Right clicking my iDevice in iTunes gives old restore options
I just noticed that if I right click my iPhone in my Mac's iTunes and selecting restore, it gives me options for a bunch of very old backups, along with one undated backup (the one from this morning)
Further checking, I see that I can't even select restore that way with my iPad. I just tried again, and it tells me I need to turn off "Find My iPad before restoring", even though it is backed up to my Mac.
I wish to have previous backups available, but how do I control them?
(All of my software and firmware is current)
Interesting. I just tested this out by restoring my current backup then checking. This particular backup is now available. A clumsy way of doing things, but now I can have a useful backup. It does no good to discover I need a backup, only to find out that I backed up a bad copy this morning.
So once a week, I will restore my iDevices right after the morning backup. Very unintuitive and time consuming.
Is there a way to delete old backups I no longer want (or maybe can't even use)?

Hello, i can't remember the answers to my security questions. Itunes gives me an option to resend answers to my old email which i don't remember as welll.somehow system doesn't give me my primary email which i usually use..so how can i solve this issue?

You would need access to that account in order to reset the questions. If you do not have access to it, then you will need to contact iTunes Store support in order to resolve the issue.

if a buddy's screename is faded (in the offline section), but a video icon is still next to the screename, and if you right click on the name "video chat" is an option, what does this mean? it is the only one on my whole list that has this.

It could be some sort of "flagging" issue where either the AIM Servers have gone out of sync and you are getting two lots of info (There are about three or four servers involved with getting data to your Buddy list)
I can also see the possibility where you have a Contact in your Address Book who has two Screen Names.
You have one in one group and in another they appear to be Off Line. However iChat will still Link them and Show their Capabilities when you Right Click.
One way of checking this is to double click them to open a Text Chat Window.
At the top is the Recipients Bar (See View Menu when Text Chat is Open).
This gives you the option to chose a different Buddy Name if the contact has two (It offers To and From options if you both have Multiple Accounts).

They have an @Mac.com name and Jabber ID (As it is an Old Chat the Jabber one is Off Line and their @mac.com name is currently "Away"
You can see I have a Google and three AIM Logins I could use to Speak to them.

Why am I not able to export NEF files to Photoshop from Lightroom to edit. This is new. When I right click on an image, the export to PS option is not selectable. I've never had this happen before. I haven't used it for a few weeks, so maybe there's an update (Mac or otherwise) that's screwing things up? HELP!
I have an Edit In - Photoshop option, but not an Export - Photoshop option.
Obviously to have right-click Edit In to work, the photo you're right-clicking on needs to be selected. I assume this is not the problem, and that the photo is selected.
Mavericks 10.9.3 has a problem where the Users folder is hidden, and you need to update iTunes to fix it, but it's been a few weeks since this happened so hopefully you're up-to-date and the Users folder isn't hidden anymore.
If you can't get things to work, I'd uninstall LR and uninstall Photoshop, then install Photoshop, and update it, then install LR and update it, as a way to get any wayward security or other OS-level things reset. -
I need to be able to right click on a saved document and have the option to convert to Adobe PDF. I have the Abobe Acrobat Xl Pro and used to have this option until I had to create a new subscription. What do I need to do in order to have this option? I use windows 7

We used to be able to sort by multiple columns/rows at once by right clicking on the header and choosing show more options-how do we do that in the new Numbers? It doesn't appear anywhere. Do I now have to sort massive tables by each column one at a time now? Also there used to be an easier way to merge/unmerge cells without me having to go to the table menu each time. Am I missing something?
Multiple column sort is a missing feature in the new version. Hopefully soon to return. You can do a multicolumn sort by sorting one at a time in reverse order of importance.
For merging and unmerging cells, I select the cells and right click to bring up the contextual menu. Merge and unmerge are on the menu. You could also create keyboard shortcuts for Merge Cells and Unmerge Cells in the Table menu. -

okay not sure how this works so here i go again.
Okay i bought a dell pc with windows 8 (big mistake) i downloaded itunes and from my external hard drive, right clicked a movie file (in ipad format, because this worked in vista on my old laptop) and it will not go into itunes. And itunes keeps crashing. Is there a glitch with win 8 and itunes ? I never had this prob with vista. I would right click a file and say open with itunes and poof it goes in the library. Please help before i throw this thing out the window! OH newest itunes is what i have installed.Take a look at this MBP, a refurbished unit. Don't let the late 2011 release date put you off. For about $500 less than an equivalent 'new' one with similar specifications you get a quad core CPU and excellent graphics. As Steve359 mentioned, this can be upgraded if the need arises and has the same warranty as a 'new' one
I would not be surprised that these may actually be 'new' MBPs due to the length of time that they have been replaced by the current generation. I purchased a 17" model about 5 weeks ago, and a serial number check suggests that it is 9 weeks old.

Right click folder add to itunes?
I am constantly finding new music and adding it to my itunes. I was wondering if there was a plugin/app/extension that makes it possible for me to right click a FOLDER(preferably not just audio files, but a folder containing them) and having a selection to add to itunes. I keep itunes open always so i can play my music in a hearbeat and this function would be really awesome.
Just drag the files into your Automatically Add folder. iTunes will add them to its library immediately if it is running, or else the next time it starts.

Hi, I have a 7th gen ipod nano and am having a problem with deleting songs. I can select the track in my ipod's library but right clicking does not bring up the option to delet. I have downloaded the latest update for the ipod but this has not solved the issue. Can anyone suggest a remedy? thanks

In order to delete or add individual songs from and to your iPod, you'll need to enable 'manual mode' on the device. This will allow you to add and remove exactly the content you desire.

I didn't change any settings and the toolbar began hiding. There's now no bookmarked tab. Searched through help on-line and it said to right click on tab and it would give a pop up menu to change settings, but I tried that and it only gives option to close tabs etc.
If the top bars slide up and out of sight, but reappear when you move your mouse pointer to the top of the screen, you might be in full screen mode. Press the F11 key to switch between full screen and normal modes.

Why wont itunes give me the option to delete a song from my computer as well as the itunes library??
I want to clean up my music library, but when I try to delete a song from iTunes it doesn't give me the option to delete the file for the song from my laptop. Is there a reason why??
If you are deleteing from a playlist, it won't ask to delete from the hard drive (unless you hold Shift and press Delete).
If you are deleting from the library and it is not asking you, go to iTunes prefs > Advanced and tick Reset all dialog warnings. -
When right clicking an image in Bridge, the "open with" option doesn't display Fireworks
This is not the case with all the files, but some. For example, there was a .jpg file that I couldn't open in Fireworks when right clicking and choosing "open with", although Illustrator and Photoshop were both listed. Note: I have Cs5 Extended. Thank you in advance.
The "open with" menu is set in the OS, not Bridge, so open Windows Explorer and work on it from there to add what you want.
