Rip video with secondary/dual audio stream from dvd to ipod

I see that my 160gb ipod has an option in the video section for secondary audio. I assume this means a video file or .mp4 can be created with 2 different audio tracks. I want to be able to have a video file with the standard audio and commentary track. I have searched online and I have seen a couple of sites that claim their software can do that but the demos Ive tried havent worked. Does anyone have any experience in this? Or does anyone know of the definitive program to use?

i just downloaded this program, but when i pop in a dvd, it won't open up. do i have to be registered in order for this to work properly?

Home Sharing enabled
iTunes Library with x264 m4v's with 2 audio streams -> AAC/AC3
On ATV2 Home Sharing defaults to the AC3 Dolby stream and 5.1 is enabled for home sharing
ATV3 I have to toggle from AC3 to AAC and back to get it to work....
The AC3 stream is active when launching the film, but there is no sound unless i toggle to AAC then back to AC3
I have tried HDMI as well as optical audio.
Dolby in settings is set to on.
Anyone run into this?

ATV2 Works.. Home Sharing connecting to the M4Vs in iTunes that have the dual audio streams (AAC/AC3) automatically detects the AC3 stream and it plays fine wit Dolby 5.1
ATV3 Home sharing connections to the M4Vs in iTunes with the same dual streams. It detects the AC3, but does NOT play it. SILENCE. BUT, if I toggle the stream in ATV with the remote and select the AAC, I get PCM and it works. Toggle back to AC3, I get Dolby and it works.
Does anyone know why it doesnt work from the beginning and why I have to toggle this?

What App are you using to get the audio stream? Safari should work unless Flash is involved.
I have used the free NPR App to listen to radio stations, but I don't know if it works with TV stations.

Import avi video with uncompressed PCM audio

I am unable to import into iMovie 10 or FCP X the audio portion of avi videos with uncompressed PCM audio. I just get the video and silence. They imported fine into previous versions of iMovie. Of course, I can use conversion programs to produce versions that import, but I have hundreds of hours of video in this format, so I would prefer not to have to do that. Is there a plug-in that would solve the problem?

For video, the codec is MPEG-4 Video (XVID) and for audio it says MPEG Audio Layer 1/2/3 (mpga).
There are two issues with that file:
The first is the Xvid CODEC (not meant for editing), and then the MPEG Audio/MPGA. I would convert that file, to something that is more editable.

Cannot start mwa audio streaming from web site

Dear all,
I found that i cannot open a wma audio streaming from web sit. Safari popup a error message that the mime audio type is not available. Although I've already installed flip4mac and Media Player 9, both Safari/Firefox cannot playing such audio stream. Is it a plug-ins issue and how can I to check and resolve this? Please help.

No Video Decoder available for this stream type (DVD Error -47003)

I am so confused, I have never had these sorts of issues before, now nothing works. In premiere pro I export a video as Microsoft DV/AVI, the compressor is DV(NTSC), pixel aspect ratio is D1/DV NTSC (0.9). Audio is uncompressed 48000Hz, 16 bit sterio.
When I import into Adobe Ecnore 1.5, all is fine untill I try to place chapters into video, no video in monitor window, and when I preview the whole thing and click on one of the buttons in my project I get the following error (Video Decoder available for this stream type (DVD Error -47003), and the screen is black.
Any help would be great.

PPro/AME is using the Main Concept Encoder - in the Format menu there are three varieties of MPEG2 - but of course, they are not QT and I was being sloppy (and ignorant) in my description!
I have now tried as well, per your suggestion, DV AVI and uncompressed AVI, both generating the same error unfortunately - and again I tried an Animation QT, but same again.
The most bizarre thing is that the odd clip that does work I now find is 768x576 - I really can't understand why Encore is even letting that through the door, never mind previewing it. I just tried deliberately exporting one from PPro, but of course as expected Encore said it was the wrong size.
I rolled QT back to 7.1 - same error. Could roll back further I guess.....
The reliance on QT movies is largely my preference and habit I guess - all my work is cgi. In the first instance image sequences taken into After Effects for comp - writing them out from there as QT movies uncompressed/Animation, or Sorenson 3 for client preview is just something we are used to.
It does suck but I am close to resigning myself to following your suggested route of burning RW discs and testing them that way - annoying and frustrating.
One thing I have left is to move Encore to my other machine, a leaner and faster box that I use for my 3D work - as there's less on it perhaps it may be easier to pin down what is breaking the preview.
I have found reports of this error going back to 2005, but no solutions - like the first two posts, people seem confounded and unable to pin down a reason for it. Adobe's knowledgebase contains no result when I enter the exact error line either.
I'll see what I can find and come back to this thread with results positive or negative. Meantime I suppose I might be looking at upgrading after all....the problem is I have sufficient Adobe products that I should be, for economy sake, looking at one of the suite upgrades - I've already seen that's around £1,300, which firmly puts me between the proverbial rock and hard place!
Your help, Jeff, is much appreciated and I will post back on this thread when I have something, hopefully within a day or two.

