Ringtone/Sync Tab Issues

I know this question has been posted numerous times, but none of them with the specifics of my own issue, so I'm starting this thread in hopes of a little help. =)
I have no 'sync ringtones' option whatsoever in my iTunes and to no avail, I've yet to figure out why/how/WHY/HOW. Haha. In light of this, I can't get my ringtones where they need to be.
I have an iPhone 4, had it about a week I think. I just updated my iTunes to 10.4 but that didn't bring a ringtones tab up. I have the tab on the left for ringtones in both my iTunes and iPhone options. It's the one at the top of iTunes that's not there. I'm currently using a PC for my iTunes but I don't know if that matters? I've now tried 3 or 4 different apps to make ringtones, loading each tone into iTunes and trying again and still nothing, zilch, negative, nada. Oh and the ringtones are under 30 seconds. I took a screen shot of the one's I've tried. I'm a visual one myself so I do better to find things when I've seen
them? If that makes sense. I don't think I've left anything out, but it's very possible. Please let me know if more info is needed and what not.
Thank you in advance for any help on this.

I did that and it did not help. i also tried to see if updating my iphone softwear would help but I kept getting an error message at end of download.

  • MobileMe Preference Pane: Sync tab. MAJOR ISSUE.

    this is absolutely killing me.
System Preferences-> MobileMe [ok, that works fine]
click the tab for Sync... spinning beach ball of death. i have to force quit System Prefs every time.
somewhat related, my address book has become all fubar. duplicate groups, no actual address cards.
and that is honestly all i have to offer up as symptoms. everything else seems to be working fine. help!!!

I spent a couple of hours on the phone on Saturday moving up the ladder of Apple Technical Support trying to figure out a solution to this problem. Like the rest of you, I had these specific issues:
    1. When I click on the sync tab of the Mobile Me preference pane, I get a beachball. This requires a force quit of System Preferences.
    2. When I try to launch iSync, it never launches. Instead, it just bounces in the dock.
    3. When I open the activity panel of Mail.app, it continually says "Registering Syncing Preferences" because it's trying to talk to MobileMe and can't. This often (but not always) means that if I want to quit Mail.app, I have to force quit.
This only happens on 1 user profile on my computer. The other user profile works fine and both user profiles on my other computer work fine.
With Apple, we tried all of the normal solutions to solve an issue with 1 user's profile like this: deleted preference files, deleted cache files, re-install Snow Leopard.
NONE OF THOSE SOLVED THE PROBLEM.
So, after all of that time on the phone, they determined that we needed to send the issue up to Apple Engineering. They sent me a diagnostic application that captured a whole bunch of data from my computer, which I sent back to them. The Engineering team is going to work on the problem and call me back in a couple of days.
So, my suggestion is that you should wait just a bit. I think a solution is forthcoming, but not here yet. Will this solution come in the form of a software update (10.6.1)? I don't know. I'll try to post after I hear back from Apple

  • Outlook Sync/Password issue

Has anyone had issues where the outlook send and receive fails when the Iphone is connected and Itunes is open?
When I snyc I usually have to restart outlook and close Itunes before my mail works consistently. Even then, it will occasionally claim that the password is incorrect on send/receive. I have no other snyc issues.
This started after the first snyc and if I turn on the computer and do not snyc the mail works just fine.
    ????

One thing to try is to reset sync history.
At the top of itunes click on edit and choose preferences.
Click on the syncing tab in the preferences window.
Click the button near the bottom to reset sync history.
Click ok to close the preferences window.
    Now try syncing the iphone.
    Hope this helps.

  • Every time I open Firefox, a second "Manage Sync" tab automatically opens. Why is this happening?

When I launch Firefox I get a tab that automatically opens bringing me to the "Manage Sync" window. Today when I launched Firefox there were two "Manage Sync" tabs. I dont know if this is an issue with 35.0.1 or not, but I just reinstalled windows on my desktop and laptop, and the tabs are automatically opening on both systems. I'm not seeing an option to stop this from happening.....whats going on?

    Hi stringboi,
What settings are set for your homepage when you open Firefox?
    </blockquote>
My issue has been solved. It was my homepage settings. I must have set Gmail to my homepage while the "Manage Sync" tab was still open and it made both tabs my homepage =)

  • I do not have a Sync tab in my options box. Do I need an updated version of Firefox?

