RGB (percentage ) displays

I am evaluating LR2 on Mac OSX.
In most cases the RGB colour percentages in the LR2 Histogram panel broadly match the PSEelements analysis.
But there frequent exceptions to this - e.g. I have a 'Scarlet Lake' oil color sample which shows 124,0,13 in PSE but 62, 25,13 in LR2 ([percents).
Incidentally Phase 1 (V4 and Pro both show these reds with zero Green, matching the PSE.
This kind of effect is seen in many of the (purer) Red colors and in some Greens (where the difference lies in the Blue).
All color management options are set to Adobe in LR2 and in PSE
Subjectively the colors all look the same on the Display.

How do I like the M8? Now that IS a question. My main comments are:
0. I switched from Canon (D60) because of weight/size - never had an RF before. I am not a photo journalist or a professional. Every camera has its own 'comfort zone' - the M8 matches mine, it wont match everyones.
1. It is simple to use and I feel I am in Control (I always shoot RAW with Manual WB, -1/3Ev bias and Auto).
2. I can focus where I want to in the image.
3. Primes mean that I concentrate on the total image rather than being seduced into zooming in on the primary component. That is I take pictures of a Room with a Mat with a Cat sitting on it, rather than of a Cat sitting on a Mat ... .
4. Color wise it is great, Leica and CV lenses give me all I want.
5. High ISO noise is a bit of a disappointment - somewhat compensated by wide aperture lenses (but expensive) and an ability to hand hold at slower speeds - which seems to give me at least a couple of stops when needed.
My evaluation of LR2 (so far) suggests that with -1/3 EV exposure bias my starting image needs only to have exposure adjusted, a bit of Light Fill, a look at WB, and maybe a Blackpoint, and it is done, I have the basic starting point. And I dont have to export the image to Print it!
I find that Capture 1 is not as easy to use and lacks image management (Libraries etc) . And in some cases I simply cannot get it to give me the image that I can easily get from LR2 (and this is on both M8 and D60 images) This link

Get the Ratings and Percentage displayed in an Activity Survey

We want to display the Survey Rating and Percentage displayed on the survey created under Activities in CRM_SURVEY_SUITE.
The function module is:
Callback to PBO: (empty)
Callback to PAI: CRM_SVY_ACTIVITY_PAI
If the same survey is present under Opportunities, we could see the survey rating as well as percentage printing on the survey.
This is happening because of the Function Module CRM_SVY_OPPORT_PAI.
Callback to PBO: (empty)
Callback to PAI: CRM_SVY_OPPORT_PAI
Now, may be because of the default property of CRM_SVY_ACTIVITY_PAI
function module, we are not able to see the rating and percentage on the survey in Activities.
Is there a OSS note to do this? Or what can be done?

Hello Abhi,
In standard this is available only for opportunity.If you need the same functionality you can create your own Z code and copy the same code from opportunity and call this function module.
I rechecked there are no notes on this.

Question re: 1920x1200 RGB LED Display and the Macbook Pros LED display.

My question to the Apple guys here is. What type of LED technology is used in the MacBook Pro's LED display?
I just did a side by side with my buddies new 15" MBP and my new DELL Studio 1737 which has a 1920x1200 which has RGB LED display. I had it second day air FEdEx shipped because I was dying to see this new tech.
And did it blow us away, supposedly since its this new RGB LED it displays something around 98% or 110% of the NTSC color gamut very accurate for graphics and photo work.
My buddy almost dropped when we saw the color accuracy and differences with the MBP. And why hasn't Apple adopted this superior technology?

Read it carefully, it says "Ultrathin 15-inch LED-backlit display." The "LED-backlit display" part means that the backlighting is LED (as opposed to fluorescent), not the display panel itself (which is LCD).
...Dell has the RGB LED backlighting....
The Dell display you referred to is an RGB LED display, it doesn't have (or need) backlighting. It uses red, green and blue light emitting diodes to produce images, as opposed to a liquid crystal display, which uses color filtered backlighting to produce images.
its confusing why Apple has not adopted this new tech to its high end $3,000 MBP 17 models.
Yet. The 17" MBPs are reportedly due for a significant hardware revision next month. In any case, RGB LED displays have their own performance issues when compared to LCD displays, so don't get too excited, and they may not be thin enough to fit Apple's ultrathin design philosophy.
I have no idea what RGB LED was it just seemed better, and boy did it pay off.
I'm sure you'll have loads of fun with Windows Vista.

Percentage Display for subtotals

Hello,
on BW 7.0 percentage display for subtotals make me crazy.
Material A
    Component 1            30
    Component 2            50
    Component 3            20
Subtotal Material A      100
Material B
    Component 4           20
    Component 5           20
    Component 6           10
Subtotal Material B      50
Overall result           150
Result should be % display for subtotals by Material.
Example for Material A
     Component 1           30%
     Component 2           50%
     Component 3           20%
I have no clue how to solve this issue. It always calculates with overall result.

Hope ur getting the Result as Subtotals..........
Use SUMCT for Sub totals and SUMGt form Overall Totals.As it is sub totals use SUMCT in the Formula.

Toolbar - rgb percentages to rgb level readouts?

The reading in the toolbar ... as one passes the cursor over the image ... shows the corresponding pixel values in RGB percentages.
This is meaningless to me, and worse, useless.
What I need are the rgb level readings, as in ACR or any other program.
How do I change to those? I can find no info on this yet in my searches.

