Right mouse button, where have you gone?

Hi,
I just did a fresh, clean system install, including Logic Pro X. My system is running like a dream, but there is one strange thing: Logic won't display the optoins for "Right Mouse Button" in the Preferences/Geneeral/Editing dialogue, even though my right click is active in the system prefs. Logic's preferencepane looks like this:
Isn't that weird?
Any help would be appreciated!

Don't feel silly!! It's a new setting and defaults to 'Off' if the system detects that you have run Garageband at any point.
It's an annoying, pointless setting, in my opinion.

I found it (well the solution for my problem ;-).
Just comment out the searchroot parameter and ZENBuddy starts searching
from the root of the tree.

Battery- Where have you gone!!!

Anyone with an idea on just why battery life on 10.2.0.424, goes freaky?
Full battery charge last night, flat this morning.
Its been great until last night. I checked the app manager and the only huge user of cpu and memory is System.
surely the OS cannot go stupid in only 2 weeks. Seriously BB needs to spend some investment money in getting the OS right.
Something must be casuing this rapid battery drain, but what??

Grey's Anatomy - oh where have you gone?!

Only series 5&7 are available on demand. All series were supposed to be available until the end of March. I take it this was a mistake. We are in the middle of series 6 so please please do not disappoint us!! Can you bring it back ASAP please??

I had the same problem with my iPhoto library of thumbnails. I found them, but when I am unable to drag more than one at a time! I can highlight more than one file in the list, but when I hold the command key or the option key or both (I tried various combinations) only one file will drag over. I could do this, but it will take a long time since I have a lot of photos.
Is it possible to drag a group of files or do I have to drag each one?

Adobe, Adobe, Where have you gone?

I am 62 years old and have used Adobe software for apx 15 years. Now, I teach classes in Audio and Video [production, editing, etc]. The classes are free to the very select students who qualify. It is totally non profit. But, there is no doubt that these dedicated and passionate students will be the industries "Who's Who" in the future. Adobe has always been [one of] the top production softwares available. The price is prohibitive to many but demanded by many porofessionals. It is a Must, that todays Production students, be familiar with Adobe Software's.
Up until about 5 or 6 weeks ago, Adobe was ambitious, heading for a higher orbit. Company plans [according to executives] were looking to become the industry standard [undisputed] top software. They had great goals and apprently knew exactly how they would achieve them. Then! Something happened . . . Adobe was hacked .... they notified their customers of the "Nightmare". And, it seems, Adobe fell out of orbid and is in a freefall. I know I am not the only person hoping Adobe's parachutte will open and allow the company a safe landing. Also, after reading dozens of post, I am not alone when it comes to major problems [all of a sudden] with Adobe and with Customer Support. Being a Creative Cloud Member, I had downloaded 12 Adobe software products. After changing my password [at Adobe's request], none of the software would funtion. I couldn't even open them. After going through a lot of time and frustration trying to get in contact with Adobe, I finally was able to talk to a service tech. He had a very thick accent [from India or in India?]. It was extreamly difficult to understand anything he said and after talking for 40 minutes, I was getting no answers. I ask to speak with a Manager or Supervisor. Finally, a Supervisor was put on the line. Unfortunately, his accent was even more difficult to understand and . . . it seemed he did not understand the English language very well. After spending more than an hour on the phone with Adobe, the only clues I received were .... Un-install all Adobe Software. Re-Install all Adobe Software. The time required to do this [12 software products] was 2+ hours. After completing the suggested "Fix", Still nothing. Also, I was unable to access any Learning Videos or Tutorials. The Adobe "Supervisor" had apologized and told me I would get a credit of 5 days. That was never received.
I am a Creative Cloud Member. I pay the monthly fees [out of pocket]. Most equipment, supplies, and software's are donated by Universities or the Companies who produce them. I decided to go ahead with paying Adobe because I feel it is a necessary and important part in the education of my students.
I, like so many others, will be waiting for Adobe to "Come Back!"

[SOLVED] Thunar 1.6 doesn't drag-and-drop with the right mouse button

Hallo all.
It might be something I've done (though I did delete my ~/.config/Thunar directory before upgrading), but Thunar doesn't let me drag-and-drop with the right mouse button, thus stopping me from copying something instead of moving it, etc. Has anyone else had that too?

Microsoft Windows, Nautilus, the Haiku Tracker, and probably many other file managers have a feature where, when you right-click or middle-click and drag an icon to a new location, a pop-up menu appears and asks what you'd like to do (Move, Copy, Link). I thought I used to use this feature in Thunar too but it seems to have stopped working in recent versions. Has anyone else had any experience with it?

Right Mouse Button Menu Activation over JTextArea

Hello JavaMasters !!
I'm a little Shamy to ask you this silly question, but I don't manage to activate the right mouse button Menu over a JTextArea (to do Copy/Cut/Paste/Select All .. operations) as with a simple TextArea !!
I hope that its just a boolean to change, and not a remake of the Menus with Panels and Images . . .
I ve tried to Flew over Tutorials but nothing seems to be easily makabel. So if you have a solution , Easy or Hard, Please HELP ME !!

