Right click and select "Get Info" is SOO SLOW

Whenever I try to edit any of my songs or videos by right clicking and selecting "Get Info" it takes eons before the popup window appears. I am accessing my library on a secondary internal WD Caviar SE16 SATA 500gb drive. My 7yr old PC was somewhat slow, but this is ridiculous.

Are you running the latest version of iTunes? Is this a recent thing that's happened?

Essentially, the bare issue is that you have a 500GB hard drive with only 10GB free. That is not sufficient to run the system properly. The two options you have are to move/remove files to another location, or to install a larger hard drive (eg 2TB). Drive space has nothing to do with SMC firmware, and usually large media files are to blame.
My first recommendation is this: download and run the free OmniDiskSweeper. This will identify the exact size of all your folders - you can drill down into the subfolders and figure out where your largest culprits are. For example, you might find that your Pictures folder contains both an iPhoto Library and copies that you've brought in from a camera but are outside the iPhoto Library structure. Or perhaps you have a lot of purchased video content in iTunes.
If you find files that you KNOW you do not need, you can delete them. Don't delete them just because you have a backup, since if the backup fails, you will lose all your copies.
Don't worry about "cleaners" for now - they don't save much space and can actually cause problems. Deal with the large file situation first and see how you get on.
Let us know what you find out, and if you manage to get your space back.

When downloading a file, if I right-click and select new the submenu is not displayed

I have Firefox 12 installed; running XP SP3. Options/General/Always ask me where to save files is selected. If I download a file and select save file, I will get a save file to dialog. If I right-click in the dialog and select new, there is no submenu displayed. As a consequence, I cannot create a new folder in which to save the selected file. New will simply try to create a shortcut.

That Save As dialog that you see is part of Windows Explorer, including the contextual menu including "New". So, this sounds more like you may have a problem at a more fundamental operating system level, because Firefox (as far as I know) doesn't do anything, or even can, modify the content of the context menus of an Explorer window.
Could you provide a screenshot of what you see to make sure we're talking about the same thing here? Thanks!

When right clicking and selecting, open in new tab and then repeating on a new link, the first link opens again??.. Only happens with OS X

On a page with multiple links I like to right click a few links and get them to open in a new tab. However, about 50% of the time the first link opens twice. It only seems to happen with OS X but have not noticed any similar behaviour with other applications.

The bookmarks button is missing from the navigation tool bar. When I right click and select customize it appears and when I click done on the customization box button, it disappears.

Actually the Bookmarks Menu button doesn't appear because you have the Menu Bar visible in your first screenshot. The Bookmarks Menu button should appear to the right of the overflow chevron on the Bookmarks Toolbar if the Menu Bar is hidden.

FF 34 "Bookmark - right click and select the Star to bookmark" is extremely frustrating. No way to get to the folder, the scroll does not work.

When the bookmark window appears and I select "Choose" the window opens showing a few folders, but there is no way to scroll down to the folder I want to put it in. I just upgraded to 6.0 and links that want to open in a new window do not work. Right click and selecting open in new window does work.

Similarly clicking a link in email does not open a window. I can drag the link to Firefox and a new tab opens.
Also clicking Tools -> Add-ons does not open a tab as it used to.

mha007, Thank you. I walked through your suggested solutions and finally disabled all add-ons and restarted them one by one. The culprit seems to be ViewSourceWith 0.8.11. Interestingly when it is enabled I had to go to TaskManager to force Firefox to quit.
Maybe this information will help others. I don't know if the cache clearing etc helped but I would suggest that others start but Bringing up Firefox in Safe Mode (hold shift when you select the icon), disable all add-ons and then start them one by one.
Of course if you have ViewSourceWith maybe you should just disable it first rather than go through the tedium of restarting each add-on separately. To get to the add-ons when it won't open from the toolbar type about:addons in the address area.

I usually have many tabs open when I read the news, and it is nice to select open links in new tabs while scrolling through a news' home page. Lately, however, Mozilla has been opening the new tab, but switches the page I am viewing to the first tab to the right of the home page. For example, I had ESPN.com open, and then a few Facebook tabs after that to the right. Whenever I would select open link in new tab, the tab I was viewing would switch from ESPN.com to the first Facebook tab to the right, and the new tab would open a little further down the line. Any chance anyone knows how to fix this?

How do I manage the menu that comes up when I right-click and select "Edit In" ?

Right now I have 17 programs/apps/plugins that appear in that menu. I am going to have reinstall an earlier version of a program that I use a lot (OnOne) and that's going to add another half a dozen items to the list. I only need one or two of the apps in that suite. And then I may add another suite, the Topaz apps, and that will further add to the confusion.
All of these 3rd party applications are connected to Lightroom via Plugins, but a lot of them do not appear in the listings in the plugin manager.
Is there any way to manage that menu from within Lightroom?
