Rich media session Licenses

I have 80 rich media session licenses for jabber guest deployement
2 expressway-c
2 expressway-e
if i install 20 licenses in each expressway how it will work
Please explain

Maybe easier to understand, to say that it will utilize 2 RMS (or traversal call licenses if it would be a VCS).
One on the -E and one on the -C.
So only the ones which are active in a call will utilize licenses.
(here "each expressway" would be 4 licenses, which is not what happens ;-)
In this JG deployment it makes sense to distribute licenses 50:50 in between the -E and the -C.
Expressway does not really know a model like "active/standby". (ok you could put
one of each cluster into maintenance mode, but thats in general not what you want to do).
I tried to find out a bit more how expressway clustering should behave regards jabber
guest, but I did not really find anything, looks like its just RR A records, ...
Within a cluster licenses are shared, so the -E or -C cluster can have allover 40 calls and
as Patrick wrote it does not directly matter how they are distributed.
With 4 expressways I would distribute 20 licenses on each peer, so also 50:50 on peer1 and peer2.

  • Expressway LIC-EXP-RMS Rich Media Session license requirements

I can't seem to find the answer documented anywhere on this. The docs state:
Each concurrent call session terminating on a system not using Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Business Edition or Cisco HCS (for example, B2B calls and Jabber Guest) requires a Cisco Expressway Rich Media Session license. Also, each concurrent call requiring interworking also requires a Cisco Expressway Rich Media Session license. Examples of such calls include H.323-to-SIP interworked calls or H.264 SVC-to-H.264 AVC calls.
So assuming I have an EX90 registered to my CUCM, and I want to place a call that terminates at some external companies video endpoint across the internet, by way of my Expressway Core and Expressway Edge pair, do I need the LIC-EXP-RMS just on the Expressway E, or do I need the license on both boxes?
If it's the latter, do you have to pay for 2 sessions to get 1 call like described, or can the same license be applied to both boxes (although it can only be registered/bound to one serial number) ?
Just the answer would be great, link(s) to supporting documentation would be even better.
    Thanks,
    Chad Marsh

I don't follow why it would use the RMS license on the C and not the E.
If the call I described were in the reverse direction, (from public external endpoint to CUCM-registered endpoint) would the RMS license then be needed on the Expressway-E?
A co-worker forwarded me a preso from Cisco TME tneumann that states the following, which doesn't really agree with your answer:
    <quote>
Rich Media Session licenses are consumed for either traversal or non-traversal call types
A traversal call will require a Rich Media Sessions license on both the Expressway E and Expressway C
    </quote>
There must be some call flow scenarios published somewhere in Cisco that documents this license usage?

  • Rich Media Session licence

Good day! Could someone tell me if I'm interested to get a call from a device which doesn't register in my collaboration deployment, do I need to get one or two license Rich Media Session? I consider only one concurrent call. According to Business Edition 6000 Ordering Guide I need to add Media Rich Session licence, but I can't understand one or two license for one concurrent. One this license costs 750 dollars. Do I need to purchase 750 or 1500 dollars fro one call from a device which is outside my deployment?

For devices that are not part of your organization, what are also termed B2B, you will need two Rich Media Licenses per call.   One license for the Expressway C and one license for the Expressway E.

  • AR9.1 Rich Media Annotation TextInput and Backspace Key

I've put together a test PDF see:
    http://www.amrita-cfd.org/4adobe/rich-media/shock-tube.pdf
that shows that the backspace key does not work as expected
for an a TextInput field in a rich-media annotation when
viewed with Linux AR9.1; at least not with my SuSE 10.3 setup.
There are a couple of other issues not alluded to in the test PDF:
    (i) the /Widget used to toggle the attachments pane does not work
in fullscreen mode; (ii) the /Widget used to zoom out from
    the rich-media annotation has /Normal, /Rollover and /Down
appearances, but only the /Normal appearance is drawn.
    James Quirk

    Hi Sandip,
Thanks for your reply. I'm glad to hear that the backspace
issue is being worked on and I'm guessing that you're
also aware of a similar problem with the enter key?
I agree that my non-Acrobat PDF might be deficient in some
way and it's also possible that my user preferences are
not quite right. But consider the following.
I re-jigged the test PDF such that the /Widget whose /R
and /D appearances were not activated now lies half on
the rich-media SWF and half on the background page.
Recall this is the /Widget that reads "Click to zoom out!",
which appears when the SWF is activated.
Interestingly, when I position the mouse over the /Widget
half that lies off the SWF (the right-hand half) then the
right-hand half does have its /R and /D appearances rendered.
But the left-hand half, the part that lies over the SWF,
is stuck with the /N appearance.
Following this observation, I re-jigged the /Widget to
print out the events its receives on the JS console.
And it seems that the left-hand half of the /Widget
is not getting /E or /X events, even though the
mouse correctly changes shape, but it does receive
    /D, /Fo, /U and /Bl events. The right-hand half
    receives all events as normal.
You can also try the following. Move the mouse over
the right-hand half of the /Widget, such that an
/E event is generated. Then move the mouse along
the /Widget towards the left-hand half: the second
the mouse reaches the left-hand half the /Widget
    receives an /X event.
Therefore it looks like there is some inconsistency
in the event model when a /Widget lies on top of
a rich media annotation, or at least the behaviour
I'm observing is not hinted at in the document adobe_supplement_iso32000.pdf which covers rich-media
    annotations.
Anyhow, I'll send you the original PDF as you requested
along with the modified one I describe above.
    Regards,
    James

  • Rich Media and mobile devices

    Hi,
I have opened a discussion at javascript forum but they tell me that mobile devices do not read javascript http://forums.adobe.com/message/4741591
The point is that Rich Media Annotations can not be seen in mobile devices, android tablets, ipad.
Is there any way to give a warning to the mobile device user that the PDF has Rich Media Annotations and a Windows or Mac Pc is needed to see it right?