I would like to sync my Droid to my laptop, however, I do not have a "Sync" tab in the options box. Do I need an updated version of Firefox?

Does this app not provide a video on how to sync it with itunes and then sync it to your phone.
If you have transfer the ringtone to your computer, play the ringtone - then it should move to your tones folder in itunes.  Just make sure when you play the ringtone it's plays in itunes.

  • I don't get "Manage my Account" when I select the Sync tab, but if I try to create a new account it says my userid is already in use. How can I get my password & sync key?

My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium.
    My Firefox version is 4.0.1.
When I try to setup Firefox Sync, I get a choice of "Create a new account" or "Connect".
The first tells me my email address is already in use, but selecting the Sync tab does not give me "Manage my Account."
How can I find out my password and sync key?

    Hi Russ!
Apparently you already configured your account but you don't have nor the key or the password. You can get the password in the [https://account.services.mozilla.com/forgot following link] but you would need the Sync Key to sync your device to the rest of your devices.
If you don't have the Sync Key the best thing you can do is to reset it, by deleting the previous account and creating a new one with the same user. You can perform this tasks from your [https://account.services.mozilla.com/ account dashboard].

  • The Firefox on my phone wont sync properly even when I click sync the tabs wont sync even if I pull up and drop down the synced tabs bar. Please help!

I have seen this problem has been asked about before. However not a single solution provided has worked for me. I have no restricted data or a battery app that's affected my syncing capabilities (or any program like that for that matter). I have tried the sync now button, I've hidden the synced tabs menu and dropped it back down, I've pulled down the synced tabs menu, I've started a new Firefox instance after completely shutting it down, as well as everything else that was suggested. I've used a search engine looking for a solution and have come up with nothing. I'm running Firefox on my laptop, Android phone, as well as my Android tablet. I'm using my laptop with opened tabs. The first time I synced Firefox it worked. Every time since then (I've tried like 100 times and that's not an exaggeration) it hasn't worked on either my phone or tablet. Could someone please help because I'm at my wits end and am considering going back to Chrome. For anyone who can help I sincerely thank you for your time and effort.

Two things that were not mentioned that might lead to
*Are you syncing active tabs on two devices?
*Is Auto-Sync selected on the mobile device in the Account Settings?

  • There is no manage account button on my firefox sync tab on windows 7 or xp or ipod

I set up a Firefox sync account on my windows 7 machine, with user name, password and code (which I still have).
Then I set it up on my Windows XP machine.
    The two synced.
Then I set it up on my iPod. The device picked up the then current sync.
Now, if I try to get to my Sync acct via Firefox>Options>Options>Sync there is no "Manage Account" button.
None of my units will sync, and I cannot even follow the instructions to rest the code -- because there is no "Manage Account" button.
This has been going on for at least a week or more.
Can someone advise on what is happening and how to make sync -- sync? Or work?
    Thank you.

When I go to the Firefox button>Options>Options>
I see the Sync Tab which asks me to set up Firefox Sync (which I've already done). The image depicting this is "opening_screen_sync.jpg"
If I click on "Set Up firefox Sync" I see "second_screen_sync.jpg"
If I click on "I already have a Firefox Sync account" Connect button then I see the code it gives with the third screen (I've left the code part out).
Nowhere do I see the screen in the FireFox dialogues that lets me access the Manage my account so I can ask for a reset of the code (if that's necessary).
These pictures are from my windows 7 machine.
Do you also want to see the images from my XP? Essentially it's the same thing.
From my iPod Touch 4 using Firefox Home, when I hit the refresh button the tabs, bookmarks and history remain the same even though my Windows 7 Firefox has changed significantly.
No unit picks up changes from any other unit. Even though originally synced.
Is this the information you where asking for? If not, please feel free to guide me into directly what info you are seeking.
Thank you for your time and patience.

  • I am using firefox 3.6.23 on my old computer, I have a new laptop that I would like to transfer the bookmarks from the old to the new, but the old computers firefox does not have the sync tab under options, what now?

