I was an ardent fan of Lenovo and this attachment made me buy a 10" New Yoga tab.This was followed by buying of a S 650 smart phone.
Now the story starts from Feb 1 2014
SIM detection was not happening in my newly purchase tab.Your service centre guys were NOT able to identify the problem at first.I was told its is a sim card problem.
Subsequently,I was told that SIM slot was damaged
I was told that the entire board had to be replaced and I placed an order with your Cochin service provider M/s Hitech
Informatics on 17th of March.
This was after waiting for a month to even get a quote---The Travails start here---One month to get a quote fir the spare
I had agreed to the price though I felt it is exorbitant.The part was B8000RoW 3G+16 Ge MMC MB module _CS CARDS MISC INTERNAL P/N 5B29A465NX Rs 13375.00
Thereafter,I had been continously following up day in and day out with M/s Hitech (Mr Abhijit),Your Regional manager Mr Bineesh and Mr Prasad (at Bangalore) but no avail.
I just cannot understand a simple fact---Does it take for a company like Lenovo a month to quote and then thereafter,not even able to update the status of spare
Is it a crime that I bought your tablet?
CAN SOMEBODY LET ME KNOW WHEN I WILL GET THIS SPARE
I have not got the spare nor communication on when I would get it?Attrocious to say the least!!!!!!!1!!!

Why no support for Nightblade Z97

Dear Sir or Madam,
I'm MSI Nightblade Z97 owner.
Why there is no utility and BIOS support for Nightblade Z97 ?
It has MSI Z97I Gaming AC mobo with Nightblade BIOS.
I can't install and use utilities like MSI Command Center, because software does not support the motherboard. Probably due to Nightblade BIOS.
The support tab on Nightblade Z97's page does not even contains any driver updates and only contains Dragon Fan utility, that is ridiculous.
I wish it had the same BIOS with the MSI Z97I Gaming AC mobo, so i could get the latest BIOS updates and utilities.

Not really expecting to get an answer to my question (Can I use the Gaming AC's BIOS for the Nightblade?) from the super users here so I e-mailed MSI support. Here's the response...

The BIOS on our Nightblade webpage particular made for the barebone. We have specific code on the BIOS.
I managed to install the latest BIOS (version 1.90) for the MSI Nightblade Z97 days ago without any problems. Still curious about the MSI Z97i Gaming BIOS so I tried installing it via a bootable flash drive. Unfortunately, the BIOS file cannot be installed as it's not even recognized. So you can only install a BIOS customized for the Nightblade even if the Nightblade motherboard itself is labeled as MSI Z97i Gaming motherboard.

I use Lightroom 2.x. I have done a lot of work entering descriptions, captions, titles and metadata like this in the library.
I want to make some ACROBAT PORTFOLIO documents. In portfolio you can add descriptions under the images, which is a nice feature. HOWEVER I would hope that you could use SELECTED metadata fields to bring this information from the image into portfolio. It is crazy to have to re-enter this information.
Is there a way, and why not if not, to see the enter comments fields in the portfolio creation/edit windows to USE the METADATA fields you entered in Lightroom?
I am curious why there is not more import and support for metadata between adobe products...in particular there should be numerous painless ways to bring lightroom collections into portfolio without having to do everything all over again.
Maybe there are scripts but I never use them. Anyone have any ideas on this? PORTFOILIO looks promising but is also rigid in ways, such as this problem.

I am also discovering this problem. I have over 3500 pdfs that I would like to organize for a digital management library for our clients. I have entered the metadata and keywords thru Adobe Bridge. This filtering works very well. But our client doesn't have adobe products. The PDF portfolio seemed like a great way to share our content. But, none of the metadata or keywords are brought along with the images. The description fields are empty in Portfolio. I would agree, it would be ridiculous to add this data twice. I would also agree, that maybe there is a script that could be written in the mean time to solve this problem. Does anyone have a suggestion of a better way the adobe products could be utilized to achieve the same working idea? I know other subscription websites also do pdf archives that are searchable, it is not a new idea. So, maybe it is just a web page developement, done by our webmaster thru Dreamweaver?

