Right audio channel

I've had my Lumia 822 for a month, just paid first phone bill, and today my right audio channel has quit. It's not in headphones or on phone music speakers. Would this be a software or hardware issue? I was sold on this phone til today. If possible, is this something I can fix myself.

hi mate,
have you checked that there is no dust in your headphone jack or that the headphone jack assembly has not received any physical damage? also check that you are up to date with all the latest Nokia system app updates from the Store, and that you have the latest firmware installed on your device. failing that, try performing a soft reset (pressing the volume down and power buttons together until the phone vibrates).

  • My ipod's music quality is inferior. It doesnt have the surround sound/ left and right audio channel unlike my brothers ipod? is there a problem with the chip?

I have an ipod touch 4g (8GB), I got this about 2.5 months ago, the same time my brother get his. My problem is that I noticed that audio quality is better on his device than mine. I have been listening to music and had different music devices before (non-Apple product and mobile phone) and the quality of music is better when I used to listen to those devices as well as my brother's ipod touch. Im referring to the left and right audio channels. Im not so good about the technical stuff but the best explanation I can give you is in a music or a movie, there's an effect wherein you can here a sound only at the left ear phone/speaker that you cant hear at the right earphone/speaker. I mean for example in a song, a guitar intro can be heared only at the left
ear while the background music plays on the other ear. Or when theres and echo effect on the song that alternates sound on the left and right ear. I hope youre getting what Im trying to say. Im bothered that my ipod is fake or has an internal problem on the chips or something because I didnt bought this at an Apple Center/Mac Center. I bought it on a retailer. I am not able to visit any store or Genius Bar  or contact an apple specialist through phone because of my work schedule and work load.  I have contacted the retailer before when I tried to return it for replacement or repair but he told me that it is under Apple's warranty, not theirs. I do hope that I can get a help from you because I want to really enjoy my device. Thank you and Im looking forward for the responce/assistance form you.

I suggest you don't apply pressure to the screen - it's a Touch - you touch the screen not push it.

  • How can I separate Left and right audio channels in labview 8.5 tia sal22

How can I separate Left and right audio channels in labview
    8.5 tia sal22
    Greetings All
I have a working Labview vi that converts a math formula to an
audio signal.  I would like to have the
right and left audio channels playing different math audio signals is this
    possible?
    Example
Right channel -> plays the audio signal created by a math
    formula
Left channel -> plays the audio signal created by another
math formula with adjustable phase control
I’ve included a VI with a working audio and math formula but
I’m not sure how to separate the left and right channels.
    I’m using labview 8.5
I looked up a similar question on the
support board and it said” use an instance of the the Sound Output Write that
has a 1D waveform data type input (i.e.  Sound Output Write (DBL)). Each
element in the array would correspond to a channel.”
But I’m not exactly sure what he meant.  I’m using a formula to generate the wave file

Sorry it took so long to get back.  Here's the new VI with it splitting out the left and right channels.
I'm using a Gigaport HD 8 output usb audio device but I'm experience clicks and pops.  I increase the buffers
but I still get the clicks and pops.  I know gigaport HD can use ASIO drivers which most likely would solve the problem but one needs to code in C for this which I'm not proficient in.  Can someone recommend a work around to prevent this clicks and pops, can I somehow change my VI to fix this? Does anyone have a VI that will allow access to the ASIO latency properties?
    I'm using labview 8.5
And a gigaport HD which is a USB audio device which outputs 8 analog signals (it is ASIO compatible)

  • How to Set Left/right audio channel while Video playback

how can I controlling the left / right audio channel while video playback, I can't find any method or class for this in JMF, anyone that can direct me how to do it?

The way I found to control two stereo channel is to implement a plug-in Effect that will control two volumes (left/right) indipandently.
You can start from the example GainEffect from sun, and implement your control.
For eample, if you want to mute the left channel, simply set to 0 all the odd samples (or even...I don't remember exactly, try it).
You have then to add you plug in to the processor chain... again see the examples.
More complex effects (panning etc) can be done in the same way, but it seems to me that it's quite CPU intensive.

  • The right audio channel is no longer heard after effect assignment in the timeline

Sorry, but my English is not so good, but I try to explain the problem:
Once I clip any one assigns an effect in the timeline, works when playing only the left audio channel channel. Once I pull the clip from the timeline into the project window again, then works again the left and the right channel. How do I get the right audio channel in the interface window active again?

