RichTextBlock selection text disappears

1.I have two RichTextBlock controls placed in windows store application page. I use first to display text and selection of specific block and second to simulate dragging of text run. When I start manipulation of second one I return focus to the first control
in order to display the selection. In this case I can see the selection but text becomes black and it disappears.
2.Expected result is text in selection to have inverted foreground color.
3.Actual result is that text foreground color is not inverted as for selection and visually disappears.

First, see Replace Your Preferences and do it for the original account.
If that fails to solve the problem, rename the two Adobe folders that contain the prefs in the user profile for that account and copy the folders from the new account where it works. You want to be sure you copy the folders, rather than merge the contents, so you must rename the old folders first.

  • Text disappearing in pdf file

I received a word file that was converted to pdf using "pdf maker". In the word file there is "shading" behind the text. In the pdf file if I select portions of the text and try to "highlight" it to make comments, some of the text disappears. (The text actually goes behind the "shading" so that you can't see it). If I use the "touch up object" tool in Acrobat professional, I can select the "shading" and delete and see the text underneath. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks

I have run into this problem myself. I have been able to use the object selection tool (In Acrobat 8 Pro) to select the box in front of the text and delete it without also deleting the text.

  • Text disappearing in pdf when re-ordering tags

I have a pdf (Acrobat 8 Pro), and I have created it as a tagged pdf in InDesign CS3. However, when I convert it to the pdf, the order of the tags changes, so that I need to use the Touchup Reading Order tool. When I do this, however, text disappears. The text in the ID file is in an opaque text box, and what is actually happening when I re-order in Acrobat is that the text is moved behind the opaque box so that it is no longer visible, but it still appears in the Order dialogue box.
However, in ID, they are one object - it is a text box containing text, not a separate opaque box behind the text. Otherwise I might try tagging the box as an artifact and see if that works. Theoretically, I could select it in Acrobat to tag it as an artifact, but the selection tool only allows me to select rectangular areas, and so it selects both the opaque box and the text behind it.
    Any suggestions?

  • Why cannot I copy selected text from a pdf file opened in Adobe Reader XI?

    Hi all,
I had a problem when I tried to copy some selected text on a pdf file([Linux.System.Programming(2nd,2013.5)].Robert.Love.文字版.pdf) , which was opened in Adobe Reader XI as below (non-English version):
The error's text could be primarily translated as "An error occured when copied to clipboard. Internal Error." I'm not sure about the reason of this. I guess it is a problem or bug related to operating system or Adobe Reader XI. I had this problem when I used other versions of Adobe Reader though I cannot remember the exact number of versions now.
The version of XI I'm using is 11.0.0.  The operating system is XP SP3.
As I was writing this question, the problem disappeared and I cannot reproduce it again now.
Could anyone help explain why the error message appearred or why the problem disappearred? If there is referrence provided, that would be finer. Thank you.

    The document has been protected.
Even if it doesn't have a password, the original author has applied "plagiarism" prevention to it.
There is a program from Wondershare, called PDF Password remover, that will remove such restrictions, but I'm not allowed to recommend it, only to point out it's existence.

  • Text disappearing in tagged PDFs

I recently upgraded to Acrobat Professional 9. When creating PDFs via "Convert to Adobe PDF" in Word with tagging enabled,  I'm sometimes seeing text disappear in the conversion process so that whole lines are missing from the PDF.
Using the print dialog to print to PDF works fine and does not result in missing text. However I need tagged PDFs to meet high accessibility requirements, so should be converting from Word. Has anyone else encountered this problem? The version of Word I'm using is 2003.

Usually when this happens it is related to the printer reflow that WORD does. There is a setting in WORD to select to not use the printer metrics for sending information to the printer. The other solution relates to selecting the Adobe PDF printer before you finish your layout, but you have already said the printer works fine.

  • Text disappears on buttons in InDesign cs6

I'm doing an interactive pdf from InDesign CS6. I have buttons that I've created using just a solid rectangle and reversed white text in the rectangle and the buttons are on my master page. I want my buttons to change to a different colour when you click or mouse over them (only text to change to a different colour). When I go to 'click state' or 'rollover state' (I've tried both), the button is copied and I can change the colour but then in my normal state, I have an overset text, (I get a red plus sign) my text disappears. When I try and correct my normal state, the same thing happens in my click or rollover state. When I export a file to an interactive pdf, my normal state button is without text and my over or click state button has text with the colour that I've selected. Does anyone know why this happens or how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    NZ

We might be able to help you but you'll have to drop the attitude. We're not Adobe here, but users like you.
You'll need to tell us exactly what you're doing and what's not working for you. By "rollovers," you could mean the change of appearance of a button. You could also be meaning what are sometimes called Show/Hide buttons where clicking a button causes another button to appear. Which is it?
And what kind of output are you attempting? Interactive PDF? SWF (Flash)? DPS?

