Right way to insert graph or chart from Word document?

I have a content given in word format. I place the document to indesign using Place command. All content is put except the graph / chart.
That graph/chart is linked to source data in excel that I don't have access to.
I manually copy paste from word it resulted as non editable raster image.
I can't paste to Illustrator first too.
I have searched the forum but doesn't get a right answer.
Any help would be appreciated.

I finally got the excel files. I could copy paste the chart to illustrator, the results was vector line. Only sadly the data label appear error (screenshot attached)

There is o extractor to load assessment cycles; instead you can load dtaa after the assesment cycle is complte in R/3. You can schdeule the job in BW accordingly.

  • Converting chart from Word for Mac to Pages

In converting a two page chart from Word for Mac to Pages, only page 1 converts. But because of the way I built the chart, I can't cut and paste one page at a time from Word and then convert. Word insists on selecting both pages. Anyone have an idea short of redoing the chart from scratch in Pages?

I'm not sure I follow you. Did you try copying the data from the chart in Word and paste it into the chart editor for a new chart in Pages?

  • How to copy paste a table structure from word document into Text Field [field format Rich Text]

In our current implementation we have a Blank page with Text Field [field format Rich Text] on generated PDF Document.
Once the PDF document is generated, user can copy paste content form any word/rtf document to into the Text Field.
Pasted content retains all text formatting [Bold, Italic, Underline, Indentation] except the Table format. Text Field is removing table metadata from the content and converting it into plant text.
Is there anyway to copy paste table structure as it is from word document into Text Field?

    Hi,
I don't think you can! While you can paste formatted text into the rich text field, the table metadata means nothing to the textfield.

  • Creating Post Script File from Word Document

Hi How to create a Ps File from Word document.. Is there any api to do this ?
    ~Arjun

    (1) It is
    PostScript, not
    Post Script or
    Ps!
    (2) To create PostScript from a Microsoft Word document, you simply open such a document in Microsoft Word and print to a PostScript printer driver instance, but chose the
Print to file option. Note that since PostScript from drivers is device-dependent, you do need to choose a PostScript printer driver instance very carefully based on a PPD that has few device dependencies.

  • Creative Way to Post Front/Block Diagram in Word Document

    Hello,
Does anyone have a creative way to post Front/Block Diagram in Word Document in the same calibre as if I used SNAPIT.
    Thanks in advance.

You can use the report generation VIs (you should have a palette of them) to do this. If you want another way, have a look at the VI posted here.

  • Importing Testcases from Word Document

I want to import testcase form Word Document document to MTM tool. Are there any tools available for acheving this?
The testcases table to import is not getting recognosed when I tried with "Test Case Migrator Plus".
Able to import if the testcases are stored in excel. However, the entry stroke in a same cell is getting created as new test step. i.e New test steps is getting added in MTM tool if test step is written with a line break in excel.
Any help on this would be great.

    Hello.
    Glad to receive your reply.
    Based on this link: http://tcmimport.codeplex.com/,
test Case Migrator Plus tool allows test related artifacts, present in Excel and MHT/Word formats, to be imported into Team Foundation Server.
I think that it support importing test cases from Word format into TFS. Then you can run those test cases in MTM.
As I mentioned in my previous reply,
Except Test Case Migrator Plus, and I don’t find any other tools which support this kind of import.
If you get issues when you use “Test Case Migrator Plus” to import test case from Word Document to TFS, you can start a discussion onhttp://tcmimport.codeplex.com/discussions
    for better response.

  • Importing Tables from Word Documents

I have a new job where the majority of my colleagues are PC users and we must work on common documents. I have no problem saving documents as a word file and opening word documents. But I have had some issues with Tables coming from a word document. I looked on the forum and learned about inline tables but I have been unable to take a table from a .doc file and change it to an inline table. Basically when the page ends, the table stops, even when there is more text. It is making it really frustrating for work as I have been copying and pasting the text from the table into a new document to edit it and then replacing the new text with the old. Can anyone help me figure out how to see the text in tables from word documents??
    Thanks,
    Amber

It would be more efficient to use the true Office or one of the free clones: openOffice & neoOffice.

  • Read equations from word document programatically

    hi
its too difficult to problem i think but soluation is there.
i want to read equations from word document using java. i was tried in xml prser also ,there i can 't find the equation format.
any body tell me how to extract equation from word .

