Right-click doesn't work on select boxes, checkboxes & radio buttons. On other elements, there's no"Inspect Element" option

After installing FF 6.0, right-click doesn't work on select boxes, checkboxes & radio buttons, i.e. nothing happens on right-clicking.
The context-menu is available on other elements, but there's no"Inspect Element" option in the context-menu

Regarding the two-button click: just go to the "Sytem Preferences --> Mouse" pop-op and under "One Finger", check the "Secondary Click" box.  Problem solved.  I don't know how I missed this the first 3 times I went to there.    Oh well.
And as for why I had to change the Trackpad settings to get the Magic Mouse zoom feature to work (see original question): I'm still stumped.   Your guess is as good as mine.
Hope this helps!

I just figured out the print quality issue for my wife with her new iMac and new printer.
She replaced both at once and she couldn't understand why her Artisan 730 was lower quality then her Epson R280 when they had the same specs.
Turns out the newer printer had the option to connect via wifi which we used during setup.
The driver options are completely different depending on how you connect.
Once I connected via USB the correct options were available and the print quality was better.
Looking at the R2400 it dies not have wifi, but while researching the problem for my wife someone esle was having an issue updating to the latest printer driver.
If you go into the print utility from the Printer and Scanner system preference and under the general tab you should have driver 5.5.
One user had to delete the old printer driver before Software Update loaded the newer printer driver.

On my MacBook Pro (w Snow Leopard) I always had to reconnect my wifi at home when it woke up. I upgraded my router from an old Netgear to a newer N D-Link and stopped having to do that.
I would be surprised you would have that problem with an Airport Extreme, you might check to see if there is a firmware update for it.

  • File, edit, etc options no longer at the top of the screen since upgrade. My right-click doesn't work so I need the File, Edit options. How can I bring them back?

I only have Firefox tabs now and have not memorized all the Command keys to use when right clicking doesn't work. How can I access "File", "edit", etc....they used to be at the top of the screen before upgrade. I need to be able to copy/paste easily. Thank you.

The menu toolbar is hidden at default in Vista. You can use F11 to show it temporarily. Please also read this article:

  • Control-click / right-click doesn't work in finder!

Hi.. I just installed OSX Tiger. I also have an Apple mighty mouse. When i right click (or control-click) on the desktop, or within finder, it simply restarts finder and refreshes the desktop, instead of bringing up a menu as normal. This is annoying as it happens when I right click on icons too. The mouse is working, as the right click works within programs. I have checked the 'contextual menu items' folders and, as far as I can see, there are no offending objects. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

hi, sorry, not posting a solution, just adding to the query... the same thing is happening to me with an old MS intellimouse mouse. seems to be random, as far as i can tell, i am right-clicking on various files, almost always to then move them to the trash.
there, i just tried it again, the first time, i right-click, the contextual menu comes up, i click away, then right-click the same file again and this time the desktop goes empty, all files gone, a second later they're back...
    weird...

  • Right Click doesn't work with Magic Trackpad

The Magic trackpad is great. Finally I have something like the old trackballs I had to abandon to be able to scroll etc.
However I can't get the right click to work even though I have the secondary click checked in the trackpad preferences.
Any ideas how to get it to work?
Also, a real bummer is I had selected tap to click and went on a trip. My old MBP (pre unibody) with a trackpad and a button below it, doesn't have a "tap to click" option in the preference pane once the Magic Trackpad is no longer connected, so I couldn't disable it until I got home. Bad!

    Bump!
I have basically the same problem with my magic trackpad. I bought it to get the new features, but with no secondary click it's pretty much useless.
I have the options set for secondary tap. Which I assume is just like the regular trackpad. Two fingers and click - Context menu. But I just get a regular primary click. I hate to think that i wasted $70. Can anyone help with this? Please.
Just a side note: My tap-to-click and secondary bottom right click also don't work. Do I have a malfunctioning trackpad?

  • Magic mouse - right click doesn't work in certain user accounts

    Hi,
I have configured my magic mouse to enable right click in my account without issue, however, in my wife and daughter's accounts, i am unable to set it up. When i click to enable right click in mice settings, I am able to tick the box to enable right click, but as soon as I close the settings application, and then reopen, the option to enable right click is no longer selected.
    All accounts have admin privileges.
Any suggestions appreciated as right clicking is helpful.

    Hi shorinsean,

  • Mouse right-click doesn't work while clicking on files in folders

    Hi there,
I have an iMac 8,1 with 10.6.8 OS.
Mouse is a Logitech M-BZ105A connected via USB.
About a week ago, I've noticed weird problem with my mouse: nothing happens when I right-click on files in folders. Nothing shows up.
    - left-click works (it's set as the main one)
    - right-click works when clicking NOT on a file
    - right-click works when clicking files ON a Desktop
I tried changing right-click to the main one, but then the left-click wouldn't work.
Very annoying as I can't use many handy functions like Compress, Get info, Trash (of course I can still drag it to remove it, but RCM would be better).
    Restarting iMac didn't help.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Good work so far, doesn't sound like the mouse, but maybe a 3rd party app.
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
    Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

  • Right click doesn't work in Address Book

Not sure what's caused it, but I noticed recently that right-clicking from the trackpad on my MacBook Pro in Address Book doesn't.  If I do want to see right-click options, I have to hold down the control key.  The trackpad right-click works fine in all other applications.  Any thoughts?

Try regular "left" clicking on the labels to the left of the entries.  Does this work?
Now try right-clicking on the actual entry data (email address, phone number, street address) and see what happens.
Seems a bit inconsistent, but I noticed it right after upgrading to Snow Leopard.

