Ring Tones/Alerts stopped working

My ring tones & alerts have stopped working. I only get the vibration. When I go to "Sounds" and try to reset ring tones, I get the following error message: "Invalid ring tone selected, please make another selection!" That happens no matter what ring tone or alert I try.

Pull the battery and let the device restart. Try it again and see if it works better. Let us know.

I've have iOS 6 for months. Out of the blue my text alerts stopped working. I've rebooted a few times to no avail. All settings look right. And everything else seems to be working proper.

Diesel I tend to agree with you there! All other sounds do work and I have the "glass" tone choosen for texting. I was all working fine with the new ios6 which I've had for months. since all other sounds work, I'll be heading to the genius bar at my local apple store. Now if only I'd taken that apple care ....LOL oh well

Ring tone doesn't work

I have a apple 4. After repair everything seems working apart from the ring tone who doesn't work, the vribreur seems working though. The control vocal is sometimes going wild and start calling all my contacts. What is the problem?

Check the below and follow the steps -

In the contact list, highlight a contact.
2.
Press the Menu
key.
3.
Click Edit.
4.
In the Custom Ring Tones/Alerts section, perform one of the following actions:
To assign a ring tone to phone calls that you receive from
the contact, click Phone.
To assign a ring tone to messages that you receive from the
contact, click Messages.
5.
Set the ring tone information.
6.
Press the Menu
key.
7. Click Save.

HT4528 I pulled my iPhone out of the docking station/speakers and now the ring tones don't work. Anyone know a fix for this?

Does anyone know if there is a fix for iPhone 4S when you pull it out of the docking station and now the ring tones don't work -- it only vibrates.

Basic troubleshooting of the device is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Has any of this been tried?
Do other sounds work?
Have you checked to see if the dock connector or headphone jack have debris in them?

Message Alert tone/ringtone stopped working?

My iPhone's message alert tone/ringtone has stopped working. My iphone4 firmware has been upgraded
to 5.1.1. i've also reset the phone, but it didn't resolve the issue. Pls. Help... thanks...

My alerts sounds work briefly after a restart. Then at some point (can't say how much time passes with certainty) they no longer work. The volume adjustment sound is gone as well as the alert sounds such as an incoming mail message.
A restart temporarily returns the sounds. I've zapped PRAM but that doesn't solve the problem.

My custom alerts stopped working.

For some time now without issue I have been using rintones and text tones I created with garage band. The last week or so, they stopped working. The odd time one will work. Under settings for my contacts, nothing has changed. I even tried to reset the custom alerts to the contacts and also did a reset (not sure if I did hard or soft reset [home and power button]. If you have any advice, please help.
I am using iphone 4s with software 7.0.4

There is only one kind of reset on an iPhone. It's just called a "reset" and you do it by pressing and holding the Home and power buttons until the silver apple appears.
I'd try resyncing the tones from iTunes.

After 3.0.1, ringer & key clicks stop working! HELP!

After upgrading my 3GS yesterday, my ringer, key clicks, calendar alerts, just stopped working. I've to reset the phone but they still don't working. Vibrate feature still works when I turn down volume of ringer. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I wish to nominate myself for the "Idiot of the Day" award. I just called Apple tech support and as it turns out, some time after my upgrade yesterday, I managed to turn off all sounds with the switch that is right above the volume control. Yes, I am an idiot. But the day is young, let's see if anyone else can top this.

After updating to ios5 my previously purchased ring tones don't work.

After updating to ios 5 my ring tones show only the default ones on my phone.
In Itunes it shows up, I have synced a number of times but the ring tone never shows up on the phone.

I couldn't get it to start at first. Then I found a forum that hade other issues with plugin and firefox 4 where the solution was to start firefox 4 in 32 bit mode and not in 64bit mode. After that it works nice for me.
It might also be useful to change the setting for the time that scripts are allowed to run.
dom.max_script_run_time should be set to higher number than 80 according to the support.

Ebay alerts stopped working (cha-ching for sold item)

My ebay alerts (bid alerts and the cha-ching when an item sells) has stopped working, Ive tried down loading all the updates etc but still no joy,
Ive also checked all the settings but still nothing!
Help??

If you have an Apple Store (or a Premium re-seller) near you, you can take it in for examination. Whether there will be a charge for that, I don't know.
Best line of approach would be to ask for a formal quotation to repair the item. As it is out of warranty, any repair work would be chargeable but asking for the quote will avoid someone just doing the work ... and presenting you with an unacceptable bill.

Reminder alerts stopped working

My reminder alerts have stopped working on my iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.1 The reminders appear on the screen but no sound or vibration happen.

I understand you are not being alerted by sound or vibration when a reminder shows up on your lock screen. I would suggest taking a look at the attached article and make sure that the sounds are turned on.

Sms Tone just stopped working (X6)

So all of a sudden the sms tone on my x6 stopped playing when i recieve texts.
im using the same profile as usual, the same tone.
ive tried to restart the phone,
ive tried to remove the battery for a while
i tried to change to different profiles, where all tones works as usual except the sms tone,
ive tried different tones,
also its an original tune and not a downloaded one so.
and while writing i just noticed its actually messing with the blinking menubutton aswell from time to time. Any suggestions?
i want to save the hard reset as a last resort since im guessing that will clear all stuff i have on my phone.

how could clearing my inbox possibly be "most likely the cause" ? or well, dont even tell me, its not like i will understand anyway...
but i gave it a try, deleted about 4000 texts in my inbox
didnt bother with the sent folder since x6 only saves the 20 last sent.
but surprisingly this solved my problem, im really glad that i went here b4 i made a hard reset, also i really appreciate you took your time to help me out.

SCEP Email Alerts Stopped Working in SCCM 2012 R2

System Center 2012 R2 alerts for SCEP have stopped sending emails upon an infection. Some infections, not all, are still being reported under the monitoring tab but an email is no longer sent. I have tried to test with the EICAR test files and
nothing was reported under monitoring. I tested the email through SCCM and it is working.
This happened once before and I deleted the subscription and added it back to get it working again. This time, no luck. Any help is appreciated.

Performance monitor counter alert stops working during run

I've created a counter alert whenever the processing time of a specific process falls below a certain threshold, so that a email would be sent to me through task scheduler. I had tested the set up by turning off the process and checking to see whether performance
monitor would trigger an alert (it did). Then I let the counter run continuously. After several days, I noticed that the process had froze, but the counter did not trigger an alert even though performance was clearly below the threshold I had set. It doesn't
look like the counter had stopped running either during this time. Why wasn't an alert triggered? Is it not possible to run a counter continuously?

Firstly, would you please tell us which performance counter you have chosen? Is it Process\%Processor time?
In addition, which kind of alert have you configured, to log in the event log or send emails?
Process\% Processor
Time is the percentage of elapsed time that all of process threads used the processor to execution instructions. You can try to turn off the process which is frozen now to see if you will receive the alert.
Besides, what is the meaning of “run
a counter continuously”? Did you set any stop conditions?

Alerts stopped working

There is a problem with my alerts as they quit working after a year. This is really a problem with the quality of the Motorola phone in my estimation. I need an upgrade to a phone that will work all the time with notifications.

Let's get your alerts working! What model Motorola do you have and what alerts are you speaking of? Usage alerts? Messaging? Also, when did this begin?

I phone 5 message tone randomly stops working

Exactly what the subject says. The message ringtone is working and all of a sudden you get a txt msg and you no longer hear the sound only vibration (my message sound option is set up for ringtone and vibration). I have to restart the phone to get the message sound back. Any suggestions?

Same thing with me -- Only since I got the 5. Really annoying
