What's the difference between the following two options in RFx document?
- "Bidder Can Change RFx Responses" at RFx header level
- "Allow RFx Response Modification" at RFx item level

How can I change a Microsoft Word document file into a picture or jpeg file? I am wanting to make the image I created my background on my macbook pro.

After I had the document image the way I wanted it, I saved it as a web page and went from there. Below are the steps starting after I did the "save as" option in Word:
1) Select "Save As Web Page". I changed the location from documents to pictures when the window came up to save it as a web page.
2) Go to "Finder" on you main screen, or if it's on your main toolbar at the bottom.
3) Click on the "Pictures" tab and find the file you just re-saved as a web page. (I included "web page" or something similar in the new title so I could easily find the correct file I was looking for)
4) Open the correct file and then "right click" on the actual image. (Use 2 fingers to do so on a Mac)
5) Select 'Use Image As Desktop Picture", and voilà! The personally created image, or whatever it is that you wanted, is now your background.
**One problem I encountered while doing this is that the image would show up like it was right-aligned in relation to the whole screen. The only way I could figure how to fix this was to go back to the very original document in Word, (the one before it was saved as a web page), and move everything over to the left.
I hope this helps someone else who was as frustrated as I was with something that I thought would have been very simple to do! If you have any tips or suggestions of your own, please feel free to share. : )

Unable to change any file or document name in Finder

Can someone help me with following problem.
Using Finder I am not able to change any folder or document name.
Thus creating a "new folder" I even can not change that name!

Move com.apple.finder.plist file from /Users/username/Library/Preferences/ to the Desktop, OPTION-click and hold the Finder's Dock icon, and select Relaunch. Note that this requires resetting Finder preferences. See if this fixes the issue.

Closing and saving spreadsheet changes in the same document? There are several drop-down options for saving a spreadsheet in Numbers except saving to the existing spreadsheet. Excel has a 'save' or 'save as' options what are the equivilents in Numbers?

Hi Larry,
Menu > File > Save (command s) will save the document. If it has not already been saved, it will offer "Untitled" as the name. Type a name and choose a folder.
Numbers (and any app on OS X Mavericks) has Menu > File > Save, and Menu > File > Duplicate.
To see Save As... hold down the option key when using the File Menu. "Duplicate" will change to "Save As..."

Remote content bar does not appear for some emails with images specifically daily Twitter updates. Changing options to allow all remote content has no effect

So, your page looks OK to me in Firefox, but when I tried to check it in IE, it choked my browser and closed it.
You have quite a few code validation errors - no document type declaration, etc... Start by fixing these reported errors.

Can changes to a FrameMaker document be tracked by date?

If there are changes to conditional text in FrameMaker, can they be tracked by author and date? The goal is to create a log of changes that my group can reference.

FM can generate a List or an Index of the conditions (called References), so if you set a new condition for specific edits in a document, then those conditions can be tracked. It might get messy and be a bit of a maintenance chore to keep these things straight. Also, conditions have to be manually applied.
Author changes (including the date) are automatically tracked using the Track Text Edits option. The author (username from the system login) and date of a change shows in the document Status bar, e.g.
Unfortunately, FM doesn't have a default listing for the tracking info, but this info would be accessible via Extendscript, so you could have a custom script created to track/list all of these changes in a report. Note: if the changes are accepted or rejected, then the tracking info is lost.

In recording for MIR7 the input option 'other invoice document' is disabled

Hi All,
I came across a issue where i opened the transaction MIR7 in a session and it gives an option(in menu and on toolbar) to give input as 'other invoice document' but when i am doing recording through SHDB for the same MIR7 transaction this option 'other invoice document' is disabled. I need this option to make changes in other invoice doc. I am wondering why it's behaving like this......Please assist me on the same.

It seems that screen which is compitible with batch recording doesn't provide an option to enter another invoice.
But, while recording in SHDB, if you put the =DOC in the Transaction box and press enter, system will provide the popup to enter another invoice.

You want to change the doucment type after you have posted the document, you can do so, by following config
IMG . Financial aaccounting > Financial aaccounting basic setting > Document > Rules for changing document > Document change rules document header.
If you are posting through FB60, you can go to EDITING OPTION once you are in FB60 screen. And under Document type option, select Entry with short name

It sounds as though the filename extension association has become confused on your system. It's odd that it happened after conversion, but it should be easy to fix nonetheless.
Here are some instructions for changing file associations on both Mac OS and Windows:

Posting key is not assigned to the document types.
Posting key can be assigned to a particular trnsaction event etc., for example in OB40 for each transaction key in tax area, you can ddefine the posting key for bedit and credit.
However you have the option to create a validation to check that this particular document type is allowed to be posted with certain posting keys. Validation can be created in OB28, GGB0. The details are available in SDN. Please search that.

How to disable Details option for a Document in KM?

   I had created a Folder by enabling Versioning and Lifetime ,under public documents and i had uploaded a word file under that folder.I had given read permissions to the other user .He is able to open the document with read permission and is able to see the version of the document.Now for the user whom i have given read rights should be able to acess only current version document and he should not be able to see the previous versions(Details->Settings->Versions).
     I want to disable the "Details" option for a document for the user to whom i had given read Rights.if possible i want to deavtivate the "Down Arrow" mark which guides the user to see the options like (Details,feedback,rating,send to,create link etc)
    Please guide me in this issue.

Hi,
Let's first create our custom layoutset:
We will duplicate the ConsumerExplorer layoutset.
goto System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management.
Select User Interface -> Settings -> Layout Set.
Find ConsumerExplorer, check it and click Advanced Copy.
Uncheck Collection Renderer Settings and Resource Renderer Settings leaving only UI Command Groups checked.
select Group Levels to Copy: All, Add "my_" As Prefix and execute.
You have created a new layout set called my_ConsumerExplorer.
Now we need to copy the versions command.
Navigate back to User Interface -> Commands -> UI Commands. find the command versions. Check it and click Duplicate. give it the name my_versions, leave the rest as is and add to the Roles with Visibility the roles you want to be able to see this command. for example: "pcd:portal_content/administrator/super_admin/super_admin_role" for super admin role. Save the new command.
Now navigate to UI Command Groups, find my_DetailsSettingsSecondGroup and click edit. in the Command List find versions and change it to my_vesions and save.
Now all you have left is to change the layoutset of the iView.
goto Content Administration -> Portal Content. Navigate to your iView, open it, find the property Layout Set and change its value to my_ConsumerExplorer. Save.
Now test it to see if it works.

Hard to say what is happening without examining the file.

Fast change option in Sales order-Additiinal field required

We want to add schedule line category field in Fast change option in Sales order as we have a requriment of changing schedule line category for more than 20 lines in sales order...After sales order is created ,we go and change the schedule line category ...
Tried using MASS transaction but this doesn't have Schedule line category field.(VBEP table)
Table name-VBEP
Field name-ETTYP
In VA05 also there is no option to change schedule line category mass update...
Should we have to do in screen painter only for adding this field...

I need to able to print a pdf that is locked. It has fields to fill in but then to save a copy I need to "print" to PDF not save as a pdf because that is not an option with the document. Is there a way to do this?

Sorry I thought was just a one off, it would be no use for large volumes.
Do you not have this avaiable in the print menu in Preview with these documents?
I have also found a link on the Adobe web site that discusses that this facilty is enabled by the creater of the PDF.

If you do a web search there are various claims on how to save a protected PDF, I have'nt a way to test the proceedures. I would want a copy of any forms that I sent off, not sure why they protect them in this way, there must be a reason.