  • Right click doesn't work

When I try to right click and drag a file or a folder to copy it or make a shortcut in Windows (Windows 7), it doesn't work. I only get a purple line following the mouse-arrow "drawn" on the screen(!) , which disappears when I let go of the button.
Right clicking on a file or a folder to get options works fine. It's only right clicking and dragging that doesn't work. Not with the touchpad or with a mouse. I have tried adjusting the options for the mouse in control panel, but nothing seems to help.
Does anybody know how I can fix this?
    Thanks

Try performing SFC scan. The following link will help: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

  • Clicking doesn't work to select Tools in Muse. Is there a fix?

I am unable to click on the different tools in the toolbar in Adobe Muse CC (2014.5.0.569) in Windows 7. The toolbar does not recognize mouse clicks and even register a hovering cursor (i.e. I can't click and select the Text Tool or Hand Tool). Likewise on any pop up dialogue windows (i.e. "Would you like to save this file? Yes No Cancel")

We have the same problem here and changing to 125% text setting solves the problem (thanks for this lead KBrown0610) but this doesn't resolve the issue for us. We use CC to edit 4K and have a monitor setup with a native resolution of 3840x2160... I don't want to be changing resolutions between apps and workflows and if working at 125%, you need a magnifying glass to get anywhere other than frustrated. The mouse click issue is apparent at the 150% option and the custom 200% setting that is most user friendly so I hope Adobe will bring out a fix for this ASAP. Don't appear to be getting a similar problem with the other CC apps...

  • Since about two weeks the right click doesn't work in firefox, how do i resolve this?

I always used the Nightly version of Firefox, so I figured it was a bug in the new update. But by now I completely removed Nightly, and installed the normal Firefox, but still nothing happens after rightclicking in the screen > in, e.g. the bookmark toolbar it does work properly, but not anywhere while browsing!

  • How come right click can't work in IE 7.0 AND IE 8.0

I published CP project with right click to a folder, then I uploaded it to the web server, in IE 6.0, it works OK, right click does function correctly. However, when I tested it in IE 7 AND IE 8, right click doesn't work at all. I also tried right click in FireFox browser, it works quite OK. How come that right click funtionality can't work well in IE 7 AND IE 8? Could it have anything to do with the security setting in IE 7 and IE 8? If so, how should I change the security setting?
PS: for both IE and firefox, I installed flash player 10.

    I assume you're using C4?
The folder containing your published files has to be a "trusted" Flash site.  It's an absolute pain!  Here's where you set this up:  http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.htm l
    Hope this helps.
P.S.  By default, the My Adobe Captivate Projectgs folder, buried in your My Documents sub-sub-sub folders is a trusted site.

  • My right click is not working. the context menu does not come up and i can no longer drag files/folders. I have checked the mouse and track pad in system preferences and the correct boxes are all checked (with a support member). Please can you help

My right click is not working and producing the context menu or ability to drag files and folders. I just spoke with a phone support person and we checked that all the mouse/trackpad options for right click were correct and checked.
Please can you help with this.
It has only just happened in the last few days.
    Many thanks

You might want to update your profile so that we can see what model iMac you have and what version of OSX you're running.
For this question, it might help to know if you're dealing with a trackpad, Magic Mouse, or something else?
(Until your issue's resolved, you can Control-Left Click to get the right click functionality).

  • Touchgraph link browser right click won't work; jre 1.4.2_03 linux

touchgraph link browser right click won't work; jre 1.4.2
Wanted to mention that the touchgraph link browser(java client) client starts correctly in Redhat 9, but i found one problem when trying to edit links. The problem being that I can't open the small popup menu when i right click in linux RedHat 9. left clicking while dragging on a selected link (in edit mode) lets you create a new link both in microsoft windows 95a and in Redhat 9. When i right click in win95a, a small menu appears that allows me to edit a link, but this menu doesn't appear after right clicking a link in edit mode in redhat 9 (which does work with TG link browser in win95).
I tried using a 2 button mouse with 3 button emulation. I also tried to use a 3 button logitech trackball which works with the old logitech c7 setting in Redhat. I also tried to operate the mouse with it's three buttons using the number keypad in linux, which works in other applications under linux. The same problem still happens in trying all of these methods.
I was told that unix and windows use different "select," "extend," and "menu" buttons(in relation to the mouse).
Maybe, microsoft windows is using a different method of interpreting the right mouse button than redhat linux 9. if so, maybe there is a way to do this in linux (really, i have no idea how this could be done, but am open to try).
If there is a solution, i would appreciate knowing how to go about doing it. .
note: I am using Sun's java 1.4.2_04 in windows 95a and I am using Sun's java 1.4.2_03 in Redhat 9. Both are the most current, i just downloaded them recently.
note: touchgraph link browser is an open source java client and applet under the GNU general Public License. I think that the source code was included with the binary. I am using touchgraph link browser v 1.20 . I downloaded from sourceforge.net
in google i found the following:
    https://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/lists/advanced-java/1999-September/000532.html
note: mara, you helped me before when i was practically installing redhat 9 and i had a problem with the installation and you mentioned that it was a faulty cd-rom drive. with your help, i am enjoying in learning about linux for the past 5 months since your answer helped me install redhat 9 successfully. Thank you very much since my very first question to you.
    Answer Hello,
I downloaded the program and, if I think of the right situation, the right-click doesn't bring a menu for me. The thing I noticed is that when I drag a new link and (with left mouse button pressed) press right button it has an effect of 'canceling' the link. That's why I think that right mouse button works correctly. The problem is why the menu does not appear.
I can see two reasons, both causing problems not easy to solve: bug in the program or incompatibility between Windows and Linux java versions. The second one should not happen.. but it doesn't mean it's impossible. A bug in the program should be easier to find, but not by me (with not very big Java experience it'd take me several days).
What I'd do in your place is to mail the program developers (or report a bug). It won't make things worse, but can fix things.
Sorry that I can't help more
