Rich user Interface sample

I am just getting started with Flex. Can someone point to
some UI samples that this product is capable of?

To be completely candid, those are not good examples of great
creative design. They are simplistic. Matter of fact, I've probably
seen less than 5 great UI designs in a Flex application, sum total.
From a design perspective, the existing work out there for
demonstrating the visual capabilities of Flex applications is
pretty much nil. But, that's somewhat irrelevant because
technically any design objective can be achieved.

  • Forms 10g Design Rich User Interface

    Dear All,
i would link to design rich user interface in forms 10g.
for example : the button shape is circle , not only
    rectangle.
Is it possible to do that in forms 10g or import some java object from third party tools.
    best regards
    borisys

    Borisys,
the concept of Pluggable Java Comnponents (PJC) allows you that. PJC only change the UI of a component without affecting its functionality.
The Forms demos that are available on otn.oracle.com/products/forms contain enhanced buttons in teh form of mouse over effects.

  • Row currency has changed since the user interface was rendered.

    Hi All,
we have developed and deployed an Application in Production, before four months,
Suddenly for the past two days we are getting an error after the page being idle for 2- 3 minutes.
Row currency has changed since the user interface was rendered. The expected row key was oracle.jbo.Key[3259 ]Once we get the error, the session scoped beans are resetting the values, and all the vo's cache are getting cleared(All the buttons in the page will get disabled and the menu will disappear).
but the same EAR is working perfectly in UAT and QA environments.
We have changed the "Enabletokenvalidation" as false and tested again, but the page itself is not loading after the change .
We have checked the Production and UAT weblogic server settings , but didn't find anything wrong.
    WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.3.0
    Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.2.0
    if any ideas,
    please help us...

    Hi All,
We have checked the error "Row currency has changed since the user interface was rendered. The expected row key was oracle.jbo.Key[3259 ]", we tuned the view objects, we changed the application page flows, and it is found that once we turn off the statevalidation (statevalidation =false), the error is not popping up, but it is getting fired in the server side as
oracle.jbo.JboException: JBO-35007: Row currency has changed since the user interface was rendered. The expected row key was oracle.jbo.Key[3259 ]

  • Row currency has changed since the user interface was rendered on create

    Hi all,
I am getting "Row currency has changed since the user interface was rendered. The expected row key was oracle.jbo.Key" error on create action. Use case is simple. There is view table and a create button. When I click to the create button i am getting this error. Browser back button is never used.
The strange thing is i am not getting this error when i run my application on local envirionment. However after i had deployed it to the real development environment, it started to throw this error and i am not getting this error on other pages.

I changed my create button to create insert. The "Row Currency" error has gone and page is opened properly. However when i open a LOV (inputComboboxListOfValues and inputListOfValues), it throws an exception. I checked WLS logs and it logged the following error which i was never encounter.

  • Html report scrollbar in LV User Interface

    Hi Everyone
I'm designing a LV User Interface with a HTML report view. Everything is working nicely except that while the report is being generated the report text becomes wider than the report view causing a horizontal scrollbar to appear which then shifts the report view to the far right hand side. This is annoying and we don't want the operator to constantly have to scroll the horizontal bar across every time.
How can I disable the Horizontal scrollbar or enable the text to just wrap around. The culprit in the HTML report is when the full path name to the sequence is displayed, if I could at least disable the filename from being written that ought to help. This ought to be done within the reportgen_HTML.seq but where?

    Hi
To help you remove the report path from the report I will need to know what are your report settings.
Can you please post your "TestStandModelReportOptions.ini" usually found under <TestStand>\cfg folder.
To try to resolve the issue with the horizontal scroll bar I have a couple of questions:
    1. What version of TestStand are you using
    2. What version of IE is installed on your machine
    3. Can you please post a sample report and a TestStand Sequence File which causes this issue
    4. What is your OS?

  • Best way to create user interfaces

    Hello Everyone,
So far my work with sap NetWeaver  development was on the background processes but now i need to create some user interfaces, i read there are more than one way to do this like jsp, HTMLB , WebDynpro , and some others i think.
Can you give me some advises (and guides if it's possible) about what can i use?
The user interfaces must have the same look and feel as the SAP modules. I need to include some uploadcontrols, table views with sorting and paging features, buttons, list box, options buttons, check buttons, etc.
Also i need to send emails on demand and a task scheduler to send remaining by email.
Is there a user interface designer like dreamweaver or something like that to create user interfaces?
Hope you have some time to help me.
    Regards.

  • User interfaces to access Content services...

