Rich format text

When I use my Mac Book Pro and Mac Operating system to compose new messages on Hotmail, I am unable to activate the RTF (Rich Text Format) in TOOLS either using Safari or Firefox. When I click on the TOOLS tag, nothing happens. It is too bad because this way I can't select the font or color of the text. I can't even change the font here either. Can someone please let me know if there is any way to fix this?
Thank you very much in advance for your answers.
Best regards,
Jordi

You might try another browser, Opera. Sometimes editing services like what you are referring to only support one browser or maybe only Windows.

  • How to store the rich formated text and screendumps in Oracle database

    Hi,
    I will create an FAQ management system. Users can log into the system, search and view the FAQ and answers. To be intractive, the users can also create new FAQ and add the comments on FAQ answers.
    The FAQ answers have rich formated text and the screendumps in the mid part of the answer. It should be presented in one page during user read/update the answers. How can I store the FAQ answer to Oracle database?
    Best regards,
    Ning

    I used blob to store pictures.
    The FAQ answer is the combination item of formated text and pictures. Can I use it to store?
    If I decided to use blob, how can I present the FAQ answers to the web. How can I edit the answer on the web?
    Thank you very much!

  • Can no longer past formatted text into Mail in iOS 5...

    With iOS 4.x on my iPad, I was able to past in rich, formatted text from other apps.  So I could compose an email with colored text, different fonts/sizes, bulleted lists, etc. in another app and past it into Mail.  It would keep all of it's formatting.
    With the upgrade to iOS 5, this no longer works.  Everything I paste into Mail has no formatting.  I saw this first on my iPad 2 but I just tried on my iPhone 4S and the result was the same.
    Even if I receive colored text in an email, I can't copy it from one place in the email to another and keep the color format.
    Is there some new setting that is disabled that stops me from doing this?  Is anybody else seeing this problem?
    Thank you,
    Roman

    I am using indesign CS2 and i'm trying to import a Word document into a new chapter for a book i'm laying out. it's about 30 pages, but there are at least 80 foot notes. i'm able to get about 1/2 of the document with the footnotes to flow correctly, then EVERYTHING disappears. the only way i've been able to get the remaining text to appear is by adding characters to the text. i'll hit "vvvvvvvvvvvv" a bunch of times and "magically" a little chunk of text and it's footnotes appears. then the ole disappearing act happens. so i do it again. i'm able to get all the text to appear finally, but when i delete the "vvvvvvvvvv" from the places i inserted them, the text disappears again. i have no idea why this is happening or how to fix it. any ideas?
    thanks so much,

  • How to -format text  in web dynpro?

    Hi all,
    I want to display text messages in web dynpro in different colors.
    and also to display some text in bold, some in italics etc
    How can i achieve that?
    Points assured for help?

    shobhendra,
    Direct support for rich-formatted text is not available in current release of WD Java (though it exists in NW04s WD ABAP).
    For workaround (HTML display) please refer my blog post:

  • Imbedded Pictures ALWAYS sent as binary no matter "Plain Text" or Rich Formatting.

    When I send an email with an imbedded photo, the recipient always gets a huge file of binary information. Changing back and forth from Plain Text or Rich Formatting doesn't make any difference. Sometimes the recipient can send the binary file back to me and I can now see the photo. The problem appears to be related to a single computer [but naturally the most important one]. The problem does not seem to happen on ATTACHED photos. I'm using FireFox 4.0

    Hello, and thank you for welcoming me. I was a frequent user of these forums a few years back, but since then I lost the ID I was using at the time, so I had to start over, unfortunately.
    In answer to your question, a signature with formatted text does make Mail send as rich text, so it would be a solution for that reason. However, my Dad is not, shall we say, an expert with computers, and since Mail inserts the signature upon starting a new message, I am worried that there would be times when he would accidentally delete it, especially if it's formatted to be invisible.
    However, if you know of a way to have Mail insert the signature upon sending the message, instead of before the message is composed, then that would be the solution.

