Hello
I am a new "i" user. I just received an itouch for Christmas. I just synched my entire music collection. However, now I want to load DVD's. I dont get any prompt to do anything when I load a DVD into the tray. Can someone advise me how to do this? Thanks, Marty

It is illegal to do this.

Thanks! But when I visit the site recently, I found the program was upgraded. Now it has 2 optimized output formats specially made for iPod 30G and 60G players! Thus it is easier and more convenient to use without complex settings as other software. Try it at http://www.imtoo.com/downloads/dvd-to-ipod.converter.exe
Another good news: there was a new discount suite ImTOO DVD to iPod Suitethat contains both the DVD to iPod Converter and iPod Movie Converter. It saves newly $20! Hope this can do some help

  • Ripping and Copying DvDs

what is best software (free if possible) to use to rip and copy DvDs?

    hi,
    burning DVD can be done directly from the finder without any additional software; see the following article;
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.4/en/mh854.html
then, you may need more functionality but then, you need to clarify what's are your needs. if this is for video purpose, I personally like using Roxio Popcorn; http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/popcorn/standard/overview.html
if this doesn't answer your question, try to be more specific on what you need to do.

What you want to do is select the files you want to move then go File>Relocate Masters. Your images will then be referenced to a location you select. Aperture will still continue to manage the images, but the external hard drive must be connected if you want to make adjustments. Aperture will retain Metadata and any adjustment information. Your original images will stay unmodified on your external drive.

  • I'm trying to sync a video I ripped from a DVD and it won't load into the device

I'm ripping a few DVDs into iTunes. They vids play on I tunes but now will not load onto my tablet, it just gives a notice that says video did not sync, contact iTunes for mor info. Do I have to do another conversion before the tablet is happy? I have a bran new dell, windows 8 and am ripping with Win X DVD ripper.

Since it seems kind of confusing what's going on, I'd recommend downloading DVD Ripper for Windows. The trial allows you all conversions without time limitation. In the preferences, have ATV2 checked off under what you want the movie converted to. Put in the DVD, and hit Compress, not rip. This will rip and convert the file. Then, drop the file into the Automatically Add to iTunes folder. See if that works.

  • DVD Rip and then burn - video stuttering

I'm trying to rip from a dvd (legal) - so I can put it in Final Cut, add subtitles, and burn back to dvd? But so far, I'm getting video that stutters on my final dvd.
I tried to rip the video from dvd using MPEG Streamclip, then edited it in Final Cut before burning a dvd in DVD Studio. But in the ripped video the picture fades in and out.
Then, when I burn to dvd, the video stutters incredibly on a regular dvd player (but not on the computer's dvd player). Anyone know what's going on here?
    Suggestions?

I just encoded it using compressor. A little bit of stuttering on the dvd (should I apply a de-interlace filter?)
But still have the problem with a constant color change on the video - is there a different program that I should try to rip with rather than MPEG Streamclip?
    Thanks.

  • Transfering itunes from XP to new Leopard computer AND synching iPhone help

I'm a complete Mac OS novice and have purchased a new iMac. I have been using WinXP and own an iPhone. I have backed up my itunes library (from my XP computer) onto multiple dvds. How do I transfer my library onto the mac AND keep my contacts from my iPhone intact? Do I need to do a complete restore on the new computer? Will my contacts be deleted?
Please bear in mind I am a COMPLETE novice with OS X. Step by step directions for transfering my library, deauthorizing the xp computer, and synching my iphone would be amazing.
    Jason

    Jason,
Did you use the iTunes backup feature to backup your iTunes library to DVDs? If so, then to restore the backed-up files, insert a backup disc into your iMac, open iTunes, choose File > "Back Up to Disc," and then click Restore.. Once your files are copied, you can [deauthorize your old XP computer|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iTunesWin/7.4/en/15281.ht ml] and authorize your new Mac.
Note: Before you sync your iPhone to your Mac, make sure you have a backup of your contacts and all other important information on your Windows computer.
Go to the Info tab in iTunes (on your Mac) and select Sync Contacts. When you hit apply, you should get a message saying "The information on this iPhone is synced with another user account. Do you want to sync the iPhone with the information from this user account instead?" Click Merge Info. This should copy the contacts from your iPhone to Address Book on your Mac.
For more information on syncing your iPhone with your Mac, take a look at this article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305741
    Hope this helps,
    Jennifer B.

  • MakeMKV rip of HD DVD on Mac Mini

Hi all, I've am ripping DVDs to my Mac Mini via MakeMKV and using Plex for playback. When I insert an HD DVD into the Mini, it gets spit back out. I knew that certain disc formats couldn't be played by the Mini, but I thought I read on a forum that the movie file could be extracted via Finder an then ripped. ? I wasn't aware of the Mini being unable to read the HD DVD format. Is there a way to get the Mini to read HD DVD and/or other newer formats so that I can rip and play via Plex? Thanks!

