Right click safe book is okay

but when I start up normally my right click does not work. It use to have a drop down to ease junk mail with right click but not anymore..anyone know where or what setting might be off? I use a Logitech MX mouse I know I was in the preferences for it but I didn't change anything (on purpose anyway)
It has a right chick option but I'm not sure where the setting should be set any ideas?

Probably wasn't updated to the latest version or is no longer needed. Most logitech mice will work without their software. I believe I deleted the Logitech Software when I was using it in Tiger on my PowerMac. I can't remember for sure, as that was a year ago. Some features may not be available though.
At least you know that you don't need it. As Captfred said, it secondary click in Mouse Preferences.
You can probably change your settings using the Mouse preference pane in System Preferences.

Firefox 8 and 9beta. Back and Forward buttons greyed out. Right click menu also has forward and back greyed out. Updated all plugins, then disabled all plugins and extensions and started in safe mode. No change.

Not sure what's caused it, but I noticed recently that right-clicking from the trackpad on my MacBook Pro in Address Book doesn't. If I do want to see right-click options, I have to hold down the control key. The trackpad right-click works fine in all other applications. Any thoughts?

Try regular "left" clicking on the labels to the left of the entries. Does this work?
Now try right-clicking on the actual entry data (email address, phone number, street address) and see what happens.
Seems a bit inconsistent, but I noticed it right after upgrading to Snow Leopard.

Menu Bar hangs in FF3.6.8 for Linux Mint 8. Delays of 1 minute plus after clicking on any element. Right click completely disfunctional. This happens in Safe Mode too. Even a complete remove/reinstall of FF did not cure problem.

This is a persistent repeat problem. I had this problem a week ago. A Linux savvy friend could not solve it, so we deleted and removed FF. That was a drastic solution, but solved the problem.
I had Ad Block and No Script add ons. I thought No Script might be the problem. Problem remained after disabling NS. I later even removed No Script but that still did not solve the problem.
Running FF in safe mode from terminal does not stop problem. If I try to right click at all, anywhere on page FF slows to a glacial crawl. It also requires that I force quit.

Right Click/Ctrl Click Addresses in Mail and Address Book

I used to be able to right click an email address in a mail message to copy just the address - now that action copies the entire entry: "FirstName LastName <[email protected]>" - so this handy feature is now gone.

I did some digging and found a very relevant preference setting, AddressesIncludeNameOnPasteboard.
1) Quit Mail
2) Go to your Terminal, and copy and paste the following command (all on one line).
defaults write com.apple.mail AddressesIncludeNameOnPasteboard -bool NO
3) Open Mail
When you open Mail again, copying addresses will be back to the 10.5 behavior.

In Firefox 3 the option to sort bookmarks is only available for folders and not for individual bookmarks.
Easiest to sort by name is to do that in the left pane of the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks) or in the sidebar and right-click the folder that you want to sort.

Right-click on Magic Mouse and Volume Controls on Wireless keyboard suddenly stopped working

I am running Mavericks 10.9.2 on an Late 2012 iMac.
One morning the right click on my Magic Mouse and the volume controls on the wireless keyboard stopped working.
These mouse and keyboard themselves seem fine; they work okay ehn used on a MacBook.
Everything else about the mouse and keyboard is fine.
This seems to be a problem what has been around for a whole, with a wide variety of solutions.

Moved the /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHIDMouse.kext and AppleHIDKeyboard.kext and and back in (and re-authenticate) - No joy
Moved the /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHIDMouse.kext and AppleHIDKeyboard.kext from a working MacBook on same OS - Made the keyboard misbehave even more

Here is what worked for me. My scrolling on the mighty mouse and a few buttons on my wireless keyboard weren't working properly. I reset the SMC, a link explaining the process is below. Hope it helps you too!

Lost right click send link, had to go back to ver 12 how do I make it work in ver 16 ?

Back in earlier builds of Firefox Like Build 12 I could right click mouse on any desktop web browser screen and a menu would appear with an option of Send Link and if clicked on it Thunderbird would open and show address book and screen would show the hyperlink with a subject of what is being sent.
I.E. found a great deal on product X for my friend and want him to go to web site so I right click and send link
not a picture of the page.
Build 16 will not do this any more is there a switch that needs to be turned on ? is the a change I could bake in ABOUT:Config ?

First update back to Firefox 16.0.2, as staying on older versions leaves you extremely vulnerable to security holes.

I have a 2008 24" iMac, running on 10.5.8.
I want to describe the whole issue. The only thing that changed in my routine and made it crash was that I bought a new Apple keyboard, with a wire this time, before I was using a bluetooth one, and a new wireless Logitech mouse. After I successfuly connected both, while browsing in Safari, the computer totally lagged. All I could do was to manually restart it. When I started it again, it said that the "ruby" application has quited unnexpectedly. After clicking ignore, I observed that the icons on desktop haven't loaded, the menu bar is constantly reopening itself, I can't right click, if I try to open Sistem Preferences that is as far as it will allow me to go, if I click anything else than, it closes system Pref. and leaves me again with this flicking menu bar, which of course I can't even click and an empty desktop. I couldn't see if the problem is only related to my user, as there is only 1 user on it. I tried to create a new one, but I get the problem mentioned above.
I try to see here on the forum if other people have had the same problem, but what I got was minor cases, they can still use finder or an app, everytime I open something, it dies and I only can restart the poor thing
I hope I don't have to delete all my info on my drive, that would be a big problem for me.

One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed. Or an errant process eating up RAM.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

I right click on link, click, open in new window, then nothing happens. Or, windows within a page will not open, for example, on gmail, when I click "details" the window will not open.

When I right click on a hot link, then click, open in a new window, a window will not open. Alternatively, I can click, open in a new tab, and a new tab will open. Additionally, if I'm at a website with a chat feature, the chat window will not open, or, as another example, if I'm at gmail, and I click "details", the window that opens giving the summary of when your account has been opened and the IP addresses it's been accessed from, will not open.
I have on the computer, Aurora too. I doubt that it's a source of the problem, but I had to throw that into the mix. For clarification, this problem is happening while using the Firefox browser.
