RIP Aperture -- you had a great life!

Sure, it's not perfect. Maybe because Apple hasn't done much to it in the past few years, but as I look for replacements -- I'm struck with just how good Aperture really is. I'm going to miss it and it's going to be really hard to replace (sorry, not crazy about LightRoom).
I'll be using Aperture until an OS X update breaks it -- but man, the ease of doing things, the artistry behind the tools and UI, it spoiled me!
It's been my photo editing/organizer for many years and I for one, will really, really miss it!
Apple gets a lot of flack, rarely do people support or compliment a piece of software but RIP Aperture -- you were a great old program and us videographers and photographers will really miss you.

At least we still have Aperture and it did not go away like iPhoto did.
Both Aperture and iPhoto have equally "gone away". Neither are available in the App Store anymore. You can still continue to use iPhoto, (and many are) if you wish.
Like many others, I plan to continue with Aperture until Apple breaks it. I have been "playing around" with alternatives. So far, I like "Lyn" the best. It does not have the editing power of Aperture, but you are able to display Keywords under thumbnails which is an absolute requirement that Photos does not have.

Can you give some real-life use of tables in BW?

In reading links and notes from here, I took a leap to try and understand how tables are used in the BW environment, by following:
se16
RSZ* then F4
then I Double click on:
i.
RSZRANGE        Selection specification for an element
If execute, I get a table with a several fields with values.
What is this table suppose to tell me and can you give me a real-life scenario where you made use of such a research to solve a problem?
ii.
RSZOPRATOR       Formula Operators
similarly, here I found fields with operators and mostly numbers.

Nothing recognizable here about the update rules.

Also, sometimes here conversations like, research on which tables have the fields you need and lets generate reports against them. I though tin BW, reports are always generated against data targets (ODS, Cubes, etc). I didnt know of tables.
Can you give a real-life scenario where you had to combine fields in 2 or 3 tables and use them in project?

There are many scenarios where you can use the tables behind the screen. But most of the times the scenarios are sophisticated requirement. Suppose your installation has many data targets and all are getting loaded nightly, weekly or even monthly intervals. Usually in most places the person on call will go and look at all the targets in the morning whether all the loads are successful (they would have beeped if something faild during loading at nights). Instead of going thru this manual process you can write an ABAP program which will look at the infocubes and ODS and see how many records were added, transferred, updated success or failure all kinds of information.
RSA1 is just a front end and all the information you see are all coming from tables which are stored here. go to SE80 or SE11 and search for the tables behind the screens. Every bit of detail that you see is coming from tables or available in tables. There are many tables and they are all relational. So you can pretty much do anything you like in accessing them. Please just read (SELECT) from them. Don't try to delete, insert anything unless you know what you are doing absolutely.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

In the Calendar there used to be the daily activities listed at the bottom of the page when you had the monthly view on it

For example you could see the whole month, the day you select was highlighted and at the bottom of the page listed any activities.
Now this does not happen. Am I missing something?

Ditto! I have always preferred the month as the default view and the list at the page bottom let me know what I need to pay attention to for today (or tomorrow, or any future date). Having to scoll through every hour of the day to find items that may or not be there is a huge waste of time!
I hate this calendar!!!! I've been okay with other changes in ios7 but they need to make changes. How about letting us configure our own calendar views? Choose "home" page look by month or week, itemize daily view by hour or by items entered, etc.

Has anyone else ever had a problem where you had to perform 2 datasocket writes before the datasocket read would pick up the change?

I have a local VI that is simply a control that writes to the datasocket server whenever the control value changes.(the dataitem on the server is permanent - its initialized and never released by the server)
In the same local VI I have a datasocket read polling a different dataitem on the server.
The remote machine has a VI that reads the permanent dataitem on the server once per second.
For some reason, after adding the local VI mentioned above, the remote VI stopped picking up the first change in the permanent variable.
I'd start both the local and remote VIs...
Then change the local control and the remote V
I would not update - as if the datasocket write(upon adjusting the control) did not take place. So I'd change the control value again - this time the remote VI would update to this new value. And from here on out - the remote VI would update correctly. This problem only occurs when the local VI is first started up.
What in the heck is going on?

Gorka is right, this came up on Info-LV a few days ago. Someone
described a similar problem. I replied that I had seen similar
behaviour, reported it to NI, and they verified a bug. There is no fix
yet, but they are aware of it and will fix it. No anticipated release
date for the fix.

When you say you "had it once", how did you get it then? The App Store has only been around for a few years, so there are lots of apps out there that you would once get from the developer, but now they're only available on the App store. Which app(s) are you referring to?

Have any of you had any issues with resizing in Adobe PS CC 2014?

If I resize a photo in prior versions, I have not issues. If I go canvas size in Adobe PS CC 2014, the image becomes larger- but cropped and a color is added as a border. This doesn't happen in the prior versions.

I guess that I should have been more specific, Noel. I compared and contrasted Adobe PS CC 2014 with the CC version and CS6 version. I noticed a big difference. After a couple of hours toying with adobe PS CS6, CC, and CC 2014, here is the difference that I have discovered: in the older versions, if you wanted to make a canvas size like 24 x26 inches, you had to use "Canvas size" under the "Image" tab. In CC 2014, if you do that, it will keep the image looking small, but add a huge border around it. If you go into "Image Size" you can type in your dimensions, and it resizes the image without adding the border. Noel, if you are familiar with resizing images, please talk me through my mistakes. I need to learn, and I have no one in my area to teach me. Your help would be appreciated.

i got the iphone last year the first day. i have one and dh has one so our bill is $150. if I add a line and get the 3G what happens to my bill?

$10 extra/month for the 3g data service
$5 extra/month for 200 text messages (you can go to unlimited texts for $15 more)
So in addition to the normal monthly charge for my plan (family talk 550 minutes for $50/month, unlimited nights/weekends, unlimited cell-to-cell on the at&t network, $9.99 for each addl phone), I'm paying $35 for data and texts. My wife is using my old iPhone, which is still $20/month for unlimited data and 200 texts.
