Ringtone colum not showing up

I hope someone can assist. I have downloaded the updated software, but I do not see the ring tone column or check box even when I go to view, view options and look for it. I am logged in and I am doing this from the itunes.
I also sorted the songs from advanced search by ring tone and bought a ring tone, still nothing. It seems people have mentioned a user agreement that needs to be installed/accepted hw do I get this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Deborah...I hope this is a little more clearer...Just make sure you are in your Music Library on iTunes. Go to View, View Options and check the ringtone box. If it is not showing...you will need to go to the Store and re-authorize your computer, this will not affect anything other then allowing your current iTunes to access ringtones. One other thing...on your main screen, make sure that you have space at the end of your selections when you add the ringtone column. When checked it will put it to the extreme right and you may not see the column unless you reduce the size of some of your other columns.
If this is not clear enough or does not work...let me know what you did and what the results were and we will troubleshoot further.
Good Luck

  • HT201272 I updated my IPhone and it took away all music including my ring tones. I have been able to recover the songs but my ringtones are not showing under purchased. How do I get my ringtones back?

I updated my phone and all my music, including rigntones went away. I was able to recover my songs under purchased. My ringtones are not showing under purcahsed. How do I get my ringtones back?

I don't understand this answer. What do you mean " your contacts should be in whatever program/service you have selected to sync."? The address book is created on the phone not in Itunes or any other program/service. When Itunes says backing up phone I have to assume it backs up everything on the phone. Most of what's on my phone does not come out of itunes. I download apps directly on the phone. When the software updates it does not bring those apps back. I have to go into the appstore and install them all over again. Itunes music library syncs with whatever is on the device your linked up to BUT the phone book just dissappears after you update the phone. There is no way to save it anywhere else.

  • My purchased ringtones are not showing up on my iTunes account?! Where are they??

The screen on my laptop has an internal crack so im using my mom's laptop for now. When I connected my iPhone to the computer, I couldn't do anything without syncing my phone which meant everything got erased! I wasn't too upset because I backed up everything on iCloud. Well for some reason, it didn't back up anything and I lost all my media. No biggie. I added most of the songs and apps back. I tried to add the ringtones I've purchased from iTunes but they're not showing up under the "purchased" section of my iTunes account. I don't know why they're not showing up. It's at least 20 ringtones that I've purchased at $1.29 each! Please help!!

I purchased three ringtones on my iPhone 5. They installed quickly and I was easily able to assign them to contacts. The next time I connected my iPhone to iTunes on my computer the ringtones disappeared from my iPhone. They were still showing in iTunes ringtones section on my computer. They showed up on my iTunes accounts page as being purchased too. I tried everything suggested on the forums to get my purchased ringtones to show on my phone again, with no success.
I started trying different things out of desperation and finally lucked upon a solution. I opened iTunes on my computer. Under the Library section I opened Tones (left side of screen same section as music, movies, etc.). When the tones section opened it showed my three ringtones. I dragged the three ringtones to the desktop. I then deleted the three ringtones from the tones menu. It asked if I wanted to delete them from iTunes completely or just from the tones section. I chose to delete them from the tones section only. Once they were deleted From the tones section i went back to the desktop and dragged the three ringtones from the desktop back to the tones section. The computer automatically synced to my phone and VIOLA! the three ringtones appeared on my iPhone again.
Extra suggestion. I have been using an app from the iTunes Store named Ringtone Maker Pro. It takes songs from my iTunes library and converts them to ringtones. It does a great job. There is a video attached that shows exactly what to do step by step.
    Hope this helps.

  • Ringtone option not showing up.   what gives?

I'm having a weird issue in the new version of iTunes where my laptop shows the Ringtone feature,
but my desktop (with the same version of the software) does not. Though Ringtone shows
up in the View Options on my laptop, it does not show up in View Options on my desktop.
Same version of software, different computers, different results.
I suspect it has something to do with doing the firmware update for the iPhone on
the laptop? I've re-installed 7.4.2 on my desktop and ringtones don't show up
anywhere - under view options or anything.
Anyone else having a similar issue? Any advice?
    Thanks much.

Log on to the iTunes store using your desktop and try again. It will then be in your view options.