When I look at the properties of the file in QuickTime, here's what it shows:
    DV/DVCPRO - NTSC, 720 x 480 (640 x 480)
Linear PCM, 16 bit little-endian signed integer, 32000 Hz, Left
Linear PCM, 16 bit little-endian signed integer, 32000 Hz, Unused
Linear PCM, 16 bit little-endian signed integer, 32000 Hz, Unused
Linear PCM, 16 bit little-endian signed integer, 32000 Hz, Unused
Why it's telling me the other 3 channels are unused, I have no idea. They certainly are getting used. The footage was shot in stereo and Final Cut plays it in stereo.

  • Left & Right audio channels not linked...

I upgraded my system and had to re-install FCE from scratch and (of course) I lost all my system preferences and filters & such. My one annoyance now is that my audio channels (L & R) are now independant of one another -- if I lower one, the other remains unchanged and then I have to go lower it as well. Is there any way to re-link the two audio channels together? It was like that on my old system.
    Thanks.

That much I figured out -- is there any way to make that a permanent setting when I capture? That's the part that's escaping me. Thanks for your help, BTW.

  • How to separate left and right audio channels?

I've imported some AVCHD footage that had audio recorded separately to each channel, left and right.  When I put a clip in my timeline, I can separate the audio tracks, but I can't edit them individually.  When I bring down the level to 0db on one track and play the clip, the audio meter still shows equal levels on both left and right channels.  Any advice?
Second question - I transcoded some AVCHD footage to MP4 and can't figure out if the audio tracks remain separte after the transcoding.  I used Free MTS M2TS Converter to do the transcoding.  While I can choose 'dual mono" for an AVCHD clip, I do not have that same option for the MP4 clip.  It offers me "6 mono" but not dual mono. Any advice?
My concern is that when I provide my clients with raw MP4 footage with right and left audio recorded separately, that they'll be able to edit each track individually.
    Thanks!

Thanks Tom.  I recorded 2-channel audio, not 5.1 surround.  Six mono was only an option on the MP4 clip.  I did change the channel configuration from stereo to dual mono on the AVCHD clip, but I still wasn't able to edit the audio independently.  Even when I mute one track, the audio meter still shows equal left and right levels.

  • Left and Right audio channel

I have a video clip that has two different sound track on each channel, one on right channel and one on left channel.  So when I play normal both sound track come up on the same time.  In Window platform, I can change the speaker output into either left/right to isolate one channel, but how can I do this in Mac OS?  I tried the one in system preference, it didn't work, when I switch it to right channel, it just played both sound track from the right speaker, but not isolating the right sound track.  Please help.

In your Applications/utilities folder is a program called AudioMIDI setup.
Just move the slider of the channel you want to mute.

  • Odd clicking in right audio channel

Several months ago my mini started making this very annoying clicking but only in the right channel. I re installed os x and it went away for a short while but soon came back. Any idea what may be causing this? Its pretty annoying and I'm pretty sure that it is not a hardware issue.

  • Left and right audio channels in clips not balanced.

One is louder than the other. How do I make them the same or is it a problem with how it came in? They are in stereo mode but the waveform shows one lower than the other.

Select the clip in the timeline and open the audio tab in the inspector. Under the audio configuration label click the drop down arrow at the right and change stereo to dual mono. Go back to the timeline and right click the clip and select expand audio components. You can them change the volume of the two audios independently. After adjustment right click the clip again and choose collapse audio components.

  • Stereo Audio channel turns to mono when I close and re-open the project

    Hi there,
when I import a random video file with stereo audio channels and put it to the timeline (after peaking), everything works allright - the recording level window shows me the left and the right audio channel.
But when I save and close the project in order to re-open it directly, I only got a mono audio channel (left) and the stereo is away in my timeline and recording level window. The preview of the imported video ist still ok with stereo sound.
Is this a bug ? What can do? Please help me.
    Thanks a lot

  • Premiere 7 - stereo sound exports without one audio channel

    Hi there.
I have a strange problem with Adobe Premiere 7.0.
Every time I export a wideo it looses one audio channel - the right one. I have no idea why.
I have a stereo audio file in my Timeline and it plays in stereo during editing.
I choose stereo sound for export, try different codecs and formats but nothing helps. After rendering the movie lacks the right audio channel.
I've double-checked the source audio file in GoldWave - it does have the sound in both channels.
Then I've double-checked the audio from the rendered movie - no right channel.
What might be the source of this problem?
    Thank you for you help.
    Best regards,
    Szymon.

