Right transmission medium and communication in output determination

Hello Gurus,
I defined a new output type for shipping, wrote a requirement, but I don't know which transmission medium should I define in the output type and the right communication definition in the condition records.
I need this output to execute a program that calls a "proxy to file" method (interface).
Each transmission medium I used caused me a dump, so eather the program the ABAPer gave me is wrong, or my definition is wrong.
Regards,
Daphna

Apologies for previous response.
General for these kind of requirement. it could be either 1-Send with periodically scheduled job & 2-Send with job, with additional time specification as Dispatch time with either 5(External Send) or 6(EDI) or 7(simple mail) as Transmission Medium.
Don't forget to maintain relevant communication strategy, say, WEBM-Send external mail in communication method.
Regards
JP

  • TRANSMISSION MEDIUM AND FORM ROUTINE IN CASE OF NACE TRANSACTION

While saving a invoice, I have created a routine which will pick an output type when a certain condition is met.
A custom report (Zprogram) needs to be triggered automatically during this invoice save. So we need to attach this Zprogram to output type.
Could anybody tell me the transmission medium to be selected and also what needs to be entered in the field Form routine for this program which I have created in the transaction NACE->V3(Billing)->Output types->Processing routines?
    Thanks in advance.

    HI Shah,
Form routine is nothing but a sub routine in your Z program (Driver Program). Simply one driver program can be used in multiple Layouts by using Form routines. If you are using the driver program only for one layout, then the routine declaration is not necessary.
Simply select the transmission medium as Print out in case of print. Special function means whether you want trigger this form for only Bill-to-party or Ship-to-party etc.. I hope you need to maintain as SH or BP, check with your functional people once.
You can check the below link for further customization reference.

  • Communication medium and communication method

    Hello,
Please someone please explain to me the difference between a communication medium and a communication method...
For example, the communication medium e- mail is the one that I choose in the channels tab on the marketing planner, how do the communication method I assign to this communication medium affect the procedure? and how do a transaction I assign to this communication method affect the procedure too.
    thanks for you're replays
    Iris

    Hi Iris,
Each communication medium consists of one or more communication methods together with a priority that you assign to a communication method.
    Example
You could create the communication medium Phone/E-mail/Fax. The description you use is down to you, but for ease of use, it makes sense to name the communication medium according to the communication methods it contains. The communication method defines the means by which business partners belonging to a target group are informed about the content of a campaign (by E-mail, mail, fax,...).

  • Output determination for PR, RFQ, Contracts

    Hello,
I want the detailed stepwise procedure for the output determination of PR, RFQ, Quotation Comparison and Contracts in SAP. I have to first check the std printout and then customize it as per clients requirement. Quick response would be very much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Prasanna.

    1.  Check to what extent you can utilize the condition tables included
in the SAP standard system for message control.
    2.  If you want to create a new condition table, proceed as follows:
        -   Enter the name of the table you want to create. Note that you can only choose names between 501 and 999.
        -   If you are creating without referencing, enter the table category (e.g. pool table) for the condition table.
        -   Enter a description (title) for the condition table.
        -   From the list of allowed fields, choose the desired fields for the condition table.
        -   Generate the new condition table.
        -   Define the new condition tables.
    3.  Enter the condition tables in the access sequences ( The access sequence is a search strategy by means of which the SAP
system searches for valid message records.)
This way, you establish the link between message condition, access sequence and message record.
    4. define a message type, you must enter the following:
    Message type
Alphanumeric key of up to 4 characters, uniquely identifying a
    message type.
    Access sequence
    Key for the access sequence.
    Description
    Text describing the message type.
Detail data (only the most important data is described):
    -   Transmission medium
One-character numeric key determining the type of message processing (e.g. printout, transmission as fax or e-mail).
    -   Time-spot
One-character numeric key defining the point in time at which message processing takes place (e.g. immediately a document is
saved or with the next selection run).
    -   Partner role
         Partner role defining the recipient.
    -   Condition access
Indicator allowing you to specify that the default value for the relevant message is to be determined using the condition
The values entered in the detail data for transmission medium, time-spot, and partner role are automatically adopted as default
values when a message record of the relevant message type is created.
Set up fine-tuned control for each message type
For each type of message you create, you must specify the operations for which it is to be used.
For example: New (original) output, output of change notices, or output of urging messages (expediters).
First choose "Perform function" and then "Purchasing document ->
Purchase order -> Messages -> Fine-tuned control". You must do this for all purchasing documents.
    5. Define your message determination schemas and assign them to the relevant purchasing documents.
A message determination schema contains the permissible message types for each message application (new printout, reminder, etc.). This allows the system to automatically suggest the associated messages as defaults in purchasing documents.
Only one schema and only one message type can be assigned to each purchasing document.
    6. Specify which partner roles are allowed for the message type in connection with each individual purchasing document.

  • Error in output determination via collective billing VF06

    Hi,
We are facing error in output determination when collective billing is done. Multiple Orders numbers are entered in VF06 and processed to generate billing documents. VF06, which is used for batch billing, creates a batch job which internally calls VF04 to do this. For some of the invoices generated from the documents, we do not have anything in the Output, i.e. when we open the invoices in VF03 and go to Goto->Header ->Output, nothing appears.
Say out of the 5 documents, 2 should have output determined and 3 do not. Then we see that it appears for either of the 2 or does not appear at all.
This does not happens when the documents are processed one by one in VF04. We have to do collective billing and generate one invoice for each document. The condition records are also maintained correctly.
    Regards,
    Tarun

Go to some of the invoices on which no output has appeared in change mode and do a output determination analysis in Go to Header-Output and then Ouptut Determinatino analysis.
Please do this analysis for atleast 10 problamatic invoices. This will give yousome insight into the problem

  • Output determination for sales documents

    Hi experts,
I created an output type, copied from AN00, assigned it to an output determination procedure and assigned them both to my order type in V/43 and all is working fine.
I now need another output type for the same order type.  So I have created a new output type and a new output determination procedure.  However, the two new items I have created do not appear in V/43 and I do not know how to add them on.
Would anybody be able to offer a solution to my problem ?
    Thanks
    John

Well if you need two output types for the same sales order why do you want different two different output determiation procedures.V/43 is for determination of output procedure for the sales documents
Assign the new output type in the same output procedure procedure as step 2. like you maintain condition type in  the pricing procedure and maintain the condition records in VV11. Now run the sales order. This will solve your querry.
    Reward points!!!!!!!!
    Thanks,
    Kamal
