RMA status for my locked up zen mi

so i finally sent in my creative zen micro.... had the infamous "CREATIVE" screen lockup.. and under the status it said "HANG" whats that mean?!
it cost me $32 CDN to send it to oklahoma .... what a rip off... people think money grows on trees or something? I have another question.. can I return my micro directly back to Creative.... cauze it was bought in portugal and i li've in canada.. so i can't exactly hop on the next plane and return it. If i do return it, will i get the same amount i paid in euros or converted into canadian?Message Edited by euro_chick on 07-4-2005 04:2 AM

I think both of these questions are best addressed to Creative support.
"Hang" might mean some kind of player lockup, but could mean something else.
I doubt very much Creative will allow the player to be returned to them.

    Hi,
    I am posting here as I understand the forum to be used by Creative staff worldwide.
    How long does it normally take for the RMA status page to be updated? I sent my faulty Zen Vision : M back on Thursday 30th via International Signed For mail (as it had to go to the Republic of Ireland) and according to the Royal Mail website it was deli'vered on December 4th.
    My RMA number is 6900479 in case any kind Creative people fancy looking for me.
    I must say the whole process seems kind of convoluted and long-winded. Every time in the past that I have had to return a faulty electrical product of similar value (especially one that died after only a few months), a courier has always been dispatched to collect the faulty item (free of charge to me), often giving me a replacement there and then on the doorstep. Sony offer this service, as does my mobile phone provider, amongst others.
    I was both surprised and a bit disappointed that Creative Labs don't offer a similar service and it certainly would make me think twice about purchasing a Creative product in the future.

    Thanks for your help. Someone e-mailed me to ask for the tracking number for my parcel which I would presume means either there is a large backlog of RMA'd products waiting to be processed or, more likely, after it was signed for it has now been lost!

    i went to check my RMA status and under testing to show if it was tested or not it said hang. what does hang mean mean?

    That is the fault that they found with the unit. Not very descripti've, but it does seem to match the problem listed for listed the RMA. Hanging at the startup screens.

  • RMA Status Quest

    I needed to get my Zen Sleek and the earbuds replaced through Creative. Under the Test Results column in the RMA status screen, a message says "NPF but Cosmetic Defect" for both products and "Included W-FG" for the earbuds. What do those mean and will I get the same product back or a new one?

    I am not sure what the initial complaint was for the RMA, but the "Included W-FG" sounds like you are getting a Finished Goods replacement unit with full packaging / parts.

  • Can't check my RMA status and Register a product

    Today I tried to check my RMA status and register my new motherboard, I found out any sub websites with service.msi.com is all not able to be accessible. Is it just me or everybody?

  • Reset BPF step status for some of the company only

    Dear all,
       For example , we got 5 steps.
       All the companies finish to step 3.
       The step 1 and 2 has been locked.
        Suddenly, one of the company have to do some modification from step  2.
       Is it possible to unlock step 2 for that company only?
       It seems that we have to reset BPF status for all instances to do the change now.

    HI,
    If you haven't done so, try repairing disk permissions.
    Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

    what does hang mean in RMA status check? i went to check my RMA status and under testing it said hang. what does this mean?

    In the "testing" column, it tells you the outcome of any daignostic tests they ran on your player. It usually says "not tested yet" for a day or so after the package arri'ves.
    If it says "hang," they were able to turn your player on but it froze up almost immediately. If it's a software problem, they'll wipe the hard disk and reload a working copy of the firmware. If it's a hardware problem, they'll send you a new or refurbished player of the same model and capacity as yours.

  • Work status for selected members

    While changing work status for a combination of category, entity, time: Is it possible to select multiple entity dimension members?
    For eg, I can choose an entity member and include its children as well. However, is it  possible to choose only some of the children members while setting the work status?

    I don't think it is possible. I tried to select multiple entities via the show filter function, for example to filter all entities with currency EUR. This generates a list of 2 entities in apshell, but when I click OK it does not pass the 2 entities to the workstatus box because this can only contain one value. In the end this value is picked up for locking.

    My requirement is , while settling the process orders a Z exit will be triggered & redirect the Cost centre according to a Z table maintained. So while settling the orders I need to select all the settlable orders & i ll pass it thru the Exit for redirecting the variances to other cost centre.
    While selection of the process orders I can select according to the status TECO but all the previous periods process orders will be also having the same status.So , to exclude the settled orders I need some "condition".But I could not see any status change after the Settlement.

  • E-Rec - HRP 5102 has multipe status for Candidate profile Released

    Hello,
    I had a requirement to transfer the internal candidates to E-Rec system (from HR system) with their candidate profile in released status.
    Hence i have customized the ALE to update the table HRP5102 - STATUS with status "2"(Released) whenever data transfer is done from HR system.
    I have two questions here;
    There are 3 statuses available for the candidate profile in HRP5102 - STATUS field
    0 - Locked
    1 - Released
    2 - Released
    What is the difference between status 1 & 2 ?
    When running a candidate search (using the TREX search), it does not throw the entire list of candidates whose profiles are released but only a few. Is this hapenning because i have the candidates data stored in HRP5102 in status "2"??
    Any inputs on the above queries would help me..

    I think we discussed this topic here some times before. The reason for the 3 status values are the original 3 status for the candidate which were supposed to be "currently not looking for a job" (registered a while ago but currently quite satisfied with what i do), "only passive looking for a job" (my job is not that bad but i will come if you put enough cash on the table) and "active looking for a job" (I'm a talent - GET ME OUT OF HERE!).
    Later SAP realized that this system does not really make sense as nearly everyone will change the job if the price is fine so the system was changed to be "can be found in the talent pool" and "can not be found in talent pool". But as there were already 3 values, 2 of them got the same meaning. So there is not difference between 1 and 2.
    In all cases I checked in the coding there is always a check against value 0. EQ 0 for locked and NE 0 for released. So this should not be the reason if someone is not found in the talent pool search.

    another way is through the Main registration control panel to monitor the status of your RMA http://register.msi.com.
    Note 1: MSI uses DHL typically to ship orders back to customers on Express Delivery

    You probably should give Customer Support a call so they can check into that for you, at least that's what I would do.

    The inbound queus in the CRM are struck with the status
    Update BDoc status failed - BDoc locked
    When I checked for the notes I could find the note 705650.
    But we have a higher support package then the one mentioend in the notes.
    Cany you guys give me suggestion how to resolve the issue

    Try releasing the queue, might be a temporary problem.
    If not, check out the lockings in transactions sm13 (or sm12: I'm not sure).

    How long does it normally take to update the satus? I sent my player in two days ago for repair (dum klutz that I am) and although fedex shows the package as deli'vered RMA status still says not recieved. Anyone have a benechmark for me? I'm getting a little nervous.

    Yea a couple of days should do it, but definetly call. I would be curious to know if you get a "new" or like new unit back. I am not happy with what I got as a replacement for my BRAND NEW unit which wasnt even 2 months old.

    The first guy I spoke with trying to find out the status on my RMA did have a firm grasp on the english language - so I trust when he said, and I quote, "The testing department found nothing wrong with your board, so we're sending it back (to you)."
    The second gentleman I spoke with a week later trying to find out where my board was didn't have english quite mastered fluently, but was able to give me the information I needed.
    Generally though - what I usually understand (doing RMA's for a company myself) is that if someone RMA's something, you generally ship out a REPLACEMENT anyway, so this may be the case.  I sure hope so.
    This has been quite a puzzling experience from day one anyway.