Thank you for your answer A.T.
The screens were from the GoldWave program (similar to Audacity). I've checked the original and rendered versions in Adobre Premiere. The rendered one does not have audio channel.
Source audio: wav, 24 bit PCM, 2 channels, 44100 Hz (but it happens with every audio I've tried).
    Project Settings:
    HDTV 720p, 25 fps
    audio 48000 Hz
    Export settings:
MPEG2 PAL 720p 25 fps MainConcept MPEG Video codec

  • Enabling AirPlay to multiple speakers causes audio channels on local computer to playback incorrectly

iTunes has an audio bug that has been a problem for the last couple releases and it's been driving me crazy lately.  The problem is streaming audio to any AirPlay devices from iTunes causes iTunes to for lack of a technical term "munge" the audio placing back out of the local audio output.  It seems like stereo audio stops playing out of the local audio output and instead either the left or right audio channel plays back out of both speakers.  The stereo channel audio playing out of the AirPlay device appears to be unaffected.
    This can be reproduced by:
    1. launch iTunes when AirPlay output device is available (AirPort Express, AppleTV)
    2. open the Multiple Speakers panel
    3. make sure both "Computer" and one other AirPlay output device are checked
    4. playback an audio track you are familiar with that has clear stereo separated audio (something with a vocal track with one singer mostly on the left channel and another mostly on the right channel is a good option)
    5. the playback will sound odd, like parts of the recording aren't present - vocals quiet or missing; guitar riff quiet or missing
    6. uncheck all AirPlay output devices so that only "Computer" is selected
    7. listen to the audio track again, it will sound normal
-- if you identify where the audio has missing elements you can click the AirPlay output device on and off in the Multiple Speakers panel and hear the elements magically appear / disappear
A great track to test with the The Beatles / Revolver / Taxman.  From 1:12 - 1:25 there is a guitar solo.  With the AirPlay device on this solo is completely missing and the track just has bass, drums, and rhythm guitar.
I'm not certain this has to do with stereo audio channel issues on the local playback, but obviously as soon as the AirPlay streaming code kicks it, something with the audio channels on iTunes is getting hosed.  It's only been an issue for the last 6-9 months for me and audio streaming worked great for years before that.
Can others reproduce this problem?  If so, Apple really needs to escalate this for a fix because using AirPlay pretty much ruins the quality of audio output currently which makes me never want to use it.

don't know if you are still looking at this thread, i hope so.
I have a similar problem, and I wondered if you might help. I have a macbook (2008) running the latest version of itunes (just updated) and Airplay tho with a pretty old router. (I got a relatively new one for the network just a few months ago but the one hooked up to my amplifier is an old airport-- the square ones-- I have had for years -- it's linked to the amp via the 3.5mm output jack)
I seem to run into this on the "Rubber Soul" album, and I checked it agsint the copies from iTunes and even ripping another edition of the CD. The vocal tracks seem to disappear, like the guys are singing at the bottom of a well. "Run For Your Life" for example, the verses Lennon sings are almost inaudible. On Norwegian Wood it sounds like they are in an echo chamber a mile away.
So, on all my other music it seems fine, but I wasn't sure if Steve Jobs hated "Rubber Soul" or what.
I haven't duplicated this on other music -- tho just now I noticed some weird effects on the opening track of Sgt. Pepper. Only half the vocals are on, the lyrics by Lennon are again near-absent) I might try to see what happens when I play the mono version of my Jefferson Airplane CD.
Is there a software fix? Should I be linking my airport in some other fashion to the amp? (The amp is pretty old, I got it in what, 1998?) Should I be using the USB link somehow to the audio out? Is thi an effect of weird stereo mixes of the 1960s?
BTW I am not trying to tream to multiple devices or anythign, just to the one.

  • Unlinking audio channels

For some reason I can't unlink my left and right audio channels I have never had this problem before. I imported the clips through the log and transfer off of ST HC cards from my Sony NX CAM. any idea how to separate these two channels so I can adjust the left and right volumes separately?
    Thank you

Perhaps they're a stereo pair; to toggle between stereo and tao mono clips,, hit Option l (lowercase L). To toggle between linked and unlinked, hit Command l.