  • Text disappears after sent as attachment in Outlook

I am sending some PDF files through outlook and am experiencing a peculiar phenomenon with many of them. Two text boxes go AWOL on the recipient side when I send the PDFs through Outlook 2003 in two PDF documents. This is not a usual occurence my any means. The files were generated in Illustrator on another computer, and show up fine on mine before I send them. It says the fonts are embedded, so I don't believe that's the problem.
    Any ideas?
    Tyler

I'm "sending" them using the standard attach feature of Outlook. I attach the file and send it out and a portion of the text disappears. I discovered that if I try to select the text in acrobat pro and change the font, the text does still exist. However, with the font embedded and intact in other places of the document I can't understand why it would disappear there.
It isn't user specific. A number of people in our office are having problems with it. However, when I sent it through my gmail it worked fine.
I assumed it was an error in the file, as I don't think Outlook should be manipulating the file.

  • Flash CS6 Text Disappearing

I have been using Flash CS6 running on a Windows 7 work laptop since January. Not a single problem until last week.
Say I have a text box inside a banner symbol. The text says "WELCOME".  Normally you click the symbol to edit in place, click the text box and you get a blinking cursor where you can change the text to "HELLO".  You click the stage to back out of the text and the symbol and every thing is good. Now you have a banner that says HELLO.
Here is what I am getting as of last week:
I click the symbol to edit in place. When I get to the level where the text box is located, the text disappears. If I click around eventually it will select the text box containing "WELCOME" but the text box now appears down and to the right of where it actually is.  When I double click to edit the text box, the text is now visible and back in the right spot. Once I change it to HELLO and click out of the text box, the text disappears again. If I return to the main stage, the symbol still says "WELCOME" but once I render the new word "HELLO" shows in the SWF.
Ever seen that?  Our IT department has jacked with it and can't fix it. I am waiting for someone to come back and re-install Flash to see if that fixes the issue.  The only other thing I have noticed is that if I start a new project as AS3, add text directly to the stage, it causes the same problem. But if I start a new project as AS2, it's fine and with no text issues. I can't find anything online about this issue. Wondering if I have an AS3 setting wrong or a corrupt library file.

try resetting your preferences, FAQ: How do I reset Flash professional to default configurations and preferences?

  • Header text disappearing in PO

    Hi all,
I am entering a Header text in PO heading, when when I do enter on a PO field, the text disappears.
This is when using "1 Continuous text editor".
    When I select "2 Line editor", it re-appears ...
In customizing, it is defined with a copy rule from PO with "Fixed" Indicator for Texts = blank.
Have anyone an idea of what is happening ???
    Thank you

    45. Question:
I use transaction ME22N to change a purchase order. When I save the changes, all non-fixed texts disappear from the user interface.
    Answer:
When you post a purchase order, the system removes all non-fixed texts from the main memory. For performance reasons, these texts are not read again from the database. Only when you re-edit the document does the system select the texts again.

  • Text disappears when editing a layer in Dreamweaver 8

I have had a problem for a long time now with text
disappearing while I'm editing it in a layer. If I scroll up to the
top of the page and down again (sometimes a couple of times), the
text will reappear, but this is cumbersome (and rather annoying).
Does anyone else have this problem? Is it something I'm doing
incorrectly? Any help anyone can offer would be greatly
    appreciated.

Do you still have this problem when you
select that layer in the layers panel?

  • TEXT DISAPPEARS

I recently ugraded to appleworks 6 from 5 on a PC with Win XP Pro. I had a database created in 5 which was imported to 6. My problem is that when I create a new record and I type in text, when I move to the next field the text disappears. If I go into an existing record and try to edit it, it works fine. I type in text and it remains.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
I don't really have a definitive answer. A couple of possibilities that help "funky" problems with databases on a Mac may help. First, save the AppleWorks 6 database as AppleWorks 5 & reopen this in AppleWorks 6. I know that your problem database (& mine) started out as AW 5, but it's worth a try as it seems to strip out some minor corruption. Second, create a new blank database in AppleWorks 6 with the same fields in the same order then go to File > Insert & select the problem database. It may be something in the file structure of the problem database. On a Mac, this can also be done by dragging the icon of the old DB onto the window of the new one. I've never tried that in Windows, but it may work.
I had this problem appear periodically in a database when I briefly used AppleWorks 6 on Windows 2000 Pro. Once the database did that, it even carried over when I opened the same database in AppleWorks 6 on my Mac. Unfortunately, the various things I tried to fix it didn't always work the next time it happened. I remember someone mentioning a fix in a forum several years ago, but by the time it happened to me I couldn't remember or find the post.

