Right click - save image keeps saving to wrong location

I moved my firefox profile over from my old computer.
Now when i do right click -> save image as, it SOMETIMES defaults to C:\Users\test\Documents. Which was my old default location.
I have changed it to C:\Users\Question\Documents on my current computer but it randomly changes back to C:\Users\test\Documents. I cannot find a pattern that causes it to change, but it seems to happen mainly after i restart my computer (not always though).
Can someone please tell me how to get it to change to C:\Users\Question\Documents PERMANENTLY?

Oh right i forgot the first answer to every problem is "reinstall firefox".
Does anyone have a suggestion that does not involve reinstalling firefox and wiping my profile?

  • When I right click "save image as" on a JPG file, I get no response at all. How can I fix this?

I am running Firefox 34.0 on Linux (Fedora 20, KDE desktop). I checked the Mozilla download site and it says I have the latest version. When I right click on a JPEG file to save it, I get the "save image as" option, but when I select it, nothing happens. The file is not downloading. I google searched for fixes and tried all of the following, per the Mozilla support documents, all with no change in response:
    - Changing the download folder
    - Reseting the relevant preferences in the about.config folder
    - clearing the download history
    - Running Firefox in Safe Mode
Additionally, I verified under preferences that jpeg image is set to "always ask".
All other references to this problem seem to refer to problematic plugins, but the safe mode check shows that is not my issue. Any idea what the issue could be and how I can fix it?

As previously stated, when I run with all of the addons disabled, the problem still exists. I just tried this again and verified it again. Per your suggestion, I created a new profile and found that the save image as command worked. Do you have any idea what part of the profile is corrupted and causing the problem? I'd like to localize the problem so I can save as much of my old profile as possible, and not have to start over rebuilding all of my settings.

Apple Mail isn't going to change the format of any of your attachments. it isn't going to corrupt them either.
Exchange is a transport protocol and server. The issue you describe is not related to Exchange.
There are many different versions of Microsoft Outlook in use and they all have e-mail bugs. Different versions have different bugs. Some Apple Mail hack to get around a bug in Outlook 2003 may cause the same message to be problematic in Outlook 2000. Fix them both and another issue will cause trouble in Outlook 2007. You can't fix this. Apple can't fix this. Microsoft can and has but that is irrelevant if your recipients are using older versions.
One specific problem is that Apple Mail always sends image attachments inline, as images, not as iconized files. You can change this with Attachment Tamer. Just be aware that use of this software will break other things such as Stationery. E-mail is just a disaster. To date, no one outside of Apple has ever implemented the e-mail standards from 1993. Apple has continually changed its e-mail software to be more compatible with the de-facto standards that Netscape and Microsoft have unilaterally defined and people documented as "standards" after the fact. The e-mail messages that Apple Mail sends are 100% correct and do not violate any of the original standards from 1993 or the Microsoft/Netscape modifications. The problem is entirely bugs and limitations in various versions of Outlook.

  • How do I clean out the "Open With" dialog box when I right click an image?f

    Hi,
When I right-click and image to open it in a program I get a long list of programs to choose from. Many are duplicated or the same program but different version #s like Preview. How do I clean out the dupes and ones I don't want and keep the ones I do?
How would I add CS3's Adobe Camera Raw to the list?

Do a search for details on cleaning up the "open with" dialog, it's been discussed before but I'm sorry I can't remember what the fixes are.
I have duplicate choices too but have never tried to clean them up.

  • Pop up menu on right clicking an image?

    Hello,
    I am new to LabWindows/CVI.
Requirement: "To get a pop-up menu on right clicking on image"
Right now, I display my images in window numbers (0 - 15). Is it possible to be able to get a pop-up menu on right clicking an image window. If yes, how? If not, could you please suggest other methods to achieve this task? Should I display the image in a separate parent panel for example? How could I do this?
    Any help would be great.
    Cheers

I would use the code generator for right click event. then fill it up with whatever code you want under right click case. You can access these when you double click your UIR file, then on the top of the page click Code\Preferences\Default... then choose desired events for picture then go to Code\Generate\all callbacks and skip through the ones you don't want to be replaced.

  • When clicking "Save image as" how can I get Firefox to auto add a (1) (2) etc at the end of the filename if an image with the same filename already exists?

How can I get Firefox to automatically rename images when clicking "Save image as" on the menu, when an image with the same file name already exists in the folder??