I have a tower running windows XP, using Firefox 3.6.23. I have a new laptop running windows 7. I have just downloaded firefox 7. Now I want to bring the bookmarks form my old tower computer using firefox 3.6.23 to the new laptop using firefox 7.0. I got the instruction on how to sync the two computers, but I cannot find the sync tab under options in the firefox 3.6.23 computer. Will upgrading the tower's firefox to a newer version give me the sync tab under options?

With firefox 3.6 I think you may have had to use sync as a separate add-on. If so try finding and installing that. Alternativly export your bookmarks from Firefox 3.6, then move that file, using any suitable method (eg removable media, email atacchment, computer network) to somewhere the new laptop can access it and imprt the bookmarks. Remember
    * back up your bookmarks (on both machines) before doing anything
    * importing standard firefox bookmarks overwwrites existing bookmarks
    * (if you just have a few bookmarks on one machine, consider exporting as HTML, when you import those they will append, instead of overwriting the existing files)

  • Manage Account does not appear in the options sync tab. How do I manage my account to get the recovery key?

I cannot sync my Firefox 18 desktop with iPad or iPhone browsers. I have tried everything suggested on the Web and have tried safe mode as well. When I enter the three-line synch code, I get a sync failure. I have deleted my account and then set up a new account without success. Manage Account does not appear in the options sync tab. How do I manage my account to get the recovery key?
I’ve spent hours on this and am considering using Chrome as my regular browser since I have no trouble syncing Chrome with apps. Help appreciated.

You can only inspect the sync key via manage account if this device is has been setup and is connected to the sync server.
You can find the sync account password and the sync (recovery) key in the password manager on computers where a sync account with a specific e-mail address has been set up.
    Look for:
    * chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Password)
    * chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Encryption Passphrase)
You can look at this version of the about:synckey extension that I have modified to show the sync key in current Firefox versions (desktop and mobile).

  • Calendar not appearing in sync tab on MobileMe System Preferences

The Calendar check box is not appearing in sync tab on MobileMe System Preferences.
When I opened SP, MobileMe and sync tab, I can Calendar showing up and disappearing right away. What is this?
I am sorry if it was already discussed, but I could not find it. I can see topics about iCal bug and syncs but not specificaly this one.
    Thanks for any help.
    Mario Lordeiro

    Mario,
The calendar sync has been removed from the MobileMe Sync preference pane, but I have seen the problem you have described, and can invoke it by accessing the "Open MobileMe Preferences...> selction through the sync icon menu item (Option + Click):
Then I am presented with this:
The "Calendars" choice disappears when I access the sync preference directly from System Preferences.
Seems like a bug to me.

  • Overclocking & Vertical sync'ing issue's

O.K. This post is strictly for braging rights.  I have reached 295mhz FSB with 1.7 voltage at a 5:4 ratio.  I must have had issue's before with vertical sync being disabled.  With memory running further than 220 mhz I would get serious fragmentation with Open GL mostly, but for some reason when vertical sync is enabled, the frag.'s only appear in UI's of Open GL games...  the rest of the game is fine (which I can live with).  Of course your limiting FPS with vertical sync enabled, but really is it all just an illusion past 30 fps anyway?  I can't run this board past 295mhz fsb, but still not bad an OC at all, at least by my standards.
I am finally satisfied with this boards overclocking abilities, but I do think this issue will also result from D.O.T. and should be addressed in a bios fix, or at least a mention in the motherboard manual.  The threshold for my ram is about 220 with minor artifacts and changing RAM and video cards still had same sync'ing issue's.  Relaxing timings and up'ing voltages had no effect also.  Performance mode becomes disabled at 5:4 so that wasn't a cause either.  Hope this helps.

Whooops... Ain't it getting steaming and stuffy with 295FSB folding for hours...   Give your CPU a beer for the hard work...

  • Why I don't have a sync tab on my preference menu?

I'm trying to sync my iphone to my mac but the instructions keep telling me to use the "sync" tab under my preference menu, which I don't have. I've tried reinstalling firefox and restarting my computer but I still don't get a sync tab. I tried to sync using my iphone as a blue tooth device also, and it's saying it can't sync with my iphone. What's up?

    Hey beanrs,
It says you are still on 3.6.25. If I am not mistaken, Sync only works an add-on in that version of Firefox and support has recently been discontinued for the add-on. You should consider upgrading to the most recent version of Firefox. There are instructions in the article [[Updating Firefox]].
    Hopefully this helps!
