Ripping Flash movies onto your iPod?

I have been trying to find a freeware program that can convert SWF movies to a video format I can convert to put on my iPod. I know that there are programs out there that can do it, but I don't believe that I would be willing to pay US$50-$100 for a program that I wouldn't be using very much, hence the need for freeware programs. Quicktime can't do it, because it won't export sound files. Are there any programs out that fit the bill?

Depends on how you're doing it, William.
The program will load the file directly to your iPod if you use Share/Mobile Phones and Players and then select iPod from the options.
You mention synchronizing, which seems to imply that you're using iTunes or other software to transfer the video to your device. If so, that could be a lot of issues, including what format of video you've output from Premiere Elements.

"Can you put purchased DVD movies that you have on your ipod? "
No.  breaking the encryption in order to copy them illegal.
" what about recorded DVD's that you have? "
    Add them to itunes.

  • Getting your Movies of any type onto Your iPod (and Quicktime)

I have just bought a 60gb iPod Video, when i bought this i was under the immpression that you tell it what movies you want on your ipod and it does it for you...WRONG...iPod almost has it geered that you have to buy their movies. I have spent several days investigating how to get any type of movie onto these iPod Videos. I have been succesful in everything except i still have 1 problem and thats why i am typing this right now. Lets take 1 senario at a time, first say you have a .mov or ANY file that OPENS and PLAYs in quicktime; if you have a file that opens and PLAYS (yes there are some that open but refuse to play) in quicktime you are set. All you have to do is (i think you have to have quicktime pro 7) go to file, export and export it to wherever you want and make sure you are exporting it as a MPEG4 file (the only type that is compatible with your iPod video) once you have exported as an MPEG 4 (takes a while) all you have to do is drag it into iTunes and its ready to be put on your iPod. NOW the problem is with the movies or video that wont Play or open in quicktime (which are most files (ex. AVI,WMV,....and the list goes on)OKKK some of these files will open in quicktime but not play in quicktime (AVI) so when you export them all you get is a white movie...and then ofcourse the rest of these files wont even open. FOR THE FILES THAT OPEN but dont play, quicktime suggests a codec, which i have yet to find (IF ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THIS OS PLEASE PLEASE LET ME KNOW). So untill i find that codec i still have the problem of getting all this stuff to play on Quicktime. Now everyone will say just get a converter that converts AVI to MOV. Can't get of those that works either. So pretty much if i can find somthing that will convert stuff to .MOV then i , and everyone else, can put jjust about ANY MOVIE they want on their ipod. SOOOO please if you have a converter that puts stuff in .mov then please respond to this forum, or if you know a different way. Because i am just plain stuck. Thank You

    Welcome to the discussions, Christopher!
You have a PERFECT understanding of the situation and have demonstrated what has always been one of QuickTime's strength's. If you have a movie in QuickTime format, it is almost trivial to get it into another QuickTime format. If QuickTime can open and Play it, then you can successfully use "Export to iPod", wait, and the resulting movie will transfer to the iPod (the exception is MPEG movies which are a special case since they're not track based, they're multiplexed).
The problem comes in attempting to get all of the myriad nonstandard formats created on the Windows side of things for YEARS (usually for the transmission of movies over the internet) into the QuickTime standard. Some of those have QuickTime codecs, some don't and have to go through an in-between step and some have codecs but are buggy. For most cases, the QuickTime DivX plugin may work, in other cases you may need 3ivx or need to use a different program that understands non-standard video and how to compress it directly to MPEG4 (VIdeora).
It's a pain for now because there's so much nonstandard video out there, but, with the growth of more programs geared to creating standard video, the future shouldn't be as prickly

  • HT204370 I registered a digital copy on disneymoviesanywhere and connected with my itunes account but can't find the movies on my itune account.  Just want to download the movie onto my ipod touch.

I registered a digital copy of a movie on disneymoviesanywhere.  I connected the account to my itunes account but I can't find the movie on my itunes account.  I'm just trying to download the movie onto my ipod touch.

    Hey cptniemo,
Thanks for the question. Connecting your iTunes Store and Disney Movies Anywhere accounts should sync all of your eligible Disney, Pixar, and Marvel movies between both services. After connecting your accounts, you can check your purchased history in the iTunes Store:
    Download past purchases

Alternatively you can download the free Disney Movies Anywhere app from the App Store (iOS 7 required):

  • How do u get movies on your ipod?

how do u get movies on your ipod? i hav a 30 gb video ipod, so i can, but i cant figure out how. i've tried looking it up but it says nothing. pls help

First of all what to you mean by Movies? If you mean commercial releases that are issued on DVD, then you have to use software to rip and convert these to an iPod supported video format. There are a number of Windows compatible programs to do this, Video Vault commercial software is one, the free program Videora is another. After that, follow the instructions here to import them to iTunes and your iPod: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/tutorial/ipgettingstartedt12.html

  • What do you think is the best way to get DVDs onto your iPod?