    Hello,
That is not a feature that is supported natively within Firefox but there are various add-ons which I think will do the job you need.
The one I have used is [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/web-slide-show/?src=search Web Slide Show]. This is primarily an add-on for viewing a slideshow of images when they are presented as thumbnails on a web page. However once you are in the slideshow there is a download button which will download all the images in the slideshow. It will automatically rename the images if an image with the same name already exists in the folder.
If you don't like that add-on then here are some others that may do the same job:
    * [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/image-download-%E2%85%B1/?src=search Image Download II]
    * [https://addons.mozilla.org/En-us/firefox/addon/image-picker/ Image Picker]
I hope that helps. Let me know if not.
Also I notice that you are using Firefox v23. That is now an outdated version. To get the latest security updates I suggest updating to version 24. See the support article here: [[Update Firefox to the latest version]].

  • If you right-click an image you can select to "Block Images" from the site, but how do you reverse this choice?

If you right-click an image on a web page you can select to
"Block Images from [the url of the site]".
This works well, particularly to make the page printer-friendly, but how do you reverse this choice to see the images again?

You can see all permissions for the current page in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
If it is from a different domain then use this:
*A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (<i>Site Identification</i> icon) on the left side of the location bar.
*A click on the "More Information" button will open the Security tab of the "Page Info" window (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
*Open the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Page Info" window.
*Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow key.
*If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Is the disk cache and the memory cache enabled?
You can check these prefs on the about:config page.

To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />

  • Last night suddenly when I right-click-view-images in firefox, they appear centered and against a black background. It's usually meant to be a white background and the image appearing at top left. How to revert it?

I'm having trouble with something in firefox, it's quite minor but still bugs me. Last night suddenly when I right-click-view-images in firefox, they appear centered and against a black background. It's usually meant to be a white background and the image appearing at top left. I can't remember what I did to change this if it's my fault; if someone knows how to revert it I'd be thankful.

cor-el : thanks for the pointers! I wish the solution isn't an add-on every time ... if such long-standing behaviour is going to change, the least that could be done is put in an about:config option to get back the old behaviour.

  • Right click - New option keeps disappearing.

    Hello,
We have Windows 2008 r2 TS, which almost has 20 users accessing it and same has all IT related application installed in it. The problem here we are facing is
"Right click -> New" option keeps disappearing. At first we searched on web and found that one of the relevant registry entry might be missing due to any third party tool and all we need to do is to add that registry entry
which we did and it worked too, but after some it disappeared again and from then on this has been repeating itself and every time we have to manually add the registry entry to fix it.
I tried searching on web for reason of such occurrence but nothing much was found, is there anyone else who is facing such similar issue and is there any solution for this. Thanks.
    Regards, Amol S

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that "Right click -> New" option keeps disappearing on Windows Server 2008 r2.
Adding the registry entry manually can fix this problem, but after a period time, the registry entry has been disappeared again.
Before this problem happens, any new program has been installed? Or any change has been made? If so, try to uninstall the program or undo the change.
Besides, it seem that some process delete the registry entry periodically. Try to disable/uninstall anti-virus software(if any) and confirm the result.
Or, you may use some tools, such as Process Monitor(reference link:https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396)
to find the process which changes register entry.

  • When I try to right click "Save As" on photos in my yahoo email, I only get the option of saving as a secure download firefox document. How can I save the photo as it is intended (jpeg, png) ?

If someone includes a photo in the email body message (I use yahoo), if I right click on the image to save it to my computer, I only get the option to save it as a firefox document - secure download. If I save it as such and then click on the link, it takes me to a page full of weird code.
Please advise. I would like to be able to right click on the photo as save the image to my computer.

If Firefox doesn't saves the image with a valid image file extension like .jpg or .png then you need to add that file extensions yourself. You can rename already saved images and change the file extension to get working images. Add quotes around the name while renaming ("image.jpg") if Windows hides the current file extension or refuses to change the name (i.e you get image.jpg.html).
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    * Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    * Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Apex charts - right click, save as image (not responding)

    Hi,
Yesterday when our users attempted to right-click on an anychart produced by Apex, then save as image - they were able to identify a location to save to, however the infinity image labelled 'saving' was presented indefinitely.
At the same time, I noticed Anychart.com was down. This morning when I attempted the same action, now that Anychart.com is up, the process worked - correlation = causation?
A previous post seems to suggest it might be possible to localise whatever is converting the chart to images/pdf
Save as pdf/image does not work. It runs and runs ... Getting no output
Does anyone have any further details on this? I can't locate any existing references to anychart.com within my application, constructed source, /i/ folder etc.
    Cheers
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
So, if i understand properly, making this change
    <settings><pdf_export file_name="mychart.pdf" use_title_as_file_name="true" url="/i/AnyChart4_SaveAsPDF_php4/PDFSaver.php" image_type="jpg" />
will avoid atleast PDF issue? And as i dont have privileges to install or deinstall anything on /i/ folder, still this will work and URL path will remain same for each installation?
Adding another question, as you said "it sends base64 information when converting to PDF", does it mean i will not be able to convert to PDF, if i am using intranet and PC's not accessible to internet?
    Thanks
