Ringtones don't stick

I've been reading many threads about people having a problem getting ringtones on their phones but I didn't see one about the ringtones being on the phone but not "sticking" with the contact. So, here goes.
I've got a 3G. I've got a number of ringtones on it that are the same ones I used on my original 2G phone. My wife has most of these same ringtones installed on her 3G phone. I can set a ringtone for a contact and after a few days, the contacts ringtone has defaulted back to the "default" ringtone.
This never happened on my original iPhone, it's not happening on my wife's iPhone, just mine. Syncing appears to have no affect on this phenomenon, it's just after a few days, all contacts with custom ringtones default back to the default ring.
I've already restored my phone's software with no affect. I'm beginning to think perhaps a third part app might be causing this but I've no idea which, if that's even the root cause.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this quirk.

Well it seems to have been a MobileMe related issue. Failed to mention in my original post that I sink contacts thru MM.
I decided to turn off syncing thru MobileMe so I went to settings (on phone) and my .Mac email account and turned off syncing. I then plugged my phone into my Mac, launched iTunes, selected the info tab and checked the box to sync my contacts with iTune. Interestingly enough I was presented with a dialog box that stated my contacts were sync'd with a different user account and did I want to replace. I confirmed that I did. I also then selected at the bottom of that screen in the advanced section the box to replace all contacts on my phone with the next sync.
I then proceeded to sync my phone. All my contacts ended up on the phone as they should.
I then went to the MobileMe system preference on my Mac, selected the sync tab, clicked the advanced button and when the name of my Mac showed up in the list, I then chose to reset sync data and then to replace all data on MobileMe with data from my Mac.
After this sync was complete, I went back to my phone and turned syncing back on, with MM. I was alerted as expected that all contacts on my phone would be replaced and I confirmed this action. I then went and re-assigned ringtones to my contacts and for several days now, my ringtones are still in place where they were defaulting back to the default ring as often as several times a day.
IMPORTANT: if you decide to try this it would be prudent to FIRST launch Address Book on your Mac and export all records to an archive file for backup purposes.
This seems to have corrected the problem but a few more days should confirm.

Problem with JPGs Downlaoded with Nikon Transfer - Can't Apply Develop Settings in Bridge CS4 and ACR 5.3 Settings Don't Stick

I have found what I believe is a "problem" with JPGs downloaded using Nikon Transfer (ver 1.4.1) and processing same in Adobe Bridge CS4 (Develop Settings) and/or Adobe Camera Raw 5.3 (Photoshop CS4 and Elements 6 as hosts).
Anyone using these programs in their workflow?
The problem, quite simply, is that neither ACR settings (nor Bridge CS4 Develop Settings) "stick" when applied to JPGs that have been downloaded via Nikon Transfer ver 1.4.1.
The same images from the same cameras (D300 and D90), downloaded moments later using Nikon's predecessor software PictureProject work just fine in both Bridge and ACR. Develop Settings appled in Bridge immediately are seen, and JPGs opened in ACR, and settings applied, then "Done" immediately stick and are reflected in Bridge.
If someone else is processing their JPGs in this manner, please let me know, as I have reported the problem to both Nikon and Adobe, and although I have tested it on two different cameras and two differnt laptops, I would like to get an impartial result as well.
One other test, the problem does not seem to affect Nikon's RAW (NEF) format files downloaded from a D2x using Nikon Transfer. More/different test are forthcoming.

Can't say one way or another on that statement about using manufacturers' software. Since Adobe has to interpret each camera models' RAW format having the latest ACR seems to be the best option. But if the manufacturers' software is more convenient, and you get the same results then use it. But it does appear you are not getting what you want, so suggest you try a duplicate test run with images straight from the card reader to Bridge and see if you still have same problems.
I do know it is widely recommended that using a quality card reader gives you more reliable data than getting the pictures straight from the camera. Does not seem intuitive, but that has been experience of many.

