Ripple Edit - how come it doesn't adjust audio correctly ?

Can somebody help me with the ripple edit tool ?
When I use ripple edit on a portion of video, the audio does not
also adjust itself, so when I play back the video, the audio is not
in the correct place anymore.
Why is this happening ?

When you use a ripple edit tool, if the tracks are not linked together, select audio and video track and you will get adjustment of both. If your audio and video are linked together you could press and hold Alt key select one of the tracks, and you will get ripple edit on only tracks, but the other will stay where its at.
If your audio or video tracks are locked up and you will perform ripple edit then all time line material will shift and after unlocking you will see at the beginning of every clip a red murk telling how far of sync you have shifted each clip time code - its no good. You will have to go to every clip and right click on every red murk and chose to "move to sync" and it is a pain.

It is dissappointing that Siri location services are available in only a few countries. However, Apple never said that it was available everywhere. It is a beta service and they never even had a trace of Siri on the Apple Canada website. They even removed it from the video clips and everything. I consider myself lucky we can use it at all (reminders/calender dates/texts/websearches etc.) we have to wait patiently for our Country to be added. It will probably take a little while due to having 2 national languages.

How come itunes doesn't support avi movies

hi im trying to put avi type movies on my itouch. but it wont show up on itunes. i been using a video converter called handbreak to change it to m4v but it take too much time. is there anyway to get itunes to put avi so i can put it on my itouch.

unfortunitly itunes and ipod doesn't suppport avi files
and either way it HAS to be converted, as ipods only support playing .m4v and .mp4 videos
but ipods aren't alone as all portable video players besides windows mobile devices only play .mp4's
they do that too have a set standard for portable digital videos and use less memory and use lower resolutions which is perfect for the small screen sizes and there allows more room for more videos, which ofcourse therefore has people buy more content thus giving the developers more money

How come dashboard doesn't have the "water effect?"

I was just wondering, and i know it's not important...but on iMacs when you drag & drop a widget it makes this water effect thing....and on my mac mini it doesn't...

Hey, be happy! In the upcoming (possibly a 100 years or so) Vista, you have to have a super graphics card to get the windows transparent, or to make the buttons glow. Mac OS X is native to transparenty and look at the buttons now. They pulse blue, don't they?

ICloud mail... how come it doesn't open my inbox half the time?

I get an error message appear after a while looking at the "loading" thing (that circle with the dots that go around it while loading something on the mac). The error says something like Not able to load email at this time. I've had to shut down and restart my mac in order to get the emails to load. Anyone have any ideas what's causing this?

Click on it and Safari just spins a colorful beach ball until it needs to force quit.
I find this beach ball happening more and more. I'm typing this in Firefox 1.5.0.4. And will have to stay with it now.
In having to force quit Safari I lost a huge text reply I was typing in Safari when I did a search for ussr and got frozen out from anything in Safari.
It' can't be that difficult for Apple to fix Safari can it?

Have you done these?Do you have internet apps SpeedDownload, iGetter, PithHelmet, Acid Search, Safari Enhancer ? Or Norton or Virex? Sometimes non-apple internet apps need updating or uninstalling. If you do, let us know which ones and which version, please.

1. Empty your cache & History settings via the Safari menu
2. Trash your Icons Folder:
HD>Users>Home>YourName>Library>Safari -->Icons
Restart Safari and a new folder will be automatically regenerated.
(This folder saves favicons of all the sites you visit. Needs cleaning periodically -- or you can change that file's preferences to "Read Only"
rather than "Read & Write." This will keep it from growing in size.)
3. Launch Font Book and check all fonts for duplicates. A duplicated font will have a bullet beside the font family and you can resolve duplicates by selecting the font and at the menu bar, go to Edit > Resolve Duplicates.
Do this for each font with a bullet next to it.
If you're still having problems:
4. Shut down your computer . . . unplug the computer, modem, and router, if you have one. Let everything sit for 2-3 minutes. Plug everything back in, start up your modem & router, then restart your computer.

I'm probably missing something really stupid but i can't see

Ah forget it, i just had to do total = 0; before hand, even

Multicam Editing Using a Ripple edit

I am new to FCP. I have a 2 camera shoot of a wedding ceremony. I have my camera angles on the timeline. I have decided that in one instance that neither camera angle provided an acceptable shot so I want to shorten the sequence. How do I do a ripple edit and keep everything in sync?

Absolutely correct. You do not need to blade anything. If the autoselect buttons are enabled for these tracks and NOTHING IS SELECTED IN THE TIMELINE, do as you described, mark an in and out and hit shift-delete.
To confirm that you have everything setup correctly before you hit shift-delete, hit option-a and you will select the area between the ins and outs in whatever tracks have the autoselect button inabled.
This is not to say that creativestuff's method will not work. It does work, but there are many ways to skin the proverbial cat.

How come I can't upload videos to FB

I have the iPhone 5 and I just noticed that I cannot upload a video directly to Facebook. I have to go to FB first and then select the video from my library. How come it doesn't give me the option from the video like it does for the photos?
Also, people are telling me that when I send them videos via message, they are very blurry. Is there a reason for this? I thought the new iPhone was supposed to have really great quality video?? This is my first iPhone so I am a little confused.

I had to call Canon customer support to find out how to load videos into iMovie '11 from my Vixia HF R20 camcorder.
They told me what to do, step by step, and it works! If you don't do it in this exact order, it may not work.
Turn on your camcorder.
Plug the camcorder into a power source.
Click the "video mode" button on your camcorder. It looks like a little video camera and has some arrows.
Use the USB cord to plug the camcorder into your mac.
When the screen on the camcorder asks what memory to use, click "Select ALL"
Open iMovie
In the middle of the iMovie screen, there is a small gray videocamera icon. Click on that.
Your videos will come up and you have the option to load all of them or any of them.

How come the ipod on my phone doesn't show the songs I loaded onto it?

Just got the iphone 4, loaded some apps, synched it up to my computer and loaded a couple of movies on as well, just for fun. When I open ipod on my phone, there's nothing there. It suggests I go to itunes to find songs. I plugged the phone back into my computer, and there was all the music I loaded, showing that it is on the phone and is using up memory space. How come I can't listen to it? Am I doing something wrong?

Connect your iPhone to your PC. Launch iTunes. Select your iPhone under Devices on the left side of the iTunes window. Then select Music from the menu.
Make sure *Sync Music* is selected then click Sync tab bottom right side of the iTunes window.
If that doesn't help, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
