RH 7 print from toolbar cutting off right margin in IE

Topics printed with the Print button in the toolbar are cutting off the right margin in IE 7 & 8. It seems independent of the printer. This doesn't occur in Firefox.
Anyone encounter this before? Any documented fixes, or is it a known issue?

Hi there
I'm hopeful Willam will have an easy CSS fix for folks that insist on printing that which is intended to be presented on the screen.
Probably involves some @Print incantation or some such... Rick

  • Why are prints from Preview cut off at bottom of page

When I print a PDF from Preview the print has about 3/4" cut off the bottom of a portrait document or from the right of a landscape document.. When I print the same document from Acrobat Reader, it prints correctly. I use Page Setup before printing. The scaling in the other direction seems correct which makes the cut-off a mystery.
I prefer Preview for PDFs as it is much faster than Acrobat Reader. The cut-off prints have caused me grief when I have not detected them. What is going on here?

I have the same problem and can confirm it also happens in Leopard. There was traffic on a similar Leopard issue printing landscape to Windows shared printers that was fixed in 10.5.2, but it doesn't seemed to be solved for my situation (printing to CUPS shared printer). Note that it seems to be a bug in the way Preview creates a PDF for printing, since Adobe Reader works fine, and "lpr <filename>" from the command line will also work.
If you have any more info since you posted, I would be interested.

  • Pie chart drop shadows not printing properly.. cuts off right hand side of pie chart...???

Every time I go to print a pie chart that has a drop shadow applied to it, it cuts off the right hand side of the chart along with the shadow itself.  It looks HORRIBLE!!!  I went through and created a bunch of reports using that method, and now ALL of them have this problem.  It makes ZERO sense to me, and it appears that nobody else is experiencing this.  Does anybody have any ideas?

  • Printing to PDF Cuts Into Right Margin

I am having a problem where hundreds of reports generated by our CAD system print with a fraction of an inch missing from the right side of the report when they are printed to PDF.
    We use Adobe Acrobat 8.1.
I don't think this is a new problem but it was recently brought to my attention.
When ALL of these reports are printed to any of the 24 other HP printers we have in the building the right side of the document is not cut off. The problem only exists when the report is printed to PDF.
I am wondering if anyone has a solution that will allow these reports to print as they do on a regular printer - where all text is clearly visible. Is there a "shrink-to-fit" setting I don't see in the Adobe printer settings?
    Thanks,
    Matt

I did find a solution, but it does not resolve the problem.
I have several printers installed on my MacBook Pro. The truncation problem happens whenever the printer selected is my new HP PhotoSmart 7515.
But, if I change the printer in the dialog box to my Brother HL-4070cdw before I try to print to a PDF, then the document contents are NOT truncated!
So I found a solution, but it is not a perfect one.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • IP2700 Cuts off right edge

I have been using this printer with my desktop with no problem, but now with my new laptop, the 'scale to fit media' function always leaves me with my imagery cut off on the right hand side. I am printing from photoshop with an 8.5x11 inch canvas, and am printing on an 8.5x11 inch sheet, i have scaled to fit media checked, and the bounding box shows that the entire image is fit in with nothing cut off, yet when i print it always cuts off a couple millimeters off the right side. Is there a setting I'm missing, I've done a side by side comparison with my desktop and the laptop's printing screens and they look the same.

I am having the same issue with my iX6520. Margins are set to zero, borderless printing is on, it's scaled to fit, and it still is cutting off. It does this when I try to print from photoshop, and also when I tried to print from Preview. Attached is an image of the problem... I am also on a relatively new laptop (a mac).

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus, printing from web cuts everything off on right side

    Hello,
I am having a problem with my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus cutting of everything ont he right-hand side of my pages when i print anything from the internet.
I am currently using Windows 7 and I am printing from Firefox.
I use Gmail and anything I print from there does the same thing.  I see on several other posts here that they tell people to go to the File menu and choose preferences, but when printing from Gmail, I do not see anywhere that has a drop-down File menu to choose from.  I also see several people saying to choose landscape orientation to print, however it still cuts off the right side when I choose the landscape option.
When I print from Gmail I am just hitting the printer icon on the upper right corner of the email itself (when you put your mouse over the icon it says "print all"), or I click on the drop-down menu under that icon and choose "print".
When I am trying to print some web pages, I can hit the download arrow to the right of the google search box and then print the downloaded page instead.  This usually corrects the problem, but sometimes when I try to download a page, it says there is nothing to download.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thank you,
    Steel

    Hi @steel13
Since the issue only occurs when you print from Firefox, I feel it would be most beneficial if you reach out to Mozilla.
You might first consider resetting Firefox print settings; Fix printing problems in Firefox.
    Best of luck.

