If you perform a full reset on your device by holding in the power button, and removing and then while still holding the power button reinstall the battery, you then will be prompted to erase all data on your device (all data will be lost with this process so you need to make a backup of any data you may need) choose the up segment on the 5-way nav button, your device will restart, and arrive at the alignment screen, align the screen, set the time zone, and date and time, and then you will be asked for the language of choice, if this device is from Europe then you may have the choice for French language. If not then this device does not have the proper firmware load and would require this change to get French.
There is no official way of getting a Firmware change from one region to another. This would require a device to rewrite the ROM, and the proper ROM version to use. Any 3rd party firmware upgrade to another language could render the device useless.

  • Service Light for Treo 750

    Hello,
I have a 750 with T-Mobile.  The Service light does not blink when I am connected like other treo models do.  Is there a way to turn this on?  I miss that little green light
    Thanks!

My belief is that Palm turned it off on Treo models after Treo 650 because people found the light annoying in some circumstances - e.g. in a dark bedroom - you got the feeling you were in an airport. There were a few hacks to turn off the light on those older Treos. Not having the flash also saves your phone a bunch of power - each time that LED comes on, you lose a little talk or standby time.

  • How can i delete all data from treo 750 - where is the hard reset button for the treo 750

I'm giving my phone to my brother and want to delete all my data from the treo 750 (AT&T).  All the other posts I read doesn't tell me where the reset button is.  Please Help!
Post relates to: Treo 750 (AT&T)

Hello and welcome to the Palm forums.
A hard reset wipes everything off your device. A hard reset is performed by holding down the power/end call button while removing the battery from your device for a few seconds. Keep your hand on the power/end call button until you put the battery back into your device. After you put the battery back in, the screen will say "Palm Powered." Take your hand off the power/end call button. You will now see a screen in 5 languages prompting you to erase all data from the palm. The screen will say "erase all data? Yes - up, no - down" and you need to click on the up arrow (button on the 5 way navigator on the bottom of the treo). This will erase all the info from your device.
    I hope this was helpful!

  • Is it really possible to upgrade from a Treo 650 to a Treo 750?

I am not a very happy customer at the moment, but any help would be greatly appreciated. I upgraded from my old Palm Tungsten to a Zire, then to a Cingular Treo 650, combining three devices into one. I have since discovered that the Treo 650 seems to have a faulty transmission mode, as I can rarely be clearly understood by whomever I call. Am on the second (or third, I have lost track) and continue to have the same problem. I get five bars of reception but can't be understood on the other end. A bit of a problem when one is trying to call 911. Am constantly told I am "breaking up". The repair shop says it "Can't duplicate the problem". OK, then I do not want to give up all the info I have stored in the fool thing, and the 750 seems to have a different system, so I thought I would try that. All the stuff I could find seemed to indicate it wouldn't be a problem to upgrade. When the 750 arrived, I tried to install the software from the CD on my Windows XP computer. No dice. Setup encounters an error and closes. Can't even look at the files, because setup tries to run any time I access the CD. From any drive.  Gave it to my girlfiend to check on her computer, and the CD seemed to run fine. Other CDs work just fine on my computer. Must be some kind of conflict, but what? Tried calling the AT&T number that suggested they could help with setup, and was first connected to the business center, they routed me to the laptop center, who routed me to the network center, who said they would have to bring in the Palm customer service and connected me to a Mac guy that dumped me back to a menu that took me to someone for whom English is a second language with whom I was trying to communicate over a very poor satellite connection. They made no sense anyway. telling me first that I couldn't have two desktops running (wrong, my girlfriend has my old Zire and the CD worked fine) and then insisting that the serial number on my device had to start with a P, when it clearly does not have any alpha characters in it. Gave up on that route of assistance. Managed to get the new ActiveSync installed from my girlfriends computer over the network. Great. Now let's get my 650 synced with Outlook (which I have not used at home) and see if we can move on. Nope. First I have to update Outlook 2000 from the old Win98 to my current XP. Find the old CD, and square that away. OK, now sync to Outlook. Nope. The sync program gives an error, saying it will only sync with Outlook 98, 2000, and XP(2002). Good grief. I have Outlook 2000, and the software apparently does not recognize it. If the Palm doesn't work, there is no reason for me to keep this phone, and I am very close to returning it and abandoning the Palm entirely when I upgrade to something that works, although I dread re-entering all that information.

Thanks for the feedback. Today I installed an Enterprise version of Office 2007 I purchased a while back, but had not yet installed. Microsoft presented a few challenges, but they were quickly resolved. I then downloaded the appropriate conduit from Palm, and synced the 650 with the handheld overwriting the computer. Then used Active Destop to sync the 750. Satisfied I had moved as much info as possible, I called AT&T and had them move the phone number to the new Treo.
Bonus! When the guy at AT&T called me on the new phone to verify it, he said it sounded better than my landline.
Sorry for the streaming paragraph. When it is late I tend to write like I think.