  • Ringtone file not showing up in itunes

when i open itunes, the file where ringtones goes on the top, next to apps, movies, or music, does not show up. how do i get or create a file for ringtones so that i can sync with my iphone?

Open Edit > Preferences > General tab, make sure Tones (formerly Ringtones) is ticked.
This label changed with iTunes 10.5.1.42 which also changes the folder used to store Tones in the media folder.

  • Purchased songs on iPhone with ringtone options, not showing up as so

I purchased some songs on iphone last night. This morning while looking at the same songs in the iTunes store these SAME songs from the SAME album show that there is an option to make them into ringtones. But when I synced the songs purchased on my phone to my itunes on my mac, the ringtone options are not showing up. I have the column checked to show ringtone availability on my itunes but the bell icon is not showing up in the column like it is in the iTunes store for these songs. Please Help.

Right click on the song in your library and choose create ringtone. It will bring you to iTunes to make one. If it is not allowed, then not much I can say from there. I find the icons in ones own library are never accurate. Sort of like it scanned once, but won't again.

  • Ringtones are not showing in iPhone ringtone folder.

I just bought a ringtone and it shows up in my iTunes ringtones folder, it even shows up in the iphone ringtones folder ON iTUNES, but I can't seem to get the ringtone to show up in the iPhone itself. Anyone know what's wrong? I live in California, so its not that foreign country problem I keep hearing about.

I am having the same problem! I make my ringtones on Audiko.net and download them directly to my iTunes. They play in my iTunes and appear in my ringtones folder, but when I got to sync the ringtones to my iPhone, they don't show up! The error msg says something about not being able to locate the file, yet i can see it clear as day in iTunes, it plays, and when i close iTunes and opem it again, it is still there. I have used Audiko.net before to make ringtones, and have seen that error msg before, but it never caused an issue - my ringtones would always sync. I have it programmed to automatically sync to sync everything in my iTunes, the phone is not jailbroken, is registered and is up to date. Please help! I don't know what to do.

  • Ringtone option not showing up for certain songs in itunes

Ok, so some of my songs that I purchased on itunes are now ringtone eligible and the bell isn't showing up in my itunes. I have the most up to date version of itunes. I don't understand why a song that I have purchased in the last month that originally wasn't ringtone capable, but now is, itunes isn't giving me the option to make it a ringtone. Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Help!!!

There has been a bug reported in iTunes with bell symbols disappearing...it happened to me once a couple weeks ago.
Right click on the song in your that you think is ringtone-capable and select "Create Ringtone". If the song really is ringtone-capable, it will open the ringtone creation window. If it's not ringtone-capable, you'll get an error message.

But I cannot acess it. it remains a grey colour. My phone doesnot reconize and no acess through iphone general >soound etc.

    Hey khdewey,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues with your iPod touch being recognized in iTunes on your Mac. The following resource may provide a solution:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1591
Note: This article is for Mac OS X users. If you're using a Windows PC, please refer to these troubleshooting suggestions.
Follow these steps to resolve your issue:
    1. Ensure that your Mac meets the minimum system requirements for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
    2. Install software updates on your Mac.
Note: If an iTunes update is available, apply the update.
    3. Check USB connections. iOS devices require USB 2.0 to function properly. If you're not sure your Mac has USB 2.0 ports, refer to the computer's specifications.
    4. Disconnect other USB devices and connect your device directly to a USB port on your Mac.
    5. Restart your Mac.
    Additional Information
In rare circumstances, your device may be recognized after reinstalling iTunes, but after you restart your Mac, the device may not be recognized again. If this happens and you're using Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard, please follow these steps.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Ringtones lost--not showing up at all in library. Can they be retrieved?

After switching pc's and having numerous email problems on my iphone resulting in deleting the account a few times, all of my ringtones are now gone. The songs are still in my library, but nothing under the ringtones tab. Is there any way to get them back? Does Itunes have a record of my purchases so that I could recreate them and not be charged again as long as I use the same songs/sounds? Any help would be appreciated! Dana

Since you switched pc's you need to get that ringtone file onto your new pc and then add to iTunes. You did back up your music...right? Apple does keep a file of what you downloaded and in extreme cases(their fault) they will give you a credit to download that particular file again. But for the most part, you cannot download lost music simply because you switched pcs. That's why it is imperative that music and all files are backed up on external drives, CD-Rs, DVD+Rs, etc.

