. Then one day it became unberably slow. That was in the morning. Then when I got back from school it kept wanting to restart over and over and over until it never did again. It just gave me the blue screen of death. I quickly got my recovery disk and went and did the whole thing. Then when I woke up the next morning it quickly crashed on me again. So then I went to recover again, but then when it ask you to choose what hardrive you want to recover it couldn't detect the HD. I tried a hundred times. I then decided to take the cd out and stick back in, but guess what, after I tried a hundred times (and yes I would press eject and wait a while before ever pressing eject again) it never came out. So that is why I have a lender. In my case, to me at least, it all conects to that last update. I treated my PB like a baby. I am no expert but I am sure to treat my computers well. There was no reason or excuse for what happened. And you know, now that I am using this lender (a brand new one with Tiger), I am starting to think that my PB (purchased new) was never working properly in the first place. But being a long time user of other people's crappy PCs with Windows, I would never have known. Anyway, I just wanted to share my story in hopes that it could help someone.