  • How to display Formatted text in adobe form

    In adobe form, I want to display the text which is inputed by formatted text edit in WD ABAP application.
    It is always displayed as plain text like '<p>this is test text.</p>'. I have set the attribute Data Format to XHTML, Field Format to Rich Text for the Text Field in adobe form. But it doesn't work.
    How to display these formatted text?
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Jun

    Hi Juergen,
    I found Your blog and found it  really interesting... though I was not able to use it: I (like Jun Li is asking, I guess) need to use a dynamic text, containing formatting informations (according the xhtml syntax).
    I tried to pass it to the form by an ABAP-dictionary based interface and by means of the context (in a webdynpro page), but both tries failed.
    Some suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
    Thankyou

  • [CS3 JS] Add formatted text

    I'm working on a kind of templating script. This script adds text to the document depending on some input data, so the text can be almost anything.
    My question is whether there is a convenient way to add formatted text to eg. a given text frame. By formatted I mean a character style applied to it.
    I can think of a solution like inserting the text, then find it and then apply the character style.
    Is there a simplier way, by which I mean a built in function or so?
    Or has someone already written such a function?
    If not then this work is waiting for me, and when ready I'll share the results :)
    Thanks in advance for your help!
    Balázs

    AFAIK,
    You can do as you suggested : place, find and apply style.
    However, you may wonder about the process itself.
    As you create a template, why not thinking about using xml (or tagged text maybe but don't really know nothing about that technique).
    With xml, you can map a style to a tag. Hence, when you place the xml file, it will throw the text with the style applied at the first place.
    What I want to say, is that, as you want to automate things, maybe you can consider richer solutions.

  • Tabs and formatting text

    Hi, a couple of things. I know this is just a Beta version but:
    When I paste text into the controls it ignores all tabbing.
    When I try to align justify both left and right sides of the text it doesn't work.
    I can't import text where some of the text is bold, italic, or
    underlined.
    I can't import text where some of the text is in different fonts.
    I am trying to make an interactive book. So I need to be able to have properly formatted text.
    Perhaps there should be an option for the controls to contain Rich Text Format or HTML text.
    I would say the main things would be the tabbing, if I was pasting several paragraphs of text into a text Label or text Gallery. Second would be able to have bold or italic text inside a paragraph. I
    think that would be really nice! I would think that a Sienna should have
    more functionality than a webpage not less!
     I suppose there are ways round it such as doing a copy and paste of my text and changing tabs into several spaces but I shouldn't really need to do that.
    \^_^/

    Thanks. At the moment I've decided to just use Visual Studio Express to make my eBook using a WebView control to display my chapters.
    I think for me I still like the ability of Visual Studio to do advanced scripting.
    But I think Sienna is good for prototyping and it did inspire me to make an eBook in the first place.
    You could put a WebView component and it could display webpages with Flash content then people could make their apps in Flash! haha. It's all gone circular. :s

  • Implement a Formatted TEXT

    hello guys
    Is it possible that we can implement a Formatted TEXT edit to be used in our view other than the one we already have available in WD.I need one that allow more formatting and Text color and other more features. If so please explain to me how.
    Your help and support is highly appreciated.

    If you are on NetWeaver 7.01 you could use FlashIslands to integrate the Flex Rich Text Editor.  I have a tutorial that does just that:
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EmTech/SAPRichIslandsforAdobe+Flash
    The other approach that I have used in the past is to combine BSP and WDA.  If you use NetWeaver Portal you can create two iViews - one for BSP and one for WDA and place them in the same portal page.  The BSP can contain the BTF text editor or some open source text editor (I've used the CKEditor project in BSP in the past - http://ckeditor.com ).  The WDA and BSP can then communicate with each other via Portal Eventing. I use this very example in the SAP Press Book - Next Generation ABAP Development.
    In NetWeaver 7.02, the iFrame UI element is no longer deprecated.  You could then potentially embed the BSP application we describe above directly inside the WDA page.

