To explore the possibilities of the RFID technology it is crucial tounderstand the components involved, the physics, and the basic principles behind the technology.
Beyond the technology the possibilities of using collected RFID data via the SAP Auto ID Infrastructure and SAP Object Event Repository will be presented, and RFID enabled processes (inbound, outbound, returnable items, KANBAN u2026) will be discussed.
Current standards of the Electronic Product Code (EPC) for RFID tags will be explained. Reference projects from several industries underline the value customers can get out of RFID today and the integration into SAPu2019s business systems.
The session will close with recommendations on how to start an RFID project and required skills and resources. Tips and tricks for feasible project planning will round out the webcast.
    Key Learning points:
    1. RFID 101: what it is, who is using it, what it can do for you.
    2. Basic architecture and parties involved in a project.
    3. Pre-configured scenarios enabled by SAP Solutions for RFID.

  • When did SAP start RFID- AUTO IDsolution?

SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure (SAP AII) is an out-of-the-box solution that integrates RFID technology with existing SAP logistics systems and delivers a generic infrastructure that enables integration with heterogeneous system landscapes.
Could you kindly tell me when did SAP release this solution for customers?
    Thanks!

    solved. Thanks!

  • FAQ: AII-DC-RFID (Auto ID Infrastructure - Device Controller Interface)

    Version: 20060317
Q: Where can i find more information to the AII-DC-RFID interface ?
A: Have a look on our ICC webpage in the SDN:
SAP Supply Chain Management- Device Controller Interface (AII-DC-RFID) [original link is broken]
Q: What costs are arising when we want our product to be certified ?
A: See also out SDN page under the headline "Price List".
Q: Is there a link/page for the already certified products for this interface ?
A: Sure, have a look on our ICC page under the headline "Certified Solutions"
Q: Who can we ask in case of general question ?
A: Have a look at our general ICC forum:
SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC)
Of course, if you have urgent requests you can send them also directly to our local ICC's:
ICC Walldorf in Germany: [email protected]
ICC Palo Alto in USA: [email protected]
ICC Bangalore in India: [email protected]
Q: Who can we ask in case of technical questions ?
A: This depends on the state of your certification project.
1.) If the certification contracts have been signed then you can ask in this forum and if this does not solve your question go back to your assigned integration consultant.
2.) When the certification contracts have not been signed then you can ask questions in this forum.
Q: Are there differences between version 2.1 and 4.0 ?
A: The interface has no changes from AII 2.1 to AII 4.0.

    Hi Sara,
SAP Device Controller Interface is the interface that will be used by device controller softwares to send data to SAP AII and vice versa. Device controllers filter the RFID reads and send a unique read event to SAP AII. SAP AII on receiving this message processes it. It can be the case that as part of processing we also require to send data back to devices/controller or send a command such as tag commissioning. At this time also the same interface is used.

  • Configure ale with RFID

can any one pls help me with steps to configure the interfaces between ALE(or SAP) and RFID(AUTO ID). i am a purely abaper i have no knowledge in XI.so pls let me know if it is possible to configure rf device with R/3.
    thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Vamsi.

    Hi,
Configuring the ALE/Idoc scenerio for the same client is very much possible, because you would defining the same client/port but might used different message type. But so you think this will help you rather than that if the clinet is same rather than configuring the ALE/IDOC setting why not write a piece of ABAP code finding the proper USER EXIT/INCLUDE .i.e. when a PO is created with company code ABC then that USEREXIT will trigger which will send those data to another company code. The user exit can easily be identified by the functional guys.
Mostly the ALE/Idocs scenerios are used when we have multiple clients or multiple system.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Jay

  • Logical and semantic layer design in four facts structure

    Hi
My physical layer contains four fact table and several mutual dimensions.
The fact tables are not connected together.
My preference is to build four star schemes on one business model in the logical layer
and to provide one semantic layer with all four facts and mutual dimension.
Am I going throw a loops and data duplication adventure?
Is there any problem with this structure?
What is the best practice in this case?
The users should have the option to drag columns in all possible combination.