Since upgrade my ringtones don't work

ringtones don't work on my iPhone since upgrade. It shows them on my contacts, but I get normal ring when I get a call.

hello, make sure your ringtones are still in your itunes library under the "ringtones" area.
Then if they are in your library, try dragging them again to your phone... especially if you are missing you music too!
That should fix it!
For some reason, some of the music/ringtones ddn't make it on the upgrade of iOS 5.

My ringtones don't seem to have transferred - I see them in iTunes, but they are not "assigned" to the correct contacts.
When I go to each contact, and look thru the ringtone options, my (purchased) ringtones are not available??

It's important to be able to hear your device ringer when someone's trying to reach you! Let's see how we can resolve your device issue prior to hard resetting the device.
Can you confirm which device you have, Samsung Galaxy S 4 or the Samsung Galaxy S 4 mini? Are you able to hear audio or sound when you play videos, downloaded songs or web based audio on your device? Shortcuts don't stick. Hidden shortcut for Graph Type?

I realize there is a glitch that Adobe won't address. Custom shortcuts sometimes don't stick. The only tip I've received is to reselect my custom shortcuts each time I launch Illustrator (this is a pain).
I tried a different approach and assigned an alternative shortcut. But it still doesn't stick for one menu item: Object>Graph>Type.
When I was creating a new graph, I was in the data window and accidentally hit a key that opened the Graph Type dialog. I might have been imagining this, but does anyone know if there's an alternative key to open the Graph Type window?
I suspect Adobe is already preparing CS5 so I don't see a fix coming at all.

Preferences don't stick

One biggest nightmares of using Safari in last year is suddenly prefrences don't stick -- ie number of pages want search, to use/ not use search query etc. The problem vanished after last upgrade, but has resurfaces yesterday -- not sure if coincidence, but I downloaded some update from Apple, can't rememeber what, security thing and something else.
Anyone have any idea how to lick this beast!
The "basics" have not worked....clearing cookies, cache, deleting pref. file -- it "seems" be in an internal thing with Safari, as it did go away on last upgrade to 4.0.3, I think, but is now back

Maybe there's an underlying issue. Have you checked the startup disk for errors lately?
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger and later) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window where you see Capacity and Available. *Make sure there is always 10% free disk space*

The authorization don't "stick" to my computer.

I bought some music from iStore for the first time for some weeks ago and I haven't been able to play it on the computer from which I bought them from. It seems like the authorisation of this computer don't "stick" nomatter what I do.
This is what has happen:
I loged in to iStore, bought the music and downloaded it. All green so far. But when I then clicked on one of the new songs iTunes tells me that the computer isn't authorized (even if it already was). So I fill in the exact same user accout and password as I used when I bought the music (account name are also stated in the songs information tab, AND I have only one account). So it then tells me again that I now have authorized the computer, but nothing happens. When I then tries to push play, the same missing authorization loop procedure occour... over and over again.
The same happens for all new songs I bought... none of them works. Worthless. I couldn't even move them to my iPod because evertime it ask me about the account name and password and nothing more happend.
However, I authorized an other computer in the network and successfully moved the new songs over to that one, using the same username and password. On that computer everything worked out fine. I could even transfer the songs to my Nano from there... Isn't it strange?
BUT, the main problem remains. I can't play the music from my main computer and it ain't a small problem to me... in fact, my only intention for buying this music was to play it on my main computer which is the only one that is truly Hi-Fi connected if you know what I mean. The other computer is just a laptop with a "lowtech" soundcard.
So as I see it I haven't got what I bought yet...
On top of this I have spent the last week trying to solve the issue. Being a computers consultant as I am, I always reach for help when I finally run out of ideas myself, and this it it.
I have freneticly signed out, signed in, deauthorized, authorized, uninstalled, reinstalled iTunes, waited for this next release (7.3), payed, and finaly said words out loud I usally keep inside... Nothing seems to work!
I refuse to reinstall my computer because if this because it works like charm otherwise...