Possible to make folder in right mouse button?

I was wondering if it is possible to make a own folder link in the right mouse button. I would like to right click on a photo on my desktop and choose the folder in the pop up window where the photo then would move to. Is this possible?

I'm pretty sure you didn't do it correctly. it works for me. did you read the installation instructions? you have to put the CM plugin into the Contextual menu folder and the preference pane into the PreferencePanes folder inside the Library in your home directory (not at the top level of the drive). then log out/in and it will work.
And it's a demo only. Can I do this somehow with Automater?
yes, but why bother. that CM plugin is much nicer than anything you can make with automator.

Right mouse button strange behaviour

When dragging a file from one folder to an other using the right mouse button the normal behaviour on windows 7 is to show a menu where I can choose: copy here, move here or create shortcut here. With my external mouse everything is fine but not with my touchpad. also the right click is not always recognized. Im pretty shure this behaviour is new after reinstalling.

Bootcamp 3.1 the updatet to latest bootcamp, neither was working.

I am providing you with an HP Support document: Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7), which will walk you through restoring your computer back to a point in time when the menu did show up properly. Right mouse button with the trackpad

I read that on the 17 inch MBP there's an option to imitate the right mouse button by clicking when having two fingers on the trackpad (instead of Ctrl-click). Can anybody say whether this is something unique to 17 inch MBP hardware or whether we can also get it to work on the 15.4 inch MBP's?

OSX you have. Is it 10.4.6? Or maybe 10.4.7 which we
could see in an update soon.
Apple will not have updated the OS revision number for the newer systems.
What they do, is update the "Build" of the OS version.
For example, when the iMac G5 came out, there was a custom "Build" version released with that machine (only on that machine).
Then, when the second version and 3rd versions were released, they again released custom build revisions for those machines.
These custom "builds" are essentially the latest OS available with a couple of tweaks to enable new features unique to that machine.
So, what they would see is a different "Build" number than the build number on the 15-inch systems.
This number can be found by clicking on "About this Mac" in the Apple Menu. Then, click once on the "Version 10.4.6" line where it is displayed in the box. The "Version 10.4.6" line will then change to a line that reads "Build XXXXX". On my Mac Mini with the retail 10.4.6 installed, it says "Build 8I127".
Clicking on the build number will then display your computer's serial number. Clicking on the serial number will then switch back to displaying Version 10.4.6.
This Build number will likely be different on machines released after 10.4.6 was available to reflect customizations to 10.4.6 that are unique to that machine.
Keep in mind that the build number also changes with each update to OS 10.4.x that you install using software update. So, this build number will only be helpful if you check it before any updates are applied.

in Firefox 3.6, clicking the right mouse button opens (link)
a new window option .... but in firefox 4.0 ... option opens
the flap open .. but I do not like that option .....
how do I delete this
option of becoming like the tab firefox 3.6??

The right click menu pops up after I push the right mouse button, instead of when I release it.

I am using an extension All-In-One Gestures. It works on my other installation of Firefox 4 - particularly, the right-click menu pops up if I click right mouse button and then release it so I can perform gesture or turn the wheel instead of getting a right click menu.
But on this installation (basically the same addons and OS), the right-click menu pops up on pushing down the right mouse button so the right-button+wheel gestures do not work, and the menu stays there while I am performing the gesture which is rather annoying.
So I though maybe there is some obscure configuration option to toggle to make right-click menu pop up after the button release? Or is this entirely the extension's fault? Note that it does work as expected on other installation...

You have to enable in Firefox
-> Options -> Content -> Activate JavaScript (yes) -> More
-> Allow scripts the following actions
-> Inactivate or replace context menu (yes)
in order to allow All-in-one-Gesture to block the immediate appearance of the context menu.
If you forbid Firefox JavaScript and/or the manipulation of the context menu by use of JavaScript, All-in-one-Gesture cannot work properly.

Right mouse button - short list

I have got Apple MacBook Pro 13.3” (ME865LL/A) witch OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 and I’ve noticed that when I click right mouse button on the desktop or in the Finder I’ve got very short list. There is only „New Folder/Catalog (I don’t know how it calls in english cuz I have polish version but I hope that you know what I’m talking about)” and „Information”. I remember that previously I had more things there and I don’t know what I’ve done that this things have disappeared. It is worth noting that I use „Total Finder” but when I turn it off the problem does not disappear.
Below - how it looks like. On the top "New Folder" and on the bottom "Information". There's no more things.
Have someone ever come up against this kind of problem?

I've just figured it out! TotalFinder causes that these things disappeared from context menu and there left only 2 things. But why? How Can I configure TotalFinder to have more position to choose.

JTable selection _only_ with right mouse button

I have a JTable and my code is responsible for selection. All selection should only be done with the right mouse button. The left on will be used for other purposes. However, I do not know how to stop selection with the left mouse button.
Currently selecting with the right mouse button does the selection in "my way". Klicking with the left mouse button still offers selection the "default way". I want to disable this default way. How can this be done?