Can anyone help with instructions to have the audio portion of an itunes purchased video stream across the airport express while the video plays on the macbook. It seems to work fine with all of the music files but in trying to watch a video i purchased the audio will only play through the macbook. Any help is appreciated

Is there a way to have two audio streams playing at the same time on the iPad and/or iPhone? I'm looking for a workaround specifically with Spotify playing music while watching a workout video streaming from iTunes. Thanks!

Digital audio streaming from Nano

I own a 2nd and 6th gen iPod Nano. Is there a way to stream ditgital audio content from the Nano bypassing it's internal DAC? I'd like to deliver the digital signal directly to my Audio system and allow it do the digital to analog conversion. Thank you.

I did come across a device offered by Wadia, the 170iTtansport. This device is advertised to bypass the digital to analog conversion and analog output stage from the iPod. A great idea!!! I’d like to use my iPod as a high fidelity audio server, delivering uncompressed WAV files to my audio system. I was hoping that a device like this would not be necessary, that I could achieve the same results with just a wire from the iPod to the DAC in my audio system. Is it possible that Apple could make this possible with software on the iPod?

FCP Does NOT do Surround Sound.
You will need to Edit your project as normal in FCP.
When you're edit is complete you will export your Audio to SoundTrack Pro where you will complete your Surround Sound Audio Mix.RightClick your Audio on the timeline > Send To Soundtrack

Issues w/ iPod audio streaming from iPad 2 to AppleTV 2?

Are there known issues with streaming music from iPad 2 to ATV2 via AirPlay? Streaming the exact same music at the exact same bit rate from my iPhone 4 works flawlessly. However, from the iPad 2, 256K MP3s are extremely choppy -- whether I'm using the iPad or not.
Video streaming from the iPad is flawless. The network is fine. And like I said, the iPhone 4 handles streaming from the iPod app perfectly.

Good signal strength is not necessarily an indication you don't have issues with your network. Any devices that are capable of being connected by ethernet and with in close proximity to each other should be.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.

Using MPEG2 video with 2 stereo audio tracks

I am using MPEG 2 files that have 2 audio streams, each stereo. When importing to Premiere CS5.5, only first stereo pair is used, i cannot get the second stream. Is it possible to fix this?

A production company in my city gave the files to me, but I don't know with what software they are recorded.
When i check the files in Gspot (http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/index.htm) they are OK, it founds two MPEG1 layer2 stereo audio pairs.
Also, if I play the files in VLC i can choose from Audio Track 1 and Track 2.

Home Theater need. Multiple Audio Streams from 1 card or possible to use 2 car

I currently have 2 SB Li've's installed and a SB Audigy in the box.
I would like to be able to send different audio out to different devices. I need to send audio from a game interface called MAME 32 to a speaker system connected to the PC. I also use this PC as a home theater PC and want to send audio from my DVD playing software out to my TV(in analog stereo mode) and/or to my receiver(in Dolby Digital mode using the digital connector).
I would like to be able to run these seperatly without having to go into the Control Panel and switch the default sound card like I am doing now. I do not need to run them at the same time.

Bummer. Are you guys working on something that might have this capability? Seems to me that the closer we integrate PC's into our entertainment systems the more need we will have for the ability to do multiple audio streams, i.e. MP3's to the living room. DVD movie audio to the family room, XM radio classical station to the kitchen for mom etc..
Intel is offering this as an onboard solution that has the ability to do at least 2 different streams.
