RH8 output as Word doc problem

I generated a project as a Word document to use for review purposes. The text is fine but I have an excel file that I added in as an htm. When it converts back to Word it's awful. Also a visio diagram does not reproduce well, but the problem there is that it's so small. Any suggestions for using Word for review with images, baggage files?

Could you filter out the baggage file when you generate the Word file and then manually enbed them once it has been created?

    Hi yogesh.,
    There is no standard possibility to do Word outputs in SAP.
    you can do manually..
    After the print preview, Select the menu Goto->List Display.
    Now select the menu System->List->Save->Local File.
    Now you can select the radio buttion Rich Text Format.
    Now you save the document as a .doc file (say test.doc)
    That is it!!!!!
    Anyway you can develop connection of Mail-merge technology of Microsoft and SAP ABAP class i_oi_document_proxy.

  • Samsung CLP310 printer- printing word doc problem

    i have had a Samsung CLP310 printer for a while and its worked perfectly, however, just recently it has not allowed me to print word.doc files , i have to convert them first to a pdf and then print.
    Does anyone know if there has been a change to the driver or if i have downloaded a recent universal software upgrade that has mucked things up? Any advice well.
    (I have tried the reset printers options etc..)

    We have a similar problem with 2007 Excel files embedded in Autodesk Inventor 2008. The pdf preview will look fine, but the PDF file has the black box that you are talking about. Also happens when we print to a Xerox Phaser 7300. When we print to a "HP designjet 800" it will print fine. Does it has something to do with the Xerox printer driver???? We have all the latest updates we beleive? We started with Acrobat Adobe 8.1.1, a new install shouldn't have to install 8.0 first should it?
    Specs: O.S.: XP Pro x64 Edition Version 2003 sp3
    Machine: H.P. xw9300 Workstation, AMD Opteron Processor 250,

    please can you help, when using adobe export to convert a pdf file to word.doc I receive a coverted file that often has a image box in and some of the document is correctly converted so i cannot copy and paste the document. I also find that I get a word document that has interesting highlight areas and blocks which also prevewnts me from using the document. please help thank you much apprecaited

    I have a requirement wherein I need to PRINT a MS Word Document linked to a Material Master using SAP DMS. I had searched the SDN and found that the FM CV150_PRINT_DOC has been used by some of you for similar purposes.
    Can anyone please describe how the FM can be used for the purpose mentioned above.
    Please also let me know if it is possible to create an OUTPUT TYPE to be associated with the print program that I shall create.

  • Linking Word Docs in RH8 - Need Workflow Critique, Best Practices Tips, etc.

    Writer 2: Word 97, Acrobat Pro 8
    Software industry
    Help File Specs: Using RH8 to output to AIR Help (prior to current project = CHM), approx. 500 topic legacy help system (apparently created several years ago from the Word U.G; no CSH, index, or glossary); project uses one master page and one CSS
    Project Challenges: Big new features being added at the 9th hour, deadline moved UP by two months, have just been given a writer to help document new features but she only has Word and Acrobat (and we both work from our home offices)
    After reading everything in the RH Help on Linking Word docs, Peter's info (RH8 Tour on Grainge.org), the related posts I found here, and watching RJ's demo on Linking vs. Importing, I've come up with a tentative workflow. Going to do some tests, but wanted to get this posted in the meantime.
    Workflow
    1. Generate separate Word file for each of the existing RH topics Writer 2 will need to update.
    2. Apply template to Word files that matches my CSS styles (?)
    3. Create Word template matching my CSS styles for Writer 2 to use for new topics.
    4. Writer 2 updates/creates content. Each Word file =One RH Topic.
    5. I delete the existing topics she now "owns" from the project.
    6. When she's done with her first pass, I link all of these into the project.
    7. When she supplies revised files, I drop them into the folder, then do "Update" (or "Force Update"?)
    8. She also supplies a commented PDF version of each file to me to say "XYZ.jpg goes here" or "Make sure to include this topic in the TOC". (From what I've read, images from Word to RH = headache, and I don't enjoy files names such as "Image0001"...already a big pain since this project originated in Word and my client is in love with screen captures...trying to "wean" them off.)
    Questions/Comments
    - I know you can bring TOC entries over from Word, but think I'll spend more time messing with trying to integrate into the "master" TOC than just manually doing it.
    - Can I just have Writer 2 use the Word Comments feature to pass info on to me, or would those show up in my output or cause some other issue?
    - Can Writer 2 use Word cross-references that would become hyperlinks to the correct topics in RH given above (or would all of her "topics" have to be in one Word file to do this)? Any way she can "code" text to end up creating a link to one of my topics, or am I going to have to do this?
    - Would I be better off generating one big Word file for her to edit, then telling RH to break it at a certain heading style instead of the 1-to-1 ratio I had in mind?

