  • Ringtone help - "Terms of Service" wont come up when prompted

I have a couple purchased songs available to be made into ringtones already in my library, when i click the bell next to them i get a pop-up message that reads:
"Go to the iTunes Store Terms of Service
In order to purchase ringtones, you must review and accept the iTunes Store Terms of Service. Click OK to go to the iTunes Store Terms of Service."
So I click "OK" and....nothing happens. I've tried re-starting my iTunes, I've tried to manually find the terms of service (which I HAVE found, but it's just lead to a webpage that lists them out...nowhere to click and accept.) I have all current system updates downloaded and installed.
Basically every time I click the ringtone editor bell, i get this same message and nothing happens when I click "OK". Any ideas/help?
    Thanks in advance!

I found this on a different thread. It worked like a charm! Thanks Waltm!
Okay, I tracked down a solution. It's not in any of Apple's related FAQs (it should).
"I was having the same trouble as those posted here, and finally called iTunes Support. They told me that there is a "TOS loop" that happens on the first purchase of a ringtone from a song that is already in your library (in other words, you are repurchasing the tune to make a ringtone). Here is their work-around:
"Go to the iTunes home page, sign in, and download the FREE Single of the Week. There will be no charge. That will give you the prompt to "Accept the Terms of Service" window, which you should accept and click okay. Now go back to the music library window on your desktop, and select the song you want, and choose Create Ringtone. This time, because you've already purchased a new song for a ringtone, you won't get into the TOS loop, and you should see the WAV box at the bottom, which allows you to select and preview your ringtone, then click buy when you're ready."

  • Ringer volume and/or Message arrive ringtone help

Having issues hearing the phone. Have it turned up and finally had to change the ring tone to the "alarm". This solves the calls, but for SMS, I can not change the volume high enough or the alert tone to be anoying enough. Any help?

Agreed, we need to be able to configure the ringtones for SMS - which ringtone and volume -- and would be nice to be able to set specific ringtones depending on who the message is coming from.

  • I need music/ringtone help for my AT&T Centro.

ok, so i just finnaly found out how to get my mp3's from my computer, to my centro. now i need help on making those mp3's into ringtones. how might i go about doing this?
    Post relates to: Centro (AT&T)

Minitones looks for .mp3 files stored on an expansion (Secure Digital) card.  You'll need to purchase/install a Micro SD card to use it.
There is a pretty clear guide on the Centro (AT&T) support site which describes the built-in capability to convert songs to ringtones.  This thread is stickied at the top of this board.
In short, you can also use the Web browser to convert the files on your SD card.  if you don't have a SD card, you can have someone send you the files with the messaging application as a multimedia message.

  • I am a Garage Band idiot.  Ringtone help wanted !

I only bought iLife '08 b/c my friend told me I can make my own free ringtones from GB. (I am glad i got the iLife because iPhoto is 100% better than it was)..
Anywho, I have no idea how to even begin. I start up Garage Band, and I get those 4 choices, I click New Project, and then what?
All I want to do is drag a song from iTunes into Garage Band, Select a particular verse, and send it back to my iTunes ringtones folder.
Does anyone have the time to explain this to me or a helpful link that shows step by step.
I can tell that there awesome things you can do with G.B., but **** if I know how to do it!
    Thanks alot!!

Okay. This is real easy. What you want to do is, find the actual song file you want to make into a ring tone. You can't just drag and drop thing directly from iTunes into GarageBand. Your iTunes files are found in User/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music.
Once you find the song file you want, just drag it into a new track in GarageBand. Once the file is loaded into GarageBand, you have to select a section of the song not to exceed 40 seconds. After you've made your selection, trim off the unneeded sections of the song. You then need to loop the song. Do this by clicking on the loop tool at the bottom of the GarageBand window. It looks like two curvy arrows. Drag the yellow loop bar thingy that appears at the top of the song so that it extends the full length of your song.
All that's left to do now is select "share" form the Apple menu bar and select "Send Ringtone to iTunes." All done.
Here's a step by step that may cover anything I've missed:

  • Ringtone help needed -- Galaxy 3 - downloaded from VZN and cannot find

Downloaded Ringtones for Samsung Galaxy 3  cannot find on phone. How do I find them and activate them. Did come thru as attachments in a TXT msg from Verizon

FIGURED IT OUT! Not easy to figure out at first.  Also, I see where Verizon's ringtones expire after 12 months, so you may want to manager your finances accordinly...
******Essentially you need to copy it from your dowload folder to a ringtone folder. Then set it as your setting for sound.****
Go to Apps icon --> Choose MY FILES folder icon
    Select file folder called "SDCARD0"...
Select file folder called "DOWNLOAD FOLDER"...the ringtones from Verizon were downloaded in here.   Scroll down to the to your ringtone... it will be listed by the name of the ringtone song.
Select the ringtone you downloaded. You'll have to complete action using Google Play Music or Sound Player. I chose Soundplayer just once.  The song will play. You can pause it.
Hit the SETTINGS KEY on bottom left of you phone on that next to the raised button.
Select SET AS  and chose to save it in the PHONE RINGTONE.
    To activate it,
Hit the SETTINGS KEY on bottom left of you phone on that next to the raised button.
    Select SETTINGS
    Select SOUND
Select DEVICE RINGTONE and it will be in the folder!

  • Ringtone Help DESPERATE!!!

I just got my 4S today and I'm stunned to find out that the ringtone selection on the phone is horrible. I don't want my phone to sound like a duck or a train, or my grandmothers old phone. I have a ringtone(mp3) stored on my pc and can't figure out for the life of me how to get it on the phone. I tried Dropbox, tried putting it into the itunes library, and nothing. Any suggestions?