  • Embedded fonts with rich editable text

    Hi, I am trying to use my embedded fonts in rich editable text field, but it only works for users that already have that font installed on their system.
    This is what I do.
    I embed fonts like this:
         @font-face {
                src:url("fonts/Cantarell-Regular.ttf");
                fontFamily: Cantarell;
                advancedAntiAliasing: true;
            @font-face {
                src:url("fonts/Cantarell-Bold.ttf");
                fontFamily: Cantarell;
                fontWeight: bold;
                advancedAntiAliasing: true;
    Then in my DropDownList (id=fontPicker) I add a new string entry that references my new font (in this case "Cantarell")
    I have a custom item renderer which makes sure to print out the name of the font using the font itself, so that for example font name "Cantarell" will be printed out using Cantarell font. Code in my custom font item renderer looks like this:
    <s:Label id="labelDisplay"
                 fontFamily="{data}"
                 verticalCenter="0"
                 left="3" right="3" top="6" bottom="4"/>
    And this part works, even if you dont have the font installed on your system, the name of the font is displayed propperly.
    The thing that I want to do is to select some text in my rich editable text field and change the font of the selected text depending on what user selected from the dropdownlist. I added an event which is called once user selects new font type, and it performs following code on the selection in rich editable text:
                   if(fontPicker.selectedIndex == -1){
                        //user did not select anything, we do not change the font
                        text.setFocus();
                        return;
                   //we get the text layout format of the selected text
                    var txtLayFmt:TextLayoutFormat = text.getFormatOfRange(null,text.selectionAnchorPosition,text.selectionActivePosition);
                   //we change fontFamily of the selected text to the font that we just picked
                    txtLayFmt.fontFamily = fontPicker.selectedItem;
                    // I even tryed to add those two following lines without much help
                    //txtLayFmt.fontLookup = FontLookup.EMBEDDED_CFF;
                    //txtLayFmt.renderingMode = RenderingMode.CFF;
                   // we update our selected text with new font
                    text.setFormatOfRange(txtLayFmt,text.selectionAnchorPosition,text.selectionActivePosition );
                    text.setFocus();
    This code works perfect if user has the font installed on their system but it does not work if they dont have the font even if I embed the font.
    What I am doing wrong, any suggestions, tips, links?
    Thanks,
    Dal

    Thanks I will take a look at your blogs, maybe I find some explanations.
    Once it comes to my problem, I found a solution, I just needed to add a simple style:
            .mystyle1 {
                 fontFamily:Cantarell;
    and set the styleName of my text to it:
    text.styleName = "mystyle1";
    Afterwards I can dynamically change fonts and sizes of the text selections in my rich editable text field as much as I like.
    Also I need to make sure that I set embed-as-cff: true;
          @font-face {
                src:url("fonts/Cantarell-Bold.ttf");
                fontFamily: Cantarell;
                fontWeight: bold;
                advancedAntiAliasing: true;
                embed-as-cff: true;
    I hope this helps someone.
    And if anyone has explanation to why embedded fonts work only after I change styleName of a text to a random style, please share with me.
    Cheers,
    Dal.

  • Import formatted text into Adobe Forms

    Hello together,
    I want to import formatted text in my Adobe form.
    I declare the text fields as "Rich Text" fields and the data format as "XHTML".

    I want to see: This is my name
    I tried several things like "This is <b>my</b> name", ... but I was not able to bring the text fat to my form.

  • Format text in mail 4.5 snow leopard

    For some reason I can no longer format text in Mail 4.5. ie can't select a word and 'command b' to make it bold.
    My preferences are set to Rich Text format so why does it not take any notice of my command?
    I only noticed this when I moved my general mailing stuff from an old G4 before getting rid of it. As there is no going back I need to find a solution - preferably one that does not involve re-installing the system from scratch.
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi ThrashNeon,
    Thanks for your reply but my problem was a bit more fundamental.
    Mainly due to the fact that some time ago I stupidly removed some fonts because of clashes whilst producing a job in InDesign.
    Having finally remembered that the problem was quickly resolved by turning the fonts back on.
    Very sorry for being so stupid.
    But thanks

  • Missing Format Text, Insert, and Edit Source, etc Options on Some Pages

    I’m having trouble understanding why certain pages have more edit options than others. I’m new to Sharepoint Workspace 2010 and I’ve been reading/ researching for answers for 2 days now. I tried to HyperSnap in some pictures however it will not allow me
    to until my account is verified and it's not sending a verification email, sorry!
    Issue:
    On some pages, I have the edit pencil with lots of great edit options such as Format Text, Insert and Edit Source. (This is good!)
    On some pages I have no edit pencil, but when I go to Page
    à Edit Page à I get few edit options, not including Format Text, Insert or Edit Source. (This is not good)
    After reading other somewhat similar posts, I noticed that on the pages where I get lots of edit options, they show SitePages in the URL. Where I get few edit options, SitePages is not in the URL.
    Is there a fix so that I can have the expanded edit options in all of my pages? Thank you for your help!