Move your photos into Photostream and then will appear available on you iMAC i iPhoto11.
Sometimes it seems to take a few minutues so try a few first.

I got the most recent update and all my ringtones, including the factory pre-installed ringtones, don't work or play when called or texted.

Click Pad Settings don't stick

I'm using an HP Envy 15 Notebook with Windows 10. Currently using HP Control Zone v 19.0.1.12.95. Since the upgrade to 10, my clickpad settings (Settings > Devices > Mouse & touchpad > Additional Mouse Options > ClickPad Settings) don't stick after a reboot. The default 2-finger scrolling seems to be Aussie scrolling, and Pinch Zoom and Rotating default to selected. If I deselect them and reboot, the settings return to their default. Is this a Synaptics issue that they need to fix (and that I need to fix each time I reboot until they do), or is there an older driver set I could use? Feel free to move this to the correct board if I chose incorrectly. Thanks!

Hi I have the exact same problem with HP Pavillion and windows 10. Keep turning the pinch zoom setting off and when I restart it defailts back to on again.

Subtle iDVD bug - buttons don't stick

I have found a subtle bug in iDVD6.0.3.
If you manually place the inter-menu arrow navigation buttons, save, then later re-open your iDVD project and "update" it because you have edited the underlying iMovie project inbetween, the inter-menu arrow navigation buttons return to their default position for whatever theme you've used. They don't stick in your manually placed position. All chapter buttons stay in the right spots, manually placed or otherwise.
There is nothing you can do to stop this happening.
Not a fatal bug, but annoying enough.

Not exactly sure why this sometimes happens. I find that if I don't quit the application then I'm ok. However sometimes after quitting and saving and reopening these buttons do return to their default positions.
Go ahead and try this: drag and drop the plist for iDVD to the trash.
Quit iDVD. Locate a file named com.apple.iDVD.plist and get rid of it. iDVD will create a new one the next time it runs. Empty the trash and restart if needed.

My ringtones don't vibrate but all other notifications do?

I have an iPhone 3GS.. my text and email notifications all vibrate with their sounds. But my incoming calls do not vibrate with the ringtone. I can even choose the same tone for each, and just the calls do not vibrate... everything else does. I can't figure out what would be the conflicting setting.
Suggestions?

i've noticed that if you're moving at all when you rotate the screen, the iPhone will not rotate the screen to match your viewing angle.
i don't have a gs, so i don't know anything about watching home made movies. sorry...

Phone labels don't stick when edited

I have had this problem since the first version of Address Book. When I go into edit mode on an address card and change the label on a phone number (from Home to Mobile let's say), then exit edit mode, the label change doesn't stick. It just reverts back to the original description. Is there any way to make the label change on a phone number permanent?

I have done the same thing you have done. I am doing a lecture series for a teacher. I record her voice with logic express and then transfer the audio into the slides and set the timing to fit the audio. When I convert to Quicktime the ending of the slides are extended, which means long pauses between slides. I figured I could convert to DV from keynote to try to cut those long pauses in iMovie but they keynote program just would crash at the end and I didn't have a DV file. So, I'm just converting from Quicktime Pro into a DV file and work on cutting out the long pauses in iMovie. I'm in the middle of this process now. This seems like a long work around but for now, but I see no other choice. Please apple (& jeebuz) help us out!!

SInce I installed iOS4 (including the upgrade subsequently), ringtones I select for different contacts don't work - all I get is the default.

E75 ringtones don't care about settings

Strange behaviour with the E75 started with the firmware update to 202.12.01. First it started to use the videophone ringtone for certain calls and these were calls from phones that don't have any video capability. I ignored that and decided to have a brute force solution by selecting another ringtone in the settings for video calls. Didn't work. Still intermittently the phone incorrectly believes that a videocall is coming in AND uses the standard Nokia tune regardless of the setting. Any idea?