  • Ringtone  icon not showing up in my Itunes 7.4.

Downloaded 7.4 this morning expecting to buy ringtones but the ringtone icon in itunes isnt there. When i sync my phone the ringtones tab is there but i have no way to make my ringtones? Anyone have the same problem or how i can fix it? I Restarted and even re downloaded it and still no luck.

Forget all that talk about even seeing the ringtones in iTunes store. I am getting the feeling that the entire feature once it works will only be for "ringtone enabled" songs purchased from iTunes. Like some kind of DRM or other tech encoded into the track. Meaning that one can not take either a song they already own, or even some piece of music, sound, or perhaps something one even records using say the built in mic on a macbook and then enable their own ringtone from that. Wouldn't that be the whole point? Not to make it so that the only way to get custom ring tones is to buy something. Seems anti-apple's "empowering creatives" mantra to the core.
Please someone tel me I'm wrong, and that this is not a sign that since Apple Computer became Apple Inc. they switched from empowering people to be creative on their own, to make it so the only way people can get what they want is to please Apple stock owners with increased sales, bottom line, etc.

  • Ringtone Not Showing Up in iPhone

I purchased a song from iTunes. Utilized the 'Create Ringtone' tool within iTunes and purchased the ringtone. I synched the phone with my computer. The 'Ringtone' folder in my Library and on my iPhone both show the new ringtone which I created so it seems as though it was synched correctly. However the ringtone does not show up on my iPhone under Settings>Sounds>Ringtone. Just the standard out-of-box ringtones are there.
The ringtone is under 30 seconds. Manually synch ringtones is unchecked. I am baffled by this one. I synched the phone multiple times. What am I missing? I thought I was pretty savvy at the iPhone but this is my first custom ringtone so I guess I have a lot to learn.

Were these ringtones purchased or created via exporting to a 40 second clip? To play them on your phone they must be less than 30 seconds AND in AAC format with a .m4r extension. Technically you can create a ringtone from any song in your library by doing this. In file info of th song change the start and stop time to any :30 second...or less... Time and follow the preceding steps.
    Good luck.

  • Ringtones not showing up in my iTunes

The songs that I've downloaded that I know can be converted into ringtones are not showing up in the ringtone column in my iTunes (yes, I have 'show ringtones' selected in the 'view options' folder). When ringtones was first offered, everything worked welll but for some reason, the past 2-3 weeks I cannot seem to get them to show up. Currebtly running windows/office 2007. Suggestions?

    pingbrad,
You can try unchecking the ringtone option in the View >View Options and clicking 'OK.' Then go back in and try checking it again. See if the songs update and show the ringtone symbol next to them. If you still do not see a ringtone icon for a song that should be capable, try right-clicking on the song to see if it will allow you to make a ringtone out of it.
    Hope this helps,
    Jennifer B.

  • HT203167 I just purchased an IPhone4S.   My purchased ringtones did not transfer.   How do I find them?

How do I find previously purchased ringtones?   I just bought a new IPhone and the ringtones do not show up in my purchased history.

They will only be where you put them.
You should have transferred them from your old iphone to your computer.  From there you could sync them to your new iphone.

  • HT201272 I downloaded sveral ringtones and they are not showing up in my purchased items.   I had to wipe out my phone so they are not on there anymore.  Please, any advice would be appreciated!

I recently had to wipe out my phone and lost everything!  I have been able to recover all apps, pics, songs.  Lost alot of my contacts due to me not backing up my info to icloud more often.  (my mistake)  However, I cant find any of my purchased ringtones.  They are not showing up in my purchase history on itunes either.  I do have the receipts for all of them tho.
Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated!

Ringtones are currently a one-time only download, they won't appear under the Purchased tab nor in the cloud. Have you got copies of them in the Tones section of your computer's iTunes library or in the backup of your downloads that you can use to re-sync them to your phone ? If not, and they are still in the store, then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then try selecting Purchases, Billing & Redemption