    Hi,
    In SharePoint we don’t have edit page options [ribbon toolbar page edit formatting options] for all types of page for application page we cannot edit application page like site pages
    again the missing edit button might be due to many causes:
    Can you verify that it's not a permissions issue? Try navigating to the page in edit mode by appending to the url: your-site/Pages/YourPage.aspx?ControlMode=Edit&DisplayMode=Design
    Or you can try this
    your-site/Pages/YourPage.aspx? ?ToolPaneView=2
    1. You can check  that on some pages the ribbon is hidden by default. You need to make it visible by clicking on "Show Ribbon" on the "Site Actions" drop-down menu.
    2. You haven't been doing Visual Upgrade (which actually replaces your master page with the v4.master)
    3. If you have different master page and may be your master page is not 100% compatibile with SP2010, nor does it use the elements from v4.master (collaboration) or the example nightandday.master
    To add the button in your page you could use the <SharePoint:PageStateActionButton id="PageStateActionButton" runat="server" Visible="false" /> (if you've seen already that would generate the button on the left side of
    the ribbon)!
    Please can you ping the URL of the page and how you crated that page to further assist, we would be happy to help.

    I'm not familiar with 'styled text'- which does not mean much other than it's on a very long list of things I don't know. But I do know you can cut several steps out here:
    If your script works so far then you can clean it up:
    tell application "FileMaker Developer"
    open "MacintoshHD:Users:stuart:Desktop:Practice.fp7"
    set mytext to record 2 of table 1 of database 1 as styled text
    end tell
    tell application "Microsoft Word"
    activate
    set myRange to create range active document start 0 end 0
    insert text (mytext) at myRange
    end tell
    Also try:
    set mytext to contents of record 2 of table 1 of database 1 as styled text

    Obviously, as seen above, I'm doing something wrong or Live View does not do all the functions that Design View use to do.  I realize I can still access Design View in non-Fluid Grid Layout documents and that is my current work-around.  I copy from my Word file into Design View available in non-Fluid, then copy that code into my Fluid Grid Layout document, not real efficient use of my time.  And, even that work-around may not be available after the next upgrade.

    Hans thank you for your reply and attention to this matter.  Moreover, with your steeped expertise I do not, in any fashion, intend to be flippant or capricious.
    However, I do not believe the reply is on point since I'm not discussing the insertion of an HTML tag/element; but rather, the placing of complex formatted text into my various web pages.
    Design View and  2014.1 Live View seem to serve different functions.  That is, Design View, for us, serves as a highly sophisticated HTML5 code generator that allows us to properly display complex formatted text that originally is created as a Word docx file.  As I noted in my original post, the complex formatted text from the Word file is then pasted into Design View and thus properly renders on the web page.  I invite you to try this yourself.  Simply copy my properly formatted text in my original post (that can be found at "Using Design View the web page rendered this way:") to a Word file, and it will retain the complex formatting, then copy that Word file text to both Design View and  2014.1 Live View files.  Please apprise me of your results.
    Discussion has been had in at least two separate threads on the Design View disappearance in Fluid Grid.  In https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1597260 staff member Lalita wrote "It would be helpful for us if you list the issues you are seeing with fluid grid live view editing."  And in https://forums.adobe.com/message/6807088#6807088 staff member Subhadeep wrote "If you can list down the workflows you are trying while editing in Live View & the issues you are facing in doing so, it will help us understand what is amiss & suggest alternative workflows to do the same."  I believe I've pointed out issues when attempting to use Live View for functions or work flow that customarily had been done in Design View.
    Being a CC subscriber, if someone can provide me with a workflow using other additional Adobe products to get my complex formatted text from Word ultimately to my Dreamweaver web page, be it an image insert or whatever, I would take the suggestions.
    The difference in the coding of my example in my original post is as follows.

    It is readily apparent that Design View is a much needed code generator in the Dreamweaver product.  Live View serves completely other, and needed, purposes.  Therefore, I still, after all the forum discussions, do not understand why Design View has been removed from Fluid Grid.
    Again Hans thank you for your reply.  But unless I'm missing something, citation to the links you provided does not solve my problem.  And that problem is this: If Design View is on its way out and thus will be completely removed from Dreamweaver at some point, then how do I provide my information (i.e. complex executive job descriptions) on my website?
    Apparently a vote is taking place https://forums.adobe.com/ideas/3922 on the issue of placing Design View back into Fluid Grid.  I do not understand why the need for two rather disjunctive functionalities are at the mercy of the democratic process.  These are matters of engineering principles not "town hall gatherings".
