Right-Click w/ Mighty Mouse issue

Alright, I set my mouse up right for the button being secondary and all that so that I can right click. However it only seems to work sometimes and on certain things. Is this normal? For example, when I right click a link in firefox it just opens the page. No right click menu. It drives me nuts. Or when I right click to try and copy highlighted text it won't do it. Grrr...
Any advice or is it just a bug?

Nevermind. It seems I have to click the very tip of the right side of the mouse. Not easy when you just want to click in the middle of the right side.

TS3048 Right click on Mighty Mouse and Wireless Keyboard are not working

I have a 24" iMac, early 2009 Lion,10.7.5. My wireless keyboard and mighty mouse are not working properly. Wireless keyboard- I can turn it on and it will ask me to pair it with the Blue Tooth. I cannot log the numbers in - I even tried logging them in with my wired keyboard device (which is an Apple keyboard).
My Mighty Mouse's right click stopped working as well.
I have gone through all of the troubleshooting steps-
New Batteries - Cleared Blue tooth preferences list, repaired permissions, Cleared cache, Made sure that the settings were correct ex: key was not checked on mouse, Removed both devises (keyboard, and mouse) from blue tooth and allowed them to be discovered again, PRAM reset, Hardware check/ reset, and lastly, Reinstall of OSX.
I am still having the same issue with both devices.

This is why you should always have a wired keyboard and mouse as backups.
Try smc and hope for the best.
I'd also suggest pram reset but you need the keyboard for that.

Need to right click a Mighty Mouse

I'm used to right clicking my mouse. I just got a new iMac and find the lack of right clicking ability most distressing!!!

My wireless mouse works fine on the powerbook but will not right click on my ImacG5 with 10.4.9
Is it likely to be due to incompatibilities. I crashed the finder with control click on a regular basis until I removed stuffit plugins from my contextual menu folders in library.

Try a firmware update for the iMacG5 and see if that solves the problem.

Hopefully that will get your MM right clicking with your G5.

How would i go about right clicking?

Make sure that you are not touching the left side of the mouse when you press the right side.

Why does File send link not work? Even right clicking on my mouse doesn't work. Is there a fix for this?

Why can I no longer send links to websites? Clicking File>Send Link doesn't work nor does right clicking on the mouse. Both worked prior to Firefox 6. I also can't send emails to websites that don't spell out their address but instead say "to send an email click here". Everything works fine in Chrome and Safari but not in Firefox.

OK well after first reverting to an older version of firefox to get my right click menu options back I have since discovered one way that works but at a cost.
By using the addon menu-editor it is possible to move the EMAIL LINK button from the file menu to the (Main Context Menu) ie the "right click menu" BUT you will loose the file menu button as there is no way to clone the button and only move a copy. Bunch of clowns that decided to do this I really don't know what they were thinking. Very VERY stupid move.

Windows XP Pro, SP3. Firefox 3.6.3. Ever since updating to this version a few weeks ago I can no longer do a right click of the mouse and check the properties of an active url link on webpages. I've always had the option before. I want this feature back!!!!

In Firefox 3.6 Properties has been removed from the right click context menu.
You can use ''View Image Info'' or ''View Page Info'' in the right click context menu to see the (image) properties.
You can use the above mentioned extension (Element Properties 6) to get that context menu item back.

After several time installed CS6 and a clean Windows 8.1 bridge still pause after selecting a picture or right click with button mouse.

My bridge pause all the time. I have to wait 30 seconds after selecting a picture or click the right button of the mouse. I have installed a new windows 8.1, and a fresh CD6. But still these problems in Bridge. No problems in Photoshop. What to do

What is the problem:
When I choose a picture in Bridge I have to wait 20 till 30 seconds (sometimes more).
When I choose with right click of the mouse. I have to wait the same time.
When I choose the menu. Also
After opening the picture(s) in Camera RAW. There are no problems
In Photoshop there are also no problems. Everything works all right.
Only Bridge have these problems. But I can’t work with it.

If you don't like the two finger tap (I don't - it doesn't seem to work consistently) you can asign one corner as a right-click or simply use the control click with one finger on the bottom (which is what I do, usually - just a habit left over from the old days).

Mighty Mouse Issues

Hello, The scroll ball on my wired Mighty Mouse will not scroll up, I have checked settings in preferences, everything seems ok. While trying to scroll up it almost feels like it is dragging (the little blue scroll ball) Scrolling down or side way works perfect. Don't know if it is the actual mouse or a software issue. Any one with ideas??

Glad to hear that the cleaning worked for you.
As David said, the surface that you use the mouse on will affect the accuracy of the mouse. The optical sensor can be easily confused if the pattern is not consistent.
I have found that the right mouse pad can make a huge difference. It's the pattern that actually makes the difference. You could probably get great results just using it on a non-glossy desk.
Wood-grain or a flat textured color would be fine.
But, I've actually gotten the best results on patterned mouse pad.
The ones I use are round mouse pads, as thin (or thinner) than a sheet of paper), and have a pattern that optical mice like.

I've found that it almost completely eliminated the pointer problems on my Microsoft Mouse, and 100% eliminated the problems on both my Apple Pro mouse and Mighty Mouse.
My Apple mice don't jump around at all now. So, give that a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Installed snow leopard and the right click on my mouse no longer works. Any ideas?

I just replaced my hard drive and installed a clean copy snow leopard with all updates. The right mouse button (normal wired mouse that came with imac) with the menu drop down is no longer working. changed secondary button in mouse settings and got the right click menu but now when I right click the file or group of files are no longer highlighted. this *****. any ideas?? Between the hassle of replacing a hard drive, mouse problems, firefox, opera, office mac and elgato tv problems and issues im fed up.

Apple menu -> System preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse should give you controls over the mouse. If not, either Steer Mouse or USB Overdrive might give you better control.