I haven't recieved my video iPod yet, its coming in the mail, but I'd like to be ready when I get it. In your opinion, what is the best way to get DVDs onto your iPod?
I have Windows, so Handbreak doesn't work.
I've tried videora, but its taking ages...
    Thanks!
    *Just noticed you can edit*
I would also like to add that I would perfer that it was free...
Videora is driving me up a wall... It still has 3 hours to convert this thing its been going for 10 min and its still at 0%

Depending on the specs of your computer, time taken to convert DVD's to an iPod-playable format can vary. On my computer (see below), it takes about 10 hours to convert a 2-hour DVD to the iPod format, using Videora.
So, due to the extremely large size of the DVD rip, it'll take a while to convert it, regardless of how fast or slow your system is.

  • Can i talk to someone about putting movies onto my iPod?

i can talk here or an aim but i need help putting my movies onto my ipod
    any help is apprechiated
    thanks

    okay here it is.
1.go to google, search for videora, find the videora converter (thats free) DOWNLOAD IT
    2. start up the videora converter and click transcode new video, find the video in your files from ares/limewire or whereever and click it.
    3. see the thing beside it that says "New transcoding", once you've clicked a file from #2 press START (do not fiddle with the settings they make it so that your ipod reads the information)
    4. it will take minutes to hours depending on how big the file is.
    5. once it is CONVERTED (be patient) : go to itunes click file at the top -> go to add file to library .
    6. okay your file is in a folder that looks something like this: C:\Program Files\VideoraiPodConverter\Videos . therefore you need to find wherever you uploaded your program (videora) and find the file
labelled "videoraipodconverter" (unless you changed it)
    7. once you find this file (in program files most likely) click on "videos" and your video should be there, uploaded and converted
    8. there, you're done and it should play both sound and video on your ipod
okay, so enough topic dicussions about this.
please leave comments where i am too vague or it doesn't work and happy holidays
PS: if you're downloading from a CD or DVD you have to save it in a file before you can convert it. Try saving it in "my music"
THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE FOR windows XP not MAC
    thanks,
    KM

It's against the AD forum terms of use to discuss removing copy protection from DVDs.
    +8. Keep within the Law+
+1. No material may be submitted that is intended to promote or commit an illegal act.+
+2. Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store.+

The studios want you to purchase another copy, just for your ipod.
My advice is to ask your quesiton elsewhere.

  • How do I transfer a movie onto my Ipod using a new PC?

I cant put my purchased movies from ITunes onto my ipod using my new pc. My old pc died and now my ipod may aswell be useless. Apparantly I have to pay more money to get someone to tell me how to do this. I payed for the movie with my credit card, it downloaded into my new pc, so why cant I put it onto MY ipod!

You'll need to extract the contents of your DVD (..presumably not copy-protected ones..) with Streamclip.
Then see Apple's hints about how to convert to fit into an iPod.
But I'm not the expert on this; I haven't done it yet: I'm just quoting others. Matti - I think - is the expert..
[..Oops, sorry Lennart: didn't see you there! ..I'm just off to the Chinese Chippy to get dinner/supper..]

  • Is it possible to put a DVD movie onto my iPod?

Could I copy a DVD to my hard drive, then put the movie (DVD) onto my iPod?

If you are referring to commercially produced DVD movies, unfortunately, because of copyright issues discussing this subject is not permitted on Apple's forums as the Apple Discussions User Agreement now clearly states.
Under item 2, para 8.2 it says "Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs.

  • I downloaded a movie onto my iPod and lost about 500 of the songs in my library.  How can I get them back?

How can I retrieve the lost songs on my ipod . . . and p.s. the movie didn't even work on the ipod!

Hook up your iPod, there should be a selection somewhere that allows you to sync the iTunes purchased content ONLY back into your iTunes from the iPod.
Non-iTunes purchased content needs a third party utility, look at iLounge or elsewhere for it.
As always maintan a backup of your content on external medium, cd/dvd/external drive as Apple will not redownload content.
You bought it, your responsible for it's preservation.