  • I cannot tap and drag to select text in Word

All of sudden, I cannot tap and drag to select text I want to move or edit in Word. Not sure what I did to make it stop working. Please advise....

"aimbdd" - Thanks very much for your feedback.... That feature you have verified simply disappears with the "new" Multi-touch Trackpad which was first introduced with the early-2008 MacBook Pro, and, which was also carried over from the iPhone...
The alternative is that you employ the "Mouse Button" or, in this case, the "Track Pad Button" to restore the feature...
"Will K." - So, the late-2008 MacBook Pro DOES have a button, which you need to "click".
When you say "Hold" you mean that you need to hold down that "button" ...
Now, if I understand it correctly, the top surface of the button IS the track pad. That's rather odd!!!
What happens if you release the button? Or, do you HAVE to hold the button down some how while you take the cursor to the end of your selection? If so, what would you hold it down with if the top surface of the button is the touch sensitive track pad????
In my opinion, the track pad BUTTON is redundant when you select the various tapping options for the track pad from the preferences, which was also possible on the Powerbook G4 ....
So, with the new MacBook Pro, which way are we going, forward or backward?

  • Firefox UI is slow when typing or selecting text (after 33.0 update)

After the 33.0 update, I noticed that typing or backspacing in any field on a webpage or even in the Firefox address bar is slow to echo, about a 1 second lag. Also, selecting typed text (to delete it, etc.) by a quick click-drag doesn't select the whole area, yet when I click in the dialog to deselect, the portion that wasn't showing as selected at first, becomes selected for a moment before the whole string selection hilite disappears.
This makes the browser very cumbersome to use.
This appears to be new to 33.0. I tried resetting Firefox, but that didn't fix the problem. No issue in IE 11.0, so I don't think its malware. I also keep all s/w up-to-date, and run avast/zonealarm for security. I've never had a malware infection on this machine. Win7 Home Premium 64-bit, 8GB RAM. Resource utilization is low, so no out-of-control processes.
I did apply the latest Microsoft "Patch Tuesday" updates on 10/15, the same day that I updated Firefox. This may complicate the diagnosis. But again, IE wasn't affected, so how is the Firefox UI different for basic keyboard/display I/O?
If there's an easy way to "downgrade" to the prior 32.0.3 revision, I could try that to confirm. Please help!

Safe mode fixed it, so I then tested disabling all add-ons and plug-ins--no joy. I then disabled hardware acceleration, which fixed it. Re-enabled all add-ons and plug-ins, and still works, so it was the hardware acceleration.
For reference, my system is a Dell desktop with an ATI Radeon HD5670 graphics card, and Dell's latest official driver is the one that shipped with the system in 2010. ATI (AMD) has their latest generic driver for the HD5xxx series dated Sep 2014. Thanks, Dell :-( So, can't really do much about that--glad I'm not a gamer.
Anyway, this still begs the question of what changed in the last 3 days where Firefox went from working just fine with hardware acceleration enabled, to exhibiting this problem.

  • How do I get the bold, underline, italics editing option for Notes on iPhone 5 iOS 7.0.4? Option is not appearing when I select text.

When I select text, I don't get an arrow with additional options. What is shown in the image are the only options I get. Is there something I need to do in Settings or something in order to be able to bold, underline and italicize text?
    I

I only have an iPod (but it does have the latest software) but I achieved bold text as follows:
    1) touch and hold word to embolden;
    2) touch Select;
    3) touch the arrow head at the right;
    4) touch BIU option section of the option bar;
    5) touch the Bold section of the option bar.
Having selected the text, the selection can be narrowed or widened using the blue dot.  Also, the Bold, Italics and Underline option bar does not disappear once a section has been made, thus bold and underline can be chosen - touch elsewhere on the screen to remove the option bar.  When the selected option bar section background turns grey the software has accepted your request.  Note that a first go at achieving this might not work if the software has not correctly picked up your touch and may not present you with the correct options - it is intuitively trying to help you and sometimes misunderstands your touch.
