Right SAPup version for upgrade from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0

I am upgrading from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0 , but i have a erro, with SAPup tool, I don't know to select right SAPup version, please show me about that, thank you very much!

Hi,
As anil you have to download the Upgrade guide, therer you could see the clear information -about SAPup.
they have mentioned the issues with SAPup and they have asked us to use new SAPup version due to the issues of Old SAPup version.
have a look at the below notes

Hello All,
I am preparing a pre-upgrade assessment for upgrade from ECC 5.0(SCP) to ECC 6.0.. I am suggesting the strategy Combined Upgrade and Unicode Conversion.
I need a template on how to prepare the pre-upgrade assessment for this upgrade..The template should also contain Impact analysis on the other application like BI 7.0, EP 7.0 and CRM 5.0..
How do I find out the Impact analysis on the other systems.Please do provide your suggestions on this.

Any document in SMP which talks about the impact on SAP landscape?I could not find a tailor made documentabout Impact Analysis of ECC 6.0.

For Functionality Differences pls refer to the below site -

After opening the site, please select the Source Release Version which is 4.6 b Then Select the Target Release Version which is "mySAP ERP 2005" or ECC 6.0
Select the Solution Area like Financials, Human Capital Management, Sales....
Select module like MM, PP, SD, QM.....
Click on Search
Then it displays the Release Version and the Delta Functionality. which can be downloaded to a word document if required.
and also check the release notes of ECC 6.0 in service.sap.com.

You have to aware of all related program like BDC's , Screens related errors and all dictionary related problems.
Some function modules may become obsolete, and some screens will change
abnd some new fields will be added in the new versions etc.
Also take care of SPAU and SPDD tcodes.
You should be able to know about Unicode concept in sap.

When I check for the software upgrade on my Mac-book Air, it is showing that the above upgrade is available. Will it be charged? I am not asked the ‘ Apple ID’ before start of up gradation process , does that mean that such upgrades are free?
If yes, How much are the chargers for such upgrades?

10.7.6 does not exist.
The next one will be Mountain Lion 10.8 and will cost a little amount.
The Mountain Lion is not an "update", but an "upgrade": a different OS: before installing you should check the compatibilty of your hardware and software.

Upgrade from ECC 6.0 with no EHP to EHP 7

We are planning an ERP upgrade from ECC 6.0, which has no enhancement package, to EHP 7.
Can this upgrade be done :
1. Directly to EHP7
OR
2. Do we need to first upgrade to a lower EHP, for example - to EHP 5 or 6 first, and then to EHP 7?

Yes, you can upgrade the system to ECC 6 EHP 6 or 7,
before that is any other SAP system are connected to ECC6 ?
If it is yes, Kindly refer the SAP Note, & you require to check those SAP version are supported to ECC 6 EHP 7 ?

After are upgrade from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0 on an iSeries machine we have noticed an increase in the number journal receivers being created by SAP approximately twice as many that were being created on are 5.0 system. I've checked all the attributes for the journal receivers and they were set the same on both versions. This hasn't caused use any issues but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or knows the cause of this. Thanks, Jason Duncan

We are upgrading from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0 EHP5 and EP 6.0 SP23 to EP 7.0 EHP2 {7.02}.
Right now the ESS/MSS BP's used in the Existing system (ECC 5.0 and EP 6.0) are given below.

We want to run the same BP's in the New environment (ECC 6.0 EHP5 and EP 7.0 EHP2 {7.02}).
If anyone has idea on this, Please let me know is it possible or any modifications to be done ?

Well i would recommend to use lates BP cause lot has changed from ECC 500 to ECC 600
and they wont be supported and you ll definately get support mismatch here

enhancement package 7 for SAP ERP 6.0) -> Business Functions in SAP ERP -> Enterprise

Upgrade from ECC 6.0 to NW 7.10

Hi,
I'm trying to plan ahead for our upcoming hardware replacement (3 yr lease). We are also planning for an ECC 6.0 upgrade from 4.7 Enterprise (unicode). I know that the power 6 chip has a built in decimal floating point processing which I believe will be useable with Netweaver 7.10.
Is the upgrade from ECC 6.0(a NW7.00 product?) to NW 7.10 a full upgrade or is it more like a big hot pack?
The reason I'm interested is that I would like to think I could take advantage of the Decimal Floating point processor sooner than later. The other part of the equation is that we have a BI based on NW 7.00 now.
If I can avoid purchasing another i5OS and paying for a processor activation because there is now a math feature built into the processor , I'm all for it. I would like to start planning now if the upgrade to 7.10 isn't going to be too painful.

From what I heard, there would not be another major ECC release in the near future. New functions have been and will be released in "Enhancement packages" - hopefully it is not another new term to you...
NetWeaver 7.1 has been released (Q3 2007? not Q3 2008 for sure). BI folks might know whether there will be a release 7.1 or not.
