Right earphone broken

I bought my iPod touch 5g around July last year at Target and my earphones have been working fine till today. Noise won't come out of the right side and it's not that all the volume is set to the left side in general>accessible. Am I able to get a new pair or get a way to fix them?

The earbuds have a 1year from date of purchase warranty. Contact Apple store or Apple Genius Bar about replacement. (Target will most like do nothing, but you can contact them about the warranty). Cheers.

  • Cannot hear out of right earphone

hey guys so when i got the phone i had to twist the earphone jack to listen to the right earphone and the left one worked fine, couple weeks later the earphone jack from the earphones had snapped inide the phone. I Had then clawed the earphone jack out and then when i now try to listen to music i have to twist and out the earphone jack in an exact place just to listen to the left one and the right one does not work at all and i only got the phone on christmas. Pretty dissapointed but is there anyways i can fix this?? Clean out the jack? Play with it? Any solution would help thank you

Take it back to Apple for appraisal. If it was like that from new at Christmas, it could be a warranty job.

  • Headphone wh-701 right earphone not working

i recently bought a new nokia n8. And the headphone which comes with my mobile (wh-701) is working good. But recently the right earphone is stop working ... is their any way to repair it or change with nokia care... my mobile is in under warrenty

    Hi JamalJan,
Welcome to the Nokia discussions board!
If your headphone is damaged and you was not the cause of this, you should take it back to the retailer and bring a proof of purchase. They can deal with the issue there because it may be that you have a hardware problem.
Let us know how you get on with this.

  • My iPod plays extremely softly out of the right earphone

I own a 30GB iPod, which for months was working perfectly fine, then one day the right earphone played very softly. I know that it isn't the headphones because when I use other headphones, it is exactly the same way. It plays perfectly out of the usb jack on speakers. Can somebody tell me why this is, and if so, how to fix it without sending it to Apple?

You could try a Restore, but I'm not sure that will fix it. Is it still under warranty? It sounds like a hardware issue, and I think it will probably require sending in for repairs.

  • No sound on right earphone

I don't have any sound coming from the right earphone. The left works fine & it also sounds fine without the earphones in. I've bought a new set of iphone earphones & there's no difference, so it's not the earphones.

Are you near an Apple Store? Make an appointment for the Genius bar. With a non-intermittent issue like that they should be able to help you right away.

  • Right earphone doesn't work.

    Hi,
    My earphone model is: MDR-NC31EM
My right earphone isn't working with my Xperia z2. It does work with my laptop and it did work with my friend's iphone6. I also tried other earphones and headphones with my Xperia z2 and they work perfectly. It seems like only my earphones are specifically not working with my phone only.  Anyone has a fix for the problem? The nearest Sony store is very far from me and going there would be a major inconvenience.

  • Right Earphone Quieter Than Left

I recently bought a new iPod nano. When I was listening to it I realised that my left earphone was significantly louder than the right earphone, I just assumed I had damaged the earphones and ignored it. However, I then used my sister's earphones and noticed the same problem. Any suggestions on what could be causing it?

Definitely take it back and get a replacement. Sounds like it is in the device itself. You should also get a good pair of quality earbud covers to protect your earbuds. Not the foam or silicone kind, but the fabric ones that cover the entire earbud.

  • Lumia 925 right earphone continually breaking

So I've had the same problem as a few other comments on this board about bad sound quality in calls which is annoying. Furthermore my right earphone keeps breaking, i know it isn't my earphones as I've used three different pairs, that work on other devices and a brand new pair. Because of the speaker problem and this i am on my third Lumia 925 and its still the same problem...anyone else experiencing this? Nokia do you have any advice?

Hi Aleksandarmoran, what is the model of the headset that you are currently using on your phone? You can try using a Nokia compatible headset and see if there is any difference. I suggest checking your local Nokia Website for list of compatible Headset for your Lumia 925.

  • Shuffle only plays music out of right earphone.

I have had my Ipod Shuffle 2nd generation for years with no problems. I have always used aftermarket earphones with no problems. Then suddenly one day the left side stopped working. Naturally I thought I needed new earphones. Not at all...I bought new ones and had the same exact issue. So...then I thought I needed a new Ipod. I bought the Shuffle 4th gen. The SAME thing happens with this new one. I tried both sets of earphones and only the right side works...not a peep out of the left side. What in the world is going on??

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago. My iPod and my sony earbuds had lasted me for years, but in a two-day period, both my sonys and my backup pair of knock-offs stopped functioning properly. I looked around online, and found that it's caused by the wiring and inner components in the left earbud getting worn out because it's the one that carries the bass as well as the melody. You really have only two options: 1) you can get instructions on how to take apart the earbud and possibly find the broken part, but most likely not be able to fix it, or 2) you can just get one more pair of headphones. Nothing expensive, but not too cheap—I've found that around the 14 dollar range seems to last a long time. Hope this helped.

  • Ctrl Shift Left, Ctrl Shift Right shortcuts broken in GMail compose box

When composing a GMail message in Firefox, selecting a word at a time with ctrl-shift-left arrow or ctrl-shift-right arrow stopped working in the compose textarea. (The key combination does nothing now. Without the ctrl, shift-arrow still selects a letter at a time.)
This was broken a long time ago, then fixed somewhere in the last few months. Now in 3.6.12 it's broken again.
This works fine in Chrome 6,7 and 8, as well as IE.

You're welcome and thanks for posting the outcome of your 'hunt' for the culprit.

  • Louder sound from Right earphone

    Hello,
Could someone please help me with my issue, when the earphones are connected the sound is A LOT louder on R than on L.
It's definetely not a problem regarding the earphones (already switched 4 pairs). And the multimedia players are set to CENTER.
when the earphones aren't connected, the laptop speakers work perfectly.

Thank for the information. Now that I understand the situation, and since you tried the troubleshooting. I have determined that the jack you connect the headphones to is faulty and/or broken. This can happen on any device that uses headphone and speakers, and I've seen this throughout the years on many different devices. I would call HP at 1-800-474-6836 and explain the situation and the troubleshooting you have done. Their options will be based on your product's warranty, which you can find out here: http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public/wc/home?ac.admitted=1381956297794.876444892.492883...

  • Powerbook g4 right hinge broken pink wire broken...

well as the title states the right hinge on my powerbook is broke, and theres a pink wire broken. my screen is not viewable at all unless i put a flashlight to it. is this an easy fix at all...if i take it into a repair shop? just wondering if its worth the $ to fix.

It is not a trivial repair, since you report a broken wire.  The right hinge of the Titanium powerbooks carries the cable from the inverter to the backlight, so if your book is a Titanium model, that explains why you have no backlight.  Hinges themselves can be replaced.  I just swapped both hinges in my slightly older unit with the not-inexpensive steel replacements from Powerbook Medic.  We'll see how they hold up, compared to the aluminum originals.
With a broken wire, though, you are looking at replacing the inverter cable, which is even more involved than replacing just a hinge and might involve some serious disembowelment of the machine, as otherwise you will be likely unable to actually get the cable fished through the back of the upper case.  This was my "older" TiBook just before replacing the display about five years ago.  Note the important off-camera location in the blue arrow.
The situation can be handled, but not without serious effort.

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
