RIM Purchased Torch 9810 will not do HSPA / HAPA+

I have been calling Rogers, searching the net for some answer on why my phone will only do 3G.
Under the mobil network settings I have 3 options "2G", "3G", "3G & 2G"  No H or H+ options.
This was the same with the original rom provided with the phone 7.0.???, and with the 7.1 release.
I am not sure if certain fetures are turned off becuase it has a Vendor ID of 612.  (I am not sure if those carriers actually support H/H+.
When I run a Diagnostic test, I have the following:
Radio Access: UMTS
Network: Rogers
I have verfied this from many locations withing Ottawa, Canada which Rogers supports HSPA+
If I cannot use H+ due to the Vendor Id I would be very disappointed.  I am hoping that someone can explain this, or even better have a solution.

Hello srissman and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Did you purchase your BlackBerry from Rogers directly or from another source and unlocked it for usage on Rogers?
If it was unlocked, then this would explain why you aren't getting the HSPA network as network availability is determined by each mobile carrier and the software on the device. Since the device isn't branded to Rogers you can't install software from Rogers to the device which would be needed to use all supported features of the carrier network.

    You should be able to copy it from your iPhone to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, and if it's compatible with your iPad you can then sync it to it

    hello, normally such issues are caused by a firewall/security software which doesn't recognize & therefore blocks new firefox versions. please try to remove all program rules for firefox in your firewall and let it detect the program again: [[Fix problems connecting to websites after updating Firefox]]

    Kmrnyu, the order placed by you is still under transaction,  the order stands canceled.
    As soon as the order is complete I shall get it canceled & refunded.
    Regarding the account, do you want it to cancel the account? Please confirm.

    What do I do when a purchased game app will not open?

    This won't help you solve the issue - I have the same issue, purchased via the iphone, worked perfectly until I sync'd with the PC then the Apps would not open, after the second sync the App was removed from the Iphone, it is still on the PC but will not put it back on the iphone - I get the message, this account not authorised....etc.
    I have contacted the Apps provider and they say it is not their issue and that I should contact apple. Because of the answers I gave when I 'logged' an issue via my purchase history the Apple response was to contact the Apps provider. Now I cannot log another issue because when I click on the link in my purcahse history is says 'issue already logged'.
    So, how do I contact apple to get it working or for a refund?

    I see a song that I purchased from itunes store and is in my purchased folder but will not sync to my phone.  it has a greyed out hollow circle next to it and it will not play on phone.

    In your summary page scroll all the way down to the bottom and make sure "sync only checked songs and vidoes" is NOT checked. Then go to your music tab to the right of the summary and uncheck music> apply> sync> Re-check sync music> apply> sync.

    Here's a screenshot... it attempts to pull form iCloud but fails... so then moves to the next song after a couple seconds.. other songs that are failing do same.
    Btw, tried deleting all copies form iTunes and iPhone then re-downloading... no love. Same issue (exact same incorrect artwork)!

    In order for the Transfer Purchases to work, you need to be logged into the same iTunes ID on the computer that the purchased content on the iPhone was purchased under:

    On the iPhone, when you purchase a song from the iTunes Store, what iTunes ID are you using?
    If it is the same as the one on the computer, try the following:
    Download the Free Single of the Week from the iTunes Store.
    Play the song in iTunes on the computer.
    Try the "Transfer purchases" option in the Store Menu again.

  • Torch 9810 does not detect USB connection

    The USB menu - you know, with the 3 blue boxes ? - has topped coming up when I plug the cable into my BB Torch. I can't load or download anything because the stupid frickin thing doesn't know it's plugged in. Phone makes the little "doo-doop" noise when I plug the USB cable in, but menu does not come up. Battery charge indicator comes on when I plug into a wall outlet, and th ebattery recharges so I know the port works (it's a 2 month old RIM battery). I've tried all 6 USB ports on my computer, and 3 different USB cables - it's not that. I tried a shutdown/restart, didn't help. I did a hard crash/restart by pulling the battery, didn't work. I'm getting pretty gawdamm fed up. Anybody got any ideas?

    Or ti can be a Administrator issue, it can be a Fire Wall or Antivirus issue.

  • BlackBerry Torch 9800 Will NOT turn on PLEASE HELP

    My phone went black today and will not turn back on.. I have taken out the battery and the sim card, when i put them back in the red light at the top just flashes and nothing comes on the screen. I have tried to boot it by charging it and hooking it up to the computer. The BlackBerry desktop manager says it can not connect to the phone. PLEASE HELP

    Is this a 9800 you're talking about? Reading your post, this is actually the 4th time that you've had this happen, with 3 different phones, correct?
    When you talk about "reloading this and uploading that", are you talking about reloading the OS, or applications? I'm wondering if there's a particular application you're loading that's causing it.
    While I'm sure there are faulty 9800s out there, and I've had a few myself (among 80 users), I find it hard to believe that you could end up with three faulty ones in a row. Are you able to get the battery charged somewhere, just to be sure it's not just a dead flat battery? It might be that you've got an application that's flattening your battery to the point where the phone can't start, even on the charger.

    Music that I have purchased from iTunes syncs perfectly to the iPhone (3GS) but the music from my library that was not purchased from iTunes (burned from a CD) will show up in the iPhone music list but does not have any artwork nor will it play that music!  Currently my solution has been to delete the defunct music from the iPhone and recopy it from iTunes.  The music will then play but the artwork is missing.  This is a rather irritating problem.  Is anyone else having this issue?  If so, any are any other solutions?  Thanks!

    I have just noticed that I am missing songs since I upgraded to iOS5.  In some cases the art work is there and the length of the song is there but it will not play.  I'm going to try and resync when I get home.  I'll have to check to see if the songs still exist in my iTunes???  Nothing is ever easy is it??
