RIGHT click to change brush size, hardness and roundness

use imac i7, lion 10.7.4.
It seems that, in CS6 photoshop, I could RIGHT CLICK, and a small panel would drop down at cursor location, allowing me to change size, hardness, and roundness of the brush.
I have recently updated to 13.0.1.  The technique described above no longer works, but I can't be sure that this happened after the update.
I may, as often, have screwed up a prefence checkbox.
appreciate ANY help
thanks,
vince

I didn't sense any change in the brush sizing mechanics with the 13.0.1 update.
With the Brush Tool selected, right-clicking in an image pops this dialog up for me:
And with Alt held down, right-clicking gives me interactive control of Diameter and Hardness:

    The MTU setting on the interface is the layer 3 packet size. In this case, the MTU is set to 1500, but the largest frame size transmitted on the interface (including layer 2 headers) is 1516. It sounds like you are experiencing another problem at the LES.

  • Right-click on browser.xul.error_pages.expert_bad_cert and select Toggle. The value will change to true.

    I am working with Firefox 30. I get a certificate error on each webpage I go to. I have reset and uninstalled the browser to no luck. I have also did the following:
    Open a new Firefox window, and type this into the address/URL:
    about:config
    - You'll probably see a warning that changing the config can be dangerous. Click the button to accept the warning and proceed, but BE CAREFUL from here on!
    - A table will appear showing various Firefox settings ("Preference Names") and their current values.
    - In the Filter box type: broswer.xul
    - There should now be a shorter list of settings, including one named browser.xul.error_pages.expert_bad_cert with a value of false.
    - Right-click on browser.xul.error_pages.expert_bad_cert and select Toggle. The value will change to true.
    - Exit completely from Firefox (i.e. close all windows), and then restart it.
    This has not worked either. Does anyone have any other thoughts?

    Any idea why you are getting these errors?
    If you expand the technical details section of the error page, there should be some kind of explanation or code there. Can you copy/paste that into a reply?
    If it says something along the lines of "sec_error_unknown_issuer" this can indicate one of these situations:
    (1) Incomplete security software installation
    Some security suites include a feature to intercept and scan your web traffic, including secure connections. In order to do this, they must present a fake certificate to Firefox, which of course, Firefox rejects. Programs such as ESET and Kaspersky provide a way to either turn off this feature, or import a master certificate into Firefox so that Firefox will trust these programs.
    Does that sound relevant?
    (2) Malware
    Unfortunately, some malware also will intercept your secure connections. Often they can do this invisibly in IE and Chrome because they can inject certificates into the shared Windows certificate store. Because Firefox uses its own certificate file, you may get errors in Firefox that you do not get in IE and Chrome.
    To distinguish these, it's helpful to inspect the "Issued by" section of one of the certificates from a site that works in IE but not Firefox.
    When you get the error page in Firefox, you can expand the "I understand the risks" section, and click the button to Add Exception. You don't need to actually save an exception to inspect the certificate, so you can cancel after viewing the certificate.
    Check the "Issued by" section to see what you find there. For example:
    * Name associated with your security software, such as ESET, BitDefender, Kaspersky, etc.
    * Sendori (indicates unwanted software from Sendori)
    * FiddlerRoot (indicates unwanted software named similarly to BrowserSafeguard, BrowserSafe, SafeGuard)
    * Something else
    What do you see?

  • Mouse Wheel Scroll - Change Brush Size

    Hi
    I use the "Liquify" filter a lot, and I've always wanted to be have the mouse wheel adjust brush size.
    (I'm not that keen on using the left-right bracket to adjust brush size.)
    Thanks.
    Q. Barrie

    I'm not sure, but with the OpenGL features enabled you can use a couple of combinatorial gestures to change brush size, and it gives you very fine control:
    Hold down the Alt key and click the right mouse button down on your image.  While holding it down, if you drag the mouse left, your brush will get smaller, and if you drag right it will get larger.  Drag it up to make it softer, down to make it harder.

  • Change brush  sizes using [  ] too slow

    I've recently swapped from Windows to Mac and I'm glad to be on Mac now. But whenever I'm changing brush sizes using the bracket keys the response time is way to slow.. I search the forum but found nothing on this. anyone have a fix for this..
    Running Leopard with OS 10.5.4 three internal harddrives and 10 gigs ram.
    All updates and patches were installed prior to photoshop.
    Machine is one week old.

    I completely remove Photoshop and did a clean install. Before changing anything I opened an image and tried increasing and decreasing my brush size using the bracket keys and everything was fine. The brush changes as soon as you hit the bracket key.
    But as soon as you highlight the info palette top right corner and make it active then come back over the picture and try changing the brush size I'm getting a one second delay. If I hit the bracket key three times quickly the brush completely disapears and then reapears at the appropriate size.
    This is a clean install with no plugins, no new fonts, no new nothing.
    I then downloaded the latest upgrades.. Reset disk permission, ran the chron scripts and I'm getting the exact same reaction from photoshop when attempting to change brush size with the bracket keys.
    Can anybody else reproduce this buy highlighting the info palette??
    I called a buddy who also recently purchased a new Mac Pro and his machine is doing the exact same thing.

  • Changing brush size in camera raw?

    I'm having trouble with changing brush size in the camera raw brush tools.
    What I use for input is a scandinavian keyboard and I have to type in alt gr+8 and alt gr+9 instead of brackets.
    This works great in Photoshop,  but sadly not in Camera Raw.
    Is anyone able to help me?

    That works well, thanks for this.
    Any idea why the brush sizing feature is not similar to Lightroom where you can simply scroll vertically on the Magic Mouse?
    Cheers,

  • Feature request: right-click to change calendars

    When I enter an event, I'd like to be able to use right-click to change the calendar. This would save time of having to open the event and edit that way.
    iCal is the least user-friendly app I know! Shame on Apple for leaving it this way.

