Ringtone will not sync

I bought and created a ringtone in itunes. I have authorized my powerbook to play the ringtone, and if I click to play it in iTunes it plays as it should. It shows in the list of ringtones and I have selected all ringtones to be synced to my iPhone. However, when I sync, the ringtone does not sync. I get no error message or other information. I have tried it with a second ringtone I created and neither one will sync.

iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

Garage Band Ringtones will not sync

I have created two ringtones with Garage Band. I used the share menu to send them to iTunes. They show up in iTunes and play OK. They will not sync to my iPhone 5 however. Sync ringtones is checked in iTunes for the phone. Looking at "on this phone" under Tones, both are there but have the "to be downloaded" dashed circle on the left hand side. I have tried syncing with "All ringtones" and "Selected ringtones". Any suggestions would be appreciated.

After last iTunes update ringtones will not sync to iPhone4

After I updated to the latest version of iTunes my most of my ringtones would not sync. In the sync menu under ringtones I have tried selecting both all tones and selected tones. I've tried switching to a different account but that doesn't work either. Any suggestions?

Ringtone will not sync from iTunes to iPhone

I downloaded a free silent ringtone, and dragged it into iTunes "Tones." Then I synced my iPhone with iTunes. I went to change the ringtone of an unwanted caller to silent, but it was not in the list. So then I went back into iTunes, and dragged the silent tone into the "Tones" section under "Devices", "MyiPhone." After syncing, the downloaded ringtone still doesn't show up in the list of ringtones or alert tones on my iPhone.
I've read roughly 20 threads on this message board of people with a similar problem, but I have not found an explanation of what I need to do to get the downloaded ringtone from iTunes to my iPhone. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much for your reply JackeeJax. The problem is not actually getting the file to show up in iTunes under "Tones," but rather transferring from iTunes to my iPhone when they sync.
I guess I'll never know why that silent ringtone wouldn't show up in my iPhone ringtones. Since starting this thread I have tested the process with several other normal ringtones, and it works just fine. Maybe the iPhone detected that the ringtone was silent and refused it, idk. It's strange that the ringtone shows up in iTunes under the iPhone's "Tones", but then is nowhere to be found on the iPhone itself. If only Apple allowed users to browse directories, maybe I could figure it out. In any event, it was worth the $1.29 to get a silent ringtone on my iPhone. Gotta screen those telemarketers!

Custom Ringtones Will Not Sync to iPhone 4s with Latest iOS

I have been using a custome ringtone on my iPhone 4s for about a year and a half now without an issue. Today, I went to add another and when I went to sync it to the phone, It showed up in iTunes (under the device) grayed out, with a dotted circle next to it and it does not show up in the phone. Just to try something, I deleted my original ringtone and the new one from iTunes, then imported them both back into the library. I tried to sync again and neither show up in iTunes, under the device nor the phone.
What can I do to fix this?

In order for me to get this to do anything at all, I had to drag the file from the Tones folder in the Library to the phone. I just did this with both of my ringtones and my original is now back on the phone, but the new one is still grayed out in iTunes in the Tones folder under the device with the dotted circle next to it.

HT1688 ringtone will not sync to iphone 5

Can anyone please help me?? I got my iphone 5 yesterday and I have been trying to sync my ringtones from my iphone 4 to my new phone but its not happening. everything else has been synced just not the ringtones. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you to fix it? I resynced from my computer and from icloud with out avail. Please help cause I am getting super fustrated!!

or did you go through garageband? from the looks of it, the AAC version because you're on windows vista...
the AAC approach does not work for store bought music, but the garageband approach does. if you have access to garageband, a google search can help you with the specifics.

Ringtones will not sync to more than one phone

i have 2 iphones i am trying to sync the ring tones to both one will work with all the ringtones the other will only show 2 tones that can be synced i have 22 total

double check on the mac addresses that you have saved so that your wireless computers can connect properly to your netwok, or you could just disable the mac filtering so that all of your computers can easily connect, just secure your wireless network

IPhone 4 w/ updated iOS 4.3.3 Ringtones will not sync to phone, etc.

I just updated my iPhone 4 to the iOS 4.3.3 software. Now none of my ring tones will sync back to the phone, which I don't understand why it removed them in the first place. Signal strength is poorer than before and I have 3G in my area. Also none of my apps will open or work except the ones that came on the phone from Apple. If anyone can help me with these problems I would be greatly appreciative of it!! Thanks in advance for your help!!

Ringtones will not sync after Iphone 4 to 5 upgrade

I just upgraded my Iphone 4 to a 5. Everything migrated fine except the ringtones. If I look in my Itunes in myTones folder the tones listed but they are not in the folder but I have the tones in my Itunes library. Does this have to do with the file extension as I notice If I go to drag one of the tones from the music library to the tones folder in ITunes it does not allow me to .
Any help here?

To the OP, I gave you your two options (not including paying full price) in my first post. I'm sure that there are other creative options (ask for someone to buy it for you, wait and buy it on ebay), but these are too far out of the box to be realistic in the near future.

ONE ringtone will not sync!

OK - I have made a bunch of custom ringtones using Logic. All but one of them with synchronize fine. I followed the same sequence of steps, so I can't figure out why this one isn't working.
They all show up in the Ringtones entry for iTunes, but this one doesn't show up in the Ringtones tab in the iPhone settings. I can't figure out why this isn't being recognized a ringtone here when all the others are AND when it shows up under Ringtones in another part of the program.
Any ideas?

NICE! that did the trick - note to others: itunes is VERY particular about the length - it was 40.006 seconds long - I trimmed it down to somewhere around 39.78 (which rounds up to 40 in the display - you can see the exact length if you go to Get Info, then Options and look at the end time) and that did the trick - thanks! I never would have thought of that - especially since I had another track around 39.5 seconds which shows as 40 as well and that one worked - round up to 40? no problem - round down to 40? no way. thanks!!

Does "!" next to my ringtone explain why it will not sync back into my phone although it is in my library on my computer?