I am using the following user interfaces to access content services:
    1) Web UI
    2) Oracle drive
    3) WebDAV with Windows XP
But in the oracle content sevices data sheet which I downloaded from the Oracle site, its given there is a rich WebUI with dynamic tree structure with drag & drop features. I want to know if this exits? If yes, I want to know how to access that and work with it. Does it need any downloads or configurations to be done.

    Hi
I have selected "Accessiblity mode" button to launch the web interface. Now for this user even if i select the "Lauch" button. it still shows up the interface of accessibility mode. Is there any way I forced the user to switch back to the Lauch button interface mode.

  • Why hasn't Adobe navigation and user interface design improved as much as it could have over time?

I haven't tried CS6. I'm sure it's great based on what i've seen alone. But as a user of adobe products for a number of years, i have to noticed there are still a lot of stagnant, awkward, stiff, irriating, slowing down elements found in the navigation and user interface on cs3-cs5, that i'm sure could have been eliminated or improved on at least from 2005 or 2007 onwards. I find some of these things inexcusable and unprogressive from bad traits that defined 1980's and 1990's general computer navigation and so on.
CS5.5 has lessned this a bid bit and is more fluid in bits and pieces but for those using cs3-cs5 and in general, i find some things just horrid. As a graphic designer no one is supposed to admit the flaws or irrations of these programs. We must hail them as god, never critisize, and always adjust to new things which i think is a bit fascististic and silly
The way the tools, options are laid out can be improved to be quicker, and easier to find and use. Using your voice as a commanding system would be helpful as well.
A lot of cmds are too complex to remember, they can be simplier or resemble the name of the tool or option. Its makes a chore to follow this system and competition for the smart *** who memormized all the cmds.
The way in which you loose floating side boxes, and the amount of tools or names hidden in the bars sometimes seem random and its always a constant search to find them incase you forget where they are.
The inability to open cs4 or 5 files in cs3 is just beyond extremly annoying. Whey shouldn't you be able to open cs1 or 2 files or photoshop 9 files  as well? Every five years work expires as well?
The layering system gets tricky and seems that a lot of things don't work when you normally move things. Its about going back, remembering and clicking on this or that, looking it up to make everything work. Sometimes which leaves you in a rut and wastes a good amount of time. You will always find this even after you've been using it for years.
The use of the fill paint/airbrushing, clone tool, lasso tool, pen tool, history being two steps back can be vastly improved to be much better to use
Masking and tools that have more complex features should find a way be automatically done or sampled. They can also have less complex steps and tha ability to be  previewed,  automatic or simpler  ( in case you can't remember how to do something or aren't getting it)
A lot of the special effects, and blending modes are useless, outdated, super-ugly and don't resemble  true darkroom effects ( such as polarization, and bas-relief for example)  which they could much more vividly done. There also could be more options that are closer to repro cameras/CTP software for halftoning and more complex digital effects.
Having to press or get used to pressing muliple keys or clicks for the most basic things simultaneously can be reduced to be easier
Adjusting text, new documents, photos should have a smoother, quicker navigational experince where things a lot of room to be , clicked back, re-done, saved in the wrong place etc..
Indesign could use more shapes, include more features that illustrator has, and possibly even photoshop to save time.
There should be a way to remind you of features, complex things you've forgotten, other than history and daily usage/practice of the programs
The help should resemble more of "visual -learners" guide books with voice features.
    There are a lot more
    Regarding other things:
I think the price encorages more piracy and allows people to not have a concept of what is means to owning software.
The loss of a manual or lessening of them for certain programs is a loss because it's always useful to  physical info you can flip through while looking at your program.
I think adobe should make entirely better products for professionals or people in the industry rather than spoonfeeding the same software to all.
They should also make less expensive add-ons like before for graphic software.
What do you adobe could have improved over time and if so what do you think they could have improved on?

You have this wishform to suggest improvements to Adobe products:

  • User Interface Questions

I have already programmed some dialogs in JavaScript. I'm not using Script UI, although I've played around with Script UI a little bit. Now I'm getting a bit more advanced with some user interfaces and dialogs and have a few questions:
    1. Is it possible to create a "live updating" dialog similar to InDesign's Files > New > Document, where based on a menu selection of a preset, the dialog's editboxes change their values to reflect that menu selection?
    2. Can you program something like the Presets button in InDesign's New Document dialog where the user clicks "Save Preset", names it, and then the main dialog updates with the new preset the user just created.
    3. Script UI does not have measurement friendly boxes, does it? By that I mean that when you enter inches, mm or picas, the box will translate it into the current measurement type.
    4. I love the nudge option on the measurement editboxes. Can that be done via Script UI?
Ideally my coding needs to work in both CS2 and CS3 and I code in JavaScript because that's what I know, but if the "live updating" stuff is possible in AppleScript or VBScript I'd still like to be aware that it can be done.
While code examples of any of this are welcome, I mostly need to know what's possible, and any starting point you can offer will help (like the name of the control). That way I can start looking things up and figuring them out.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dan