    Hi Virginia,
    In the Calendar.app on OSX 10.8 you can right click an event, then select Calendar from the contextual menu to change the calendar the event is in. Is that what you mean?
    I do have a memory of this being in iCal in previous versions, but perhaps it was removed in OSX 10.7.
    Best wishes

  • My typewriter toolbar is graying out the ability to change font size, type, and color.

    My typewriter toolbar is graying out the ability to change font size, type, and color.

    Here's what I have done in the past. Maybe not elegant, but
    it works. (I
    use PHP, but I'm sure you can modify for ASP.)
    In the HEAD of each web page, include regular old embedded
    STYLE tags,
    but INCLUDE an external PHP file:
    <head>
    <style type="text/css">
    <?php include('styles/testcss.php'); ?>
    </style>
    </head>
    Now in that included PHP file, just have CSS code which pulls
    in your
    dynamic data. Here's an example snippet:
    body {
    color: #600;
    background-color: <?php echo
    $row_recordset['bgcolor'];?>
    Of course, you'll need the code for the recordset somewhere
    too.

    You will need the web browser Firefox installed
    http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-6.0.2&os=osx&lang=en-US
    Next you will need to add the following addons
    Theme Font & Size Changer
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/theme-font-size-changer/
    NoSquint
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nosquint/
    Theme Font & Size Changer can adjust the size of the type Firefox uses in the toolbar area.
    NoSquint remembers per site web page zoom levels and you can set a minimum size for all web pages so any site you visit is made bigger automatically. Safari doesn't do this.
    You can see the difference between Firefox and Safari in this picture.
    Note: Firefox is highly customizable browser, and I added the green with the yellow type, you won't see that when you first start using it.
    It did that to match my desktop picture, grey is depresssing.

  • Change brush size and hardness with CTRL-OPT-DRAG

    It may seem like an odd question, but I just can't use the shortcut to change size and the hardness of the brush in CS5 : Ctrl-Opt-drag
    I work on a MacBook Pro with a magic mouse. As soon as I click on CTRL, at the tip of the pointer, a small box appears (the icon of a menu) and then if I click, the small brush menu opens.
    I work on a french keyboard and I don't know how to get to change this shortcut since I'm not looking to reassign a key but an 'action'.
    I've reset all the shortcuts to original settings in the keyboard Preferences.
    Oh, and yes, I did select the OpenGL option.
    It sounds really easy but it's driving me crazy !!!
    If anyone has an answer, that would really help !
    Thanks,

    Ruedis, thanks for your input, but on a Mac, a Ctrl+Click is the same as a windows Right click (and one can Right Click with a mouse on a Mac), the Option key is the equivalent to the Windows Alt key (on my UK keyboard, it is also ALT that is written on the key. The Windows CTRL key is called Command on a Mac.
    So, on a Mac forum, saying CTRL-OPT-DRAG equals to saying ALT+Right Click on a PC one.
    In short:
    Win
    Mac
    Right Click
    Ctrl+Click
    Alt
    Option
    Ctrl
    Command
    Shift
    Shift
    Don't let this discourage you, please continue to share your experience, but be aware that sometimes, the problems are not cross-platform.

  • CHANGE BRUSH SIZE WITH CTRL and alt KEYS

    Hello everyone,
    i'm on the road with my new macbook and i have a problem with setting up my wacom pen.
    At home i use a iMac with CS5 and to change the brush size i press the alt and the ctrl key and move the pen to left/tight up/down to chang size and hardnes of the brush. I find this very handy!
    On my new Macbook i have CC and i don't have the option to use this easy key combination, i was loking around and did some google, but i could not find the place to get the same settings on my macbook.
    Is there anyone who can help me?
    Thank you very much.

    When you press and hold Option/Alt  + Control  and Left mouse click and drag nothing happens?
    (the button on your pen is set to left click?)
    The Option/Alt key should always be the second key to the left of the spacebar
    The Control key should always be the third key to the left of the spacebar

  • Changing Brush size in ACR 7.2 - bug oder feature?

    The update to ACR 7.2 changed the way the adjustment of the brush size is behaving. Before one pressed the right mouse button and moved left or right to change the size. Now it's not just left to right but right to left or up and down depending on where the tiny mouse indicatior on the outmost circle is placed. The has as an effect that it's not immediately clear in which direction the mouse has to be moved to change the size. Also the brush circle is move to the side while adjusting and is not congruent with the brushcircle after releasing the mouse botton.
    Any ideas if this is a feature or a bug?

    The ACR7.3 update did not fix the brush resize problem on my system either - also Win7x64 Ultimate, Ps 13.0.1 (currently I use only the x64 install but the problem exists with ACR hosted in the 32-bit install as well) and ACR 7.3.0.71.
    Another annoying thing I've noticed with 7.3 (maybe it was there before 7.3 but I never noticed it) is that even if you set the Feather slider to zero pixels, as soon as you set the brush size to 10 pixels or more, the brush is shown as being feathered. Maybe the 10 pixel cutoff is related to my screen size and resolution: 1920x1200 and 88ppi (NEC MultiSync LCD 2690 WUXi2) but it is still disconcerting at any size.
    The unexpected movement of the centre of the brush when you right click reported by the OP, another annoying characteristic, is always towards the centre point of your screen. If you are left of centre, it moves right and vice versa. If you are above centre it moves down and vice versa. Combinations move diagonally towards the centre.
    Eric Chan seemed to acknowledge the mouse right-click brush resize and brush centre movement problems with ACR 7.2 in his post #1. Looks like he's forgotten us or has been too busy with other matters. Either way , it would be nice to hear from him again with an update.
