RH 10 - chm opens but topics are not displaying

Hi,
I generated a chm file, and save it on our network drive for others to open and review. When they open it, the topics are not displaying. Should it work that way? Should the chm be on my local machine for it to display the topics properly?

Are you using Chrome? Try opening it in MSIE and see if it opens properly. From my experience the Chrome bug seems to be fixed – but perhaps not?

Help topics are not displaying when using Windows 7 / IE 9 / RH10

We recently upgraded our library from RH8 to RH10. Also used a trial version of RH9 in this process. Now when we compile several of the projects have issues where help topics do not display when selected in the TOC or when a link to the topic is clicked within another internal topic. It is in a continous loop in the browser (like it is trying to load). If you right-click on the topic it displays (we are currently using this as the work-around). Anyone else having this problem?? I saw something similiar for Windows8/IE10, but the fix does not apply here (http://forums.adobe.com/message/5138909#5138909#5138909).

I (April) apologize I have been OOO and have not been able to respond to your replies.
Let’s start over.
We have an issue where help topics do not display when selected in the TOC or when a link to the topic is clicked within another internal topic. It is in a continous loop in the browser (flickering like it is trying to load). If you right-click on the topic it displays (we are currently using this as the work-around).
We use Windows 7, IE9 and RH10 for all our projects. (Recently upgraded from RH8 to RH10)
Turns out the problem is not isolated. I have run across it in at least one other project, which leads me to think it also occurs in others.

          No. I it ALSO occurs when launched from the start page.
Have you tried deleting the CPD file and reopening Rh and the project?
          Yes, without success.
Are you using any redirects?
          Per (Adrienne), “I am not using any redirects. I encounter this issue only in IE. If I paste the .htm into a Firefox browser, the help displays as it should.”
          I will add that the project also displays incorrectly in Google Chrome.

Help topics are not displaying when using Windows 8/IE 10

I have a WebHelp system created in RoboHelp 7. When opening that Help from our application using Windows 8 with Internet Explorer 10 and allowing blocked content, the Help topics do not display in the right pane when clicking a topic from the Contents in the left pane. Below are the steps:
1. Open the Help system from the Help menu within the application.
2. The Allow Blocked Content displays and I allow it.
3. The Help opens and if I click a topic from the TOC in the left pane, the topic doesn't display in the right pane.
A workaround we found was to widen the left pane and the topic then displays. Also, if you don't allow blocked content, this issue doesn't happen. However, I need to allow blocked content in order for PDFs within the Help to open properly and also because the Search doesn't display without allowing blocked content.
We also tested this with a Help system that was created using Robohelp 9 and have the same issue. I'm wondering if RoboHelp 10 would solve this problem.
Does anyone know if IE 10 requires Help systems to be created in RoboHelp 10 to work properly, at least when allowing blocked content?

It seems to be time for the old divide and conquer approach.
Zip up the project so you have a copy that cannot accidentally be opened and worked on. That gives you a copy that you can safely revert to later if needed. Save the zip file somewhere safe.
Then create another copy of the project so that you have two copies that can be worked on.
Open Copy 1 and delete half the topics. Ignore any broken links reported. Generate the help from that copy.
Open Copy 2 and delete the other half of the topics. Generate the help from that copy.
It should be the case that one copy is now OK and one still has the problem.
Trash the good copy and then create a second copy of the copy with the problem.
Repeat the process until you have located whatever is causing the problem.
The process takes less time than you might think.

Synced bookmarks can be searched for and found but many are not displayed on the complete scrollable bookmarks list.

How odd. I've a somewhat complex bookmarks menu hierarchy, perhaps two dozen folders each containing between five and fifty bookmarks as well as a sub-folder or two. All of this is synced and displayed correctly with the bookmarks tab in the app, except for some of the more recent bookmarks that not organized into folders, and are floating inside the bookmarks menu. Of thirty or so, only five appear. Yet, when I search for them within the app they are found, including several bookmarks made today. These are bookmarks contained in the bookmarks menu but not in any particular folders. Clearly they are synced, yet the entire contents of the bookmarks menu are not displayed correctly in the app. Syncing otherwise seems swift. I've less than 600 bookmarks in total. I seek not to search for specific bookmarks but to browse my entire collection, so you can sense my frustration. I'd call this a bug. Any thoughts? Thanks!

No I didn't change anything deep beneath the hood. My problem didn't apply to the URL, but to the name of the link or bookmark header or whatever you would like to call it. (When hitting Ctrl + D there is a Name field). I only got ???????? instead of chinese characters in the name. Also for e.g. www.cntv.cn ...but maybe all China is not in the whitelist either. ;-) But anyway, this was not the real problem for me.
Apparently I was wrong as after a reboot of the computer it worked. The solution seemed to be to add Chinese to the language list. I don't know why it was not enough to restart Firefox?
Now I only have problems to show chinese characters in the name field of my external link manager... But I guess it is not an issue for Mozilla.