  • Problem with syncing Treo 750

I just got an AT&T Treo 750 and am trying to set it up for syncing with my disktop computer running Windows XP Pro, SP3.
First, I am not an Outlook user, but figured out that I had to install that software to use ActiveSync. Second, I am not planning on using my 750 for email, and am only interested in syncing my Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks. It appeared that I did have to set up the 750 for email to get thngs started with ActiveSync, so I did that, too. Now when I attempt to sync I get this MS message:
Cannot syncronize with the Outlook profile you are using, because a different profile was previously set up or the profile is password-protected. Please open Outlook using the appropriate profile. Support Code: 8503001f
What do I need to do to get the 750 and my computer to sync?
Second question: Is there any other syncing software I can use other than Outlook?
    Thanks - John

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. If the data is gone from your 750 and was never in outlook there is nothing I can do . But if you have your old device and are using Palm Desktop 4.1.4e we can get the data back to outlook so you can sync your data back to the 750.
Post back if you do not have Palm Desktop 4.1.4e
If you do great. All you need to do is go to Start-->Programs/All Programs-->Palm/Palmone-->PIM Conduit Sync--> Sync with Outlook. If it says you are already to sync with Outlook then good if not let it do its thing. After this what you need to do next is right click on the Hotsync Manager go to custom then click on Calendar and select change then select handheld overwrites desktop. Do the same for contacts, tasks, and memos.
Post back if you have more questions.

  • Sync Windows Mobile Treo 750 with Vista 64 bit, FINALLY DID IT!

I have just spent 3 hours trying to set up sync between my Treo 750 and my new Vista 64-bit computer.  Here's what I learned:
You have to download the Windows Mobile Device Center and its update (that's why some people felt they were downloading twice).  Even after the second download, it still didn't work, so I was told to uninstall both, then I was directed to the following link, where it only had to download once -- http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center.mspx
Once I did that, I kept getting an error message that my device was not recognized, and the mobile device center
said the device was not connected (and the proposed solution on the computer was to replace the device).  I tried the things that others have mentioned on this forum, but it still did not work.  After talking with AT&T, they suggested I do a soft reset on the phone.  That is what finally worked for me EXCEPT that each time my phone "timed out" (the display went blank), it would say it was not connected again.  I finally kept touching the screen so the display would not go blank.  Another option is to change the amount of time it will stay on before timing out, which I may do if this continues to be a problem when I sync in the future.
I hope this information helps someone else along the way.  It has been quite a frustrating process, as are many other things when transitioning to a new computer.

    Very Delayed Update:
Whenever I upgraded my Treo 750 to WM6, I found in PROGRAMS "Proxy Manager" which is nothing but a box to select to "Force AT&T Proxy".
Whenever I have established an ActiveSync connection via Bluetooth with my internet connected laptop, I simply Un-Select the "Force AT&T Proxy" and any program (IE, Google Maps, email Send & Recieve, etc.) use the ActiveSynce Passthough.

recently i updated it to windows mobile 6.5
and i am in problems with it
i want to reset it to wm6
pl send me the original os link

    1. There was never an *official* WM 6.5 update for any Treos.
    2. Have you tried a hard reset?
    3. Are you sure its the OS, not an application?
    4. I see disclaimers left and right on hacking-related apps, sites, etc.
    5. Try the 750's Palm support page, maybe an update will help.

Hello and thank you for using the Palm Help Forums!
You can try a hard reset to resolve this issue. A hard reset will erase all data on the device and restore settings back to default. For further information and instructions on resets please visit kb.palm.com and look up article number 43146 in the Solution I.D. search field.
Once a hard reset has been completed successfully and the device is restored, see if you are still experiencing the same problems with the microphone. If the problems still exsists you have a hardware issue and you will want to seek repair or replacement methods.
I hope this information is useful and please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

  • Treo 750 syncing w/ Windows Vista 32bit

I have a Treo 750 that I had synced with windows xp. Ever since I "upgraded" to windows vista I have not been able to sync.  The computer won't even recognize the phone as connected.  Here is what I have and what I have tried already.  I have, as mentioned, the Treo 750 running windows mobile 5.0/ the laptop was running xp which I had no problems setting up and syncing.  I now have window vista 32bit I guess since when I tried downloading WMDC 64bit it wouldn't support the download, so I have WMDC 32bit. When I downloaded WMDC the treo was connected through a usb cable.  I have uninstalled and re-installed WMDC several times. Sometimes the device manager will not recognize the usb cable and sometimes it does.  When it does recognize the cable it shows a bluetooth symbol and says everything is working properly but when I open up WMDC I am not connected, if I push the sync button nothing happens, if I unplug the usb cable and replug the device manager then will no longer recognize the usb cable. I have also tried everything on the support boards, help forums, you name it I have tried it except a hard reset which I don't want to do until I sync all my info first. Oh yeah the whole reason I am so desperate to sync my phone after such a long time is because my phone constantly freezes up as if I have to much going on which I don't. I have cleaned out every program not necessary so I have tons of memory, so that is not slowing down or freezing my phone. I basically have to soft reset my phone after I do or run 3-4 different applications including phone calls.  ANYONE PLEASE HELP EITHER OF THESE TWO PROBLEMS BEFORE MY GIRLFRIEND DUMPS ME FOR SPENDING SO MUCH TIME ON THE COMPUTER TRYING TO FIGURE THIS STUPID THING OUT.  THANKS  DAVE
Post relates to: Treo 750 (AT&T)

Yeah I have tried that already no luck.  Here are some other things that I forgot to mention. I have another laptop that is running windows xp, this laptop has never been synced to anything. I downloaded Microsoft Activesync but it will not connect to that either. The difference with this computer is that when I plug it into the USB port it makes a sound and when I push the usb sync button it makes a beep followed by another beep.  Lastly I have another Treo (my girlfriends) that when I first tried to sync to WMDC it did not connect but after running troubleshoots I got it to work on both computers. It is so frustrating.

    Hello!
First of all the Treo 750's radio cannot do HSPA+ so it wont get the t-mobile 4g speeds.  The next thing is the T-mobile uses Euro bands for 3g, the carrier that does in the US, and the ATT/Cingular Treo 750 devices will only get 2g speeds on T-Mobile network.  Unfortunately it is not a seeting issue but a physical conflict