When will Aperture have support for RAF files from the new Fuji XPro-1?

How long does it normally take to get the RAW file format updated? Fuji say they sent the file details to Apple many weeks ago. This is a camera being given fantastic reviews in all professional magazines worldwide - but I'm stuck with an Aperture folder full of "unsupported image format" files.
Really annoying as I use the full suite of Nik plug-ins so I can't do anything with these files until Aperture is updated.

Per an interview with a spokeswoman from Fuji, they have indeed provided Apple (and Adobe as well) all the needed technical information in order to support the RAW files (i.e. algorithmic information created by Fuji for the non-standar filter array, etc etc). Please don't spread any more misinformation about it, it's already been flamed to death on all the online camera forums. You can still choose to 'blame' whomever you wish about why it's still not supported by Apple, but you can no longer reasonably assert that Fuji hasn't done their part by providing them what they need. Nondisclosure agreements were signed as well.
Having said that, I find it ridiculous at this point that it's not supported, for several reasons, some being the seemingly similar Fuji users who also use Aperture as well as the opportunity here for Apple to take some market from Adobe (who as of yet are not producing very great output files for Fuji X-trans). Apple was/has been at a disadvantage to Adobe for a long while now, and being an outsider, I presumed Apple would want to take advantage of this (and any similar) opportunity to grab some share from Adobe. I was well wrong, and it seems that other lesser-known-used companies are now doing just that.
Well good on them. I for one will be looking at any/all (new)comers and will certainly be going with the best of those. Sorry Apple, you lost another one. There was a real competition, for me, btwn Aperture and LR4 up till this point. You'd have to pull a rabbit out of your hat to keep my Aperture biz.

With Nokia mfg closing down, anymore support for e...

Am using an N8 and very interested to get the N9 later, but just before purchase, read news about the last mfg closing down. Will there be anymore support for Nokia phones, and how long will the support last? Or, should we start switching to other brands?

Note also that the support provided by Nokia for a particular phonemodel does not require that there is a factory still manufacturing that model. In other words, spare parts can be provided, as well as software updates and support, without factories churning out new units.
And while Nokia has closed a couple of factories, the company still has serveral that are operational all over the world, and for which no plans for closing has been announced.

Support for CPU extension SSE2 problem, please help

I recently got a PowerBook G4, and I'm trying to install the trial version of PPRO CS3 to give it a test run. And it gives me a message saying "Support for CPU extension SSE2" I read up on this and found out you need an INTEL MAC, which is ridiculous! for those of us with a G4, G5 system.
Does anyone know of any way to bypass this system requirement and still install/run PPROCS3 on a non-intel mac.

HT4623 I updated to iOS 6.1, now the mail application will not load. My settings for each email account are still in there, I have synched several times, and rebooted several times. Sill nothing. Why is there no support for upgrade issues ??

I refuse to pay for support for an issue caused by an upgrade. That is just ridiculous.

I'm having the exact same problem. When I select an email the mail application pauses for a couple seconds, the screen goes black and then I go to the home screen. Have you found anything more on this issue? Didn't have this problem before upgrading to 6.1.

Support for IPv6 DHCP or RDDNS

Hi,
I'm deploying IPv6 on our company and found out there is not possible way to automatically get DNS servers for IPv6 for mac computers, since it doesn't support dhcpv6 or the extensions for RA in stateless configuration mode.
Any word on when are this features going to be available?

It's really rather ridiculous DHCPv6 isn't implemented in OS X yet. I can (possibly) understand this for 10.4 and 10.5 but 10.6 is going to run into IPv6 deployment scenario's and should be able to handle all cases. I hope to God 10.7 has decent v6 support throughout OS X.
As far as I know, the dhcp-client used by OS X is the KAME project client, now known as WIDE-DHCP which does have support for DHCPv6 and has so for a long time. Why Apple is so reluctant to include this feature in both iOS and OS X is quite the mystery.

