Right-Indenting the last paragraph line in a Table Of Contents entry

Hi,
I'm using CS4 In Design.
I'm trying to format the paragraph styles for my Table of Contents.
I have the tab leaders working, everything looks good except that I have entries that have multiple lines, and I can't find a way to format the TOC paragraphs so that the lines BEFORE the last line are right-indented more than the last line (which of course contains the tab leads and page number).
I'd like to not have to go into my text and manually add Right Index Tabs in every heading instance that will be pulled into the TOC.

One manually breaks the line short (or lives with no leaders) using a
shift-return. I usually finesse TOCs after I think the client is mostly
done with correcting.

I'm not sure what that means. If you're using a right-aligned tab (or
two tabs, if you want to right-align the ends of the leaders) your
numbers should right-align on the tab setting. Exactly. Nothing should
be "nudged to the right".

Trying to email the last 10 lines of a file in the body of an email

Hi All:
Total PS n00b here.
I'm using PS 2.0 - I am using the "Get-Content | Select -last 10" on a logfile that I want to email. I got the email to work, but the formatting is lost (it's a Robocopy log that lists the details of what got copied/skipped/etc.)
Is there a way to retain the formatting of the last 10 lines?

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I was able to get it closer using "Select-Object -last 10|%{"$_ <br/>"}. Remember, I'm using PS 2.0 & "-Tail" & "-last 10" wouldn't work w/out "Select-Object".
I had a friend who had a PS script that does $msg.IsBodyHTML = $true and it got it closer.
Here's what it supposed to look like outta Robocopy:

I'd like to get the numbers to line up w/their columns & my manager says he prefers it in the body & not an attachment, but I tried tommymaynard's suggestions, but I don't know how to tell it to overwrite an existing file.

Place new objects right above the last active one?

Hi there,
I'm using Illustrator for years now, but I still haven't figured out how to create new objects right above the last selected one instead of the absolut top of the layer (or clipping path, when in draw-inside mode).
I want to click on an object anywhere in my layers, then draw a new path or dreate a shape right on top of it, like it works in photoshop with new layers.
I know you can cut-out the object and place it manually via ctrl-f, but thats really cumbersome and slow.
Does anyone have tipps how I can solve this problem or a has workaround?

Sorry Mike, but you must have missed the part in my post, where I already stated that I know about the ctrl+f functionality. It's not a good solution sadly :-(
My usual workflow consists of creating the main shapes of an illustration first and then add the smaller parts. Now I have to create an object, ctrl+x it, select the shape I want to add details and press ctrl+f.
Besides that, I find it very irritating, that theres an option "draw behind" but not "draw on top" which would be much more useful.
Do the other vectorprogramms handle the process the same?
Or does anyone know about a plugin or script that add the functionality?

On imac running10.6 I reset factory settings and start up only got logo andspinning wheel. I've tried safe mode w no luck. Tried recovery mode. Just tried shift command and v and the last three lines say dubious permission on file skipping. It stops ther.

I also started in single user mode. Typed in the sbin fsck fy command. Said appears to be ok but also files were modified. When I type reboot it goes back to logo and spinning wheel

To fetch last record from an internal table, just do find the number of records in it and read using index.
DESCRIBE TABLE ITAB LINES L_LINES.
READ TABLE ITAB INDEX L_LINES.
You can also use LOOP .. ENDLOOP but the above method is better (performance wise).
using LOOP .. ENDLOOP.
LOOP AT ITAB.
**do nothing
ENDLOOP.
**process ITAB (Header record of ITAB).
**after ENLOOP, ITAB will have the last record of the internal table.
[here ITAB is internal table as well as header record.]
But what is the requirement?
If you are looking for the current record of an employee then you can use ENDDA = HIGH_DATE.
My advice is to review your requirement again and try to fetch only that record which you need.

How to Select the last saved records in a table. I think usea a temp table for put the last row read and begin to read in the next row.
The table is reading each four hours.

Theoretically it can be done with ORA_ROWSCN and enabled ROWDEPENDENCIES, but there are so many nuances, so only adding column for ordering is right.

I'm not sure about 8i features.
I assume here that you don't have 'Date-Time' stamp columns on the table which is the easiest way to determine the last inserted row in the table.
If not try the following :-
select address, piece, SQL_TEXT
from V$SQLTEXT
where upper(sql_text) like '%INSERT INTO TABLE_NAME%'
Substiute the TABLE_NAME with the name of the actual table.

How can I change the paragraph style of the Table of Contents entries themselves?

From what I can see, all Table of Contents entries are the same font, size, indentation and layout when the book is viewed in Portrait mode on an iPad. I have long subheadings in my Table of Contents, and they get truncated!
How can I modify the style definition of the TOC entries themselves so that they will display in a smaller font size with less indenting, etc.?

Two different page numbers in the same line in my Table of Contents

Last Paragraph line when using full justification stretches too much

One thing that really bothers me is the way that the last line of a paragraph will stretch out over the whole width of a page when you are using full justification, even when the line is only one or two words. This is simply unacceptable from an esthetic point of view. Does Pages 2 fix this annoying behavior—which really makes full justification practically unusable—or is that still broke?

I've run into this too, although only when pagination
occurs: i.e., you go to the next page. Haven't struck
it otherwise, and frankly had barely noticed it until
I changed to Pages 2. However it's still there. I
haven't struck it enough yet to find a workaround -
although you might try inserting your cursor in front
of a paragraph or line break - or checking invisibles
to see if you can spot what's going on when it
happens. Trouble is, before I get to that, the
problem's usually gone. To cheer you up a bit though,
it's a failing of other programs too, and I often
notice it in my local newspaper where it doesn't get
cleaned up at all!
But seriously, it's a bug and needs a fix. Be sure to
report it to Apple.
And if anyone's got a surefire trick for dealing with
it in the meantime, I'll be trying their answer too.
On the other hand, if it were something you could
live with through a method to avoid it - then why
isn't it in the help screens?

You told me what I did not want to know, which is that it is not fixed in Pages 2. It does not happen in some other WP that I have used, so it is very disapointing that Pages fails in this regard. Cheers!

How to remove the last new line in text area ?

I have a calculator Applet that shows the calculation in a text area.
if i enter 2+6, the text area shows
2+
6
and i have a clear last button, which deletes the last entry by user.
in the example above, one hit of clear last, deletes 6. another hit should delete +.
I can delete the numbers, but I don't know how to go back to the previous line and delete the operator.
I may have other calculations in that text area above the current calculation. so replaceAll("\n","") would not work here.
Please someone help me here.

so i thought for deleting an operator i should use something similar, where i need to go back to the previous line and delete it,

I am downloading the one internal table content using the GUI_DOWNLOAD to a text file(.txt). The cursor is in last position of the text file where there is no content. For example consider the below is downloaded txt file:
This is test file.
Downloaded from the internal table
using GUI_DOWNLOAD

In above the internal table content first three lines..
Once I press page down in the text file, the cursor goes below the third line..(i.e., next to the last line)
How to avoid that ?

Iphoto began running slow right after the last update. I'm working with raw files. when I have an open moving from photo to photo some times it slows way down, Never did prior to last update. Thanks

iphoto is running slow at times. This never happened until I installed the the last update. The program gets slow when I have an event open moving with the arrows back and forth. It doesn't make a difference in full screen or smaller

Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import a number of raw image files and test to see if the same problem persists.