Everyone that has posted that you have 2 problems is absolutly correct, you will have to use some 3rd party product to read the file, or make your own MS-Word decoder--a task for which MS itself has problems doing reliably between versions. You could set up some DDE or OLE via Java/C and Excel... have fun it that is your choosen path, you'll want to talk to them in the JNI forum on how to get started there.
As far as parsing, you have to be able to identify the formula, is it an Excel formula? If so, then you have to be able to copy the formula, it does not show as text in cells. If it is not a formula, but just text in a cell, then copy it into a String in Java.
Now you have the String, use String.split or other tokenizer to break the String appart, and then you have to process the tokens. Nobody here is going to write the front end of an interpreter for you to process your sting into appropriat logic and tokens.
The task you embark on is not one of triviality, but can be done. The real question is: "Is it really worth it to you?" Only you can answer that. If you need refernce material for parsing--look up discussions of language, compiler, and interpreter development--most of the ones I've run across have excellent discussions on parsing and tokenizing.

  • My computer somehow restarted then deleted all my progress from Word documents. Is there any way to get these documents back without purchase of a data recovery software?

Recently when I open my Mac the screen stays black until I press the start button a few times. Usually at this point it's in sleep mode. This time, however, the computer restarted completely, losing any word documents that I had left open prior. Is there any way I can recover these files without a purchase of a data recovery software? I've tried looking in the 'recent' tab, but it didn't save anything I have done in the last week, and finals are this coming week. Please help!

If the system just Restarted on it's own, Shut down while you were working on something then started back up all those changes, edits, you had done in that app, document, are gone.

  • Link to SSRS chart from Word

    HI,
I want to open word 2010 and have a chart that is linked to SSRS in the word document.
    I am trying several things.
    Any ideas?
    thanks
    David

    Hi David,
According to your description, you want to display a SSRS linked chart in a Word. Then you get an error message “This page might not function correctly because either your browser does not support scripts or active scripting is disabled” when you follow
    the methods of two articles.
In this scenario, the reason why you get this error is using access URL with incorrect format. We must use the web services URL to access a report. And we should add “rc:Toolbar=False” command in the URL because we need javascript to display the style of
toolbar. Word can’t display a javascript based toolbar so that it throw above error message. Please make sure you follow the URL format in those two articles strictly when you add the chart report in Word.
We have tested your case in our local environment using a sample chart report. Please refer to the URLs and results below:
If we follow the steps as this article mentioned(Incorporating Reporting Services Reports in Word and PowerPoint ), we
should change the URL to the corresponding URL Access like this:
    http://Hostname /ReportServer?%2fReport+Project10.28%2fchart1&rs:Command=Render&rc:Toolbar=False.
If we follow the steps as this article mentioned(Refreshable Reports in Word, PowerPoint, Excel), we should change the URL to the corresponding
    URL Access like this:
    http://Hostname /ReportServer?%2fReport+Project10.28%2fchart1&rs:Command=Render&rs:Format=IMAGE&rc:OutputFormat=PNG.
The report will render as an image.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Inserting Multiple Page PDF in Word Document

I've been searching for an answer to what I thing ought to be a rather simple question and I can find nothing. I have a couple of users who have attempted to insert a multiple page PDF into a Word document and found that only the first page of the PDF
shows up in their document. Is there any method to insert multiple page PDFs into Word as multiple pages without splitting the PDF into individual single page files and inserting individually?
    Thanks...Ray

A quick and dirty way to do this is to open the pdf document in question with word separately.   You get the following warning message.
I can then select all and copy/paste in to my word document.
The few pdfs I tried this with pretty much turned in to all images when I did this, but it worked my purposes.
I did end up having to resize one that didn't seem to want to fit when I pasted it in.  There may be a method to select an image and automatically fit it within the margins of the page it is on that would help that.
The file size on my resulting word document seemed to grow quite a bit as well.  Again, not really an issue in my case though.

You are on the Illustrator forum how does this relte to illustrator?
Are you ceating artwork in Illustrator and then inserting it into Word?
This is what I suggest Visit the Acrobat Forum or a Microsoft Word forum if there is one and ask there.
Or you can purchase ID or Illustrator and use them to create your letterhead.