  • Wanted working example of a rich media enhanced magzine

Does anybody know a working (live) example of a rich media enhanced magzine, preferably a magazine with flipping pages and (a combination of) normal and moving pictures (movies). If so please advise url, because a (moving) picture is more than  a thousand words!
The media could start as a pdf file with the rich media embeded and later on converted to a flipping magazine.

Here's a link to a promo video for an interactive educational magazine we produce. It's got embedded audio, video, and ancillary files that all come with it.

  • What software do you use for rich media ad development?

I am a flash designer that would like to start developing rich media ads. My my full-time job, I am designing and developing banner ads but they are just normal banners with clickTags and flashing buttons.
I would like to make them more interesting and widget like too, passing data via the database or allowing users to play and interact some how.
How do you think is the best way for me to learn more about rich media adds? Should I try a trial membership with a place like Eyeblaster? I have heard about their plug-in for Flash that allow you to develop rich media. But is that a good system? Do you know others? What is it like. And do you normally just get into rich media ad dev because of clients or is it mainly used by ad agencies? Also, for those who use it at work or on banners, did you recommend / purchase it or was it purchased by your company? Are you a designer or developer? Does it work with AS 2.0 or AS 3.0 or both?
Thx for reading and any replies thanks so much!
    Ms.Lee

Most web advertising is still done with AS 2 because usually an on release event handler is required for tracking the clicks.
A lot of rich media ads are produced by agencies. Or if a website sells banner ads, the company usually purchases the software for the in-house designer/developer to use and charges clients more for rich media ads. Companies like Eyeblaster usually charge based on the file size of the rich media ad, so they usually cost more to serve than regular old banner ads (and can take a lot longer to create) which is why they are more expensive for the client. Some clients want more than will fit or look good in a banner in which case rich media can be a good solution.

  • Your Web Intelligence Rich Client session is no longer valid. (RWI 00242)

    Hi,
I am running a report via BOXI .net SDK but after exactly 20 minutes BoxiReportEngine.GetDocumentInformation returns the  following exception: "Your Web Intelligence Rich Client session is no longer valid. (Error: RWI 00242)"
I have set my timout to 2 hours in my C# app with
                BoxiConnection.TimeOut = 120 * 60;
    before calling
                BoxiSession = new Session(BoxiConnection);
I have set the ODBC used by the report to 600 minutes timeout. The report has no "max retrieval time". Why is this happening after 20 min? Where can I change this setting? My BOXI installation is: BOE XI 3.1 FP 2.7 Update 12.2.7.598
BTW: I have not found any official documentation of RWI 00242.

  • Cisco CUBE (SP) minimum session license

    Hello,
I am trying to find out if Cisco offers less than 250 session license for Cisco CUBE(SP) edition. I am trying to setup a lab and so ideally I would like to have 10-15 session license. However, in the CUBE licensing section 250 session is the minimum I can see.
    Thank you.

    Hi there,
    Have you seen?
    2.1.1 Pay-as-You-Grow License
This  type of license covers the right to use the feature as well as the  maximum session count allowed. An example is the FL-CUBE-25 license,  which allows up to 25 sessions.
This  license is designed to allow a specific number of sessions (or calls)  on a platform. Purchase only as many sessions as are required in your  deployment. You can add more licenses later as your needs expand, thus  offering pay-as-you-grow benefits. Session licenses are stackable. These  licenses are available on select platforms as given in Table 3, and are  available on all software images. Examples include the FL-CUBE-4 and  FL-CUBEE-100 licenses.

  • Rich media web banners in flex?

Our company is looking into developing rich media and/or expandable web banners. I'm pretty comfortable in Flex and was wondering is anyone has built web banners using Flex instead of Flash. Thanks.
    Ryan

Flex is a framework. Although the output of both Flash and Flex is a .swf file, if you build it using the Flex framework the output file embeds components (e.g. button, scrollbar, text field, canvas), which probably you will not need if your goal is to create a banner.
E.g. the smallest app built in Flex is ~ 170000 bytes.

What are the limits and possibilities for delivering rich
media in WebHelp? Our company wants to deliver everything possible
with our WebHelp. Is there a good document on it? We're using

    Thank you, Bob and Himanshu.
I had a feedback for Apple. They told me that just one issue for a magazine is very little. The problem is that I just have one issue for a while, and just will get the content to built the next one in two months.
I think it's very strange, but it's ok. Everybody knows that it can happens with anyone of us. I'll resend my application and wait.