Answering just on the question of reading an HD DVD disk on a Mac, to the best of my knowledge there are no drives available from any source that can mount an HD DVD disk on a Mac.
Sorry, but we need to drop this issue now or the Discussions Hosts will probably pull the thread for noncompliance with the Discussions Terms of Use. Again, we cannot help with the ripping of copy-protected disks.

  • Dont know if this is the right place to ask, ripping .flv to dvd?

i have a .flv file that i downloaded from youtube, and i want to rip it to dvd to be able to play on regular dvd-players
here's a list of the software that i have
    - imovie
    - dvd
    - final cut express
    - Flash-8
    thanks for your help

You need to convert the file to something iMovie can handle:
    For that you need mpegStreamclip:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html
After editing in iMovie, send it to iDVD in the usual way.

  • Can I create a new itunes account and synch my iPod to it?

I have an iTunes account, but have only bought music and apps on it for my son's iPod Touch.
Now I have my own iPod Touch and we want to have separate accounts. I already synched my new iPod to my own account - the one where all his music is.
What can I do at this point to let my son have his own account with all the music/apps he has purchased?
Can I create a new account and synch my iPod to that? Can I change the email address on the first account to my son's email?

Yes but you will need to authorize your computer for purchases on the old iTunes account.

  • HT204088 How how can I synch my ipod + iphone music to my new computer? I get the same error  "my ipod or iphone is synched with another itunes library. An Ipod can be synched with only one itunes library at a time. What would I like to do Erase and Synch

How can I synch my ipod & iphone music (purchased from itunes on my old laptop) to my new laptop? I keep getting the same message on my itunes on my new laptop: " The ipod/Iphone is synched with another itunes library. An ipod/iphone can be synched with only one itunes library at a time. What would you like to do - Erase and Synch or Transfer Purchases?" What do I do?
    A couple of other items:
    1) I am guessing Apple does not keep a history of all my music purchases? As I did not have my entire library backed-up anywhere, and relying on the music I have on my ipod and my iphone as my only source of itunes music....I have lost over 500 songs!!!
    2) I used to have an Apple account under another account name, and since have switched to a new account name. Is there anyway to find the history of purchases from my old Apple account name and transfer these over to my new account name and onto my new laptop?
I hope someone can help, I am having a very difficult time trying to obtain answers. Angie

The iphone/ipod is NOT a storage/backup device.  Not maintaining a backup copy is a big mistake.
You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone/ipod to your computer:
Authorize your computer for all accounts and then click  File>Transfer Purchases

  • I had to change computers. Now when i plug in my ipod i get a message That it is synched with another iTunes library. It only offers the option to erase and synch with the new one. How do i find and get back to the original library

  • Ipad not showing in iTunes but recognizes and synchs

    Hi all:
Ok so here is my situation. i decided today to get my house in order and prepare for icloud.
    I have 2 4th generation Ipod Touches
    and an Ipad2 and
    an Ipod classic.
Until about 2 months ago, I had my backups in itunes on a Windows 7 machine. My music and other media were on a networked external hard drive for home sharing. When the Sony Vaio failed, I got a Mac Book Pro.(tired of spending good money on devices which dont last a year!!)
I am now running OSX10.7.1, with Itunes 10.4.1.  I was able to connect and synch up media to the ipod classic a couple of months ago, with no problems.
My issue today is that when I connect the Ipad, or the Touches, they are recognized in iTunes and I get the message that they are already synch'd with another computer (the vaio that died) and that inorder to proceed itunes needs to erase and install items from this new computer and library. No problem with that. Except that the device isn't listed in the left had side of the screen like it used to.
In the case of the Ipad which was the first I connected,I ended up downloading all the apps on to Itunes so I could start over and select them for installation. BUT... after it was taking a long time and i checked iTunes, i noticed that the device was not listed under devices on the left side of iTunes. But there was a synch in progress and my entire itunes library of songs got installed on the ipad. I need to be able to pick and choose like before. I had some music on the ipad, but not my entire library.
In the case of the Ipod Touches, they were also recognized and not listed under devices and I was able to update the system software on them to the latest. but I stopped short of synching for obvious reasons. Under device preferences I see backups for the Ipad and the Touches that were done today. But I dont know if I trust them.
I canot find threads out here specifically for this issue. Seems like most of the time the device isnt recognozed at all. In my case Itunes sees it and updates it, but i cant see the device and manage what goes on it. This is especially essential for the ipod touches which are for my children. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