Applications are open, but windows are not showing up!

This has started happening recently. I first noticed this with iTunes but it's started happening with TextEdit as well.
These applications will be open and functioning correctly, and then all of a sudden, the window disappears. I can see the application is open in my menu bar and in my dock. In TextEdit for example, I would go to new, and then nothing will happen. I can close these applications and reopen them, but no window shows up. In order to fix this problem, I have to restart my computer, but this only solves the problem for a few hours.

Yes, sorry. Even though I had Spaces disabled, it's like it was enabled somehow. I fixed it by opening up System Preferences and taking out all of the applications in the application assignment window.
What is weird is the enable spaces checkbox was unchecked, but the applications were acting like they were being put into another space and not switching to that space. This is a bug that Apple really needs to fix.

Topics are not displaying in TOC - RH10

I've created new styles for Chapter Title, Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3 (I didn't use the existing styles for Headings).
I applied these styles to one topic following this hierarchy:
Chapter Title
Heading 1
Heading 2
Result: When I generated a printed document, only the Chapters (e.g., Chapter 1, Chapter 2) were displayed in the TOC. The "About this manual" and the sub-headings that I created (Heading 1, Heading 2) for that specific topic didn't appear.

Sorry Jeff but RoboHelp can create documents that will suit many users. Your way will give you more control over the printed document and the standards you need but then you have less control over the online help than the person working RoboHelp. "Horses for courses."
It looks to me as it may be as simple as checking the print dialog. On the first page there is an Advanced button. Click that and there is a field "Limit TOC depth". Maybe that is set to 1 and maybe later in the dialogs the Maintain HTML Levels is not selected. That would have the result described.

what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
are you able to view the photos in full size in the library?
what fixes have you tried?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

Yes, that is correct. The alternative is to quit all applications prior to logging out. Lion will then have a chance to remove the saved states.

HT204150 I can't get my contacts back on my phone from my icloud. It's up and running and I have already turned on the contacts. The icloud online shows that I still have all of my contacts but they are not popping up on my phone.

Go to Settings>iCloud and confirm that you are signed into the account that contains you conacts and that the contacts setting is turned on. Also open the contacts app and tap Groups (if you have this setting at the top) and make sure all your contacts groups are checked.
If they still don't appear, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (they will still be in iCloud), then turn Contacts on again.
If they still don't appear, force-close the Contacts app and reset your phone: double-tap the home button, locate Contacts, swipe up on the image above the app icon to close it, tap the home button again. Then hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release and wait for it to restart. Then check your contacts again.

Did you purchase them directly on the iPad or on your computer's iTunes ? If on your iPad in the App Store app then have you checked to see if they are on a different homescreen by swiping the homescreen to the left ? If they are on a different screen, and there are spaces on the first homescreen then you can move them :
Touch and hold any icon for a couple of seconds until the icons jiggle .
Arrange the icons by dragging them (don't drag too quickly). You can't leave gaps between icons on a page
to move them to a different screen drag them (not too quickly) and then hold them so that they are overhanging the edge of the screen - after a couple of seconds or so the display should change to the next/previous screen (depending on which edge you are holding it) and you can then place the icon.
Press the Home button to save your arrangement.
If you downloaded them on your computer then you can either connect your iPad to your computer and sync them across, or go into the App Store app on the iPad and re-download them via the Purchased tab (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519)

When i run FAGL_FC_VAL it display the report and generate the batch input session.
But when i run the session the error massage appear -
"posting to gl a/c with open item management are not permitted."
When i post the same gl mannually, it doesn't show any error.
The Same Problem appear when i run the session generated from FAGLF101- the regrouping program.
Can any body give some idea, what should be done.

When u run the fc val it posts the ex gain or loss to respective a/cs.Means those a/cs are not B/S a/cs.Only B/S a/cs we select open item management which r require to maintain on OI management basis.
So try to maintain other a/cs for ex gain and loss y bcoz once u post any transaction in those a/cs which r created already on O Item mgnt basis u cannot change that again.
Then assign those a/cs to automatic postings and run the rc val again

Dear All
I need your help.
I am trying to do some adjustment to GR/IR clearing account in Non-leading ledger. Since for this account open item management is ticked, I am getting an error message 'Postings to G/L accounts with open item management are not permitted'.
Now I have checked the forum to find some solution...but does not fit my requirement.
I cannot create a new account. I cannot change the existing account. I tried OBA5, but the message persists.
I also checked the notes.
Appreciate a response on how the post to open item managed accounts in non-leading ledger.

Usually, OIM accounts are not allowed for Non Leading Ledger postings... With EhP4 or 5, i guess, a new feature is added in GL Master whereby you can specify that a GL will be OIM for Leading Ledger and Not OIM for a Non Leading Ledger