  • Printing window from Grab-always cuts off right side

I am wondering why Grab (Capture Window) captures the window perfectly, only to have it distorted when I go to print that window. Every time I use Grab for a window that I want to print, no matter what I do, the right side of the window (text/graphics) is cut off in the printing process.
Doesn't matter if I change Page Layout to Horizontal, the right side is never there in Print Preview. What is Grab intended for, if not to capture the whole window so someone can print it out? I don't get it.
I normally use the command, shift, 4, drag sequence which always works perfectly. So my question, is why is Grab there in my applications, if it doesn't do what I need it to do? I'm sure it has some good use that I am unaware of.
Can anyone tell me if I am doing something wrong with Grab? Thanks.

Hi, Jane. I have no idea why, but the same thing happens for me. A clumsy but effective workaround is to use the Save As... command in Grab, then open the resulting TIFF file in Preview, and print it from Preview instead of printing it from Grab.
Command-Shift-Option-4 has always worked so well for me that I think this is the first time I've ever opened Grab, and it may well be the last.

  • My Oracle Support documents print with text cut off on the right margin

Just a question to check if more people have this issue. When I try to print a document from the knowledge base on My Oracle Support (MOS) it always prints with a lot of text being cut off on the right margin of the page. I tried this with different workstations, OS'es (XP Pro, W7), browsers (IE6, IE8), printers, etc. but it's always the same result. My only workaround is to copy all text and paste it into a text editor. I've logged a service request for this, but Oracle doesn't really seem to care about it and after pointing me to setting margins in Microsoft Publisher (???) and an article on how to export tables on MOS, they pointed to the HTML version of MOS (which has exactly the same issue by the way) and our local IS department for printing preferences. Apparently they cannot replicate this on their workstations, whereas I can replicate at will on a load of different workstations. I know that it's best not to print on paper and read on the screen, but even printing to a PDF writer will cut off text. Does anyone have the same issue with printing documents from MOS?

  • 4500 envy cuts off right hand side of pdf document when I print to letter size paper

This is a new printer for me.  It is connected to my laptop with a USB cord.  I am attempting to print an e-mailed PDF document .  When I preview, I see that the right-hand side of the document is cut off  by more than an inch.  How do I get the printer to format the document to fit on letter-sized paper? • Hp printer cuts off right side of paper

    Hello,
I am new to this but I have a problem that needs to be answered pretty quickly please, when I try to print out an email the right side of the email gets cut off, I checked the printer setting and even the preferences but everything is alright, nothing wrong there, but every time I print I happens. Also when I go to print out a picture the picture turns out yellow, please I tried everything I could think of.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Hi - Can you provide the model of printer you're using?  That will help determine what steps to take to troubleshoot.  Typically though, when the print out is being clipped or cut off, it has to do with a paper size mismatch between the printer driver software and the settings in the software you're using (i.e. MS Word).  Make sure that the paper size settings in the sw (typically under page setup) match those of the printer (typically under printer setup).
As for the color issue, the first step will be to run a self test page on the printer to determine whether it is an issue with the ink cartridges.  How to run the test page from the printer is dependant on the printer model.
    Hope that helps.

  • Printing pdf files made from Filemaker docs on HP 7410 cuts off top margin

Just bought a MacBook Pro and jumped from Tiger to Snow Leopard.
Also bought FileMaker 10 replacing the FileMaker 8.5 I used up till the MacBook Pro purchase and system upgrade.
Still using the same HP 7410, but during installation, I think I remember upgrading the printer driver. At any rate, this HP Printer is now much more responsive. It was previously very slow.
When I now save documents printed as pdf's from filemaker (as I used to) and then try to print them on the HP 7410, they open fine in Preview showing the whole page with no text cut off. But when I press Print in preview and I get the HP driver preview of what will print as part of the print dialogue box, it shows the top margin of the page cut off (down to at least 1/2 ") and actually prints that way. Before the switch to Snow Leopard and the MacBook Pro, a top margin of 1/4 " worked fine and printed in pdf docs.
(top margins of 1/4" on Word & Excel documents I tested still seem to print fine)
I use the borderless printing work-around, but that seems inelegant. It also takes much, much............much longer to print when it's in that mode (even fast draft).
    Why is this happening?
Is there a setting I am missing?
    Can this be fixed?
    Steve

