Right click on the new BT Mighty Mosue

In addition to the closed (why that please??) thread upon the BT MM: after one day of heavy use, my new MM with initial same problems as described there now works by far better not to say perfect. Seems that this mouse must be driven some miles like a new car. So I suggest for all users with this problem - dont send the mice back to Apple too soon, try the for some days before and use them extensively.

Well after some days of extensive use, I have to say the mouse behaviour still was so unpredictable I decided too send it back finally. Looking forward to get a new want and hope, this one may work reliable...

I can't right click with the new lion update. how can I fix it?

Before the Lion update I was able to right click and now I cant. It doesnt even give me the visual example when you get into the track pad set up page. just the 1 finger and the 3 finger opts. AND everytime i got to set up the two finger tap for right click, once i get out o that pane it doesnt work and whe i go back to the set up pane it is unclicked. Help!

Create a new user and log in as that user, and see if Safari works over there. If it does, then it's probably something in your local login environment related to Safari. If the other user also has trouble with Safari, then there's a more general problem with Safari.
Also check the console (Applications > Utilities > Console.app) when Safari tips over, and see if there's anything relevant logged there.

Left clicking or right clicking on the new tab button does not open a new tab. Common fixes have been unsuccessful. I don't know what's wrong. It's a recent problem, and even though I'm using an older version of Firefox this hasn't been a problem before.

Try uninstalling the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and the current version of Firefox.

I ended up reformating the drive as FAT32 because I still need to use it on my Windows 98SE system also. I did have a problem with the allocation size. I wanted to use 512 bytes but it kept failing so I used the default size(8192 bytes) and then it worked fine. I didn't think there would be a problem formatting as NTFS but since you are having problems I just tried it. It failed at 512 bytes allocation size so I tried again using 4096 bytes, the default, as the allocation size and it failed again. It looks like these drives will not format as NTFS.
Also, I think I figured out what's going on with the ReadyBoost problem. As I said initially it wouldn't work with ReadyBoost then after I had 12GB of data on the drive the ReadyBoost feature started working. After I deleted all the files it quit working again. After doing some reading on the net about Flash drives and ReadyBoost problems it appears that the memory chips on my Lenovo Flash drive are mixed with both fast memory chips that work fine with ReadyBoost and slower memory chips that are too slow for ReadyBoost. Apparently, after I fill up the portion of memory with data that uses the slow chip(s) then ReadyBoost works fine with the fast chip(s). I also verified the Flash drives read and write memory speeds using Vista's Event Viewer. To work with ReadyBoost the Flash drive has to read at a minimum of 2.5MB/s (for 4KB random reads) and write at a minimum of 1.75MB/s (for 512KB random writes).
Let me know what you find out.

When downloading a file, if I right-click and select new the submenu is not displayed

I have Firefox 12 installed; running XP SP3. Options/General/Always ask me where to save files is selected. If I download a file and select save file, I will get a save file to dialog. If I right-click in the dialog and select new, there is no submenu displayed. As a consequence, I cannot create a new folder in which to save the selected file. New will simply try to create a shortcut.

That Save As dialog that you see is part of Windows Explorer, including the contextual menu including "New". So, this sounds more like you may have a problem at a more fundamental operating system level, because Firefox (as far as I know) doesn't do anything, or even can, modify the content of the context menus of an Explorer window.
Could you provide a screenshot of what you see to make sure we're talking about the same thing here? Thanks!

I tried resetting Firefox and deleting the preference file, no change.
By the way, I hate that the tabs are on top and not where they belong above the pages they are for. There should still be a way in Firefox to put them back without having to use an add-in.

Why does the "Move to new window" function that I used to use not work when I right click on the tab anymore?

It used to be when I right clicked on the tab in Firefox that I could use the "Move to new window" option. Now when I go down to that option it looks as though it is going to work, but nothing happens. The other day I changed a few options in Firefox, but I don't remember changing anything that sounded as though it would have this effect and now I can't find any options that seem to fix it. Do I now have to sort massive tables by each column one at a time now? Also there used to be an easier way to merge/unmerge cells without me having to go to the table menu each time. Am I missing something?

Multiple column sort is a missing feature in the new version. Hopefully soon to return. You can do a multicolumn sort by sorting one at a time in reverse order of importance.
For merging and unmerging cells, I select the cells and right click to bring up the contextual menu. Merge and unmerge are on the menu. You could also create keyboard shortcuts for Merge Cells and Unmerge Cells in the Table menu.

There's an article that Apple has acknowledged this issue. They recommend turning off imessages, reset all settings and then reactivate imessages.
If that doesn't work, you may just have to wait until they release an update, which should be pretty soon.