Lack of support for Canon G7 and G9. Alternatives?

I am really disappointed about the lack of support for the Canon G9, and looking at the list of compatible cameras (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306835) I notice that Canon G7 - even if it does not have a RAW format, is not supported either.
I am thinking that the purchase of the G9 may have been premature and that I may need to sell it and get another cam that is supported by Apple/Aperture.
What would you guys do? Is there a cam out there similar to the G9 at the moment that has a Apple-supported RAW format?

I think the camera closest to the G9 that has RAW support from Apple are the Panasonic DMC-LX2/Leica D-Lux 3 twins. Don't know where you are, but in the US, the Panasonic costs about $400. 10MP, 28-112mm (35mm equivalent) Leica lens, very compact body, and RAW output. The Leica costs $599, and has that classic look.
I don't know much about that cameras, but you may want to investigate.

Why no SyncML-support for Harmattan??

I've used SyncML on my N95 with memotoo.com for years. Worked very well. I took it for granted that SyncML would be supported on the N9. But alas, it isn't. I find that really incomprehensible. Worse yet, CalDAV syncing with memotoo doesn't work - I don't know who's to blame for this, but on the desktop it works flawelessly so I do have a suspicion. Even worse: there is no way to sync contacts using CardDAV.
MeeGo (the true MeeGo) has SyncML-support out-of-the-box. And the N9/N950 does have SyncML-support for bluetooth.
Yes, contacts syncing is supported for Ovi. And Google. And Facebook. But I do NOT want to use those services, because of grave privacy risks and because they use yet again some proprietary protocols.
I wonder, what where they thinking at Nokia for NOT supporting some well-known open standards??
(While I'm ranting: why is there ^%@$ Facebook and GTalk-support over XMPP, but no self-defined XMPP account?? Yes, you can add such accounts from the terminal, using mc-tool, but really that's just a kick in the teeth. And where's UPnP/DLNA-support?)

Hey Guys, Did you figure out any way to do PIM sync via SyncML on N9?
I am struggling to get things moving as I come from N8.
N9 just doesnt have any way to sync calendar, tasks with Ovi. Same with Notes.

ISE 1.2.1 support for Yosemite?

Hello all, just curious. I see in the release notes for ISE 1.2.X that support for Mac OS 10.10 (Yosemite) was available via patch 12 on the ISE1.2.0 train of code. That said, I see nothing in the release notes stating any support for Yosemite for any of the patches for ISE1.2.1, the latest being patch 3 released 1 week after ISE 1.2.0 patch 12. Can anyone please advise if Yosemite is in fact supported on 1.2.1 with patch 3??

OS X 10.10 is supported in ISE 1.2 p11, 1.2.1 p2 and 1.3.
Patch 12 for 1.2 and Patch 3 for 1.2.1 fix other issues for OS X 10.10, and I recommend updating to the latest patches for these fixes.
Here is the entry in the Release Notes detailing the fix for 10.10 in 1.2 p 12:
MacOsXAgent versrion 4.9.5.3 should be used and MacOsXSPWizard 1.0.0.30
Note that the description for these files denote ISE 1.2 Patch 11/12, ISE 1.3 release and above. ISE 1.2.1 is not mentioned, but follows the bug fix/release schedule for 1.2, with an adjustment.
1.2 patch 10 = 1.2.1 patch 1

Apple Support for FCE HD - $200 per call???

i had what was probably a minor issue with editing in final cut express hd today. So naturally, i called applecare. They told me that it had been past the 90 days given to us for support from the point of purchase. Fine. However, the apple support representative went on to tell me that Applecare does NOT support pro applications and that i have to pay $199 per incident? I paid $299 for the product itself! Last i checked, i-pods were selling pretty well and i don't think steve jobs needs that money! Is apple serious? Where do they get off charging $200 for a ONE TIME PHONE CALL? Just because FCE HD is a "pro" application, apple can't assume that everyone who purchases this product is a "pro" from the start!
Where else am i supposed to get phone technical support for FCE HD??