Thanks for the answers Bob. They are exactly as I thought, but wanted to make sure. It sucks that we have to recreate (via code), things that were given to us before Script UI. I know Script UI is more powerful in some ways (and hopefully sure will get more powerful with time) but loosing measurement boxes is a big bummer. They had so many nice built in features. I feel like I need to reinvent the wheel with Script UI.
    1. Do you have any example dialogs that you could post? I can often figure out how to get a lot of stuff done by looking over examples other people have created. Especially things where one feature interacts with another, but even just a dialog with menus, text, etc so I can check out how to layout the dialog. I have created one dialog with Script UI, but am not sure if I am doing it very efficiently and I couldn't find any Script UI stuff in InDesign's sample scripts.
    2. I suspect if I use Script UI I'll have to verify that only numbers are entered into the edit fields right? I need numerical values only for what I will be doing. Any thoughts on the best way to verify it's only a number in there? Can I do that live in the dialog before the user clicks OK? Argh, all these complications make me less than enthusiastic to go to Script UI, but I really would like to be able to have a live updating dialog.

  • Re: Explorer like user interface

    Re: Explorer like user interface
You'll want to use the geometry management features in Forte.
These can be controlled using the WidthPolicy and HeightPolicy
attributes on FieldWidget (see p 160 of the Display Library manual).
You can set these in your code, or using the 'Size Policy' dialog
    off the widget property sheet.
    Do the following:
Create a Window class, get into the Window Workshop.
In the Window property sheet, set the Window Style to Resizable,
    set Autosize Enabled.
Create your TreeView and ListView, group them into a GridField.
In the TreeView and ListView Property Sheets, under Size Policy,
set the Width Policy and the Height Policy to Parent for both
the ListView and TreeView. Also set a minimum size for each (in mils)
the minimum size will prevent you from getting too small a window.
For the GridField, also set the WidthPolicy and HeightPolicy to Parent.
You may also want top set the Column Weight to the ratio you want for
the sizing of the Tree and List, say 2:3.
Now the sizing will work. You'll just have to write the code
to get data in you TreeView and ListView. Looking at
    the examples for outline field:
    $FORTE_ROOT/install/examples/display/soutline.pex
is a good place to start, if you haven't done it before.
    Good luck!

    Hi,
I would like to design a window which is similar to Windows Explorer.
Treeview in the left side, listview in the right side. I should be
able to drag and expand the size of the treeview. How is this possible
in Forte? I tried to use STATE attribute of widgets, but did not
succeed. Could anyone suggest me how to go about it.

Just to complete, here is a little sample in R3.F.2.0 done with
    Treeview and listView.
Be aware that to give the user the possibility to resize the left
part, you should manage it yourself. If you use an outlinefield
instead, you can put WidthPolicy to seleted and then use FS_ROUTE
state to enable the user to resize it. But this occurs a bug with the
resize of the window. If you try this with the treeview, it will
be converted to FS_SELECTONLY which is nonsense here.
Also, don't forget that ListView only does Ascending Sort (Microsoft
does Ascending and Descending). So you should need to manage sort
    yourself too.
    Hope this helps,

i have 3 panels in my application and parent panel is displayed first then i display other two panels which come to the front then on entering correct password i discard the child panel and then you can see parent panel , but there is an issue when i add menu to my parent panel i dont know whats wrong when i add menu bar in my user interface (parent panel)  gives me error that this handle is not a panel handle(return value -42) for a child panel. when i dont open and display child panel then its fine , and even without menu added to my parent panel all my panels and my application works perfactly

    Hello smartprogrammer,
some more informations are needed in order to properlu help you in this situation:
    - Are you adding menus dynamically at runtime or in the UIR editor? If dynamically: how are you loading the menu bar?
    - Are you dynamically tailoring the menu bar at runtime (adding or deleting menu items, dimming / undimming some of them or checking / unchecking)?
    - Can you post the code where you are getting the error, documenting variables and scope (local to the function, global to the source file, global to the project)?
You can look at uirview.prj example that ships with CVI for an example of LoadMenuBar (the exampl eis in <CVI samples>\userint folder): in that project, the menu bar is shown as a context menu when you right-click on a tree element (see DeferredMenuCB callback).