What print driver are you using?
I set my printer to use the open source Gutenprint driver in place of the one supplied with my printer to resolve an issue I was having - see my post http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1626340&tstart=0
The Gutenprint home page is http://gutenprint.sourceforge.net/index.php3

  • How to make pdf of IE page without cutting off right edge or getting illegible font?

If I create a PDF from the Acrobat Pro X toolbar, it cuts off lines, instead of wrapping them as they are displayed and printed. Actually, it looks like they are folded back upon themsleves at the right side, as if there is no "new line" along with the "C/R".  If I print to PDF, I get illegible weird characters, almost as if it were a windings font.  I already did a repair reinstall, which is when the weird font started.  The cutting off started before then.
All PDFs I make from Office documents are still normal.  A PDF made either way from FireFox is still normal.  If I print from I.E. to paper it looks normal. Must be some weird interaction with I.E. 8.0.60001.18702.  Using XP.
Cannot find a similar topic that discusses this.  Using Acrobat Pro X; no updates are available so I must be current at 10.1.4  This is on a corporate PC, so I am limited as to what system changes I can make by policy. It's also a major deal to reinstall from disk, as the techs have the CDs and keys and must do it.  On the other hand, they are clueless about the problem.  Have not heard complaints about this from anyone else.
    Can anyone help?

Still have not heard from anyone.  I think there is something wrong with the forum pages at Adobe; this is the site where I have the problem.  If I use the PRINT ICON on the site or use F8 and print to Adobe printer, I get garbage.  If I use PRINT PREVIEW at the right, on the site, it is OK and it prints to Adobe OK.  If I use VIEW AS PDF on the site at the right, it is OK. If I use the CONVERT ICON in I.E. 8, it cuts off everything on the right, from the REPLIES SECTION on down.
So the work-around is to either use the VIEW AS PDF command at the right or the PRINT PREVIEW command at the right.  It still worries me that the CONVERT icon in I.E. 8 and any PRINT to Adobe printer command will mess it up.
There are some places at adobe.com where things still work correctly.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

  • Exporting to PDF cutting off right side of the page.

I am exporting a Crystal Report to PDF. This works perfect on our development and staging server. However, on the production server the PDF is cut off on the right. Like, instead of being 8.5" wide, it looks to be about 7.5" wide? It just cut off the right side of the PDF. Very weird. Republished the site but did not change anything.
But here's the odd part. We have another Crystal Report on the production server that exports to PDF just fine. Just this one report, "invoice2.rpt", is having issues. "invoice2.rpt" was originally copied from "invoice.rpt" so all of the settings (that I have looked at) are exactly the same. This report was formatted a little differently than the original.
Does anyone have any thoughts about what might be causing this to happen?
    Thanks,
    Randy

    Hi Randy,
I have seen a similar issue in the past and the problem was due to the fact that some fields and or objects were placed in part or completely outside of the margins of the report. This can be checked opening the report from Crystal Reports > Design view.
I would suggest opening the report from Crystal Reports, select the option 'No printer' from File menu>Page setup and double-check that the report has been created inside the report margins (From Design View, the report space should be white except if the background colour has been modified).
If this does not help, please clarify if the issue is faced from Crystal Reports or from Business Objects Enterprise/Crystal Reports Server and the version you are using.
    Thank you,
    Selenia

  • Converting DWF to PDF using right click option cuts off right side.

I have 24x36 dwf files that I need to convert to PDF. (Printing Landscape)
When using the right click option in explorer, "Convert to Adobe PDF", the conversion cuts off about 6" on the right side of the page.
(I can "Print" inside my DWF viewer to Adobe and it works fine and I can set my default printer to Adobe PDF and select multiple at a time and it prints fine)
I currently have Windows 7 and Acrobat XI version 11.0.06.
    How do I fix this?

You might check the preferences in Acrobat and see if there are settings for DWF files.