  • What are the steps for using Bobj with ECC

    Hi,
I have the ECC 6 with EHP4 system, now i want to use BusinessObjects for reporting purpose. I dont have the BI installed, What are the pre-requisit for installaing and using Bobj with web intelegence and crystal report. Dose BI is must for bobj to work? Please explain in steps what are the things i have to do.
    Thanks
    Rajib Imran

It looks like you are new to BOBJ. BI is the service name and BOBJ is the product name in SAP.
Since you have not mentioned your version of BOBJ, I assume you are in the latest version...
To date, there is no direct connectivity available between ECC and BI 4.0 (current release of BOBJ).
You may need to use one of some of the following ways:
    1. Using Plug and play Rapid marts (using Data Services)
    2. Build your own custom marts (using Data Services)
    3. Building SAP BW and using SAP integration kit
Having said, there is a plan for direct connectivity between SAP ECC and BI 4.0 in the upcoming enhancement to BI 4.0.
Please refer the link below for more details:

  • Lumira on HCP or Cloud Lumira server with backend as HANA DB

    Hi
I have developed Lumira stories in desktop version and deployed in trial version of Cloud Lumira server.
But not able to connect HANA DB as backend to create stories in Cloud Lumira.
is there any way to create Cloud Lumira stories with backend as HANA DB ? i'm able to achieve this in desktop version and again not able to publish to Cloud Lumira.
i tried with Hana Cloud Platform trial account.
But i dont find Lumira Server on HCP. Only Cloud lumira is available where we are not able to connect with HANA DB.
Is Lumira is available on HCP ? or how to connect HANA DB with Cloud lumira server?
I'm new to Lumira developments, Any help would be appreciable.
    Thanks & Regards
    Yokesvaran Kumarasamy

I don't think you will be able to connect to those with trial accounts; those are typically limited in data sources
See Figure 15 here  BI in the Cloud - ASUG Webcast Summary  - Lumira Server on HCP is planned

  • Lumira Server for BI Platform and Team/Edge consumption & licensing question

Hi.  I have a few questions.
    Question 1:
From my reading, I've heard that Lumira Edge/Team server may not be a part of BI-Suite License.  I read a Lumira Server ASUG Webcast recap by Tammy Powlas here (SAP Lumira Server for Teams Roadmap ASUG Webcast) over the weekend and one of the Q&A questions struck me:
Q: Is this included with the BI Suite license from SAP?
A: Lumira Server for Teams (Edge Edition) is not covered under BI Suite License. However, Lumira Server for BI Platform (RTC Planned in April) is covered under BI Suite licenses
In a separate conversation late 2014, I thought I'd heard that Lumira Team/Edge server was supposed to be usable by BI Suite licensed customers, but it sounds like I'm mistaken?
    Question 2:
Next, the second part of the statement gave me hope:
However, Lumira Server for BI Platform (RTC Planned in April) is covered under BI Suite licenses
I then looked at the Lumira Deployment Options for Departments Part 1 – ASUG Webcast by Tammy Powlas to get some more information on Lumira Server for BI Platform.  This slide gave me some hope (emphasis mine in green):
But then I see some more information a little later:
Is this slide to imply that the version without HANA (or HANA XS) for BI Platform will only really just serve as a user rights management and Lumira document repository?  And that if I want to view a Lumira document, I must still open from the Lumira Desktop client?
It was suggested I start a new discussion thread to ask this licensing question about a product that's not out yet (but the slide says it's GA so I'm still confused) so here I am with my discussion thread!
Hopefully someone can make me less confused.  I'm hoping the answer is as a BI-Suite customer that we do not have to make a decision to either invest in new Edge/Team licenses or buy HANA XS hardware to establish a beachhead of Lumira usage in our organization.  We've been struggling with promoting Lumira and the sharing piece has been the sore spot.

    Hi Michael
You are right, it is confusing...
I think it will be better to contact sales to get this explained as opposed to technical support people that monitor this SCN Space.
