RH for Word conversions - version 5 to version 7

Hi,
We're considering an upgrade from RoboHelp 5.0.2 to RoboHelp
7. Has anyone out there converted an RH 5 for Word project to
RoboHelp for Word in version 7?
If you have, what issues did you encounter?

Hello, I converted just after the first of the year. Here are
issues I encountered.
1. you will need to replace any curly quotes (single or
double) with straight quotes in your doc. Preferably shut this
option off in Word under autocorrect. The utf-8 feature does not
handle curly quotes. Basically when it encounters a curly quote, it
deletes it in the output.
2. the robohelp.dot file is set to automatically update the
template. I'm told there is a way to shut this feature off, but I
haven't found it yet. This is annoying.
3. when you generate a chm, the dialog box to launch the chm
comes up with an mskstor error. This may have something to do with
the character sets. The chm still works, you just may not be able
to launch it from the db.
4. you will need to setup the properties to generate the chm
file. the webhelp was fine. I lost the chm settings during the
conversion.
Otherwise, it is do-able. Hope this helps
In one project, I have 12 docs. 951 topics. I generate chm
for my testing, but deploy webhelp using RH7 for Word.

I need to convert pdf file to Word 97-2003. When I follow all the steps it moves into the uploading file stage and then gets hung up and doesn't finish download. Blue down load file indicator stays on but download doesn't happen.

Does RoboHelp 10 include RoboHelp for Word? The earlier version RoboHelp 9 included RoboHelp for Word.

I reinstalled Adobe RoboHelp 10 all over again but this time more carefully keepign watch at each step. The option to install RoboHelp for Word is present but it's not installed by default and the option itself is not easily noticed during the installation. During installation, you need to select the product 'Adobe RoboHelp 10' in the left pane of the install wizard and it shows up the list of sub-options (one of the sub-options is RoboHelp for Word) in the right pane of the install wizard.
I contacted Adobe Support and convinced them to log an product enhancement request from a usability perspective.
So that's that. RoboHelp for Word is indeed present in RoboHelp 10 but it's not installed by default.

I alrady tried to change the pre-adjustment in Acrobat X Standard for Word and Excel, that PDF files should be generated in PDF Version 1.4 out of these applications - but it did not work.

RoboHelp 6 for Word Trial Version

I downloaded and installed the trial version of RoboHelp 6. I
am able to run RoboHelp HTML but can not run RoboHelp for Word.
After I select the desktop icon for RoboHelp for Word, I am
prompted to open one of the sample projects. I select a project and
click OK. I then receive a Windows error stating that the
application must close. Once I click Don't Send Message, RoboHelp 6
for Word closes.
I am running Windows XP sp 2 and Word 2003. I do not have any
prior versions of RoboHelp installed on this computer. The computer
meets the system requirements for RH 6 installation.
Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

Did you install with your login and does that have admin
rights? If not the install will fail.

RoboHelp for Word 7 with version 5 source files

I am trying to compile a WinHelp 4 file in RoboHelp 7, and it
will not compile. The project is old and was last used in RoboHelp
X5. I would love some suggestions. This is a very large help file
and I don't want to recreate it.
Working on a Windows XP pc.

I am having the same problem.
A colleague sent me some Robo for Word projects that were
created with X5. I cannot work on them.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled RoboHelp 7 &
downloaded both patches. I can create and compile new projects in
Robo.
However, when I try to open one of these X5 projects, or one
of the project documents, the RoboHelp Explorer becomes
unresponding.
I tried creating a new project & copying a doc into the
new project's doc, tried importing one of the problem docs into a
new project, tried deleting the .rtf files out of the old project.
In all cases, the Explorer stops responding.
Grateful for any other ideas.

Actually it is opening in Acrobat Reader and file is on my desktop too, but still it is not opening.
I want to use Preflight feature of Acrobat Adobe and due to not able to open it i am unable to go with preflight option.

I installed BI Publisher 11.1.1.7 version for windows desktop. But after registering the Data definition and Template I'm getting the below error in the
OPP log file.
It seems the installed version of BI is not compatible with oracle apps version (R12).
Could you please suggest which BI version I need to install for R12.

Robohelp for html project conversion to Robohelp for word

We have created our documentation using Robohelp for HTML v
5.0.1
We find that the html editor in the program is too
restrictive. We would like to convert the entire project into
Robohelp for word.
I cant find any way to do this. We're willing to buy a 3'rd
party utility of hire someone to do it.
Can anyone provide some suggestions...

I was thinking that its easy in Word to put in a page break,
but did not actually try to generate a document from it!! Thanks

Our current work around idea is this: We will try to embed a
special line in the document, like "<replace with new page >"
then we can do a search and replace on the word document to insert
the page break. Then we can create a single macro that is run
everytime after the document is to be printed.
Does anyone have any thoughts about that possible work
around?

I've checked your account. I see that you just purchased the subscription this morning. The order is still pending processing, which is why you haven't yet been able to log in an use your subscription. It can take 24-48 hours for a subscription to process fully. I accepted a recent update for iTunes and now my version of Spin Doctor can't communicate with it any more. I don't think I can upgrade the Spin Doctor without buying a new program. Is there a way to undo the last iTunes update?

I accepted a recent update for iTunes and now my version of Spin Doctor can't communicate with iTunes, specifically, I can't get music files to go over to iTunes. Spin Doctor gives me a message indicating that iTunes isn't working properly.
I am using iTunes 9.1.1(12) and Spin Doctor 3.1.1.304t. I have investigated upgrading the Spin Doctor but I think too much time has passed and the version available are too far advanced.
Any ideas? Can I undo the iTunes upgrade? Is there a website that I can go to to get the upgrade for my Spin Doctor?

Firefox will not install. I keep getting a message that I have to restart my computer in order for updates to a previous version can be installed.

Every time I restart the computer and try to install firefox the same message keeps appearing. I attempted to uninstall the earlier version of firefox using "programs and features" in windows but the same message came up and thus I was unable to uninstall using that method. I have used a third party uninstall program which appeared to delete all traces of firefox including registry entries but I still have the same problem.
I am now in the position of not being able to load any version of firefox. HELP