I found that thread just after posting this one.
I am rather surprised they decided NOT to do something they and every other raw converter designer has done ... let the user choose an output space and give the levels for that output space. Otherwise, as they have chosen to do, their "output" file is useless as a final product. You have to check it in something else, and adjust further, before sending to a lab.
With that as their final deal, this is a clunker of a program for my useage. We do all our adjusting of color/contrast/density and send to our lab with the express instructions they NOT apply anything to the files. Just print precisely as received, no color or density changes. I was expecting to be able to do this to all files, whether the raw's from my D200 or my wife's S3 jpegs. Yea, one program would handle all our "developing" needs.
Oh contraire ... do 'em here then open them in Photoshop also. How studid is that?
I hadn't even checked for this before buying the program because I had never seen ANYONE ... including Adobe ... say something so technic-geek stupid.
OF COURSE the levels would not mean anything unless you had a chosen output space. WHICH IS WHY THAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE WORKFLOW. Choosing your output space is ALWAYS one of the setup options.

FIX for Dell U3011 displaying YPbPr instead of RGB via display port

I kind of hacked my way around and got my Dell U3011 to properly display RGB instead of YPbPr (or YCbCr) over a mini display port to display port cable for my MacBook Pro Retina 15"! WOOHOO! no need for that stupid $150 dual link dvi to mini displayport adapter anymore, which was incredibly flakey and sometimes the monitor turned on, and sometimes it didn't etc... lots of problems.
Download the file from:

unzip into:
/System/Library/Displays/Overrides
It will create a new directory called:
/System/Library/Displays/Overrides/DisplayVendorID-10ac
Then reboot the system, and it should work. Go to system preferences, displays, color, and set the display profile to Color LCD.
This will *ONLY* work for the Dell u3011 and it is completely UNTESTED. Use at your OWN RISK. But you should have proper RGB colors after doing this.

I have an Onkyo AV Receiver TX-NR414, I'm using the HDMI passthru (connecting Mac to AVR, then AVR to TV) and my Macs where giving bad colors.
Connecting the Mac directly to the TV was ok.
So the problem was the need to force the Mac to output RGB, the above linked blog post has a link to a Ruby script that will create a profile with RGB output. Follow the instructions and it will get it right.

but when i drag&drop the region into column, the percentage column display the result as 'X',so any one can suggest me any idea to fill my requirement.

Hi,
you have to specify in the KF property how you want the calculation to be performed "along the rows" or "columns". Try doing that within your report.

following scenario makes me crazy:
Column A = 10
Column C = 20
Column E = 70
Column G = 100 as overall result.
Result should be:
Column B = 10%
Column D = 20 %
Column F = 70%
It shows always X. The result should be row by row.
I tried percentage function (% CT, % GT, RT) - without success
The result should look like:
                              A          B          C          D         E          F        G
Week: 34.2009    10          10%    20       20%     70        70%    100
                            10                     20                    70                   100
Currently result looks like
                              A          B          C          D         E          F        G

Also chek the Formula ,coz u will get X when there is a division by Zero.

Percentage display pattern in LC8.0 limited to 3 digits

Quite new to LiveCycle and loving it!
Now I need to create a form which allows a customer to fill in their "percentage rate of salary" ie up to 100%. I have created both decimal and numerical fields using various combinations of zzz9.99%, however no matter what I try I get a result of 5450%, NOT 54.50%.
Can I benefit from anyone's experience? Thanks.

Hi Bob,
If you look into the "Write to spreadsheet file", there's an input for the format specifier. This defaults to %.3f, which will save binary data in ASCII with only 3 decimal places. If you need more (say 10) then wire a string with %.10f and it should work fine.

Code for Percentage Display of Loading Own Content

I need an AS3 code for an external AS file that would provide
the percentage of loading the content of its own swf ( library
assets, etc ) and NOT external files. And then, after the loading
is complete, it should add an instance of the main MovieClip ( from
the library) into the stage.
( So far I only found code for preloading an external swf)

I already have a code that goes embedded in first frame of a
fla file and it works. The fla has two scenes, one called
“preloader” and the other just “scene”.
In the “preloader” scene I have this code in the
first frame:

I have being study about OpenGL ES for iOS.
I wonder that data of YUV format is can display without converting RGB.
In most, the yuv data have to convert RGB for display. But, converting process is very slow, Then, that is not display smoothly.
So, I would like to try to dispaly YUV data without convert to RGB.
Is it possible? If possible, what can I do?

I think you have at least two choices:
1 - Replace the colons with ', ' (comma and space) - sort of reasonable on screen and in an export
2 - Create a second page that has the same report but uses the "export: csv" template. Create a manual link to this page to replace the standard Export link. When such report pages are requested, they download immediately instead of displaying. You can, therefore, use commas in this one and <br> tags in the on-screen report version

Status bar, RGB colour as 0-255

Is there a way to show RGB values as 0-255 rather than percentages in the status bar? The RGB option displays floating point numbers, then there's percentatge and HSV options only in the prefs.

If you have a really good reason to do so (otherwise, just for fun) you can build the ability in a project.
Here's an example:

You can drag the RGB 0-255 group to your Favorites folder in the Motion Library for reuse.
All it is, basically, is 3 number generators (animation turned off) linked to the red, green, and blue color values and scales these to 2.55 times their value. The way Numbers works is the value will be 100 times what you might expect (you can choose different display types -- my preference was Hexadecimal -- aka HTML color).
It's not that difficult to retrain yourself to see number values as decimals or percentages. The range 0 to 255 comes from the Hexadecimal representations translated as base10 values. It really doesn't matter what the "counting" system is, the 3 values represent magnitudes and RGB color is relative to the combination of magnitudes (including saturation and brightness). If any one of the 3 values is 0, the saturation is 100%. All 3 values equal to each other, the saturation is 0%. All colors are the combination of any 2 values with the third value "contributing" to the desaturation (or 1 value and the other 2 equal to each other contributing to desaturation). The maximum of any of the 3 values determines the brightness. If you know your color wheel, that pretty much covers it.