    In my own opinion, Panning is a nice attempt, but just doesn't cut the mustard. It's nowhere near as good as the panning one sees with Camtasia Studio.
    I might suggest combining Camtasia with Captivate for the ultimate development set. There are aspects Captivate shines in when compared with Camtasia, and there are aspects Camtasia shines in when compared with Captivate. So I say if you can afford it, go for it!
    Now I know that both packages are sort of pricey and not everyone can afford both. In that case you might want to try Jing, which is free to use. I've not looked very deeply at it, but it may offer some of what Camtasia does. You could then use that for your panning and enhance Captivate that way.

    This is Naveen. I got stuck up with a problem/doubt. URGENT ! URGENT !
    My doubt is how to capture the output of a jsp page(the content is dynamic generated) and save that output to a MS-Word doc file.
    I know that therez an option of using Servlets Filters, but this concept is supported by Servlet 2.3 spec. and not earlier. And we are working on previous spec. and our web-servers also supports the prev. version and not the 2.3 version.
    If incase, therez a third-party utility for free usage, suggestions are appreciated.
    Hope most of them came across this kind of functional requirement. If anyone of them succeeded in this, please express ur bitter experience if any, faced during the coding.

    You can set the MIME content type as .doc and try to open the Page.
    res.setContentType("application/vnd.ms-excel"); to generate the Page output as Excel
    res.setContentType("application/vnd.ms-word"); to generate the Page output as MS Word doc

    Referring to your previous message when you said you'd converted via Acrobat and not Acrobat.com, I'm converting via Acrobat.com because that's the only option that is shown (how do I convert via Acrobat? - perhaps that would be more successful).  I'm using the Export PDF website, and the OCR is enabled to "Recognize text in English UK".  However, I've just tried converting a different LPA pdf form, this time for Health & Welfare https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/245571/LPA114_He alth_welfare_LPA.pdf and again I have the same problem as before.  I've altered it from "Read only" and thought I'd then be able to enter text, but "Drawing Tools" is shown in the pane and I'm unable to enter anything onto the form - everything appears to be in images.  Also, the lettering on the heading of' page 1 has become jumbled, with the word "Public" overlaying the word "Guardian."  Any suggestions as to what it is I'm doing wrong would be welcome - I don't like to be beaten!

    Your problem is likely with the PDF not having the tags that provide the format information you are expecting. Such information is not needed for the PDF, but is used for the conversion back to WORD. You could try converting a file from DOC to PDF and back to DOC with both a print to the Adobe PDF printer and PDF Maker to get the format info. See how they compare and you should get the idea.

    But the real problem exists when i'm trying to open it from my web-dynpro thru java, it never opens in a correct format(i mean it never opens at all). When I stored it in local machine to open it from notepad, i could see all the junk data along with original text.

  • Problems converting Pages to Word.doc

    I am new to Macs and Pages so need some help. I have to convert files to Word as some of the companies i work for need word docs. the problem i have found is some characters (in tables etc) and bullet points disappear, leaving an indent in word, but not the bullet point mark. This is very frustrating and have had to resort to opening text doc or pc office application and changing it all. what am i doing wrong?

    Welcome to the forum.
    Word allows you to use dingbats from various standard Windows fonts, such as WingDings, as bullets.
    Pages does as well, but it may be that the particular font used in the Word document is not on your Mac or in a different format. OSX favors .otf files, many Windows users are still using the old non-Unicode .ttf files.
    When you open a file it may tell you that the font is missing and you may be given opportunity to open the font or replace it with another.

  • Problems importing a Word doc into Robohelp HTML

    I have a 116-page Word document with 13 chapters. When I
    import this document into Robohelp HTML as a winhelp output file,
    only two topics are created, rather than 13. On the Conversion
    Options window, I select to have new topics created by Word style
    "Heading 1" which are my chapter titles. Why doesn't Robohelp
    create the topics, and what should I change to faciliate that?
    Also, why don't my numbered lists from Word stay numbered in
    Robohelp? Is there a way to automate numbered lists?

    When I insert .gif files JDeveloper ends with a message saying "Process exited with exit code 0". I then go and check in the database and I find the image added to the table.
    With a word doc, JDeveloper does not give that message. No message at all regarding what the status of the process is. And the document is not added to the database. No error messages too. Could this be an issue with Oracle?

  • Problems with Pages 5 docs converting to Word docs

    It seems with the new upgrade on my MacBook Air, I have a glitch. Now when I convert a Pages doc to Word, the page breaks get removed and the doc turns into a sea. Also, I sent this new Word doc to my Kindle to upload into ebook form (never had a problem with Pages 09 previously, always came out beautifully) and now the doc turns into a digitally mangled mess. Any ideas?? Thank you.

    Usually when it does that it is because there is an XML table somewhere buried in there and either the table width or margin indents are forcing the text far left.
    Hard to pin down the problem with being able to examine the actual file contents.
    …and Pages 5 is buggy.
    So why don't you just use Pages '09? It works.
